Not happy with this place at all.
I have tried calling multiple times to speak to a manager about a refund and they will not call me back.

We had to cancel our stay weeks before our arrival date.

Everything you would expect at a Howard Johnson. No kettle's to boil water in rooms and currently only cleaning upon request

The guy at the reception was awesome no complain about him. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking well they’re absolutely not it smells a lot. There was chicken wing bones on the carpet between the two beds. Absolutely disgusting. Towels have holes in it. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

The hotel is so-so overall, and I wouldn't recommend staying there more than a couple of nights due to the hard water, which is bad for washing your hair with.

Cons: the rooms had a poor smell (we kept the window open most of the time), the tap water was extremely hard and smelled of iron (they need a water softener BADLY), and the room had no coffee maker. The ice machines were broken, so you have to go to the front desk to ask for ice, except that no one mans the desk. The quilt had cigarette burns on it, despite it being a non-smoking room.

Pros: the free breakfast was nice. Bonus points for it being vegetarian. The staff is friendly, but you have to call 0 from the room to speak to them as no one mans the desk.

My rooms were absolutely disgusting proper sanitization is not being implemented to keep these rooms maintained. The walls are yellow. The smoke alarm was disgusting the carbon monoxide filter was covered in tar therefore probably not so useful anymore. I called front desk in the evening to ask them why my water for the shower was coming out black & With stuff coming out of it and he proceeded to tell me too let the hot water run for 10 minutes it will be fine I did so & still black particles came on my hand when I ran it under the water. My boyfriend and I try and crawl into bed & there is burn marks on the sheets stains etc. I call the front desk again & ask for new sheets that are clean and don’t have burn marks in them apologizing for being such a bother but I’m just firmly disgusted. He then proceeded to say “ Those are smoking rooms they will all have burns they will all have stains” Yet there’s a 200$ Security deposit you think you would take a little to keep ur room a little more up to date to keep ur customer satisfaction.we brought it to front desks attention in the morning at check out… & he walked out front of his counter stood infront of us and waved us out saying “ bye bye” Very unprofessional! And very Immature.

Had a great stay. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The benches outside room allowed us to enjoy summer sun and warmth. Will stay again.

Awful experience.
Bed had red stains, towels old and dirty.
Room cleaning was done poorly with some hair left all around.
When I get back to lobby in the evening they locked the door and ghosted. Emergency phone didn’t respond as well.
In the morning the new shift said “stains are okay because bed was washed”.
Manager is not on the property Wednesday at 10am and I was declined to receive any reference number for my complain.

There was a bad musty smell in the room, u got breakfast in a bag which contained a granola bar an apple bottle of water and yogurt. The I've machine wasn't working properly. Too expensive for what u got

Not normally a fan of motels but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and pleasant to stay in. The staff were extremely professional, courteous and were able to help us out with all of our requests. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We booked a room in March for wedding in July Room I received was a smoking room and it stunk to high heaven, staff said they would deodorize and ionize the room while we were at wedding came back after wedding room still stank, we could not stay in that room all night so we never used room, Also rooms never looked like Expedia pictures they were small, old and dingy looking, stay away from this place deserves the name Howard Johnson but you would expect better with the Wyndham name on it! Just warning you all stay away!

Everything was pretty good for the price you pay - except the rooms were very musty. Or had a stale cigarette smoke smell. It didn’t smell fresh and clean, even though there was nothing to indicate it wasn’t clean. Staff was nice, location pretty good…for the price you pay it was ok for a night if you just need a place to sleep.

It is the first time I have stayed in A Howard Johnson and I was terribly disappointed. We were there for a film shoot and had booked four rooms. The rooms were clean enough though with a strange stink in them. Cheap cleaner? Anyway. There is a refrigerator in the room and that's it. No coffee/tea maker not even a bottle of water. And the closest place to get all this is a gas station a few minutes walk away they must earn a great commission from this gas station! Strangest thing is that due to Covid they have closed down their snack bar and the breakfast they offer is a bottle of water, a small yoghurt, one small biscuit and an apple! No Coffee! You want some? Well. Hello Convenience store! The first day there was a storm and electricity vanished at 2 pm. No stand by generator here! Asked for a refund and were refused. Electricity came back past midnight and it was COLD! They should just shut down this business if they do not know how to run it. Friends. Avoid this hotel. You are better off sleeping in your car.

