Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema

The projection is very good, the seats are comfortable the upward screen is unique but content is what theatres are about, and that is great at the Hot Docs Theatre.

Volunteer totally STOLE my sunglasses. I left them by my seat. Realized 5 minutes after I left and came back in to the theatre cleaned and my sunglasses MISSSING. No one there knew/had any idea where they were and where the volunteer was who had just cleaned the theatre a couple minutes prior. Absolutely bizarre and disturbing experience. Obviously thieves work there. Everytime I’ve left something at a cinema (ex. The Revue or The Paradise) I have gotten it back.

I would love to be able to give this cinema a good review but when the absolute basics are amiss it overshadowed all that was good. I watched an interview for over an hour where the audio did not match the live to feed video of the participants showing on the screen. When you are in the upper and lower balcony you cannot see anyone on stage. So you rely on what you see on the screen.

I completely forgot about this cinema until I walked in last week. I had been here a few years ago for the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Its a cute little theatre, definitely a throw back to the old timey picture show theatres, with a little stage and everything. Pricing is not too bad for show and snacks, less than going to Cineplex that's for sure. 10/10 will return.

An essential part of the community in Toronto - so many excellent films have been shown here that the place is filled with a feel of creativity and adventure. It's a beautiful theatre located minutes from the Bathurst Subway Station - also near lots of cafés, restaurants and stores - I always drop into Midico art supplies across the street when I go to a film at the Bloor.

Classic theater with balcony seating. It's best to make use of the coat racks as the seating is tight.

I haven't been here in many years. They renovated at some point and. Wow. Great space to hang with friends and catch a documentary.

Great venue with comfortable seating. Well air conditioned. Take a sweater.
Lots of popular food and drink nearby, to grab a bite either before or after a show.

The seating is comfortable. I am 5ft 4in and I had a full, unobstructed view of the panel I was there to see. Really that is my primary criteria for a theatre so good job.

A little old feeling but it’s a nice size theatre. Was there for the fly fishing film fest and the crowd was easily accommodated. Two levels makes viewing from the back rows of each level very good.

Great programs and events. Friday night openings are fantastic, often quiet and they manage to get producers or directors to speak at most of them.

I frequent this theatre way more than any Cineplex. They have fantastic films, comfy seats, and a great atmosphere! Who knew that a movie theatre could have a community feel to it?

Incredibly moving experience having the contributors to the documentary there after to answer questions. Nice that they had snacks and drinks available too!

This cinema provides the incredible opportunity to see the incredible work of documentary filmmakers telling the stories of real people.

Saw Fantastic Funghi, wonderful! Great theatre, lots of fantastic food and drinks and very comfortable.

Absolutely my favourite cinema in the world. I wish I could talk about every gem I’ve seen here. I hope you get to, too!

I'm sure that it's a nice place and everything, but when they had technical difficulties and made us wait outside for 30 minutes, we didn't even get to watch what we paid to watch. And there were no refunds, just a guest voucher. What a waste of time and money.

What a lovely experience. We were here to watch "They Shall Not Grow Old", a story of World War I, like its never seen before. The movie was amazing, the service was outstanding.such a clean & kept theater. There is AMPLE leg room in all rows. I would definitely return.

Outstanding venue! Clean and comfortable both upstairs and downstairs! Cost is very resonable. Surprising that there is lots of parking along Bloor and the many side streets. Employees are very friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience for the documentaries you are not able to see elsewhere.

I have never had anything even resembling an unpleasant experience here. I've just renewed my membership for a second year. The value with a membership is fantastic!

Just watched a documentary on John Vitale - who worked as Stanley Kubrick's assistant for 30 years. I highly recommend Hot Docs.

Clean venue, staff were very efficient with getting a massive crowd seated! Went here for the Toronto premiere of the M. I. A. Doc!
