I work at Alta vista manor. Home instead has been in our building for a few years now. I can absolutely say that their staff are absolutely amazing. Especially Shanese Darrell! She has taken her time to get to know our resident and provide exceptional care. Also Wendy E their care coordinator always makes herself available. When our home has any questions. We are truly appreciative for all that you do for our resident.

Thankful for the quick and timely 1: 1 companion Alzheimer's and Dementia Care PSWs. Hussain was so calm, kind and patient with my mother. She says "He's such a lovely man. " Thank you.

I was discharged from hospital early following surgery for a fractured hip. My daughter came from Vancouver to help me. She was very concerned about leaving me and the help I needed at home. Services were quickly set up. We were both pleased that the two home support workers came the week before with their co-ordinator to meet me. Kathy and Marta came daily for the first week making my breakfast; helping with personal care; doing some light housecleaning and making my lunch when needed. As I improved the service was reduced. Now I feel I can manage. Thank you Kathy and Marta. You got me on the road to recovery.

We have Terry from Home Instead providing regular care for an elderly family member and are delighted with the Kind care that Terry provides. It has been over 5 years since Terry became our regular caregiver. Having consistent, reliable help has been important for our family member and helps us as well in managing the arrangements. Thank you!

My husband and I have been very pleased with the care he received from Bukola. She always arrived on time and her bubbly personality was a breath of fresh air. She carried out his physiotherapy exercises at each visit and took care of his every need.

My dad fell and broke his hip in December and when he came home he needed additional support beyond what my mum could reasonably provide. Physiotherapy, exercise, and some general physical help. What we got was so much more. We had a few misses with getting the right carer at the very beginning, but Home Instead was extremely quick to respond, and to narrow in on exactly what and who would be the right fit.

Cat in particular, was incredibly supportive and helpful. And now we have Cassie. Who my dad adores. She not only helps him with his exercises, but she continues to encourage him to strive for more. He looks forward to her visits and feels good about his progress. She pushes him (without being pushy!), she tells him stories and she makes him laugh. And sometimes that’s the most important thing of all.

I am so glad we found Home instead and the fantastic team.

The Caregiver (Louise) we've had the past 3 years through Home Instead has been amazing, truly excellent care, and very grateful for assistance she has provided to our mother. In addition to this, the customer service & care coordination has been top quality, both in their effort in locating such a supporting Caregiver, and in supporting the day-to-day service as it's needed. No better.

My husband became very ill in December 2020. Home Instead Ottawa provides us with a PSW twice a week. Even in these very difficult times we have had their wonderful caring people to help & support us. Thank you so much Home Instead!

We used Home Instead to care for my wife while I was away for 3 weeks recently and she assured me that the care was so good that I didn't need to return Cody Howe was one of the caregivers and demonstrated a level of attention and professionalism that went beyond the call of duty. He provided appropriate care and additional support to keep my wife engaged and busy. Excellent service. Shout out to Anna and Christina who were part of the team and kept her engaged and diligently completing her exercise routine such that we saw improvement in her mobility.

My family and I reached out to Home Instead in Kanata three years ago for caregivers. My parents live in a retirement home that also has assisted living. We hired Home Instead’s staff to care for my Mom every morning for 4 hours and every evening for 4 hours. If I could rate this company with 100 stars, I absolutely would. Shaun, the owner; Lisa, the director of client care; Vanessa, our service coordinator; and Lise, the supervisor have all been absolutely phenomenal. The caregivers they employ are experienced, kind, caring, reliable, hard working and compassionate. It is incredible how much my Mom has improved under their care! She now laughs, eats by herself, sings, is so much more aware, understands conversations, she is HAPPY! OUR FAMILY THANKS YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS

I’ve worked for Homeinstead in the past back in Montréal it is a good company to work for. They’re very attentive, friendly and organized. They do care about their staff and specially their clients. It’s just that they didn’t have enough hours to offer, other than that they are excellent.

The staff and care givers at homeInstead have been terrific. My dad has been using homeInstead for almost a year and he is doing really well, even during covid. So, if you need help for a loved one or anyone, I highly recommend them. I know I can count on them. Tks for being kind, patient and so helpful.

An update to respond to reply from owner: Appears facts received were not fully accurate and/or initial conversation was not understood. Our family had actually reached out seeking care and told that no PSW services could be provided due to shortages. We just wanted to get confirmation of that status so could instead get leave to provide our own support, until company support could be made available.but was told that the company was not willing to put this in writing - and why conclusion was made that interest was to protect image. Original note below.

Very disappointed. As background, after much searching, we had found this company and liked their approach and found they met our standards for quality care. We also liked that they were a family-oriented company (or so we thought). We were seeking support for our elderly mother who has Alzheimer's. We had used them in past for their companionship service but, as our mother's condition started to progress, we asked to search for a PSW to support her increased needs. After a search was done, we were advised that one could not be found, and were left to search out another. Fast forward - now in a pandemic - our family had made changes to support our mother by taking part-time hours only. With the opening of Phase 3 in Ontario, I had been asked to search out support and/or to justify extension for part-time work pending find of an appropriate PSW to support our mother. I was given a deadline of 2 weeks. I had asked if the company could provide this support, or at least provide a letter to state that more time was needed for search or to simply state that this was not possible given the shortage of PSW during this pandemic - with the intent of getting support to extend my part-time leave so could search out support. This request was denied. They were focused on their company image as did not want to advise on any "care plan" with their company name (still do not understand what this means). Expected that, as a family-oriented company that cared about its clients, this request would be supported - but appears that they are more focused on their image above helping an effort to support the needs of a person in need. We are now left to search out support from another company that may not meet quality standards. Just want to emphasize - they, like any other company, will be focused on their image. Unfortunate.

We've had HomeInstead helping my StepDad out since August. They have been kind, courteous and go over and above the call. Without them, moving him back home would have been a much more stressful experience. Now we have a solid team supporting us 7 days a week. Affordable, flexible and great to work with.