Both Dave and Jeremy were very kind to me during a tough week in my life, where I may have not been so kind to them. I thank them both and very much enjoyed my stay. Very clean room, reasonable prices. Thanks again to the management

No staff in the early mornings. Found bedbugs, and staff just blew us off. They are poor at cleaning. I will never go again.

First impression is not the greatest the outside.looks dated but the room was large, clean and updated. CheckIn was odd we did it outside on the steps but others then that the staff was friendly, polite and very helpful. I know I had issues with my Visa, my door and then my pup locked me out of our room at 11 pm in the rain. Everything was taken care with politeness and friendly. Loved the drive up to your door

Horrible mangers and staff. Tired booking a long term room, called a week ago and was told we could work out a agreement for this Sunday. Called everyday this week and kept getting told we wrote the Manger a message and talked to the Manger multiple times to only find out today that they have no rooms and want $1800 by Monday as well as a security depositof $550. So we will be homeless come Monday thanks to the awful service if they would have told us there was no room at the beginning we could have made other arrangements.

Didn't get a room with HJ because I had a room at knights inn already and rooms were basically the same as far as quality an cleanliness but prices were not the same by far.

First 5 minutes in the room I killed 6 flies. The WiFi was weak and intermittent, and they tv wasn't working until I figured out pulling the power off the cable box and restarting it solved the problem. Front desk was not helpful.

This Howard Johnson is not updated. The walls have water damage. The carpet was wet. Not worth the price they are asking per night. This place needs alot of love and renovations.

What you get is very different to what you see in the pictures! This is simply a run down motel with Howard Johnson name attached. Very very tacky.

Disgustingly dirty hotel room and lot, SO NASTY WE JUST LEFT.broken down vehicles in the parking lot and garabge everywhere, staff didnt care one bit.nor do anything to compensate us. I'm really sorry but I did not enjoy my stay here. I was just looking for a place to rest for the night, wasn't looking for anything luxurious. My room consisted of dirty bed sheets, mildew shower curtain, an uncomfortable mattress, the smell of staleness as well as mosquitoes buzzing around the room all night, I didn't get any sleep.

Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean. However had a very obvious slope in the floor by the bathroom.
I was not pleased with the $200 hold on my credit card in case of room damage. We are seniors, not about to cause damage. Apparently corporate directive.guess they don't want our business again.

Clean, affordable, up to covid standards, quiet, stocked with a mini fridge. We needed a place to stay on the way to our destination and this fit the bill. There was no coffee machine which maybe was related to covid, we're not sure, and the tv wouldn't read our hard drive but this didn't significantly affect our stay in any way.

Terrible customer service. I honestly can’t tell you what the rooms are like as they cancelled our reservation, yet when I called them about it I was told I would be taken care of and everything was fine. Drove an hour and a half to find out they had sold our room to someone else and they had no vacancy and wouldn’t accommodate us, unlike what I was told previously. Honestly kind of glad we didn’t end up staying here if this is the kind of customer service they have. Definitely won’t be booking here again.

One star because I can't select zero. Most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in, it's gross, water damage everywhere, checking in was the longest experience of my life and I was the only one in line. I was charged $40 more for the same room than what I was booked. Disgusting place. Wyndham should be ashamed their name is on this hotel. Will never stay again

Stayed in a grubby little room at the back of the motel paid $84 plus tax away over priced the shower hit me right in the face there was no way to change it I would never stay there again.

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews about this place. We stayed for 4 nights with 2 dogs and a bird and the staff was more than accommodating. This hotel has an open field for exercising your dogs and my guys loved it. Good continental breakfast and coffee makers in the room.
Front desk people were awesome. Housekeeping was great. I will tell anyone to stay here.

Staff were friendly enough but hotel room really needs to be fixed up. Bathroom was in good shape, main room and furniture in bad shape. Paper cups instead of glasses for bathroom.

Nice enogvh place. However, I noticed upon entering, the smell was very strange. It was an old smell, like mothballs.

This was not a Howard Johnson. It was a run down building. No reason to charge $140. I walked in to the room and demanded to check out. Very disappointed. Howard Johnson NOT.

I've stayed here before because I knew it was dog friendly. It was a little ways off of my route but drove the extra 30 minutes just to stay here! Front desk staff at check-in and check-out we're both super friendly and personable! Will definitely always stay here when I'm in the area! ️

Affordable. Quiet. Our package included Continental Breakfast. Picnic area. Some renovations are ongoing. Kids on front desk are super!

