Dont stay here. Probably the most frustrating experience I’ve had all-around with a hotel stay. The rooms themselves are fine but a lot of the staff and especially management just don’t care about servicing guests.

I was staying with a group of young girls and their families and we had reserved 15 rooms in early December. A couple of weeks before our stay we inquired to sales via email and telephone about renting a conference room one night of our stay to have a meal and put a movie on for the girls. No response to either our call or email.

When we arrived at the hotel three families (including mine) were checked into dirty hotel rooms. Beds were unmade, garbages full, dirty towels in the bathrooms. We were rushing off to an NHL game and they assured us the rooms would be clean when we returned. On our return we went back to the same room which was still dirty. We were then finally checked into a clean room on our third try.

This stay was in early to mid December and with a group of young girls we chose the hotel partly because it has a pool. The pool area and water were so cold it was almost impossible to use. We were first told the heater was broken and then told they hadn’t turned it on yet because “it isn’t winter yet” even though it was below freezing and snow covered outside. Consider the pool out of service in spring and fall (even December).

The front desk promised to work something out and follow up with us for the dirty rooms, they also promised a follow up from sales on the conference room we wanted to rent. Neither call ever came and then no one from sales is in on the weekend so no room could be rented. We always had to follow up because none of the promised calls ever came.

After following up at the front desk they did promise the three families that got checked into dirty rooms a $100 credit. But of course on check out it was not reflected on the bill and no notes were left as promised. We followed up with a call to the front desk that was never returned.

We were eventually able to contact the GM who did get back to us quickly and resolve the situation with the credits. The fact that it had to go that far seems ridiculous. Overall, a complete lack of any guest service and seemingly impossible to get any sort of follow up on any issues prior to or during our stay.

The rooms where great, the beds and the hotel itself was great but some people in our hockey tournament group had issues with their rooms not being cleaned at check in and still not cleaned a second time at checkin later in the night after the hockey game. Management decided not to turn on the pool heater so the pool was unusable for how cold it was. Management wasn't rectifying any issues as they were being reported

I was there today to stay one day, had really bad experience that the toilet doesn’t drain it’s fluid out the water all the bathroom was filled with water, we called the customer service still in that 5 hours i was there nobody came to fix it

Been coming to this hotle for years. First time since the start of covid. I dont know what happened but this hotel feel completly different and I mean for the worse. My bed was just horrible brick hard and the spring squeeked eveytime I moved on the bed. Stayed here for a week on buisness and the front staff was mentally not there. I ask 3 separate times on 3 different days not to send room cleaning to my room as I wanted the privacey. Wel it did not work they kept on sending staff to my room! This is a completly different hotel from prior to covid. Now I need to find a different hotel to stay at when I come to Ottawa. Not a up to par with Holiday Inn reputation. September 2023

Excellent customer service at the front desk. Exceptional Breakfast with lots of options for everyone. Breakfast team is efficient and friendly. Clean and comfortable room with quiet air conditioning. Net was fast. Definitely a good choice.

Had a reservation for one night but was refused entry in the palace because I didn't have a credit card.
I offered to provide debit but they refused it.

Clearly policy is more important than respecting guests.

This was my second stay at this hotel. Everything went smoothly, it was clean and very comfortable, and the staff were accommodating, providing a microwave for my room promptly, upon my inquiry/request.

One thing to note, my room didn't have a mini fridge. I didn't need one for this stay, but I was a little surprised, as at this price point, one kind of expects it.

There *was* a safe and an iron/ ironing board in the closet, handy features not used this time but always appreciated when needed.

So I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews, but I have to say I actually really enjoyed it. The woman I dealt with was really nice and helpful and the room I got was amazing and big. Super clean super quiet 2 night stay. Over a 100 channels on the TV. Fridge as well bathroom was stocked and pillows were great.

Was very happy I'll stay again. Don't be fooled by all the bad reviews. Lots of staff very clean very friendly.

Totally loved the stay at this hotel. My friends and I had a real fun swimming in the pool. Also we enjoyed the breakfast at Myra’s restaurant.

Attending post Funeral reception for a old friend. Did not sleep over at the Hotel. Looks fine though. Would stay there when visiting Ottawa for sure.

Thought that this hotel would be better considering the reviews, location, and updates but I was sadly mistaken. It took over twenty minutes to check in, and then we had to go searching the hotel for a luggage cart as the staff disappeared when asked to find one. There was blood all over the floor in the room in our bathroom, shaving cream on the shower curtain, the toilet was cracked, and there was severe water damage to the ceiling of the bathroom. The soundproofing of the hotel may as well not exist, as you can hear everything inside the hotel and out (sirens, kids running up and down the hallway and screaming, people talking in other rooms, etc). The TV only has a few channels. The next morning we wanted to call down to reception, to see what was on the breakfast menu of the restaurant inside the hotel (as there was no menu inside the room or hours for the restaurant) and the phone didn't work. The restaurant inside the hotel had its own fair share of issues and the minimal food selection on the menu wasn't that impressive. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Not sure if I'll stay in another Holiday Inn after this.

