My husband Terry and I came to Rona this evening to purchase a lawn mower, Victoria went out of her way to help us find one and to call another store on our behalf. With staff, like Victoria, customers like us felt welcome and supported. Although we could not get a lawn mower at this store, we had such a positive experience. Thanks, Victoria!

Honestly an amazing experiences with Rona. We had completely missed our delivery. Our fault entirely. The dispatch team was so kind as to reschedule the same driver to deliver at a later time on the same day. The driver was back in under 15 minutes. They were all so kind and understanding. It was honestly such an amazing experience.

Don't come here if you need something immediately. It's happened to me 3 times where what I'm looking for is in some bin that is not accessible. Then there's the whole process of finding someone that works in the department, and then getting someone with a forklift to bring the item down. Unless you're ordering for pick up I wouldn't recommend shopping here. Big time waster.

Love this store! There's always staff around to help, or those around will very quickly help you find someone with the right expertise. I always get personalized advice on products - almost feels like a local store in that way, but it's a huge store with lots of options, and many products I can't find elsewhere.

With our grandson’s birthday almost 1 month away, with gift ideas from his mom & dad, we began searching for a steering wheel & binoculars to add to their climbing apparatus.

Amazon was our first search. They had next day shipping for both items.

Instead of placing our online order with Amazon, we searched the following sites: Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Lowe’s & Home Depot. To our surprise none of the big 4 did not stock these items.

We searched RONA.ca & found what we were looking for. We created an account, signed in & placed our order using our credit card.

Our credit card statement showed the purchases the next business day.

The RONA website indicated the order would be shipped free within 7 business days.

After the 7 business day period & no package, we called RONA’s customer support. After a lengthy wait the CSR promised to email the supplier immediately & let us know the status that day or the following day. We didn’t hear back.

The following day, we contacted RONA’s CS Department via their chat line. The csr on the chat line provided us with a reference number for our order. The csr indicated the package was coming from the US & could be held up at customs. Also this csr told us via chat, the carrier is ups.

Our grandson’s 4th birthday is in 2 days. We have not received the package from RONA & don’t expect it arriving any time soon.

I would not recommend purchasing anything from RONA’s website.

I regret not placing the initial order with Amazon

Friendly helpful staff. It's definitely isn't the biggest garden center that I've been to and their selection is a little on the small side but they do have a very good selection of essentials. Every once in awhile I like to come to this place instead of the other across the street. I like to share my business with everyone

Rona at Stockyard location indicated in their website opening hours at 6: 00 am, I was in the store around 6: 25 am to buy material so I can start early with my project, unfortunately I was kicked out of the store to by the staff saying they open at 7: 00 am. I told the person that in the website it says 6: 00 am, nevertheless I was removed from the store. I felt like an undesirable person at the moment. Not a happy customer and one less customer for Rona.

It's fraud store. I purchase online and I got the broken rake back. The connect screw between handle and rake are broken. When I used it and it screws out automatically. I even can’t use it.
When I tried to return in store, customer service won’t let me return because the product is final sale and out of stock. Online Customer Service mentioned the return decision should be made by store. How could be?
I bought online and the responsibility in store? So I can say, this store is fraud because they gave me a broken one and can decide not refund me.

I think final sale is not meaning you can sell not functional product to customer. Especially, "RAKE" only has a one function.

I have tried all the local competition and I make this my preferred store for DIY materials in the area. I find they have far fewer "online only" items than their big orange competitor. This particular location is rarely busy, which I find nice - easy to park and better inventory levels. They have one manager who is exceptionally proficient, but could do with slightly higher staffing levels (albeit given their lower traffic levels I understand their needs to staff light). The drive-through lumber yard is a treat compared to most competing locations.

Overall I would give them a 5 if:
- they had slightly better quality of inventory in lumber and millwork (it's often picked over and they don't cull down to rough grade with the same standard or frequency as I was trained to do when I worked at Lansing Buildall in the 90s).
- they had slightly higher staffing levels.

