Extremely bad experience. Promised 5 visits with their basic weed treatment and fertilizer service, but they told me that I would only be getting 4 visits because I joined too late in the year. Charged me the same amount as if receiving 5 visits. On 3 of the 4 visits, the technician stayed at my 12000 sqft lot a total of 15 minutes. I was even charged more for having such a big lot and they didn't do a good job. Complained to Hometurf customer service multiple times but only received a call back about my complaints once. I got tired of complaining so I just cancelled my services for next year. There is no reason for me to continue my business with them. Avoid this company at all costs.

We tried this company this year. Will never use them again. They left burnt spots due to poor application. Our lawn had weeds and clover for the first time in years. Customer service never once phoned me back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND WILL CANCEL YOUR SERVICE WHEN YOU DON'T GIVE THEM POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Don't waste your money and find a company that actually wants values and treats you well. Be prepared for the company does NOT communicate or contact you whatsoever. They take your money and randomly show up to do the work. They ask you to complete a feedback survey and if it's not positive they'll cancel your account without actually speaking to the customer or addressing their concerns. Don't believe them when they say to contact them so they can make it right.waiting over a week now for someone to actually get back to me.

Great work and pleasant staff. Have returned at least twice as I forgot to leave my gate open. No hassle at all. Cheaper than my former lawn care team who you never heard from or saw. Would highly recommend.

I starting using Hometurf at the beginning of the summer of 2021. My lawn was in bad shape and improved dramatically after the first year, and still looks excellent. The results speak for themselves.

I am writing this review with deep disappointment and frustration after my recent experience with Home Turf Lawn Care Company. My interaction with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my negative experience with others to prevent them from making the same mistake. Not only did they fail to meet my basic expectations, but they also left my lawn in a worse condition than when they started. It was clear that they lacked the attention to detail and professionalism that I expected from a reputable lawn care company. I asked many times for an expert to overlook my lawn problem, even sent photos, but never get any respond. Their lack of professionalism, poor quality of work, terrible communication, and unfair billing practices have left me with no choice but to seek alternative lawn care services. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice and explore other options. Home Turf Lawn Care does not deserve your business or trust.

I have been with several lawn care companies in the past 30 years. I found Hometurf conducts business without pressure. They simply perform their work well, and resulting more of our neighbours join Hometurf.

Hometurf Lawn care is a family business and it shows. Recently my lawn that they care for ran into trouble after weeds application. Andrew from Hometurf came and really showed they care.he knows his stuffs, he took his time to repair as if this is his home. He is so courteous and accommodating. I appreciate his work and your Hometurf support.

I had service from Weedman last year. They did great service last year and this year I have signed up with Hometurf for better price and more visits. But Hometurf did terrible terrible job. I have a corner house and the yard looks really ugly and full of weeds. Even after 3 visits it did not stop any weed. On top of that they never scheduled any visits until I called them.

Definitely not worth 370 dollars for season. I can do better job than them.

I have purchased the early bird package back in March 2021, and its November and I still have not gotten my full treatment. They came twice in July and twice in September, applying the smallest amount of fertilizer and not doing the things that matters the most like aeration or over-seeding. Absolute waste of time and money

Don’t waste your time or money. Can never get ahold of them and when you do they promise one thing and go another. All they do is spray weed or fertilizer or don’t spray where they agreed and I paid extra for and my lawn looks no different then doing it myself. Actually had to do it myself on top of service. Asking me to renew? No way! Should be offering mkney back for poor service. Tried them once and I’m DONE!

This company looks after my father's lawn. Maybe because he is elderly they take advantage of him and don't give him quality service. They didn't show up to fertilize his lawn for several days in a row and when they did finally show up and 'fertilize' they put a handful of fertilizer over his whole lawn! (his lawn is 220 ft deep) What a joke. This will be the last time we use this company. Please do not use them especially for your elderly loved ones.

Do not reccomend. They did not show up when scheduled. Customer service poor. Hung up on me when inquiring about service dates. Correct amount of fertilizer being used is questionable. I will be using another company.

