The service and food is reliably pleasant. Aside from it being a sports bar and me not liking sports, this is one of my favourite places in this part of Ottawa

This used to be my favorite spot, but the service was really bad my last 2 times. The prices are outrageous, even with inflation. $23 for a cauliflower wrap with fries.pretty much everything costs $3 - $5 more than it should. This is really disappointing because I think the food is delicious, but who tf can I afford a $25 wrap with fries, plus a tip for mediocre service?

Their daily specials are worth checking out. Half off pizza on Sundays.

Arrived to be told we need a reservation for breakfast. First we have heard of this and we have been going there for over 25 years! There were many empty seats and they still would not seat us because we had no reservation. Not happy!

I go every Sunday evening to play board games with a group that gets together there. The most food I ever order is a small fries but other people get their dinner and play and eat at the same time. It's a rather noisy place for gaming but board games are pretty easy to play even with noise and people you don't know. It's a very convenient place to get to by bus and with lots of parking for those who come by car. The board game players take up a third to half of the whole place. It's lots of fun from six until quite late but I would really like it if they had less noise.

Great casual place for breakfast. Good and plentiful food. Prices are reasonable. Pleasant staff who are always willing to please. Sports bar environment but well worth a visit.

I've had (mostly) the pleasure of eating at Hometown for many years, having taken friends, family, and business associates at all times of the day, including special occasion brunches and parties booked in their private room (penalty box). This is one of the first and few restaurants in Ottawa that have a great amount of Vegan options, but also traditional meat/poultry/fish dishes. It's great because they've done a great job accommodating everybody. Lately, I've noted the service and food quality have been on the decline. A couple of years ago I would have given this place 5 stars across the board. Unfortunately it appears there has been a turnover in staff, which based on many experiences have impacted the promptness and accuracy of service, and the quality of food. In the last month alone, I've been 3 times, once with business associates and twice with groups of 15+. Each time there have been issues with the service and food. On the last outing, the manager was kind enough to offer a restaurant credit to help balance out mistakes with the order. It really shows that our experience is important to him, however, there seems to be a pattern of recurring issues. Perhaps lack of process, lack of employee training, or simply new employees unable to meet the service levels of what this restaurant once offered. I still like this restaurant and will continue to frequent it, however, I am concerned what the future will hold as there has been a noted decline in the offering.

My immediate suggestions to bring it back and possibly surpass where it once was:

- Ensure orders are taken carefully
- Ensure group orders are delivered within a reasonable amount of time (recently some people in our party had to wait 10+ minutes following the first dishes delivered)
- My interest is primarily the Vegan offerings and would like to see items such as the Beyond Pasta reintroduced, but also would like to see some healthier options added to the menu as most currently are super processed or fried.
- Ensure staff are aware of the trust given by guests with respect to Vegan items and their careful preparation - have experienced mistakes, which are not acceptable.
- Have a manager visit each table to ensure the experience level is great

Please take this feedback as constructive with my intent to benefit the restaurant, but also to flag issues. I would be happy to re-review and alter the ratings based on my future experience.

Came here for the first time in years for my partner's sister's birthday and it was just a great night! Food was delicious, the server was super nice and rolled with the senses of humour at the table (which really goes a long way and I wish I got her name because she was EXCEPTIONAL), and I think the only not-amazing part was just the crowd behind us at the table. It's a sports pub/bar so you should expect a bit of rowdy and lively conversation though. Overall, awesome. Just an awesome night

We need a venue for a very large group. The staff were extremely helpful ahead of time to arrange a space and to make sure we were well looked after. We were given access to private area and there were no extra charges for that, plates and cutlery for the cake we brought in etc. Basically, they were very helpful and friendly and a great place to celebrate. It is always hard with large groups but our server was so pleasant and was working very hard. We appreciated that.

It was Mother's day brunch. Service was mediocre. They had the door open to the outside seating, which made the room chilly. The food selections were simple but good.
Vegan options were more creative than non- vegan

It was really great experience. They have a really great nachos and chicken wings. It was fun.

Overall one of the best restaurants in Ottawa.

Adding 2023- still a great restaurant! Came here for breakfasts, dinners and the mothers day brunch. Excellent food especially the greek food. The server Dan is excellent.

The service was brutally slow. The restaurant was half empty and they were in way over their heads. Also, the kitchen had run out of rice and potatoes. How does that happen? The food was barely mediocre. We won't be coming back.

Only stopped for a meeting and didn't eat. However, the service was great and prompt.

Amazing experience! We were on a bus trip to a hockey game and stopped before the game! My smoked meat sandwich was amazing and staff was super friendly and provided fast service!

Hometown Sports Grill is my favorite spot to watch sports and hang out with friends. The atmosphere is always fun and inviting and the staff is always friendly. Plus, the food is delicious and they have a great selection of beers! Highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

Good food, good prices. Went for the hockey game and was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. If your looking for a quality sports bar that doesn't break the bank this is a very good option.

This place is a gem. Standard pub fare, and an outstanding vegan menu too! Great beer. Great service. Very impressed!

Great atmosphere. If you go for breakfast, don't have any time sensitive plans afterwards. I've gone with a group of 8+ a few times and spent around 2and a half hours every time. Food was decent. Would recommend going for lunch or dinner. Great spot for sports and beers!

This is a good sports bar to go to if you want to watch the game, enjoy a beer and snack on some pub food. We got a combo of ribs, 2lb wings and chips for $40 that was plenty of food to share between two people.

Sports bar with many tvs. Service was okay considering how clearly short staffed they were.

The food is amazing, the vegan menu is surprisingly large and the servers are always incredibly friendly and accommodating. The inside can be very loud and overwhelming, so if you have any sensory sensitivities I'd reccommend their patio in the summer! I've been here many times and have absolutely never had a problem with anything. Get the oreo hushpuppies, they taste like heaven!

We lived in the area about 2 years ago and that's when we first tried Hometown. It was fantastic - but my vegan spouse had limited options. Flash forward to last week and we were totally blown away! An entire vegan menu with SO many delicious options! We are so impressed with the level of care (separate cooking utensils and stations) that goes into ensuring peoples' restrictions are met. I opted for the vegetarian pizza and fries and they were so yummy and I had plenty for leftovers the next day. The vegan gyro was flavourful and the jackfruit sandwich was incredible. 10/10 recommend Hometown for your next sports night or date night!

Went in to watch the fights with some homies from the east coast and wow! Amazing ambiance, great staff despite the full house. Had an absolutely epic night watching sports, drinking and enjoying the vibe. Thank you to Liam (exceptional pour), beautiful servers and epic owners. This place is a MUST! Good times guaranteed!

The gruff male dominated energy from the staff can either come across as 'hometown' or just rude. Have to ask for things a bit too much - which is fine. Just tip accordingly.

Huge wings - even at half price, a bit expensive.

I eated the food and it was yummy. I think their food is good because it tastes good. I went to the store today and bought some candy because I like candy. I also bought a Coca-Cola because I think it is yummy too. *SLURP* YIPPEEEEEEEE COCA-COLA!

Went for the half price wine.appetizers are pretty standard pub style food. I know it's a sports bar but it is really loud if you're trying to have a conversation.