I am so grateful to have found JP in the lumber section, and their well maintained vertical table saw that was able to get my job done. JP took his time to make sure all the cuts were the right measurements (and I had a number of precise cuts to be made), and was attentive to detail. I especially appreciated his can-do attitude: once we began discussion, I had full confidence that this job would be done and done right. I was especially relieved about this, as I had just come from Lowes where I initially had tried to buy my lumber and get the cuts done. I wasted an hour there, selecting lumber, (unsuccessfully) trying to find someone to assist, waiting near the saw, then going to the front desk to try to find help, then being told to return to the saw, only to see that in the interim someone had put up an "out of service" sign. Thank you Rona lumber yard for your well maintained saw, and JP for your commitment to getting it done right.

I'd prefer to give them my business over the US box store but the service is so bad. I can never find a Rep. It's like there on never ending coffee breaks! They should provide superior service.esp as Home Depot is next door. I went in to buy paint & NO ONE was in the paint dept.at this rate they'll lose lots of customers. I will not buy there again.

Very poorly managed. You often see staff and but none of them are ever able to help (poorly trained) or check you out. Go to Home Depot if you want service, come here only as a backup.

I've waited a long time to post this review but after speaking to corporate and recieving no response as of yet I would like to let you know that I had the absolute worst, WORST experience I had as a customer ever in my life at this store. -

We had needed long lumber for a project that would not fit in our truck so we decided to rent a van they had. After getting a description of the van we decided it would be perfect. We looked around the parking lot at that time and saw a couple of rental vans, but none of them matched the description the manager gave us, so we believed them when they said the van was taken just before us (maybe 10 minutes) and that it would be back at around 1: 00 pm. We are unable to reserve a van and it was first come first serve so we decided we would kill time at the home depot beside us and play our luck at coming back on time.

We came back on time (1: 00 pm) and were notified the customer who took the van still hadn't come back yet. Knowing we needed the van I didn't leave the customer service desk hoping it would just be a few minutes until they came in so we could get the lumber we paid for out. 1: 00 turned into 2: 00 and I inquired with them. They didn't call the customer, they didn't offer any help other than saying the van was still taken. 2: 00pm turned into 3: 00pm and my day was wasting away. Precious daylight I had to finish my project were no more.i was quite literally wasting time. I was tired, my feet were sore, and I was hungry but because again it was first come first serve we waited patiently for the car to come back. Finally after three hours of torturous waiting at the front desk, a manager (after my prompting) called the man who was supposed to return the car. What came next was truly baffling.

The man on the phone said he had returned the vehicle twenty minutes after he rented said vehicle.

Not only had they given the wrong description of the van, they had the van in the store before 1: 00pm. And we had been waiting at the store for three hours (after waiting an extra hour at the home depot) to find out the car rental keys had been on the board behind them the whole time. And the van was right outside! No one had even bothered to check and everyone working the shifts knew we were there waiting for the van. We waited at this store for 3 hours for NO REASON.

It still pains me to think (even months after) we gave up a precious afternoon due to negligence and laziness. The manger who rented the car to us after still charged us for the car rental (we took less than half hour) and when i asked for any of the managers or employees first names she ignored me multiple times.

I, to this day, almost a year after am still so appalled at being treated this way. Please who ever took the time to read this, don't shop here. They are not worth your time. Please learn from our experience. I truly feel so anxious looking back at this experience. It really was the most horrible experience I had ever had in any store ever.

Came in during the week to check out their appliances. Met a staff person, Hossein, who was quite helpful and knowledgable about many of the appliances we were interested in and informed us of ongoing promotions we were unaware of. It was an easygoing and pleasant experience. Honestly, not certain why more people don't go to Rona as we've found their service to be really good? !

