Sadly we were not impressed with the equipment/cleanliness of the boat.
The smell from the toilet tank was unbearable even though we barely used it. Also there was no winch to pull back the anchor which had to be done by hand.
The ladder to get on/off the boat to go for a swim is quite flimsy and not stable whatsoever.
The engine for the boat is really weak which make docking quite difficult because the response time of the boat takes forever.
As for the Thousand Island it is a beautiful area and is amazing to explore.
The staff is quite helpful. I just think the boats are getting old and need a lot of loving and improvements.

This was our fifth year renting a house boat off this company. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They come with positive attitudes and set the tone of your vacation off in a great manner.
The boats themselves are old but they do a great job maintaining them. We could see that there was maintenance and fixing done as we were on the same boat last year. They have different size boats to accommodate different size groups.
The location can’t be beat. There are so many islands to go explore in the area. The Thousand Islands is a great place to explore. Your house boat rental comes with a pass to dock or moor on the public island and also has a pass to cross the border into the states. We haven’t done that but the possibility is there.
You can explore the area even better by renting a kayak or paddle boat to take with you on the houseboat. The house boat company conveniently offers rentals.
