I have been a regular customer of this Korean restaurant for several years, but my dining experience on January 1st was extremely disappointing. While the food maintained its usual quality, the service provided by an elderly waitress was unacceptable. She appeared visibly impatient when we requested to have our ordered pork intestines stir-fried and showed a distinct dislike when we inquired about any cash discounts for settling the bill, even exclaiming 'Oh my god. ' in response. I believe my requests were reasonable, but her attitude was intolerable. She also repeatedly reminded us that the price did not include tips. We left a sufficient tip, but frankly, HER SERVICE DID NOT MERIT IT.

Food not good as before, the old lady server was so rude and dont care about customer. I tip 10% and they said “Just it? ” Terrible service

These have to be the top three worst dining experiences I've had in Toronto. Food is so so but expensive. And we are asked to move seat without anyone help to move water and stuff. Moreover, when paying, based on the bad experience, I gave a little tips. Then, a waitress forcefully demanded a 10% tip. I don't think this is reasonable, tipping is a voluntary fee based on the dining experience, so why should I pay more than $15 for such a bad experience? Although in the end, for my own safety (she didn't seem to let me out because I didn't give), I tipped 10% or more.

Recently discovered this 24-hour spot after a night of clubbing. This spot is our new go-to for late night Korean eats. The pork bone soup and bibim bap was so good and the Korean side dishes are unlimited and delicious, especially the kimchi. Pricing is decent and the service is very friendly. The cleanliness of the dining area could be better, but it is open 24-hour and I'm sure they get a lot of party-goers. Overall, great spot for a late night eat!

An actual good korean place to go to. The food is very good and atmosphere makes me feel as if I am in Korea which is cool. Just the only issue is you will need to pay for parking if you wish to come down here.

I will never go to this store again. First, we had plastic in the meat, which we didn't say at first so as not to embarrass the restaurant. Secondly, we had to wait a long time for the drinks to be brought to us, and the meat was not stir-fried for us as before. We did not turn it over until it was a little overcooked. It was very dry and hard, and the sausage was almost burnt, so we turned it over ourselves. It took several times before anyone came to stir fry, which means there was not much service. Then I asked for a tip. I thought it was a lot to give $10 for a meal of 150 for such a service. If possible, I would give $0. The waiter told me that they all charge a tip of more than 10%. If the tip is less than 10%, the boss will ask the waiter to ask us why we don't tip.

First of all, lets talk about food. Very bland and mediocre. I would rather go to the Owl or other restaurants in the area. I'm a big fan on GamJaTang. I always order a big pot every time I go to Korean restaurants. I'm so disappointed and didn't even finish my soup.
The reason I came is for the Beef Intestine which not a lot of restaurants offer. It was so bitter. I'm not sure it was prepared properly.
Jokbal and Soon Dae did not also give a hit either. Very dry! However, please keep in mind the food was expensive due to the portion.

Total bill was $140 as the beef intestine alone was $60-$70.

We only sat for 30 mins and packed everything else to go as we didn't enjoy the food as much.

The bill came and my brother paid Cash. He tipped $8 and the server asked “No more tip? ”.

They're students and wanted to get food for the week. Yes, they could have order takeout but hey what are tips for?

We paid for the food. We paid for the groceries with $8 on top. How much more do we have to tip and the fact she did not serve us! Other girls serve us. Tips are for them. Not for you old lady. Why do you ask for more tips and not the girls?

Students can't go out to eat anymore?
Yes as a professional worker, I would have to tip $15 for this kind of food and service. But they are 17 and 18 and wanted to pay for themselves and had to embarrassed themselves with this service? Shame on you!

Delicious food! I love love the cold noodles. A lil pricey but it equals good equality so not a problem.

I DON'T recommend their Kimchi fried rice.
Kimchi is so sour and it seems like they use pre-cooked Bossam pork in this fried rice: (
I love their fast preparation for delivery and that they are open late at night, but the quality of foods is.umm.

Not valuable for the Chicken fried rice which is small portion and not really tasty. And the beef with rice and condiments are cost $38 dollars which too expensive.

Be careful! They charged us extra and didn't realize until we went home. The numbers dont add up on the receipt.

This is not a fancy restaurant, but you will get authentic Korean experience. Food is great especially the hot pots and BBQ. Service was excellent as well.

They had some renovations done, no more second level wooden floor seating.
Service and food are still the same.
Expect to wait a little bit especially during prime dinner time.
Parking is convenient, there's a Green P right beside it.
Definitely worth to check out of you craving for some late night Korean food.

Chose this place for a dinner with coworkers just for their food and soju. I’ve came before a few times so I already had low expectations for their customer service. But damn they managed to upset us even more this time:/ We ordered the table bbq and this server just threw all the meat onto the metal plate at once, making it hard to cook the meat. She just threw it on and left. When the side dishes came, there wasn’t enough space on the other side of the table and she couldn’t reach the inner side so she gestured her arms while looking at us with an attitude for us to help her place it on the other side. She could’ve asked nicely? Why the attitude? I’m a pretty experienced waitress myself and I would so ashamed if I treated my customers like she did. At the end we couldn’t even get soju cuz the same server asked for everyone’s ID but one coworker didn’t have theirs and she turned away with a smirk. Tf? Not even Ddaldongnae or Dakgogi across the street are that strict? None of us looked like we were underage neither we were all in the 20-30 range… she definitely ruined the night for us. We gave a tip less than 10% and after she brought it back to the cashier they all stared at our group while probably talking bad about us. Well, they barely deserved ANY tips lol:/ The server also “asked” very rudely and loudly if she could get the bill for us. It was as if she was demanding us to leave. We just finished our meal barely 5 minutes ago and they just wanted us out the doors so bad. Don’t worry though, I’ll never be coming back:)

The service is good and kind, but I feel bad every time my aunt says something about paying less tips at the end.