A sign was placed on my lawn that Hometurf performed their fertilizer treatment. I was shocked since I'm working from home and at my kitchen table all day long. I did not see anyone in my yard. When I reviewed my camera footage, the technician did 1 single circle around my front lawn and did not even enter my back yard!

When I called to discuss this issue, their staff will not let you speak to a manager and simply put you on a list for a re-spray. I left 2 messages for the manager however they never call back. The technician came to my house to perform the respray and this time sprayed weeds in my back yard however not the front. Did not even remove the fertilizer spreader from his truck! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I never complain, but this is just ridiculous.

Update as of Novebmer 22 2021:

I emailed the feedback center as told. No reply after almost 2 weeks. This showed how serious they take your feedback.

I switched to this company as I read good reviews on them. I found the service was not even up to par. I had a package with weed control/fertilization/core aeration etc. The service was delayed everytime. They have multiple receptionists who are not very helpful. I booked a spring core aeration but only knew that they were not able to do it due to delay and delay. They said they would do it in the fall. They called a day in October and asked me to mark all the sprinklers so they could do the core aeration the following day. Since I was not able to do the marker ontime, i requested a rescheduling to another week. They said they were going to come out the following week. Did not come. Week after week until i called a few times indicating that my irrigation system was closed and if markers are gone (blown off by wind or other reason), I would not be able to replace them. Finally they came on November 10th. The guy showed up at 8: 30 am and left before 9 am. I have a big lawn. I did not find the residual usually left after aeration and found out that they did not do it. They replaced the core aeration by something called liquid aeration as indicated on the reciept that the workman left in my mailbox. I called and inquired. The receptionist told me that that was what they did due to Covid. I told her that it was not true as i was booked for core aeration since beginning of the season. They did try coming out one time except I had to reschedule. I was also never informed of change of service type. After prolonged fact checked (my numerous calls?), she finally agreed to give me my long waited aeration next year. Not sure if i will get it. I requested a confirmation for that outstanding service but was declined. This is not a very good experience for me and I don't know how it gets its good review. Anyways, i am keeping my finger crossed for my core aeration.

I decided to use a lawn care service because I had a bad weed problem and a very patchy lawn. I have lived in the house for 3 years the years now and have been slowly working at it myself.i finally decided I would see what a pro would do. 4 days after they came to do weed control I would have dandelions blooming all over my lawn. Half of the weeds would not get sprayed. The writeup sheet that you get after service that has recommendations would always say the same thing not mentioning any weeds that are growing all over dog urine spots that are present all ove or the rampant crabgrass that I am constantly battling. The technician would not spray anything along the sides of the house for some reason even though that is part of my lawn. I highly recommend you go somewhere else or spend $400 on weed and grass seed and do-it-yourself.

I used Home Turf and they completely ruined my lawn. I did not want to use their service this year but they sent someone out to fertilize in the spring and then sent an invoice shortly thereafter. I called and informed them that they had completely ruined my lawn and that I would not be using their service and they apologized. Fast forward months later, they are still calling me to collect on their service and said they are now sending my invoice to collections. Horrible company, stay away!

I should have pictures for before and after. I didn't apply any type of seeding or fertilizing in the past 7 years. The lawn was looking terrible and full of weed. I just mow the lawn today and I can say it took time from first visit in May until now, but the results are amazing and brilliant. Thank you Hometurf Team! Well done.

Waste of money. They will spray weed control on your backyard 4 times a year. That's it. The chemical aeration doesn't work and I still have the same problems as before. It will not make any difference. They asked me for feedback, I gave them and they told me that it will add extra applications. It didn't happen. We are close to the end of October and they want to renew to the next year already and I am waiting for my aeration. Other companies did on my neighbours in May and I am still waiting. I don't recommend it. I would like to have my money back. I will do it myself next year.

