The customer service is very bad
The woman who I asked for help was very rude not helpful at all

Rude costumer service over the phone.
I was just by this afternoon, I called while in the long lineup, I couldn’t understand a word the lady said over the phone and she hung up. So when my turn finally came, I explained that I tried calling and they hung up. The staff at the door says, you were put on hold, why didn’t you call on the drive over? I responded, I don’t call while driving, she said: put it on speaker (as if I have their number saved on my phone). Ruthless people, you will NEVER have me as a costumer again. Train your staff to be polite, understanding of what costumer service means and not to make assumptions. You’re running a business, not a zoo!

This store just closed. The hardware and the tile center are now just to their other store on Morrow at Dundas. Parking not much better there

I loved visiting this store and learning from the knowledgeable and helpful people there. I'll try to look forward to when the store moves to Morrow (very soon).

Wasted an hour of my day going to and from this store to find it totally closed down. Looks like it has been closed for some time now. So why on earth does the location finder on Home Hardware's website still list 172 Ossington as being open? Also, when calling the number listed, some poor sod on the other end explained that his personal number is being used on the website and he receives dozens of calls a day. HH should look into this and fix it. I won't be spending any more money with this company.

Rude workwrs no help just want you to buy and leave. If you need help or have questions I suggest you go somewhere else.

The lady would not stop chatting to help me and I asked the only guy at the counter to make a key for me and he made me walk to the counter and back and forth just to get a key made with my my back in agony and another guy asked for garbage bags again no help run around the store and try to find something in the bottom shelf pushed to the back at the back of the store

Timing is everything.
Gilda was a great help in assembling a complete washroom purchase durring covid shutdown.
Got premium fixtures at very reasonable prices due to location relocating.

I’ve been a patron of this HH for 2.5 years. I am a local business owner. I’ve always gotten good service. The female employees that I’ve mostly dealt with are friendly and helpful. Especially the woman with the blue dyed hair. My experience today was bad enough to warrant me to give a 1 star review.

Not having been to this location for over 3 months, I was unaware that there was no longer curbside pickup. I asked the floor manager, a large gray haired man, about the new rules. He informed me that I would have to call ahead of time and that I would have to wait 45-1hr for my order. His tone of voice was very aggressive and his overall manner was dismissive.

I proceeded to call and place my order. A man with a European accent took my call. I’m used to the staff being helpful, in so far as making recommendations on what the best options for tools and materials are. Unfortunately this was definitely not the case this time. Again, I was handled very rudely. The staff member was condescending and refused to give helpful advice. Overall it was a disappointing and frustrating experience. In the future I’m going to make an effort to go elsewhere. It’s a shame.

Extremely poor experience. Multiple staff personnel were rude on the phone when I asked a simple question regarding a product. When I spoke to the manager he said "they don't have time for questions". Save yourself the time and avoid this location.

Unless your roof is about to cave in, avoid at all costs. Low selection, managers who don’t know their stuff or make condescending remarks. Brutal, visit the one in Liberty instead.

Another good place to to shop for those things that you just can't do on your own very friendly helpful people

Stephanie has a horrible attitude. Do not shop here. She had a mask on and I could not hear what she said, I asked her to repeat herself she just gave me attitude for being half deaf. Go to Home Depo, at least Stephanies there don’t have attitude. Don’t get pushed around with your own money.

5 stars for the two men, black and older white man in the showroom who were so helpful. The two older white men in red shirts were so rude and completely ignored me as I tried to ask a question before checking out with my purchase. Literally walked away as the cashier told them I was waiting to speak to them. Honestly don't bother with this place. Ps. I am young black woman and I feel that's why they ignored me.

Seems like a very comprehensive inventory and really knowledgable and helpful staff. Lots of ideas worth windowshopping!

This is a great Home Hardware. The staff are helpful and the store has handled the COVID 19 restrictions really well.

So much packed into a downtown hardware store. Came here to get keys cut - fast and friendly service. Surprisingly large bathroom section.

Inconsistent. Information given over the phone about ordering has been different with different phone calls and from when in store, frequently has sold me items at the register that aren't actually in stock at the lumber yard when I've gone to pick up.

The staff were so nice and helpful here! We had an issue with some Emtek door knobs that we bought from a different store. The sales associate went above and beyond to fix the issue for us, even though we didn't even buy them from this store in the first place! Highly recommend.

Love these guys, definitely one of the best lumber yards in the city. And if they don't have it, their sister store 5 mins away has it. By far the best cedar quality and selection in the city!

After going here for 40 years i got into a disagreement with one of the employees i specifically asked not to be served by. After walking into the store she insisted on talking to me in a condescending manner so I got upset and asked her not to talk to me. After that she asked me to leave the store and said they would not serve me. After I complied and went home shortly after I received a threatening phone call from the owner threatening physical violence.clearly they have no idea what real customer service means to be treating a long time customer with such disrespect.

Terrible customer service. Don't waste your time going there. They don't care about the customer. I tried to find someone to answer a question about some kitchen hardware and had been passed on to multiple (3) associates and then when finally someone served me it was a very rude man who wouldn't even let me get a word in to even ask my question. His attitude and tone were disgusting. What kind of service is that? You are there to help people as this is an area most people come in with some questions. So I walked away.taking my business elsewhere. The employees who work here need a big attitude check.the disrespect is shocking.

This is the worse location, with the worse staff. I have been renovating my house for months, and live a walking distance from this location - which means I shop there very frequently. The staff is consistently rude and unfriendly. They are unhelpful, and every question asked feels like a bother. They are condescending and will barely lift a finger to assist. What is particularly astonishing is how they are consistently rude! The staff is miserable and do not fail to show it. The WORSE location and WORSE customer service I have ever seen.

Home Hardware on Ossington is far more than a place for tools and hardware. It has a superb kitchen and bathroom division that rivals anyone and uses top-notch contractors to handle their installations. We have used them for flooring, toilets, and installing two bathrooms. Professional with high quality materials. Recommended.

Very convenient West End location, close by busy neighborhoods. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The ordering process seems a bit archaic- one makes an order with one person, then must go to another who is only about 8 feet away and make a payment - could be simplified. The wood selection is ok, but could be better- every now and then we were sent to a different location for some Brown Pressure Treated wood items, only after we made a payment (at which time one would expect that the cashier would know if a certain product is in stock at that location, or not).

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. I’ve lived in the neighbourhood for about four years and every time I’ve gone in there I receive some of the worst customer service attitudes around. No one cares to smile or even look at you, including the cashiers when you approach the desk. And the employees on the floor don’t seem to want to help you solve your problems in anyway. You’re not made to feel welcome or important, and in fact made to feel like an inconvenience and nuisance. This behaviour is consistent throughout much of the staff and over the years I’ve had the displeasure of everting the premises. The owners and managers of this location could do with prioritizing customer service.

What horrible customer service. Called to see if they had a product. They answered quickly, transferred me twice, then was on hold for a few minutes before I decided to just drive there as the other Home Hardware I was at said they’d most likely have it (they said they had it too then got to the store and turns out they don’t carry it at all). I drove 18 mins to their location, all while being on hold still. When I got to the store, I asked to speak to the person I was on hold with still and she wasn’t busy or with a customer. She looked mortified then said they didn’t carry that product! Unreal lack of service or care. Save your time and head to your nearest Canadian Tire for better selection and service.
