I really like this school ITS NOT THAT BAD ANYMORE (as of 2023). The new principal is nice and fair to everyone. The new teachers are pretty good and fun too and actually teach people. Idk y theres sm hate comments on the art teacher HES A W TEACHER. Hes acc so funny and humorous like yall need to calm down, js cuz he's colorblind doesn't mean he's not a good art teacher. Leave the man alone honestly Ive made sm new friends and met such great ppl and i enjoy my time a lot. Sure the school is a bit bad sometimes but thats alr there are many opportunities to improve (in progress fr). The students are pretty rude and yes, they do say many inappropriate things but it's like that in MOST schools, especially this generation. The education is not top-tier but it's also starting to improve bc of the new teachers. I enjoy and like this school so far and I hope people give it a chance

Honestly not worth it so don't come here.the school got so bad after the pandemic.you can walk down the halls and you will hear students (usually english kids) roaming and yelling slurs for all the classes to hear, ive heard all sorts of things including the n-word being screamed in the halls (and in rare occasions, they waltz into classes mid-lesson just to disrupt or say hi to their friends.feels like all the teachers are sick of and fed up with it, but none of them make a move to stop them, probably because they know these students don't care and will continue to do it anyway)

all the good teachers left (understandable really) and while i don't know how it is this year i don't expect it to be much better.respect to the few good teachers who still work here.anyway in short the two years i spent here made me want to die real bad.so so glad it's over.but honestly i miss the bus 5 driver the most where ever you are

I had an old review from last year but this year I graduated but i still have some things to say.
First of all the school was pretty bad and ended up on the news. Also there are a lot of people who say slurs and are just rude. Most of the teachers left and took long breaks from weeks to months. For example we had no french STEM teacher for like 5 months and juggling music teachers for 3 months. No one cares if you broke the rules and there were so many kids ditching class in the halls or bathrooms. Also we got a new principal at the end of the year she was pretty good for the last month that we had her. At the last day of the school year there was the scent of smoke in one of the hallways and someone tried to burn down the school using a lighter and toilet paper in the girls washroom. Tbh that year I didn't learn anything except that Mr Mick is gay. Also I had major trauma and mental health problems all year and only 1 teacher barely supported me and it wasn't even the guidance counselor (no slander to the guidance counselor). I guess that's what therapy is for. The only good thing was choir and dpa for me.anyways slay the day away bestie boo's.

Homelands is a school that takes racial discrimination lightly. It is really disturbing to say the least. If you are a parent who has a child that has witnessed or experienced racial discrimination while enrolled at Homeland Sr. Public School. I am enrolled at homelands and here it's basically just slur academy and if a parent with an autistic child absolutely do not send them here. I am autistic myself and I get called "sped kid" everyday and harassed by other students. Do not send your kids here autistic or not.

Do not send your children here. Some of the teachers' favoritism has gotten so bad and it is showing, and the people here take racial discrimination lightly. But aside from that, Ms. Doiu and a few other teachers were very nice but most of them left or is taking a break. In general, if you want your child to be called slurs at, come here!

We keep trying to connect with Principal but no luck. We are unlucky that my kid has to go to this school. Whole school team is terrible, if you go to school, you will feel that no one is taking any ownership or responsibility but they are highly expert in making excuses and throwing back words.
