Everyone is fantastic here, they treat you like a person and work with you to help get you back on track. Highly recommended for anyone who has financial issues

I posted this message before but it conveniently got deleted. I lost my house and all of its contents to a natural event. The insurance company denied my claim and I was left homeless and eventually lost my job. I sought out Hoyes, Michalos for assistance. They offered assistance by way of a consumer proposal and I filed the necessary paperwork. When all was said and done, I paid more than all of my debts combined plus their fee. Theodore Michalos did not care that I had lost everything I own and was homeless.only wanted to know how and when I could pay his fee (another claim against my credit if unpaid). I see many negative reviews but find them quickly removed. Arrogance in the face of defeat.

My experience with Hoyes has been amazing! Patricia and Howard have been very patient and caring through this whole process. What I love the most is they made me feel very comfortable. Best thing I have ever done was make the call to Hoyes, Michaelis and associates. The feelings of anxiety and embarrassment were quickly washed away from the moment I spoke to Howard. From my very first appointment I knew Hoyes was the Business that I wanted to assist me with my credit issues.
I called and got an appointment immediately. My Trustee never judged nor made me feel embarrassed. He treated me like he would have treated anyone else. He provided me with options and a follow up appointment a week later.
Everything was fine and addressed promptly with no issues. Since then I have had my two credit concilling appointments and that was very successful.
Hoyes went beyond their duties and I know if ever in need of advise I can contact them.

I have no idea how all of the previous reviews gave such positive affirmations. They do not help with debt relief or debt counselling. They offer cookie cutter solutions and follow a template for every single person. My account should have been handled better and differently, but they just want you to sign so that they get paid. Have a look at form 47 that you signed with them, look at how much they get paid to give you absolutely no help. The famous line, I promise your stress level out of 10 will drop once you let us help you, I expressed in then end of my first meeting and again in my second meeting that my stress level did not go down, again no help with this. When people are facing financial hardship no matter what the reason or how they got there, we don't want to hear your advice from your father 40 years ago, irrelevant and a waste of time. How about you do some retraining on how to REALLY help people in these situations. After expressing my concerns with the service they offer a different credit counselor, wow thanks for going all out. If you are considering filing a consumer proposal be for-warned it appears as a bankruptcy on your credit file, Hoyes will tell you that it is because Credit Karma is American and they do not recognize consumer proposals. Every Canadian CC and every Credit Check I have ever had (rental property, Canadian bank loans, cable provider, cell phone provider and hydro/gas/water) has gone through Credit Karma so beware of the B/S excuse you will be given. Extremely disappointed is an understatement, wish I could give no stars.

Have to say when I first made appointment i was nervous, but when you first go in the door you are greeted by the receptionist very very friendly, then I got called in to meet with patty. Man do I not regret going with this company. Patty was very welcoming and treated you like family, no judgment she was there to help not make you feel worse then you already feel. So thank you patty and the whole Hoyes for helping me get back on my feet. 100% would recommend this company.

Best thing I did was go for some financial relief and advice with Hoyes and Michalos. They went through my options to help steer me on the right path for a better financial future and piece of mind. I am in the right path for my family and I to come out ahead on the future. Staff are very informative and helpful.

Patrica was very professional and a great help when I didn’t know what to do with my financial problems. She was always very fast to answer when I had questions and made sure all the issues were taken care of right away. Very good service. Patty was amazing they help you understand fully the difference between a proposal and a bankruptcy. They are a legit company. Friendly staff and compassionate. Very experienced and will help you work through your budget to save money.

In September 2019 I found myself WAY in Over My Head in debt! Living on a fixed income there was NO way to be able to continue making payments on what I owed: (I did some research and found Hoyes, Michalos & Associates:) I gave them a call, explained my situation. I booked an appointment and met with Patty:) We went through everything together and came up with a plan:) I also had the pleasure of meeting Doug as well:) I just had my last in person meeting with Patty. I'm WELL on My WAY to being Debt Free! It's a HUGE Relief to say the least:) It's very affordable! Patty, Doug and All the Associates have your best interest in mind. Couldn't be happier! Staff is very friendly and considerate. I came into this place with a lot of financial stress and now 2 meetings and 1 budgeting session later I must say I am feeling 100% then when I first came to their office.