Front desk while checking (Alex G.) The front desk worker is extremely rude. His behavior of giving us rhetorical statements like I am supposed to know the procedures of checking in.not very nice I would say.
After dealing with that he checked me into a room that is already occupied, I walked into someone sleeping, which is rather funny to me but ladies lock your rooms lol.
Then after the next gentleman at the front desk was fairly nice but unfortunately checked me into a room that smelt like cigarettes.
We were then sent to another room that was nice.whole run around was not fun.

The room was okay, just like most hotels, beds were not wonderful 5/10 for comfort, upon checkin the staff were nice but nothing above and beyond, we were staying with two infants and due to COVID there is no housekeeping during your stay which is fine so we asked for a vacuum during our stay which resulted in 4+ calls the front desk basically begging for one, numerous calls for other things, went to get a key for the pool 8 minutes before our swim time and were told to come back in 8 mins when we were holding our babies there. Take your money somewhere else, the staff seem lazy and like they have zero customer service skills.

We checked in only to find the pool isn’t available on key with reservations. They allow 5 people per hour in the pool. On a first come basis. Which was full when we arrived for the whole time. I called before arriving to make sure pool was open and was not told about the reservation that is needed. Two small children who were very upset about this. Staff was very abrupt and not helpful. There was not enough towels for us and we asked for more. We were told they would deliver some and that didn’t happen. Rooms were nice, only thing. They were over concerned about a wedding and didn’t really care about other patrons. I would not recommend this hotel only based on the staff.

Guy at the desk for check in was friendly and very helpful even though he was slammed with people wanting to check in. (sorry I didn't get his name) Room was big and bed was Comfortable. We would stay here again.

The room was comfortable. Due to covid there was no maid staff cleaning or refreshing the rooms. The pool was open limited hours and by appointment only to limit capacity.

I was in line to check in, and also on the phone to check in/reserve. I stood there for 20 minutes and no answer on the phone and 3 staff members scratching their heads at whatever they were doing at the front desk. I could hear the phone ring and nobody picked up. Bad timing I guess. I just left. I could only guess the rest of my visit was going to be similar experience. We just left.

We reserved a room with King bed and said we had a dog. Upon arrival we registered at the desk. The room smelled like smoke just standing by the door. Also we're given a 2 queen room and the beds were not made. Wifi did not work, called the desk and was told to call tech support ourselves.

Je suis vraiment en colère! Je viens d'arriver à l'hôtel. Premièrement on ne parle pas un seul mot français. Bon à la limite je m'y fait même si c'est une province anglais/français. Secondo on me dit que j'ai n'ai pas payer les frais de la chambre alors que c'est complètement faux et ON ME CHARGE À Nouveau la chambre (j'avais réservé avec booking.com)
Je dois aller me battre au comptoir pour prouver que j'ai les frais sur ma carte de crédit. (Deux fois en plus du dépôt) Troisièmement on m'annonce après tout ça que la piscine est FERMÉE! Je suis venu ici avec trois enfants impatient d'aller se rafraîchir! Je suis OUTRÉE DE PAYER POUR CA ALORS QUON NE M'AVERTI PAS D'AVANCE DE LA SITUATION!
Une chance que la chambre est belle et propre.

Vraiment je ne reviendrai pas ici! Pis ça fait trente minutes que je suis ici!

Ok room. Only had a shower but no tub. Great walking distance to attractions but directly across from methadone clinic and homeless shelter. Paid parking at $18 a day with no guarantee that if you move your car to go anywhere you will still have a spot on return. Had great interactions with Clive at the front desk.he deserves 5 stars

The family had quick stay at Holiday Inn Ottawa East en route to the east coast. The hotel is conveniently located and close to amenities and the bed was comfortable. That being said, there were some serious issues with the layout of our room. The bed was positioned right next to the air conditioning unit and the air blew right onto the bed. It was cause for an uncomfortable sleep for those closest to the unit. There was no way to redirect the air flow and the room was too stuffy not to have the a/c for our stay. There should be some clearance between the a/c unit and the beds for optimal cooling and a comfortable sleep for the entire family. The room was also equipped with only one bath towel and we had to head down to the front desk to get additional towels for the family. Just a minor inconvenience after a long trip.