This is an old motel trying to eek out an existance. It was old thirty years ago and hasn't gotten any better.
Wouldn't recommend it at $150 +tax per night.

Run down and the staff are slow and don't seem very friendly. I understand its under renovations, but even the rooms are dirty and old. The beds are uncomfortable, check in was so slow! I guess it might be your best option in the area, but it's so bad I'm shocked it's a brand name franchise and not just privately owned. Renovations hopefully will help, but I don't think it will help with the rude staff and how slow they check you in.

Listed as two separate hotels to split up the negotiate reviews.they are the same throughout.mould, animals in the walls, shady people in parking lot, no security, staff enter your room to check out your stuff and don't clean. Someone planted a Crack pipe in my room and tried to blame me for it. Room was dirty. Carpet was wet. Conrad the manager is a scam artist. Tried to charge me for 2 more nights because I complained about the room not being cleaned, the television not working, the fridge not working, the WiFi not working, and the air conditioning leaking water onto the mould carpet. Basically a place qhicb takes advantage of anyone who stays there and wants basic safe clean room. All but one staff were condescending and try to blame their deficiencies on their guests with well practiced rehearsed routines. The Knights inn just down the road is 100 times better for 70% the price. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Trash everywhere, black mold in our room, needles on the ground and in the parking lot for months, slow unreliable wifi (horrible for students), incompentant manager that blames the guests for all the problems with his motel. If it wasn’t for the housing shortage in Lindsay no one in their right mind would stay here, wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me.

Great little motel conveniently located 10 minutes from down town Lindsey. Not the fanciest place but pretty great for what you pay for. Clean rooms with complimentary coffee, tea and hair products. Even free continental breakfest. Would stay there again.

Very poorly run, we contacted the reception to let them know that the hair dryer was not working. Nothing was done to fix it. Also, towels were not changed

I stayed through January and February 2019. The place is old and falling apart, the parking lot is like a roller coaster and they did a really lazy job of clearing the snow and ice.
I had no microwave which I should have had in my room, there was a bunch of unmentioned charges and the staff is very unorganized. Breakfast is meh as well.
I still have not received my $500 deposit back and good luck getting a hold of management he is never there to take the phone.
There wasn't even hot water in the group kitchen for the majority of my stay so I had to do my dishes in my bathtub.

I stay in about 20 motels a month there machine wouldn't take my card so used interact got put in back of motel worst hole I've ever been in paint coming off walls and what was still there looked like my granddaughter painted it bed was old and had stains when I complained in morning I was told if no credit card that's where they send u I've since stayed in other hotels in lindsay with no complaints or troubles ho jo u should be ashamed of yourselves

Stay anywhere but here. Loud pipes in the shower, disgusting smell outside out room, holes in walls, hard beds, took hours to get extra towels, slow to no WiFi, complaints were not handled well. We weren't even offered a discount. Save your money is go else where.

Wow. Dingy. Overcharged on the conference rooms. Everything was questionable. Would not recomment. If i could do it.zero stars.

I'm an extended stay student at Fleming college. Living here for two and a half months now there are several issues.
1) I paid for my room for the beginning of the month and they said it wasn't ready TWO WEEKS into the paid month.
2) the room STILL smelled like the last person's dog.
3) weekly house keeping that was supposed to work at 11am shows up at 6pm while I'm trying to eat dinner. And when they showed up they VACCUMED HALF OF THE ENTIRE ROOM THEN CALLED IT QUITS.
4) the staff has a terrible attitude and don't seem the care about any of the issues with your room.
5) workers at the front desk will not hesitate to leave you in the November cold while they MAKE YOU WAIT FOR ROOM KEYS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY OTHER DAY.

The location is out of town and The other extended stay neighbors are rowdy as hell.

Do you like coked out neighbors trying to start fist fights in the parking lot every night? Then this is the place for you!

I cannot stress enough how awful and lowzy this place is. If I could give a Negative Star review I would. Beware of the Howard Johnson in Lindsay. 10/10 would walk away, It's not worth the stress or money.

Essessive deposits, rooms were unclean and very outdated. They had painted over the wallpaper and the paint is chipping. The long term students are very loud and disrespectful. There is critters in the walls that chew all night long behind the head of the bed. If you are wanting a good nights sleep this is not the hotel to go to. Disappointing for a HJ chain.