Order product online, get a confirmation that product is ready for pickup, Drive 30 minutes to go get it oh, they try to Pawn off a cheaper item for the same price, where did the 30 more minutes for them to figure out what went wrong, to tell me that they don't have the product. Very dirty trick trying to switch products for a cheaper one yet the price stayed the same wasted 2 hours of my day and gas. Stockyard Rona is terrible very unorganized and they try to cheat you, be careful

Ordered online for pickup due to lockdown. Website said it would be ready in 48 hours, but mine order is not ready yet. I called the store and they said they are behind 4 days. I only bought at Roma because it was saying it would be ready in 2 days. Im going to cancel my order and buy the same item on Amazon, cheaper and faster delivery.

Completely disorganized. Did an online order and pick up, which is advertised as fast and easy. It is neither fast not easy. Don't shop here. Home Depot is across the road and it is way better.

I'm updating this review and changing it from two stars to one. It is June 11 2021, and the disorganization in Rona's ability to deliver on its promise is falling further. Recently, my wife bought a set of chairs. They never arrived, and when my wife called to check, they said that their system says we had the chairs. It has been well over a month and customer service has been rude, dismissive, and petty over our request to return our money from this purchase. We have gone through head office on about 5 separate occasions, and everytime we have left with no resolution or realistic response. They keep telling us that they cannot refund us.

Here's the bottom line: This company is in need of a complete overhaul and even then, their ship is going down. Amazon, home Depot, Home Hardware, and Lowe's have customer service locked down. Rona, if they continue to treat their customers like thieves, will erode customer trust and loyalty in a market where the main currency is changing to brand trust. I for one will never give this business another cent. Mark my words here folks, Rona is a sinking ship in a tough home product market. They won't weather the storm they are in, and this review will be a moot point in five years because they will be at the bottom of the sea.

5 day wait for 40 feet of moulding when I called in to see why such a long wait i was told there 13,000 orders behind, thats a lie as my brother in law called for his order which was 3 day wait they told him they were behind 1,000 orders and he got it that day. Now I'm waiting at the store been here waiting for 45 min already. Never again yes the moulding was much cheaper than home depot but this wait for my order and now wait at the store is crazy, won't buy from here again.on average I have bought over 10,000 from home depot this past month and always get my order within 36 hours and wait at store maybe 10 to 15 min tops

For curbside pickup, find someone, don't bother calling for online pickup.
Arrived with almost no vehicles waiting for pickup and followed the pickup instructions.after 32 minutes (checked the call log) and at least 5 vehicles that had arrived, picked up and left, I called again - no one had any idea who was picking up the order. All in all, took just over an hour. Immediately before this, I picked up something at HD across the street in under 10 minutes.

Waited for over an hour and 40 min for curbside pickup. They didn't answer the phone. Outdoor staff took the order info but didn't pass the order to anyone. One staff member said they would check on the status but went for break instead. Overall, extremely frustrating experience. Had us along with other customers yelling. They had no organized process and it was faster for people to cancel their online orders and go into the store to buy them. Will not return to this location again.

They have a good garden centre however some of their online stock items are not accurate. I bought a lawn mower online that had to be picked up at the store - the online RONA site mentioned this location had four of them in stock. It turns out, after I called the store five days later asking for an update for my curbside pick up, the sales rep confirmed they are not able to locate their stock - they advised me to cancel my order. I wish RONA would have a more accurate online stocking system or at least take the initiative to reach out to their customers within 48 hours to inform me that they are no longer in stock, rather than having me as a customer call them to inquire when my item would be ready only to find out they cannot locate their stock

Ordering for pickup is terribly slow. Despite the website saying 48 hours for pickup I have been waiting for 96 hours for order to be filled. Phoning the service desk is no help. The stock answer "we have a large number of orders to fill" is all I received. This was a simple order 3 different items. If not filled by tomorrow I cancel in favour of other box store across the street. Just not dependable.