We had a last minute trip to Ottawa. We came in late Friday to a room that was dirty and the fridge didn’t work the AC unit was extreme loud plus I killed around 3-4 spiders.

In the morning we were upgraded to a suite.
It was clean no bugs fudge works and the AC was quite.

The manager Ming was exceptionally supportive to the reason why I’m doing 4 stars. The front desk gentleman was always grumpy miserable and had a short fuse. He had no people skills.

We upgraded and paid the extra for breakfast which I’d recommend.

Avoid the eggs. They taste like I’m eating rubber. Everything else is good

The hotel hallways and lobby area are super clean.

There was no breakfast, the wifi wasn’t secure, the hotel room 205 was’t clean enough, the sheets were unclean and a massive booger was seen in the washroom. Due to COVID restrictions, the pool was limited to only 5 people which made it impossible for us to use and it is painful we booked the hotel because of the pool and the website had to information to keep us informed about this limitation prior to us booking. The services are not impressive.

Modern and clean hotel. This was a pleasant stay. First visit to our nation's capital and the hotel extended my expectations. Location is great too. St. Laurant mall walking distance, close by major highway (417) and many other restaurants and shops.

It was horrible. There was only 1/2 toilet roll. When we called to ask for a toilet roll the guy at the front desk was getting mad and told us to come and get it because there is no one to bring it our room. The room was noisy coming from the other rooms and air conditioner was noisy.very rude customer service and we will never ever go to Holiday inn again.

Hotel seemed newly renovated. Guest rooms had a Keureg coffee maker but no fridge. A microwave was available for use in the lobby.

Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Sadly the pool was closed due to COVID restrictions. Look forward to staying here again.

Worst hotel I ever been seen, staff are very rude, first room I got has a problem with the drain for the sink, I moved to the other room, a lot of noise I really do not know where it comes from, it sounds like there is a train moving on the rooftop, I will never stay in any holiday inn ever, I wish I read the reviews before I booked the room, I really do not know how I am going to sleep this night, and this guy in the reception should not be working as a customer service anywhere

Good hotel but not offering much
Hotel location is very good of course when everything else is not closed during COVID-19; staff at front desk never asked any screening questions, which came as a surprise; didnt mind it though
Our room was good, taps a little sticky and toilet flush making weird noise; assuming maintenance staff dont have much shifts due to slow business
paid $101 plus taxes after booking directly through hotel, was told they have breakfast in morning and found out NO COMPLIMENTARY breakfast.this is uncommon in hotels of this range.

Nice room, decent price, says they are doing vigilant cleaning of the rooms and I didn't notice any issues. On check in the clerk was pleasant and check in was fast, like really fast. Checkout was quick and pain free as well. Overall good experience, I will stay here again.

I had booked a room for the night for me and my family. I thought I had booked a room with two queens but I didn’t so I asked if we could just cancel cause we thought we would just drive back home to Toronto instead of even staying. I was polite to the man at the front desk, he said “yeah you can cancel and leave anytime u want, but you’re not getting your money back” he said it in a rude tone when I just simply asked a question. I said to him ok np is there anything better for me and my family he kept being RUDE so I told him to stop taking to me like that. Anyways he charged me 60$ Extra to get a suite, which was not even very clean, sheets smelled bad, room smelled sour, bathtub was dirty. I kept trying to contact front desk and you can never get ahold of them. My family took a nap and I went to shower, to my surprise one of the staff had entered our room to get something inside I just hear the door open and the man say loudly HELLLO which scared me and woke up my daughter. We again kept trying to call front desk finally someone answered he said he had to remove something from the room. Eventually we just checked out a couple hours later due to this overpriced nonsense place they call a hotel. Also prices should ideally be lower given no amenities are even available. So I spent money for a room which we only used for a about 4 hours. The same guy who checked me out was the same rude one with his snarky comments. He clearly doesn’t care about customers here and I’m assuming management doesn’t either cause it’s horrifying how this place is being operated.

Customer service was very poor. Had to call them 3-4 times to get confirmation email. Guest service was very bad; they cancelled our reservation without prior information so we reached there in the mid night and was told that we didn’t have any room due to their technical error.

Chambre très propre, fonctionelle, literie de super qualité, les draps sont doux (beaucoup mieux que dans beaucoup de chaines plus chères), les oreillers sont confortables, rideaux opaques.

We booked for 2 nights with my sister the first one was ok we came from a trip so we crashed on your bed but let me tell you the 2nd night was AWFUL noise for at least an hour at 10pm! We called for assistance and yet there’s still somebody making noise!

I was very disappointed! I can understand it’s not the hotel fault if people don’t have respect but it’s the duty of the hotel to do something about it and that’s the point.

I don’t recommend places that does nothing and take no actions for the customer!

