Love the Bay & their selection of products whether clothing, shoes or decor. Each Christmas a visit to the Bay is a must to pick up new Christmas decorations which are always beautiful.
It's embarrassing how the Bay has fallen! Terrible to no customer service. No staff anywhere and when you find someone, they know nothing! Just Brutal! If they had pricing on their products, I wouldn't have to hunt someone down to find out the price? What a frustrating experience. Stay home, and order online!
My daughter and I visited Hudson’s Bay July 12. The service we received from Didi was fabulous! She was very helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make us happy customers. She placed an order to have an item that was not available in store, to be mailed directly to us, to save us time. We will go back soon to apply for a new credit card with Didi, as there are better rewards/deals with it.
Terrible store. Awful place. Stock/inventory is poor. Staff are rude and unhelpful.
I was looking for a few items and wandered the store till I found the men’s section. I was followed and questioned by the store undercover security who were very obnoxious and just generally not very friendly or what you would expect from a store of Hudson Bay. The security then assisted me after questioning why I was in the store and what I was looking for. When is say assist me this is an understatement as it was clear to see that with every second that passed and the undercover security persons assistnace they were becoming more and more obnoxious, impolite and belligerent towards me. They clearly thought I was not to be helped and should leave the store.
Terrible terrible service to be so suspicious of customers.
Angela was helping me look for shoes today and she was amazing. I described what I was looking for and she brought me several options. She worked quickly and effectively and even while helping several customers she kept calm and helped everyone in a timely manner. Big, big thank you to Angela for helping me so much
It's nice during the holidays, but I'm amazed it still exists. Sales people are rather scarce but mostly friendly when you do find one. Good for last minute dress clothes for men and housewares.
The Oakville Place location has a good variety of stock. Bay days is good but with supply chain issues it seems like the sales are not as good as pre covid Bay days.
Good selection of products. Happened into a 20% off sale so. Good prices. My only complaint is the lack of checkouts that actually have people manning them. It’s almost as if goods are on display only.
Lots of selection but does anyone actually work here? Impossible to find what you're looking for and nobody around to ask. I guess that's department stores, everything is mostly segregated by brand rather than type of product. For example if you want a pair of jeans you have to check out 10 different areas, one for each brand. It's like a mall without walls. I guess there are benefits to this setup.but I don't see it.
Went yesterday they have very nice clothing and high end stuff but a bit expensive or even just expensive so if you want to save wait for good sale or the bay days
Very well laid-out store. However, like many other Hudson Bay locations, the the inventory is depleted because of the online shopping option. The staff is friendly but not the most knowledgable about what they have and what they don't have.
I had to return a gift and the situation was a bit complicated, the staff and especially the manager went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service, which was much appreciated.
Products O. K.service almost non existent. Getting a bit better in terms of more staff on the floors clothing isles. Men's pants very low stock on hand.
Great experience at this store, the worker that helped me was named Fatima. She was very helpful, she helped me find everything that I needed in the store and she was also a really kind person.
Customer service seems to have fallen technologically behind. Unable or even just unwilling to manually enter gift card details when unable to scan the barcode. It’s an alright location but definitely need staff more comfortable with computers / POS. Also bought a “new” batter for my watch here and it didn’t last a month.
Did an online return Saturday morning apr 30 - excellent service, people in completely non-related department helped us out with an online return (costmetics) I guess they are all really well cross trained.helped get a trolls, and returned processed efficiently.thats all I can ask for.
I am writing to recommend the Bay Oakville’s Watch Repair service. I went in to get a battery replaced around noon on Thursday, April 28th. I was helped by the most courteous, thoughtful gentleman. When I said that my watch seems to “eat batteries” because it was replaced about six months ago, he was genuinely concerned and closely checked my watch while replacing the battery. This is my second recommendation for this person - I will try to get his name next time. A big thank you!
Had a fantastic experience with Mustangs and Abdullah. Both at the cash, helped me find two items that had no tags. They put their best foot forward to find a match and ensured I got a good deal on my shopping. Really appreciate the customer service. Ask for them when you visit
The store scammed me at Jewellery counter.pls be aware. Manager was called my card said approved but she said not. I left with NOTHING while I paid a lot of money. Visa was contacted and said it was authorized. Scammers oakville store.be AWARE. Megan claimed to be manage she did not even apologize, just took my money w no items for me to leave with. Should be fired. Disgusting. No receipt nothing. I paid and left EMPTY HANDED NO RECEIPT NADA.
