You will have a great time here any day of the week. There is a bar out front that doesn't charge cover. There is a stage in the back that has shows every day!

Lots of fun, good place to see a live band. Don't look too closely at the surfaces you are putting your drinks on.

Great spot to see live bands, a decent selection of beers, and an order window through to the A&W beside it. Great spot.

Love this place, it only lost a star because they closed the kitchen and now serves A&W through a window. Great show venue, usually draws a great crowd. One of the last of it's kind in this city.

This is a Queen West classic. I’ve been coming here for years and years for live shows in the back of the venue.

They don’t serve any food, but they have an A&W window that you can order from, and they allow you to eat the A&W food in the bar area.

This place is great!

I came here for the first time to see Jukebox the Ghost play in September 2018.

As soon as you walk in, you can feel the history behind this bar! All over the walls you can see pictures from past musicians that have performed here in the past. The staff are also super chill and so friendly.

What I really liked about this venue, is that there was actually seating in the back room no too far from the stage. I'm all for a nice intimate vibe of standing near the stage when a band is performing, but I love that we were able to grab a few seats not too far back and chill during the performances.

I had a nice evening at the Horseshoe tavern. The service and the show were great. That's the kind of place where any type of people can feel welcome based from what I saw

So, I'm basing this on one experience at this location for a live music show. It has a very classic "dive bar" vibe. Unless you are close the site lines aren't awesome. Sound is decent however. Beverage selection is as you would imagine. This place has been host to a who's who list of bands over the years and the experience is classic. 3 stars for being great at being what you are! -2 if. Being critical.

Honesty my new favourite venue in town. Great sound, awesome view! Thanks so much for the great night.

The ladies were so nice! Thanks for giving this The Tragically Hip loving Atlanta girl the kind treatment.

A solid Toronto staple. Affordable drinks, quintessential dive bar service, and enjoyable live local music that you can either choose to listen to from a distance in the bar area for free, or pay a small reasonable fee to get up close and personal with.

Awesome place for live music and to see bands play! Their sound setup gives justice to the bands unlike many other bar venues. The sound is great the setup is great. Great friendly knowledgeable staff on the bands and great beer prices- far less then other places that have horrible sound and bands. No wonder this place is legendary in Toronto!

The Horseshoe Tavern has a longstanding history in the Toronto live music scene. You're always sure to catch great bands there. Drinks are cold and the staff is friendly.

The seem very helpful to regulars but less so to a new face. Rhis was my second visit in as many years.let see how it is in another two

Classic old school Toronto bar and concert hall. Enjoy the environment and A&W that is connected to the building 24/7.

One of my favorite bars for over 20 years best place to see up-and-coming bands on random nights you can see high and acts like Blue Rodeo or others come in and just play.you don't have to go in the back to listen to music you can stay at the front bar and enjoy the game of pool meet nice people and enjoy the music from the bar without having to go to the back bar where the actual music venue is! I love this place

Legendary spot for a reason. Good beer, good staff, amazing music. If you haven't checked out possibly Toronto's most storied music venue yet, what are you doing?

I don't hand out low ratings often, but their unbelievably rude bartender, an older "gentle"man certainly made it easy. It's a loud venue, if a patron is trying to get your attention, it's not hard to simply say, "Give me a moment", rather than literally yell and lecture about "manners". Ridiculous and immature behaviour for a grown man.

In line with some of the other reviews, as soon as you walk in you're hit with an horrible stench of sweat. This location has history, but should put more effort into maintaining its allegedly good name. It's a dive bar type setting, which I will give it credit for; the setting fits the theme. The bouncers/doormen were lovely as well.

All that being said, I would recommend against coming here in case you meet the bartender and he's having an off-night and it's a shame there is no option of food aside from A&W to go with your drinks.

Went there for the first time for an Indie concert. The venue is inmate and dark, typical of a bar. If you're coming for a concert I would recommend standing close to the stage. You won't be able to see anything if you sit in the back (especially, if you're short like myself). The most interesting part of the bar was the A&W window!

Super fun concert venue with a quick bar and a direct A&W ordering window. Great shows and great atmosphere!

I went to this bar to see "the tea party". The bar is located in a pretty convenient part of the city for me. There were a lot of people crammed into this place but it was a great show. The staff were friendly and the service was just fine.

Checked it out on Canada day because most other places were closed. Was a semi decent place to get a drink but not a place I'd want to hang out for the night.

A Toronto institution. From the small patio out front to the checkerboard floors in the back, anyone calling themselves a Torontonian must have at one point had a drink here.

I've seen a few shows here and it's always a good time. The best part by far is the A&W hole-in-the-wall, literally! Beside the bar is a touch screen ordering kiosk for the A&W next door. Pay with card and in a few minutes or so, a hatch will open up and your food will be shoved through, not unlike your baggage at the airport. Novelty aside, because it's the same A&W menu food prices are much lower than almost any other bar. What's not to love?

We visited on Saturday with friends from the US. Fun place, nice concert venue. Pool table and ample seating at the bar, tasty cocktails. Bartender was great and we really enjoyed chatting with him.:)

The Shoe is a staple bar in Toronto. I've seen countless shows here. More Indy rock, rock, and experimental. There is a strong sense of nestalgia when walking in a place where many of the greats have played. Most of the bartenders have worked there for 25 plus years.

70 years old and still going strong. Horseshoe holds a special place in my heart. The best bands, the best bartenders, and located in the centre of it all.
