Hugs and Sarcasm

Food and service were impeccable. We had the fried chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries with the spicy mayo. All were top tier. We had the sausage breakfast sandwich with home fries and a side of blueberry pancake. All we done perfectly. Highly recommend.

When we finished our breakfast the server asked us if we wanted anything else, we said we were good I looked at her and said one bill please
The bill came
I paid for the bill, as it was a bit more then expected Idid not leave a tip on the machine and was going to leave cash
I have family in the service history so I do understand how important it is to leave a tip
We were getting our coats on and the server came out and asked if everything was okay, I said yes and she said IN FRONT OF MY FAMILY well you did not leave a tip, when people dont leave a tip it usually means they weren't happy
now I have to tip out the kitchen
This was very unprofessional and in my option should of not happened
I am very disappointed and will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone

As someone with celiac, this place is a godsend. Great food, great service. I ordered delivery from them frequently over the pandemic, and it's nice to be able to go for a sit-down now. Had the fried chicken in honey sauce on a gf bun with sweet potato fries and it was awesome.

Hugs and Sarcasm in Toronto deserves a glowing 5-star review for making our event an absolute success. Hosting over 50 people on two floors with a $2000 minimum seemed daunting, but communicating with the venue was seamless and efficient, ensuring all our needs were met.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring a smooth flow for our event. The quirky and cozy ambiance added a unique charm, making it a perfect setting for our gathering. Plus, the fact that we could bring our donuts was a delightful touch, adding a personal and sweet element to the experience. Hugs and Sarcasm exceeded expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to host an event on Queen West.

This is a great brunch option for anyone gluten free. The GF fried chicken was some of the best I have had recently in the city. Especially with Dirty Bird on the decline.

Went for super fun trivia night and ate the British poutine, which might be my new favourite food. Great service too!

This is a gem of a place for a casual brunch or dinner but if you are looking for a place to hold a private venue this is a good spot.

We had a milestone birthday and did not want to hold the event at home so we were able to secure the space in the upstairs. There is a private bar and washroom. We had about 40 people and all our guests commented on the space and the food. Everyone had a fun night.

Most importantly Kate and Phil are so easy to work with and made our party a success. Thanks Kate and Phil. We will remember you for our next event!

Been here a couple of times on Friday for trivia night. It's a fun time, cute bar. Burger is also pretty good.

We were really looking forward to coming here, and the food was excellent! As a family with two celiacs, it is so lovely to open a menu that offers gluten free options for virtually every single meal.

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the overall service at the restaurant. It took quite some time to even get coffees served to the table, and it took our fry ups over 45 minutes to be served. We were in the upstairs part of the restaurant and it was extremely empty, I can’t imagine what it’s like during a busy time of day. Our food was served to us without cutlery. We asked for a refill on coffees and did not receive it, we also asked for ketchup and never received it. The servers made us feel rude for trying to get water & a take home box: (I hate leaving negative reviews but there were so many little things that added up between the kitchen and the overall service that we really did not have a great brunch experience. It seems we are not alone in having had poor service at this restaurant, which is unfortunate because I love finding great gf places in the city to frequent. I hope things are able to pick up

Best trivia in town with a staff of rockstars. The spice bag is a must try and good beer selection.

We called & asked what the brunch wait for 2 would be. They said it’s not busy so we were there within 10 minutes. When we walked in we were not greeted at all. There were empty tables & it didn’t seem too busy but no one noticed us at the door. We waited a few min and someone walked walked past us with dirty plates and still avoided talking to us so we just walked out. Maybe this is why they have mixed reviews:/. Disappointed because we wanted to try the chicken and waffles but walked up the road to another place.

Having had lived experience of being British for 27 years, I can honestly say that this place has some amazing food and the service is amazing.

Great cocktails and food. Definitely give this place a try!

They have British and Irish groceries too which is great! Who could resist British chocolate and Irish Tayto chips

My server Olyvia was very friendly and the food was amazing! My compliments to the chef! Had the chicken pesto sandwich. Yum!

Great environment and decor!

I stopped by earlier today, Saturday afternoon, with a friend as we were in the area and wanted to grab a drink. We ordered a glass of red wine each and ended up ordering food. Our server Olivia was so sweet and attentive! There’s lots of gf options! Majority of the food items are! They serve breakfast food all day, we both got eggs benny. It’s a chill low key vibe right by trinity bellwoods park, we sat in their front patio, just for two! So cute, the small tuck shop is so cute as well love the mugs and hoodies! Thank you to the staff for taking care of us, I loved it. I will definitely be back

Friendly staff, good beers, great trivia. Bonus is the tuck shop for all the imported goodies!

Fun little place that does trivia. Foods alright and decent on drinks. Has a nice atmosphere with the shutters open to the street so it's quite open and airy

The bourbon maple syrup is really special! I wish the bite sized waffles were more crispy. Service could've been more attentive.

Trivia on Thursdays and Fridays at 7: 30. Good s’mores pancakes and the fried chicken burger was tasty

One of the best places to eat in the city. There is a great atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and personable 10/10 would recommend.

Went for brunch recently. The full English breakfast was really great. Definitely needed a nap after all that bacon and sausage haha.

Had such a great time here. We went on a Friday for trivia which was really well organized and tons of fun. Afterwards there was impromptu karaoke. Would definitely go back.
