Hoops Sports Bar & Grill

This gets two starts instead of one, only because the food was good. Our group of 4 waited over an hour and a half for our food order of 4 apps and a salad while others who were seated before us received their food in less than 20 minutes. No waiter or waitress came to apologize or let us know our food was running late. When I flagged staff they simply said “We have like 99 orders ahead of you. ” As soon as it came out of course they messed up the easiest meal which was a salad I had asked for no pecans, had pecans.

I also ordered a Lycheee Martini which was joke. The glass was half full and literally looked like water. I had to ask my friends several times if they had taken a drink while I was in the bathroom or if they had replaced it with water.

Our original waiter was no where in sight. A different waiter checked on us once and turned away before we could even finish speaking.

We then also waited over 30 mins after finishing our food still no check. I asked a random waitress to please grab our check since our original was nowhere to be found. About 15 mins after I got up and asked if she grabbed the check. Extremely flustered and panicked she stated that she was not our waitress which I obviously knew but working in the service industry normally you communicate with colleagues to let them know if a table was looking for their assistance.

All said and done a completely new waitress ended up giving us our check at the end.

Oh and the entire night no one cleared out our table to make room for the main courses. It was literally overflowing with glasses and dishes.

Our last night in Toronto we spent there 11p to 2: 30a while we just wanted to grab a quick bite and head out on the town before our early flights.

Followed by excitement post jays game (who won by the way) The hostess sat my group of 4 down on the patio where we sat down at our table. Only to be Followed by the “manager? ” (We think?) who came out and chased us down to the table and asked us to get back out in line behind all the people we were initially in front of? We’re not sure he had any idea what was going on, however be made sure to embarrass us I front of the whole patio customers. Ego maybe? We’re not sure either? But thank god to the kind hostess. Either way not a good first impression. Certainly embarrassed to say the least. What a joke. Next time we’ll go back to eleven resto where they take care of incoming customers. Zero stars.

Another downtown trap- food is below mediocre and overpriced while service was ok and attentive. I would not recommend this place.

Just had dinner. The food was just awful. Ordered a chicken wrap which had hard chunks of meat and taste was just bland. Same was the story of with Quesadilla. Stay away from this place. Don’t waste your money

Every time I’m in Toronto I visit Hoops. The best atmosphere after baseball games. Great staff (Carly) always fun and friendly. The manager is very welcoming and respectful! (I left my phone there last night) a bit of a panic as I do not live in Toronto. I was greeted by the Manager as he laughed and said he tried to run out after me that night to return my phone. Thank you! I’ll be back again and again!

Very dirty establishment. I was seated at a filthy table and got up and left. I did not end up trying the food.

Tourist trap. Only go for drinks. Do not eat here.

Great place to watch sports and have drinks with friends.

Server took my order for the drinks (2 beers and 2 cokes). Got the 2 beers but didn't get the cokes. Asked another server for 2 cokes.she said ok but didn't get it. I guess the place ran out of coke and didn't know how to say it to a customer.

Rotten vegetables, burned food.terrible service took 30 mins to even get drink orders. Would not recommend

I really liked the atmosphere of this place. It has a very sporty feel for sports fans with so many tvs showing a variety of sports and yet you can do your own thing if the sports on tv doesn’t interest you.
I ordered some food and drink. They both were great. I loved the salmon especially - grilled to perfection.
The staff were friendly. The music was very good!

I'm a limo driver: the ladies working the bar Saturday were absolutely fantastic! I had to drink Pepsi but they didn't care or anything.they let me watch the game. Thank you so much! It was a great experience for myself and my customers.

A group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) had dinner here yesterday. The service started out to be great but quickly declined. The restaurant was full, we were seated in a little nook right inside the door. The air conditioner above us was dripping all over one of the kids and the floor. We told our waitress and she said "we know" we showed her our child's pants had wet spots all over them and she said it's been like that for a while.why seat is there then? When we got up the floor was slippery and it was right outside the washroom.so dangerous.

Now for the food.

We all got our food at different times with long waits in between. My friend's mom and aunt had their food and no cutlery.it took us about 10 minutes to flag someone down to bring us cutlery, and condiments. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to come to the table when we initially ordered also. The food was mediocre. The kids pizza was burnt and had clearly been sitting there a while and our fish was over done. Not good all around.

We asked to pay while we were still eating because everything took so long. I had a $100 bill.the waitress told me she couldn't give me change because the bar is too busy. I said so you mean to tell me if I pay my $40 bill with this you keep my change, she said yes. It's just too busy? ! The alternative was paying with 2 $20 bills and leaving no tip. My friend had to do the same.

Needless to say we won't be back.