Happy with the service recieved from HomeTurf during the 2021 season. I've signed up for service in 2022 but had to down-grade the service due to Hometurf raising its prices. If I recieved the same price for 2022 this would have been a 10/10 review. Still Hometurf is a great company with good service.

Signed up with Hometurf recently and after confirming the services included, I paid for full season. After an hour got a call from them telling me that one of the service (vegetation control) was not included in that price, although at the time of signing up they said that it will be included. I asked them to cancel it and close my account which they didn't do right away and said that their supervisor will call me. Two days have past no one called. I have been calling them but the customer services people said that closing the account and refund has to be done by supervisor. Very much disappointed. I am going to report a fraud against this company. Customer services is worst than any.

I am unfortunately disappointed in the service I received from Hometurf. Chinch bugs were rather destructive and I was waiting for the appropriate treatment to be applied. When it was two weeks outside of the treatment window they indicate on their own website I called. I was told somewhere on their website it said "all services are weather dependant". The call to customer service was very disappointing, the rep was very abrupt and would repeatedly interrupt as I was explaining my concerns. I have called twice during the season as the time intervals between some visits were significant. I suspect for the 2021 season they are short staffed.

Giving this 1 star is being generous. This is by far the worst home lawn care company I have ever dealt with. They do not come at any of the intervals they state they are coming. It is coming to the end of October and my lawn has still not been seeded or aerated and it will still be another 2 weeks “weather permitting”
they have come to my house only 2x this season and the one time that they came they fertilized my neighbours lawn and not mine. What a waste of money. There is 0 accountability. You call customer service and they don’t have any way to get in touch with a manager or anyone responsible and they won’t even allow you to cancel early to get money back. I’ve sent emails and surveys to their company and have still no response. Stay away!

An email confirmed my scheduled date for grub control and the guys never showed up. I was home all day so I would know. No one bothered to contact me until I called the office the next day and was told that the job was rescheduled for the day after. No one showed up on that day either. There was no sign on the lawn to say that the treatment was applied. When I called again, the woman on the phone insisted that according to her records, the application was applied. What a joke, I was home and never saw them come. She did agreed to void the order. Totally unprofessional and unreliable.

This company is a SCAM! They will send invoices for service that has been completed years ago to other owners/tenant and FINALLY sends it to collection without any written agreements.
This company needs to be brought to the MEDIA else they will continue to SCAM the public!
They do a really good job of leaving a feedback replies saying to contact them via email but they never respond to emails or phone calls. I wonder how many people out there in GTA that is being pulled into this scam!
They are smart enough to lock their small office so public does not have access to address any issue. Only choice you have is a phone # and email which gets ignored all times!
STAY AWAY and bring your concerns to local authorities if you want to rectify this company's scam.

I have been a customer of Hometurf Lawn Care for a few years now and they have done a terrific job. Recently I had a problem with chinch bugs and Ryan treated it - and did an additional treatment - along with some helpful advice on how to bring my lawn back to it's healthy green state after a large portion had gone brown and bare. Very impressed with the customer service and would highly recommend to anyone.

I am absolutely dissatisfied with he services provided by Hometurf Lawn Care. I purchased a lawn care package which included aeration and overseeing which was supposed to happen in the spring. It is fall now and even after multiple attempts to contact their call centre they still have not aerated or over seeded my lawn. They just continue to say that it will be done at the next service. Well 3 services later it is still not done. I had a similar experience when I called early in the year about getting my weeds sprayed. This company is all promises and no follow through. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and even when I ask for my money back they just promise that they are going to do the service the next time then it never gets done.

This company does not stand behind their service and they don't take responsibility for anything. They can't even bother to call us back, they don't care about the customer. They say they will complete a lawn analysis with each visit which they don't. In our case when the tech came to provide our weed service they noted that every thing wass okay, meanwhile we have dead patches of lawn. We had to repeatedly call them back to investigate why we had dead grass. The first lady on the phone had the nerve to blame us, telling us we watered our lawn too much. Finally when they got around to seriously looking at our property, the small dead patches are now four times as big and our whole lawn is turning brown. We now have a major chinch bug infestation, which could have been quickly treated if this company knew what they are doing. It's interesting the tech noted that we are to water to avoid the bug damage The so called Manager of customer service can't even bother to call us back so we can get our lawn treated. If we don't hear back from them, we will be demanding our money back for such poor service.