This place was a complete mess. I purchased online and spoke to the store regarding my pick up and i was told my purchase was set aside ready for pick up because they had 2 in stock. When I got there they said there was no product with my name on it and that they had no more available. I was furious cause I paid for it and spoke to the store. I waited for over an hour for them to resolve this and then eventually they said they will give me the one they set aside for someone else. How was it possible that they had no more available and suddenly they found one with someone else name on it. To mad insult to injury I was told by Rona's customer service phone line that their was free assembly at my home with the purchase and they would call me to set a date.when they called me they said there is a 490 assemble/install fee. It seems that they don't care or their employees don't know their own policies. Needless to say I will never buy anything from Rona again.

Terrific experience! This location never disappoints, all thebstaff are very knowledgeable and helpful.
This visit, my partner and I had a certain situation with a return from a delivery of expired product. We spoke with a manager named Angelo - he was very understanding and very helpful! Seriously, one of the absolute best Manager experiences ever! We were able to get store credit and select the products we need to finish our project.
So thankful for Angelo's empathy in this situation, truly amazing!
p.s. I truly hope he sees this post.we are sooo thankful!

It has an excellent assortment of good quality alternatives to Home Depot. Their Huss lineup is actually pretty decent of not superior to that of the Depot and Lowes. Where this store drops the ball is an absolute lack of customer service. Or inept staff who don't know a nail from a door knob. Its unfortunate, but none the less this is a worthwhile store to visit. And you can collect Air Miles here too.

Never thought I would purchase appliances from Rona.
But out of all the appliances stores in Toronto (including independent dealers), they were the best place to get great shopping experience. They were able to price match and take additional 10 percent.
And the customer service was top notch! Everyone I dealt with there were super friendly and professional. (Hussein and Rubia in appliances and girls at the customer service.amazing!) Also, very fast and efficient.
I am coming back here for appliances for sure!

Manager of the store told me to come back in a couple of days cause I wanted hard to find 1" MDF cut. When I started to chuckle he walked off and told me to call customer service if I wanted to complain. CS couldn't do anything at the time I called, but the manager came around and apologized and did the 10 cuts in 30 minutes.

We have created a Uber like society, depending on others to serve our every needs. A time will come and the stove will disappear. If you don't believe me take a look at the shelves at your local building supplier. The skills your father once had to make you a home is reliant on the materials at hand. Those speciality items are now gone and replaced by scented candles. What I'm trying to say the new generation are no longer a DIY but instead a do it for me. The RONA franchise is the last stronghold you can special order products out of Quebec, other than that you are at the mercy of a contractor and I hope you have a very deep pocket.

I wouldn't recommend this RONA store unless you are well versed with what you need and how to use what you are shopping for. As some of the other reviewers have said, the customer service experience is terrible. It is difficult to find anyone helping you in this store and when you do find someone, they often act rather rude or like they could not care any less. For instance, I was recommended to a sales rep named Peter; Peter had previously helped my friends with installing their hardwood floors last year. My friends raved about him. Well, my friends and I went into the RONA. We found Peter and he was quite unpleasant, really not informative in quoting us the countertops we were looking at, and not someone I would recommend. Even my friends mentioned that he was acting a bit strange that day.but in any case, that was my one experience and all I can say is, the Home Depot down the street at the Stockyards is better service and offers a larger store selection in general

I have never written a review before but I felt the need after Rona Stockyards went above and beyond for my order today. I ordered an exterior door and picked it up myself, when I got home (about an hour away in traffic from Rona) I noticed I had been given the wrong door in terms of the way it opened. I called Rona as we had the installer at our house and there is toner service was above and beyond. I wasn’t put on hold for hours, I wasn’t dismissed. I was talked like a human being as we sorted the issue and they sent someone from the doors department right then and there to switch the doors. He arrived within an hour. Rona stockyards- your customer service today has made me a customer for life even if it’s an extra drive away.

I had ordered appliances from Home Depot who failed to show, they tossed me around from person to person for a solid 5 hours eventually rescheduling them for a week away, I will not spend another dime at Home Depot.

Thank you Rona and staff- I am so appreciative of your customer service I could not speak highly enough!

