A lot of people are into debts but only a few know about consumer proposals unless they’ve gone out and done their research. When I first contacted Hoyes, Michalos & Associates, I had no idea what the firm was all about. Customer Service was quick and efficient to answer my call. The rep explained very well how it works and I was then connected to a Licensed Trustee Manager Scott. He guided me through all the steps and what to expect of the consumer proposal program. I was mentally burned out. My back-to-back debts were taking a toll on me but Scott helped me understand. My debts were reduced to more than half of what I owe provided I make sure I put equal amount of work on my consumer proposal programs That means, making consumer proposal payments on time based on what is approved by the creditors, attending a credit counselling with the licensed trustee and successfully finishing the program. Scott is always there when you have questions, very knowledgeable and professional. A heavy burden lifted off my shoulders. Thank you I highly recommend this firm and talk to someone today!

I went to them for bankruptcy or consumer proposal advice. I was offer to file consumer proposals. However he was lying about my car's book value, which is 2018 Mazda hatchback with 30000 km. It's in very good condition. Looks like new car. No accident or rebuilt. He was telling me book value of that car is $13000! I checked book value myself, even Mazda older than that my car has higher book value!

From the time I realized I would be needing some help, I was a nervous wreck. Didn't know what to do or who to go to. Then a friend of mine told me to check out Hoyes Michalos.

As soon as I received the first e-mail back I felt like I was in good hands, but was still a bit apprehensive about the whole process. Not being a homeowner, I didnt know which options if any would be there for me. After going through a phone interview with Scott Terrio, I agreed to come in and put my cards on the table and go from there.

From the first meeting with Scott, I felt at ease and knew that I would be taken care of. He thoroughly explained the process, and what the next steps would be in completing my Consumer Proposal. WOW! AMAZING!

About 3 years ago I had the worst credit and could not even get an apartment if they were to do a credit check. A friend told me about HOYES, MICHALOS & ASSCIATES and said that they will take care of me. I called and made an appointment, and from the minute I walked in I was greeted with kindness and there was no judgement. They took on my case, guided me and taught me how to handle my credit properly, and get this stress of debt off my back. They said it would probably take me 5 years to pay everything off, but I was able to get it paid off in 3 years. In that 3 years they checked up on me and continued to give me great advice on how to better my credit.

Now, 3 years later, after following their advice to the letter, I had to provide my credit score and report to apply for a new apartment, which I was very nervous about. When I saw my score and report it showed that I AM AT THE HIGHEST CREDIT SCORE YOU CAN RECEVIE IN CANADA NOW! So much so that the new landlord company said to me that this is very rare and that my credit is better than 72% of the Canadian population. I would like to say THANK YOU TO: HOYES, MICHALOS & ASSCIATES, for helping me get through my debt issues and guiding me in the right direction to getting this amazing credit score, and feeling this good about the progress I’ve made. Honestly these people deserve some sort of humanitarian award. I had called a couple of other Trustees and found them to be either rude or disinterested or make me feel (even more) terrible about the situation I ended up in.

Then I called Hoyes & Michalos after a recommendation from a friend. I went in feeling like the world was resting on my shoulders and came out feeling like someone had just lifted it off. I now had proper, solid, legal information about what could and could not happen, do yourself a favour and stop Googling, it won't help but talking to these guys will.

All of the staff were polite, professional, non-judgemental and gave me advice in plain english. They were in no way pushy about what I should or shouldn't do, they simply provided me with the facts and obligations for each option and let me make the decision.
