Love the atmosphere! The sourdough bread is to die for. Service is a bit slow, otherwise it’s a great cafe right in the center of downtown Barrie. Definitely recommend!

This place is always phenomenal. Unfortunately when I was there there were literally 2 cookies left. Very disappointing there weren't enough pastries made to last the whole day.

Homestead has been a weekly (+ more) grocery stop for my family for the past couple of years. The bread and bagels are amazing & we can’t eat any other without feeling the same level of satisfaction…as well as feeling healthy after from the high quality ingredients used. We recently asked Homestead if they could make 30 slider buns for my husband’s birthday party & they followed through with the best slider buns we have ever had. We give Homestead a 5 star review and highly recommend the products offered.

Came 40min before "closing time" so excited to hopefully finally try a decent place. Restaurant was still full of people and people before me. When I walked up to the counter the rude person said "the kitchen is closed". Unacceptable! Never coming here again.

Great experience for my first visit to downtown Barrie. Close to the waterfront and on Historic main street.

Great bakery and cafe. Food and coffee is always really good and the sourdough bread is fantastic. The only criticism I have is their hours. I'm rarely able to go because they close so early. So I end up at wired owl down the road instead.

We usually have quick bites here during our weekend walk. The breakfast sandy is very tasty with either sourdough bread or whole grain croissant. Price is very reasonable. Food is well prepared, and presented.

Wow! Once again, “Let’s try something new! ” landed us in yet another sweet spot!

Busy on a Friday morning was a good sign, the a look at the baked goods, even better!

We settled on Eggs Benedict on a bagel and the Sourdough Waffles… both to die for!

One of the nice things about eating out with my girlfriend is her tiny stomach… I always get stuff transferred over from her plate.so I ended up with a pile of delicious ham with my waffles, and enough baby spinach to make salad for a small village!

We’re definitely coming back here the next time we pass through Barrie!
And the time after that, we’ll try something new… or maybe the time after that! Lol

PS. This end of Dunlop Street East seems to be the happening place… so maybe we’ll find more excuses to visit Barrie!

This tucked away cafe was a happy accident. My fiancé and I were greeted by the amazing staff that made us feel at home.

We highly recommend the Breakfast Sandy and the Sourdough Waffles! They were both light and oh so delicious!

$6.13 for this. Lukewarm coffee and and a small bottle of water. Ridiculous. Will never be back

I was told a story today of a woman that is visually impared of her experience at Homestead. The staff were so kind and helpful and over the top generous. I just want to say thank you for what you did for her today. I will definitely be supporting your business.

Delicious sourdough bread. 10/10customer service. Regular brew coffee and general menu could be worked on but still so yummy.

Homestead is a great local spot in Barrie. Their breakfast sammy is amazing - best croissant sandwich and so fresh! Great coffee as well and their aged cheddar bagels to go home are so delicious. Great spot for coffee and breakfast and good ambiance to work to have a coffee date.

Really decent local bakery, their sourdough is delicious, and I haven't had a bagel that's come close to how good Homestead makes theirs. Their coffee is average, not the best I've had, and I usually stick with the baked goods. I just wish it was a bit more affordable so I could go there more regularly instead of just as a treat.

Highly recommend the Breakfast Sandy and the Avocado Toast! My team and I loved the atmosphere & enjoyed sitting on the patio!

Time to hire some new barristas. A gallon of warm milk and a bit of coffee is not a cappucino.

We have "The Local" which is a turkey sandwich on sourdough bread with a garden salad.
Food was fresh and delicious.

Awful coffee, staff have no sense of customer service, don't listen to requests or rely them to co-workers. Overall, it was a poor experience.

A super cute bakery and café! Love knowing the baked goods/breads are fresh. I also like that I can put a loaf of bread on hold in the morning.

This place is a real hidden jem! I had the beetroot toastie of the day and it was one of the best things I have ever had. The taste topped the beauty!

I went there today for the first time.great selections available in a nice location. They also provide a few vegan options. One thing you must try is their sourdough bread. The staff is really helpful and cheerful,  and they take the time to explain what products are the best in their store and which ones you should try.
Recommended place for coffee dates!

Enjoyed a delightful breakfast here and picked up some bread and treats too! The two eggs and toast breakfast was tasty with the really delicious bacon and savory additions. The coffee was also very good! All in all, a five star breakfast!

AVOID! It would be zero stars if it could be! I ordered a mocha with vanilla syrup. Unbeknownst to me the cafe had run out of dairy milk and without saying anything to me made my drink with soya milk. As someone with oral allergy syndrome and a severe nut allergy (I carry an epi-pen) safe to say I pretty much immediately had an allergic reaction. After heading inside to ask about cross contamination I was told about the milk swap and wand steamer (which is used for all milks). Staff seemingly didn’t really care, but my friend did secure a refund on my behalf.