I see the typical response, asking the customer to contact you. We have phoned and emailed you already three times with no response, why would we do it again. I'm sure you can figure out who we are and contact us if you wanted too!

HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! This is my August 30 update. Still a big waste of money. They came back for a “complimentary” second weed application. The stuff they use is called “Fiesta” and it does nothing. Weeds are a strong, tall, and healthy and the grass looks like crap. No refunds given because their “system does not allow it”. I haven’t seen them in weeks. Read the reviews to see how many suckers like me there are. I will note that the people the send to your house are nice, friendly, and work their butts off in the sweltering heat. Unfortunately the program is totally ineffective in promoting a healthy lawn. I have more stunning weed photos posted.

Definitely 0 Star. I would not recommend this company at all. I signed up for their "Complete Program" + weed and grub control. They do NOT appear to care about your lawn. They have hired inexperienced people to apply the product. The "technicians" do no not have any valuable recommendations.when you ask them questions, they have no clue.

One of the main reasons I hired Hometurf is because they advertised that they can effectively manage Grubs and other lawn pests. I have emailed them repeatedly asking them when they will come out to apply the Grub application. The answer was "late summer". It is Aug 30th and they have still not applied the Grub product. When I called they said they will start the grub program in September. What a joke. I have severe damage to my backyard lawn as a result of grubs which could have easily been avoided if they delivered what they promised.

I am not normally a critical person. I rather praise than give negative criticism. In this case, Hometurf has completely failed.

For those out there looking for a company to help you manage your lawn, I recommend you select another company besides Hometurf.

We have been using Hometurf Lawn care for over 10 years and during all that time, we have not been disappointed. Admittedly there were one or two occasions where we've had to call them back (eg it rained shortly after they applied Fiesta weed control) and there has never been any issue. They promptly send out a tech to resolve the issue.

They also provide a free fall fertilizer application, which we always take advantage of, to help the lawn foster root growth over the winter.

We would heartily recommend this service provider to anyone looking for a reliable, inexpensive lawn care company.

This is an exceptional service that hasn't skipped a beat since I signed up several years ago. They are prompt and polite, from the service people who come to the door to the staff in the office. They use quality products and our lawn has never looked better. Neighbours consistently comment on the health of the lawn but I have to confess Hometurf is responsible - I just cut it. If it were left to me, I probably wouldn't get to putting on the the Spring fertilizer until the Fall. I highly recommend this service.

They have the worst business practices.
I have signed up for lawn care service in 2016. The treatment they provided had some to minimal effect but was far from what I expected my lawn to look like after the service. As a result I did not sign up and renew my service for the next season of 2017. However, Hometurf decided on their own to renew the service without my consent. I have communicated with them on several occasion that I did NOT sign up for their service and request they stop providing lawn treatment to my lawn. I have spoken to their customer service indicating that I have not signed up for the service. They seemed to ignore my request becuase they continued sending their service staff to continue servicing my lawn without my consent. They even sent me bills and called to collect payment for services I have not signed up for.

The other day I check my credit score and see they have forwarded the balance they claim I owe them to a collection agency and listed it as an outstanding balance on my credit report!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL PROVIDE SERVICES WITHOUT YOUR CONCENT AND BILL YOU FOR IT!

I have been with Hometurf for many years. I like that their price remains fairly consistent over time. Their service people are always professional. The only issue is with the weeds. Ever since pesticides were banned, Hometurf has not been able to manage the weeds effectively. However, I imagine that other lawn care services are in the same boat.

We have been HOMETURF's customers for over 10 years. We have a corner lot and requires a lot of lawn care. Despite the ban on weed killer in Ontario, with Hometurf Eco friendly products we managed to keep our lawn reasonably weed free.