When my party and I arrived at the restaurant I requested a seating for 7, the host put us at a table for 6 without getting an additional chair. Put 3 menus both food and beverage on the table and walked, we had 2 children with us and she did not offer or suggest they had a children's menu. I stood in the isle waiting for the hostess to come back with an additional chair, she did not. When I did see her again I advised I requested a table for 7, which she grabbed grabbed a chair from another tabke and basically plopped it down beside me to sit in the isle. I was ready to walk out of the restaurant because of lack of professionalism and ignorance

Now let's get to the good part, our waitress came over and I asked if they had a children's menu, which she got us and at the same time another hostess came over said they had just cleaned a table for 8 and asked if we would like to move, which we were very happy to. Everything was a go from there, our waitress was exceptional, food delicious, the kids LOVED their pasta and ice cream, and my strawberry daquiri was top notch!

Glad we stayed, don't let an unprofessional hostess deter your stay here, because it was worth staying

Us to man with glasses by the bar: Hey, you know the pipes are dripping here?
Him: Yeah, we know

I think if you're seating people at a restaurant/bar it should be mentioned that there will be constant dripping from the ceiling in front of them. The service here was mediocre and if you have the option I would suggest elsewhere for that reason alone.

The pipes from above the middle portion of the bar area are constantly dripping onto the table and it seems none of the staff are concerned with alerting their customers to it's occurrence.

Below average experience in downtown Toronto for lunch. Should have read the reviews! The food was made by someone who never cooked in their life! Pizza burnt, chicken wings overcooked, service staff new to the job, beer flat! To pay our bill it was most unorganised excellence you can experience as a guest. Reminds me of tv show - kitchen nightmares!

A clean bar, the daquiris are great. The staff are lovely, can’t recall the name of the staff member that took care of us but she was lovely and friendly. We went after the Jays game, and the queue wasn’t long.

I arrived with my 3 kids around noon and loved that we had a great view of the CN Tower from the patio. The hostess seemed bothered by our arrival and the fact that we had a stroller. Sensing her hesitation with the stroller, I suggested a couple of places where we can park it, to which she said no and made no effort to offer a solution. She finally said, “You can leave your stroller here (just inside entryway doors) where we usually keep them. ” (Why didn’t she say so from the beginning?) Our server was pleasant, but never came back after serving our food until we asked for the bill. The kids didn’t get their ice cream that was part of their kids’ meal and I had to point that out to her - she adjusted our bill accordingly. I ordered the wings (non-breaded, thai sauce) that were on daily special and enjoyed them. The kids enjoyed their pizza and spaghetti. The kids drinks came in a glass and I would suggest offering plastic cups for children. I would come back for the food, but highly suggest an improvement in service quality.

Worst experience ever. Me and my mom came to this bar on a Saturday and it is no way that the restaurant is busy. But we were left sitting there for over 10 minutes with nobody came, not even the lady led us in to ask us whether we wanted water. Whereas a guy sat at the bar got immediate attention and got drinks. I then waited a bit longer before stopping the lady led us in to see if we can place order or at least have some water, to which she said I will call the waitress. We were placed back to the waiting game for another 3 mins or so, I was frustrated and walked up to ask if I can speak to the manager, the “manager” came and told me around 10 minutes of waiting and getting ignored is no big deal and I should not get upset. Well guess I’m just impatient and no good enough for your restaurant. Feel very isolated and uncared for, hated this place and will never come back. Do NOT recommend anyone to come and honestly, if there’s a less than 1 star to give, I will.

Took a weekend trip to Toronto Canada and ate at Hoops Sports Bar Grill (Downtown). I ordered the Chicken Alfredo. Despite the broccoli being cold and seemingly not cooked, it was good & tasty. My husband ordered the Thai chicken bites and said they were delicious. He also tried their Hoop Poutine. He said they were good, But I didn’t try them. We ate outside on the patio, therefore The atmosphere was loud and busy w/traffic and pedestrians. However, not a deal breaker for us. I actually enjoyed it.

Our burger buns were covered in green mold. When we notified our server - they asked what we’d like to do? Uh, have some mold-free bread please. They eventually brought us some but did nothing else to improve our experience. Be sure to inspect your food carefully here.

Meh. The food was mediocre at best. Service was slow and inattentive. Nice outdoor patio. A lot of workers standing around doing nothing. No offer of second drink. No condiments offered. Someone needs to clean the glass entry doors, they're nasty.

Food was okay. But a little pricey. Waitresses seem miserable never said hello or smiled once.

Sat outside and instantly they had to check me out even gave a 20% plus tip and she or any of the other waitresses came to ask if I needed anything additional.
This is a trickle down affect of bad management and ownership.

Get with Hoops we live in a review world and they mean everything. If you’re wondering why sales are up and down change this.

It’s the process not the results.

Went for lunch while at work. We told them we were on lunch break, and asked them to rush it. It took the full hour for them to get the food to us (I ordered salad). We ended up taking it back to our desks in to go containers to eat there instead of the restaurant. They weren't even busy, we were the only ones on the patio.

When I got back to work and opened my salad (an hour to make a salad!), it was a mess. Sad and small and the goat cheese was just a solid puck in the middle. For $17.

Our server was really nice though.

Employees wearing very short outfits that are inappropriate and don’t tell you that there specials are before 4 and charge you…

Best sports bar in downtown for a game event. They have tv all over up down right left. Too good