Hudson bay colleges were very helpful in the store, directing me exactly to what I was looking for. Fatima was always ready to have a changing room opened and made sure I found everything I needed before I cashed out and left. Definitely the best customer experience I had out of of the other locations I visited. Would not be disappointed.
BEWARE! Unfortunately if you buy something online and it is from marketplace you cannot return it to the bay eventho your credit card is charged by The Bay. You are told you are suppose to ship it back at your expense! This should be made very clear when you are ordering online!
Just had an awesome shopping experience! Huge Thank you to Angelica in the women's clothing dept. & Nifa at the cashier. They were so helpful, friendly and patient. Wonderful customer service!
I always like the Hudson’s bay. Best place for shoes, perfume, clothes and the list goes on. And.at an unbeatable price. The good thing I loved this time is that a professional lady named (Ftema K) succeeded to convince me to get the Bay card and I was very happy with that, I can get extra discounts from it. Thank you Ftema
The worst customer service ever! 2 times I ordered and both times they sent the wrong items. Once I called for refund they wasted 30 minutes of my time and they were not refunding. I am totally DONE with this low quality shop!
Due to the impact of the epidemic, the store seemed a bit deserted, the cashiers were very enthusiastic to introduce preferential activities. I bought three things that I didn’t really need lol…! The environment in the mall is good, people who like to take a walk in the winter time can consider walking around the mall.
Good assortment and gorgeous Christmas shop, but very difficult to find a cashier. During Bay Days it would make sense to make it easier for customers to shop
Clean, bright, modern. Reasonable number is staff visible to help. Inventory level seems a little light in some areas. Lots of "sale" items. Store not oo crowded, cash lines small if any.
This iconic store has been always well stocked for every occasion and budget. It has been a while since we were able to go inside and shop. Beautiful selection of shoes clothes, home decor, kids clothes and so much more
Terrible service. Got a coupon code from the bay and tried to place an order but the system kept telling me there was an issue with the card and I would have to call Bay customer service. The coupon was due to expire that night and Bay customer service was closed. Called in the next day when they opened and was told they would not honor the code.
The customer was so bad, we waited in a line for over an hour to reach the first in line, just to wait for some women to return two bags full of close.not to mention she was returning each purchase on a separate receipt.they didn’t even call someone for the other cashier that was right next to them. Even the dollar store had better service. Worst experience ever.
They don’t even deserve a one star, there manager is very impolite, and don’t have any manners. The service there is very poor. Worst experience ever don’t recommend shopping there.
This store in Oakville has really beautiful merchandise excellant choices well presented Unfortunately the only staff I could find was on cash registers and they were busy too busy to help. After several tries to find a helpful employee approximately 20 minutes had passed I gave up.the employees dont wear any visable signs that they work there. When they spot you the turn thier heads the other way and look the other way, I assumed the head turners were the employees all undercover, why do they even show up! For a big box store its pathetic at this time of year nobody works the floor and assists customers to purchase items. Now I know I have to shop on line no more frustration .
Beautiful store with lots variety and good pricing especially during the sales seasons. I hope that the Bay stays in business. This covid is forcing many businesses to close permanently.
Last weekend before Christmas, very short staffed. Manager of this store should of known it was going to be busy. 1 staff person on cash, I waited 50 minutes in line to purchase 1 item.
Customer service is so poor and gets worse over time. I had a terrible experience in the shoe department. Tried to do a refund, they refused to give me back my money when I was within the time period and had a receipt. Nothing out of the ordinary except for a "computer glitch. " Product was unused. The lady was rude, talked over me, kept interrupting and was blatantly gossiping about other customers with her colleague. I've supported this company for years, but it's no wonder that they're going out of business!