I'm very happy with the results.healthy, thick green grass with no weeds. The price is exactly what you sign up for, there are no bad surprises with the billing. The courtesy calls to remind me of service dates are very much appreciated. The tech's always leave a report letting me know of any concerns or recommendations. No comparison to my prior experiences with Hometurf. I have resigned with Hometurf for 2019 and expect to be with them for a long time. Definitely give them a try.

I have used Hometurf to take care of my lawns for about 6 years now and I have the best lawn on the street. They arrive as scheduled and do a complete application of the treatment called for. I have never had reason to complain, in fact I have recommended them to many family and friends. An excellent company that gives great customer service.

If NO Stars was an option I would choose it! Very poor customer service!

This was my second year with Hometurf Lawn Care Service. Last year there was a marked improvement in my sad, patchy and weed-invaded lawn. They did a wonderful job as it had been neglected by the previous owners.

I was eager to hire them again this year and to my dismay the service and end product were terrible and not worth the money paid. I expected it to be as good or better than the previous year because of all the tlc it had received from myself and Hometurf in 2017 however it was quite disappointing to say the least.

I watered the correct amount and had purchased add-ons to this already expensive service (for my budget on a single salary). I added 'patio weeds' and extra seeding. Well my patio was so overrun with weeds that I had to go the old-school route of making many trips with boiling water to kill the huge weeds before an outdoor family party. That money was down the drain. I had to fight to get a refund for that because their customer service was so poor.

Both front and back lawns were patchy and showed no evidence of overseeding with huge gaping areas. Both lawns were overrun with tons of weeds which seemed to be the only thing flourishing. When I called them about my concerns I was told, " Why don't you go and buy seed and seed it yourself? " I was flabbergasted and irate! I pay them all of this money and I must go and buy seed on top of it and do it myself? Then why am I sacrificing my already tight budget to pay them?

I spoke with Desiree in Customer Service and stated how upset and disappointed I was with the service this year. I cancelled renewal for next year. I also said that given the poor service, I would like a refund of sorts or at the very least to not have to pay the final $25 installment.

Nope.they could not even step up to write that off. They sent me to collections instead of appeasing a very disillusioned client.

Had they attempted to rectify the situation, looked at the pictures I was offering, refunded part of the fee and offered a discount of sorts for next year if I would allow them to regain my confidence in them. I actually would have given them another chance! Now. I am officially no longer ever hiring their services and instead of a satisfied client who was well-treated and respected by their customer service, they have earned a 'former' client who has told all of her neighbours and written reviews stating: STAY AWAY FROM HOMETURF! If 'zero' stars were an option I would give it!

They take your money and so long as they are paid they do NOT care about your satisfaction, nor do they go the distance in terms of customer retention.

Thankfully, there are MANY other options other than Hometurf for lawn care.

We have been using Hometurf for 4 years and are completely satisfied with the results. Our lawn steadily improved from the first year and today it is lush and green. We purchase the "Complete Program" each year and have never had an issue with the service. The treatments are performed regularly and efficiently. There is always a summary sheet provided after each treatment. It captures the treatment performed, total treatments to date and an analysis of the mowing/watering habits and grass condition. Certainly we would recommend Hometurf to anyone looking to go with a lawn care company.

Bunch of BULLYS and CROOKS all rolled up in one! Very disappointed with this company. I have used them for a few years in a row and then decided not to renew for the following year. So I did not send in payment for this coming year. However, they went ahead and came out and applied Lawn Treatment while I was away. They then sent me a bill for the services. I called them and told them that I did not wish to renew and that I did not send in payment because I did not wish to renew. I never authorized any of the services that they performed this season and I refused to pay them for that reason. They would not listen to me. They would not send me a contract saying that I had agreed to sign with them for year after year. Now after many months they have decided to send my bill to collections. Absolutely unethical and absolutly unprofessional company. Is this how you make money from customers? Providing a service that wasnt authorized and then bullying people to pay for it anyways?
