After a long search and many consultations, I went with Greg Sills as my legal counsel after an unexpected termination. Absolutely appalled at what a respected colleague experienced with this firm over the course of several years. Gross ineptitude and mishandling of her case, including several lawyers over five years, some of whom went AWOL, and the firm didn’t have the decency to notify the client of these departures; multitude of excuses and very little action in moving her case forward; complete lack of accountability for stagnation of the case. Add to that mounting legal bills when little to no work was done. I myself had an initial consultation at the Levitt firm a few years ago and after paying several hundred dollars for the hour, and being told it would take several more hours at that rate and not having a good feeling, I went with another firm that settled my matter quickly. Unfortunately, that was not the case for my colleague who was mired in this mess for years. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for representation.

My aunt hired this firm and in five years she had 6 different lawyers. She finally had to fire them due to inactivity and incompetence. Then Howard Levitt put a lien on any future settlement she received. You would think hiring Howard levitt would result in a quick resolution! Do not hire this firm!

I would not recommend this firm to anyone. I paid $800 for an hour-long consult with senior counsel regarding a severance package. This was a complete waste of money.

The lawyer was late for our call, and completely rushed through the session. The consultation ended after only 20 minutes, and I was left with more questions than answers.

I have consulted with several junior lawyers at Levitt in the past. They came prepared and well-versed for our sessions, while taking the time to carefully review each of my supporting documents, and address each of my concerns individually.

This recent experience with their senior lawyer was very disappointing. I will not be working with them again.

After meeting one of their staff members I was promised at least an email or return call - yet heard nothing- possibly staffing issues- how can an employment law firm help others yet don't treat their own staff well?

Biggest mistake ever. I was laid off five years ago and it was to my detriment that my friend recommended this firm. I was going to go with a smaller firm and with a much lower rate and recommended by other friends. But then I was told about this firm because Mr. Levitt appeared in the media. Unfortunately, I decided to switch. I was assigned to Ms. Sunira Chaudri. In my dealings with lawyers for a variety of reasons, never had I seen a lawyer more unprofessional, lazy and unavailable. She dragged my case on for months and months despite my urging for her to not delay. She had no interest in advocating for me, in fact, she was busy buddying up with the HR contact and asking about her wedding plans! I had zero trust in her! A couple of months after I was laid off, I got an offer for a short term contract. I begged her to expedite my case before word got back to my previous employer of this temporary contract as they might consider me having found employment. She did not and word got back to my employer and the severance I received was so pathetic and only a fraction of what I would have received otherwise. And on top of that, the firm got 15% of this severance because that was the contract we had. This would not have mattered if I had really found a job, but it was only a short term contract. So here I am, over 5 years later and in financial ruin because I have not been able to find a permanent job because of my highly specialized qualification, my age and inability to move outside the province being a single parent with a spouse in the GTA. All these factors would have qualified me for double of what I actually got. And to my horror, I see that she has now become a partner. Unbelievable! Other lawyers might be good at this firm but beware the one I got stuck with!

You need the best people to take care of your employment matter, especially when your loyal and commuted service is no longer valued by your employer.hence you need people who will look after your interest and work diligently to provide you with the beat strategies, get you the best compensation for your hard work. I sought council from Levitt Sheikh Chaudhri and Swan after being let go abruptly in the middle of the pandemic. The offer presented me with little to no financial or medical support as I looked for new employment. I wasn’t going to talk to a lawyer as I didn’t feel I deserved much more than what was offered, not having been in my position for that long. However, I’m really glad that I did. I was connected with Tahir Khorasanee who was a wealth of information and took the time to thoroughly outline my options and answer all of my questions. Tahir really made me feel reassured that I was owed more than what I was offered which made me feel confident as I proceeded. My settlement is not yet closed and I will certainly be seeking Tahir’s council again throughout negotiation. My only regret is that I didn’t call him when I was in a similar situation at the start of the pandemic in a different role! Worth every penny!

I was absolutely aghast with the lack of professionalism displayed by Muneeza Sheik, to the point where I was concerned she might have been conspiring with opposing counsel. An unprofessional conduct complaint with LSO has been filed and civil action will follow. When I complained to Howard Levitt, he was dismissive and condescending.
I urge a high level of caution for anyone contemplating their services. Caveat emptor.

Although I am very impressed and very happy with my lawyer and his dealings with me, I did not receive the outcome I expected. I am still unemployed and did not receive from my old employer what I hoped.