I've had a hopeless experience purchasing online. Recieved an empty box. Dont know when will I recieve my products or money will be refunded Customer care also useless
Great experience purchasing perfume at the Dior counter. The sales rep (Maryam) was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, gave great advice - and most importantly, was wearing a mask and keeping her distance (for Covid-19 reasons, of course). Many thanks
Clean spacious and lovely courteous employees who do not bother you but are very visible when you need their help. They come running with a smile suggestions and help when you need them.
Customer service at this location is notoriously bad. Last boxing day one of the employees walk into the fitting room and ask customers "Who left this pile of clothes here? Was it the big guy? ". Today, the cashier threw my bag at the counter after I paid.
This location should probably closed down. Judging from their 12-5 hours, it doesn't seem like they're interested in selling anyway.
Tried to find a salesperson to assist for over 40 mins to locate items that were part of advertised sale. When i finally had a staff member to speak to they said they could not help and walked away.
The location at Oakville place started carrying fashionable apparel brands that I liked but have since changed back into carrying an old man's fashions and apparel. The sale racks are great but so unorganized and you are lucky if you find something in your size unless its XL sizing.
I was in need of a new suit last week. A very professional, polite and accomodating sales person helped us and make the whole process very easy and pleasurable. He was from shoe department but came over to men's clothing and helped us. A very positive experience.
They just took the company private which is likely to result in many changes. I like to shop Canadian however the Bay is simply so badly managed that it is painful to shop there. They are not competitive and are very sparsely staffed. There are lineups at the service desks due mainly to old obsolete equipment. Even if you wear popular sizes you can expect to search rack after rack with no stock. This is the sign of a failing department store when the shelves are full of the wrong merchandise. They need to close many under performing stores and get their act together. With no Sears and no Target we are really desperate for a good retailer to fill the void. I would recommend Simons who are very impressive.
Although Online shopping is terrible; I have worst experience of my life. Ordered a coffee machine for 700 CD, and received a pillow in the mail instead of a coffee machine. Anyway after wasting many hours and days issue was resolved by Oakville store. Manager of customers service Rita is an excellent person, she helped me to resolve this issue and get a replacement machine right away. Otherwise this location is far better compared to other locations. Shelves are more organized with more variety and generally staff is helpful.
Went in for a flash sale on all clad frying pans. They had plenty of stock and open items displayed so you could see what they were like. I was able to buy them without any issues. Paying for them went very smoothly and the clerk was very friendly and polite. I was able to get in and out in less than 10 minutes. A very good shopping experience.
Although they don't go through and touch up their folded clothing during the day making it difficult to find certain items I was there today trying to buy several sweaters and not only was kept in line for 20 min, I was only 3rd, but had to deal with the sales staff trying to upsell online surveys with a line growing behind me. Regrettably as each of the current customers were done the staff would leave their post for break dispite not less than 7 people waiting to make purchases. Regrettably I was unable to complete my transaction in a reasonable amount of time and had to leave $400 worth of sweaters I was looking forward to giving as gifts.
H. B still one of the top Canadian store. The issue with Oakville place is: Emptyness! People going to Square one 20 minutes far instead!? Why!? There is a reason for sure!
Good selection of menswear at great prices. However, getting someone to help you is a challenge. I knew what I wanted and it was showing in stock. Before even trying to help me locate the item, sales associate went on and on how inventory is not accurate online. Which frustrated me. I do not want to hear about their system problems. Sure enough the product I wanted was in stock. I found it myself as the associate was too busy continuing to try and to explain their inventory, instead of looking through the racks. She even looked annoyed I found it. Better shopping online.
This location along with all of the others that I have been to has very little selection compared with their website. They really don't have a lot of product in the store. I find that this is especially the case for housewares. The clothing sections are also confusing as you have to visit several sections to see the pants, shirts, etc. The ordering by brand instead of product type is not very intuitive to me. All in all though the products are good quality just not my favourite shopping experience.
Horrible experience. They forgot to remove a security tag from a jacket and then on my way out, alarm went off. When they went through all my purchases to find it and to remove it, they forgot to put one of my shirts back to my bag. I found out only when I came back home. After my call to the store they said they will have to look in a store and call me back. The Lady's name who was at the cash and who was removing the security tag and forgot to put back my shirt is Moona. No body called back, neither offered any compensation. Would not recommend and won't shop at this location again.