I use to really like this location but the staff are no longer interested in helping customers. Not sure if that's the company as a whole cutting staff or that NGAF. Walked around for 30 minutes looking to speak with someone and when I did see someone as soon as we made I contact they doubled back and went the other way. I don't have leprosy, I just need help with hinges.

Always an annoying experience shopping here. I don't understand how this store is able to operate. Store is seriously lacking in expertise and staff training. Some staff try, but management needs to step in take more responsibility.

First and last time visiting this store.

Promotion - Get 20% off the most expensive item in your cart, with any $100 purchase or more at regular price before taxes.

1 sander - $80,2 packs of sanding discs $15 each total $110 ($100 or more should get 20% of the sander right?)

Cashier 1 tells me the promotion only works if you buy an item that is over $100, I said thats not what the sign said, she said yes it does, then she said take it up with the manager then. (because she was so busy at 8: 15 am to call the manager over herself) Such fine customer service.

So I left my cart and walked out, stopping at the customer service desk to say is this the case? 2 ladies (much friendlier than the crusty hag at the cash) told me that yes my item had to be over $100 to get the 20% off and walked over to the sign and pointed at the "fine print".

Ok you 3 misinformed employees. See screen shot attached.

Since nobody seems to know what is going on in this store I went online when I got home added the 3 items to my cart to see what happens, exactly what the sign said it would. 3 items add up to over $100 and 20% discount taken off most expensive item (priced under $100).

Based on the multiple 1 star reviews bellow me id say this store needs a new management team, one that educates its employees, definatly a new cashier to start on Sunday mornings, but probably most certainly Lowes (Rona's big brother) should just hang its head in shame and close this Rona store before it continuers to drag its name through the dirt anymore.

This Rona store is like having an embarasing, beligerent, sloppy, moody little brother with a messy house and wrinlked dress shirt, speaking jibberish that makes no sense like a drunken hobo.

You can get good deals here BUT!
The staff is definitely not knowledgeable and their stock is a mess. It is actually possible to order stuff on their website that they don't actually have in stock.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I paid money and ordered from them and they promised to have it delivered on Monday. Called them 20-30 times to follow up and they picked up twice. They said they will look into it or call me back. They keep transferring me around. No response so far! Liars, cheats and the worst customer service.

Like with Steve below, my customer service (or lack thereof) experience at Rona Stockyard was extremely poor. The store is chronically understaffed and the few employees that they have on the floor really look like they don't want to be there. It took the front desk staff two separate PA announcements to finally get the plumbing guy out of hiding and show up to assist me. When he finally helped me to locate the product on the floor, it took me another ten minutes to pay for it simply because they only had one cashier at the front. I really would like to support another hardware chain rather than making the Home Depot even more dominant, but with their lack of attention to customers and clueless staff, I can no longer justify shopping at RONA sadly.

Staff had no idea where anything was or the prices of items, told me to look by myself and take a photo to show them when I've figured it out. Also did not honour their in-store promotion but luckily the manager Debbie was able to help me out and applied the discount to my entire purchase.

If you come here do not expect a quick in and out experience and fast customer service like at Lowes or Home Depot. HOWEVER they do carry certain products that I can't get anywhere else, and therefore I make regular trips here. I expect some wait time. They are definitely short staffed- and if you order something in here- it can take a lot longer to arrive than expected. However to compensate for this, I have had very positive experiences with customer service going out of their way to solve the above issues (short staffed, unreliable product ordering process). They went so far to drive to the Brampton location to pick up the product I needed (was supposed to be in stock there and was not) and actually deliver it to my address. So they were very respectful of my time, and transparent about the challenges they face at that location. Overall, good store. Just expect some disorganization, longer wait times, and wouldn't advise ordering product from Rona if you actually need the product in a certain amount of time (there is no reliability in timelines for product ordering). Otherwise, great deals here, good owner and management, and some more obscure product I can't find elsewhere.
