I've only ever ordered delivery from host india but every single time the butter chicken was out of this world!

Took a friend for his first Indian meal, he doesn’t like anything to spicy, he had the butter chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it, good service, Will go back next time I’m in the area.

They prioritize Uber and Skip drivers. Service was rude, after waiting an additional 30 min for the takeout dinner the manager/owner told me to sit and then ordered me when I didn't comply. The meal was supposed to be ready in 15min, it took close to an hour. The food was good, authentic but found the 9 chunks of chicken in the butter chicken a rip off for the cost, the quality of the chicken was questionable. I have to say that the fresh naan bread is amazing.

This was an online order. I don't know if the staff is just plain incompetent or they forgot my order. The order was made by 4: 08pm on a Sunday and we were given a pickup time of 4: 40. It was 5: 25 before the food appeared and that was after spending quite a while having them search through the wee bits of paper that weren't my order only to have someone finally say "oh, you must have ordered online, not ready yet". What the? When the food finally appears, no apologies, no offer of a discount, or coupon for another order, nothing.
The food was okay but not worth the wait. Order elsewhere is my opinion.

I posted the above review 2 years ago. While their butter chiken and Vegan option is still amazing they now charge you $23.99 for JUST the butter chiken. If you want rice you now have to pay for separately for 5.99 and Nann is 4.99. I'm super appalled!

Top tier food right here! They’re usually pretty quick as well. I’ve been chasing their recipe for butter chicken but am still not even close. Lots of food for the price and the quality is always top notch

Excellent food, but discouraged by the price increases.rice or naan are no longer included in the butter chicken dish, and adding it on is an extra $5.99. Soda was unreasonably priced at $3.25 per can. The garlic naan also cost $5.99 while regular Naam $3.99- I'm not sure how the garlic justifies as extra 2$?

I love the quality and taste of the food, but have a hard time spending so much on dinner.

Will continue going here but only for very special occasions.

Host India is always on the top of my list. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. The food is to die for with great and big portions.

Paid $54 for butter chicken, naan & 2 vegetarian samosas and no rice provided. I know Chinese restaurants that give rice and throw in free rice once you spend over $30. I order from other Indian restaurants in Ottawa that give rice when curry is ordered from last month. This restaurant can’t afford to give rice with butter chicken? ! This is the cheapest restaurant. The samosas are burnt. Why are they burnt? There isn’t much chicken in the sauce. It’s all sauce. I’ll have to add chicken breast and make rice. They have lost a customer of 12+years who brought friends & family there. Never again. I called and the worker said they stopped giving rice with curry with no apologies. I didn’t even get to mention the burnt samosas. Never ordering again & I will let everyone know where to buy good Indian food that provides rice… I can understand not giving vegetables but rice? A staple? Go to Royal Indian cuisine, Kochin Kitchen, Taj Mahal - anywhere but here.

Prices on here should be updated. FYI. We were there yesterday and I asked for mild butter chicken and got hot so we packed it up and took it home.

Do not order from this place I made the mistake of ordering a tikka masala from them, and my food came out. Absolutely terrible. It was under cooked and there was no milk in the curry sauce. It was absolutely atrocious do not order from here on Uber eats.

The food is very tasty. Unfortunately, the business decided to raise the cost of their food, as well as no longer including rice or naan with their curries. When asked about it, the restaurant claimed that was never the case. So on top of raising their prices, they’ve also increased their lying.

Had a good lunch Thali for 20-25$. The fresh naans are amazing, so is the lamb vindaloo (a little too spicy for my taste, I'll try the lamb curry next time). It will be my option for lunch time indian food now that the Lagoon won't open for lunch. And it is a really good alternative!

Restaurant: everytime I eat as this restaurant I have been more then satisfied with their food. At first glance you get a sticker shock as the food is priced in the 20-25$ range but the food is soo worth it. Portions are also big. You may have left overs to eat it again later and a good portion. The urge for my review cam from a poor experience with the staff on the day I ate. I don't want the Restaurant reviews to be affected hence the 5 star.

Employees: on Sept 29th 2022 for lunch time service (roughly 1pm to 1: 30pm) there were 2 female employees hostelling and serving. These ladies ended up having a loud argument that lasted a few minutes near the cashier area. I was seated near that area and it was not pleasant at all. I looked over at 2 occasions in order for them to noticed that it was not pleasant. One of the employees glanced at me and noticed it but they carried on with their argument at the same sound level. Later on my meal another argument occurred but this one was shorter.

I understand that at a workplace there may be disagreements but there is a time and place to share these. Perhaps in a back room but not in an open area where all your guest can hear you well.

I trust that the owner will attend to this and speak with the individuals involved. Thank you.

Food is great. A little disappointed the meals no longer come with rice or naan. As someone who previously ordered very often this has really turned me off.

My most favourite butter chicken ever! And I’ve tried many. Their portions are always generous and you can’t go wrong with the buffet where you can try new foods as well as the classic Indian favs!

I’ve ordered from this restaurant quite a bit and I find the food to be quite good; however; they have recently both increased prices and stopped including naan with their curries. While I understand price increases given the current economic environment, increasing dishes by approximately 20% while also, at the same time, requiring me to spend another $4 for bread was a tough pill to swallow.

Very good food, they are know for their buffet normally. But with covid they changed their menu. I suggest ordering say 1 butter chicken and share between two people. Rice and Nan bread are now sides, order 1 of each for 2 people. Staff is very friendly and service is excellent.

Butter chicken was bland with dry chicken chunks and the samosas were way to spicy to be enjoyable.

Very pricey for food that was just ok. Onion bahji was very doughy and not much onion from what I tasted. The lamb was tough. The chicken curry was ok, but the sauce we make at home has more flavour. I don’t understand all the great reviews, maybe it’s because of the large portions. I would rather have less on my plate with more quality in the food. Also, I guess because of the prices, we expected a nicer restaurant, instead we felt like we were in a cafeteria. Will not be going back.

We order from here quite often - everything is delicious, well prepared and quick to be delivered. Yummy butter chicken with high-quality cuts of white meat.

My wife and I did our wedding reception in their banquet hall downstairs. They were AMAZING HOSTS! The food was fantastic, they went above and beyond with everything. The food was great, decor fantastic, and the bar service was incredible. I'd recommend their restaurant any day, but if you are planning an event talk to the owner because their service and hall were perfect.
