Homewood Health Centre

I booked an appointment, on zoom and the counselor never showed.
Booked a new counselor and she showed once and cancelled the next two meetings.
I'm glad it's not a mental crisis.
In conclusion booking with Homewood is such a bad choice that you're better off solving your problem on your own.

Finally almost back home, but still not out of the woods. Prayer & meditation and Jesus.

Although I tested negative for COVID they kept me locked in my room because I was in “close contact” with someone who had COVID. Only allowed to go to the bathroom. I did no therapy because my room had no wifi. 0/10 I could have locked myself in a room at home.

I attended the IMAP program in 2004. I went in suffering from debilitating anxiety/panic disorder and some depression issues. I found the program excellent, caring, and on target in each class I attended during the 2 months. I was discharged feeling far better than when I was admitted. I've just reviewed my own Homewood Admittance and Discharge Summaries from 2004.

I'm truly astonished at the negative reviews here. Can Homewood have changed SO much in 19 years?

Currently, I'm in a bad relapse situation with the anxiety/panic issues. I'd like to take the step to find help at Homewood again. Now I'm not so sure.

I'm rating one star at this time because that's how I feel about possibly returning to Homewood. Apprehensive. That's not good.

My work has decided to use them as a third party consultant for medial issues. Sounds good on the surface but I have had to deal with them twice about my mental health and both times I was denied for "non medical reason". All I was asking for was to move from 5 days, 8 hours to 4 days, 10 hours. I have 4 doctors and 2 therapists giving me notes on how this will be beneficial to my mental health but Homewood has denied me. I even asked the credentials and specific reasons why I was denied and they refused to provide the information. I also asked to speak to someone directly and they refused saying they only consultant over email for "security".

I just called and spoke with a very rude receptionist. They cut me off mid-sentence and put me on hold. When they returned, I asked to speak with their manager and they said no. I then proceeded with asking my question again, was put on hold again, and when the person returned, they responded with an unhelpful response and hung up on me before I had the chance to say anything else.

Very confused with the bad reviews on here.
You take out of homewood what you put in it.
This review isn’t about select nursing staff or quality of food this is a REAL REVIEW.
No doubt I am assuming Covid restrictions destroyed the programs because of virtual classes, etc.however it’s back on track now.

The AMP (addiction medicine program) served me well. I got clean, sober and learned essential tools to help me stay sober. I even learned a lot about past traumas in my life and how to deal with them. Now it is up to me to stay on the right path to a better life.
One of the best decisions I have ever made was going to homewood. Then again I applied myself and got as much as possible out of it by focusing on why I was actually there. Recovery group therapy was great although so was my therapist (not everyone has the same therapist)
The new friends/connections I made was an amazing take away as well.

I do not have anything negative to comment on…. If you are an addict or alcoholic and are considering homewood. Do it.

A family member just attempted to contact Rural Wellington ACTT. It has been a struggle to get him to make the call and the Homewood was a great disappointment. The woman who answered (at 5: 25hrs Jan 03.) was impatient, derisive and rude. She was clearly agitated when she could not find his file in the Homewood "System" and she hung up on him. I was listening nearby and would not have let him be impolite. This was an unprofessional encounter with someone who should have some training in patient empathy.