My room was disgusting with hair on my pillows and sheets. The bathtub was filthy and brown and the sink had streaks of brown all around the bowl. My towels were also dirty and yellow. The staff in the front desk was extremely rude, not even showcasing a smile or a passing glance. They saw that I was lost and couldn't even direct me anywhere. *I* had to tell them where to take me. The breakfast wasn't so bad at least. It tried to make up for my bad experience. Never again will I show up to this hotel.

The place is clean and location is desirable however that is where things stop. Internet is spotty at best. Middle of the week you might be able to stream your favourite show but on the weekend forget it. You might ask why stream if they have a tv in the room well there are no channels worth watching. My tub wouldn’t drain so every shower was a bath. The restaurant is ok but you pay a lot for something you could get better and for less a block away. They say they have a quiet policy but don’t enforce it as there was a form party in the hallway. I had to stay here for work but would never waste my own money here.

Veille bâtisse mais avec des meubles modernes dans les chambres, mais on voit l'âge par les portes, le bain etc. Un peu bruyant par les corridors, pas bien insonorise dans les chambres. Très propre et service accueillante.

The service of the staff is pretty great and friendly. For location, it isn't too bad given that it is far away from downtown Ottawa. There are a few locations for food, a mall across the street, and is right of the highway. My room was not great though while I stayed here. When I went to bed, I noticed a pube underneath the sheets as well as a small stain (dark though). I decided to sleep in the other bed. When I got there, I saw women's hair under those sheets as well as two of the four pillows. I went back to the first bed and slept on half the bed without the pube (yes I threw it out first). I also noticed a bit of hair on the ground under the sink of the washroom. I wondered if housekeeping didn't replace bed sheets and pillows at all and just straightened the sheets of they appeared clean enough. This made me nervous and feel very unclean. I called down to reception to let them know and he offered to change rooms right away and apologized for my experience. Since it was late in the night and I had an early morning, I declined but wanted them to be aware. I hope this was a one-off only as management said it would be. I'm satisfied with how they handled this.

This Holiday Inn is pretty interesting in that it seems to be fairly newly renovated. However the renovations aren't the greatest it's quite obvious that some places still have a lot of problems.the air conditioning unit on my wall doesn't seem to work as well as a ventilation system in my bathroom. Many of the request we made pre check-in we're not fulfilled even though we are Platinum members. In fact, many reasonable requests afterwards were left ignored too.

The breakfast at ReZas was pretty good, albeit pricey. It's a hot breakfast with various pig products, ham, potatoes and more. Expect $12-15 for a main. The service at ReZas is piss-poor and often petty. It is clear that they treat you like trash if they believe you may not tip. My business partner and I were going to leave a very large gratuity at the end of our stay but only tipped moderately and intermittently until then. However after dealing with spiteful attitudes we reconsidered it. Truly amazing.

All in all I found that that was a lot of refinement that lacked here. However the beds were very comfortable we found the overall environment to be fairly clean. If there was a hot tub here it would be worth visiting often.

After driving in from Nova Scotia and arriving at 1: 30 in the morning it was a nicely kept clean Holiday Inn. Beds were comfortable to sleep in especially after such a long drive and thankful that check out was noon no need to rush to get yourself together and out the door.

We had a couple of rooms booked with this hotel they were very unprofessional and had dirty rooms, was very uncomfortable and our staff was very I pleased with the stay, I wouldn’t recommend to stay with this hotel, also the front desk manager is very rude and hardheaded. Please don’t stay at this hotel, look somewhere else you won’t be happy.

Probably one of the worst experiences. First of all, the bed sheets smelled bad. They were no tissues, no bottle of water, no shampooing. The service is barely acceptable, unfortunatly we had a lady receptionist who was not helpful at all. I do not recommend this hotel and my family and I won't be coming back.

So far so good, room has a view of the Parliament though pretty far away but there are museums are in the Area. To go downtown or to Hull takes only a few minutes by car. I will be back next time I decide to go to Ottawa for a weekend. Too bad there was nothing that was commercial free on TV but.still I give it fives stars

We were supposed to get two singles bed but we ended up with a queen and a pull out. Let me tell you that pull out is not very comfy. No little fridge so I am very generous with 3 stars.

Had stayed with this hotel for work, flew in from Toronto, they booked me the wrong kind of room and they didn’t have any other options I was stuck there, than they offered me a free stay and when I went to redeem the free stay they said they cannot see it on my file. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel very unprofessional staff and very unsatsified.

Pool is ok but no one to check if rules are followed. A group of 12 big noisy people just made every one else leave.
Same situation in the halway between rooms, loud music at 11 Pm. All their doors were opened. Weekend of August 18.
Big room is ok.