If you're craving your basic Korean food, this is the place to go! Their service is also super quick!

The server who serves our food with Ash gray hair acted rude and asking us to tip more and stayed in our table and keep asking for more tip and other customers can hear what she had told us. She's rude and we are a customer for how many years.

Once upon a time the food was good here.went there today and you can really tell the difference in quality. Explains a lot for the recent bad reviews.

Bosom had a strong smell and was hella tough.

Worst service ever. We didn’t even get cup of water for the whole meal. Few of them ignore us. One of them gave us really bad attitude and ask for tips but she was so nice to the two Korean who were sitting next to us. So I believe that she could be a nice waitress, she just doesn’t like anyone other than Korean.

Had an unpleasant experience, one of the servers was so terrible. She ignored us repeatedly and seemed to pretend she couldn't hear us. After saying hello several times, she finally made eye contact and then went straight to the kitchen. I hope she realizes that receiving a tip is based on the quality of service provided. It's disheartening when she questions us, 'why no tip for me? ' after treating us with such an attitude. I hope the other server, who lead us to the table, gets all the tips we paid, as this particular lady's service was not worth a single penny.

I’ve come here many times and always enjoyed the food. The meal in the photo is the chicken cutlet. What I like especially about this spot is that it’s 24/7, so I can come on my break when I’m working night shift. The prices are also very reasonable - $20 for my meal. The waitresses don’t check up on you after the meal has been delivered, but I feel this is typical in Asian dining culture. That said, they are friendly and serve your food promptly.

Our favourite Korean restaurant in Toronto. Price definitely got more expensive, but with this economy it's understandable. The portion is larger than what we expected and I think their menu got bigger after their renovation.

When we pay the bill on Tuesday, the guy with yellow hair said they cannot split the bill, the price of the food on menu is insane, employee are busy, no body serve us water. They should hire more employee.

Service is horrible, plus today they scammed us.

Paid $60 for makchang and $20 for another dish, tried to pay with cash to get the 10% off, bill came out saying total is $90, on which planet is that a discount? When confronted by us the servers there still tried to lie. Seems like this kind of scams have been happening here a long time, before this i believe they did a force tipping policy without letting customers know first.

Ended up paying with no discount and tipped them $20 for what supposed to be a $80 meal. Also their price went up, unreasonable price for such normal food…

Hope they enjoyed that $10 extra with one less customer, I don’t even understand this, if they keep loosing customers because of this, they will also receive less tip… yet they can’t seem to figure that out. We always tip 10%-15% so to find them doing this to take more money from us is very annoying, it wasn’t about the amount of money but the lack of trustworthiness from them that bothered us.

And to the owner of the restaurant, this trashy customer service will be the downfall of this place.

Was really good before COVID. Since then, they are using COVID as an excuse to not serve table top grilling? Came here twice so far and this was the explanation we got so we didn’t end up ordering bbq. Usually we get the intestine and beef - very delicious. But eating it table top while it’s hot is an experience (not going to pay $65 for bbq intestines so they can jus bbq in back for me and bring it on a regular plate so it can sit and get cold lol). So you order the bbq option and pay the same price but they cook it in the back for you and bring it to you cooked. Takes away that authentic Korean vibe. Without table top cooking, it is just a regular Korean restaurant like the other 100 on the block. As for tipping, I never had an experience where they asked me for tips because I always gave a standard amount (usually 10% to 15%, which is the average nowadays). The people writing reviews for tips complaints are probably the ones giving less than 10%. To the owners reading the reviews - please bring back table top cooking.

Don't know why the rating is not higher. This place is really good! Great for sharing and tastes really good. Portion size is good too, more meat than other places.

This is used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants until today. I just dined in the restaurant 5 mins ago. To start with, I have visited this place for more than 8 times before they took a while to close for renovations and since they are finally done for opening dine-in again, we are really excited to come back, but it was a terrible experience and we never come back again. Here is the reason why! First of all, the lady who is our server was very rude and unfriendly to us since we sit on the table. Her face is so scary and the way she responded to us was nothing cause she didn’t even talk to us even the restaurant is not busy at all. Then we’re trying to avoid that and taste the food we ordered. The food is 7/10 however only the tokbokki is too sweet for us and I think they put a bunch of MSG in the meal. Finally, when we get the bill, the total is 143$ and because of the unpleasant service and attitude however, we still want to tip that old lady and we give them 150$. However, the old lady came to check the cash we gave to her and suddenly she said she expected that at least 10% of the tip and she forced us to give her more with an annoying attitude. With all of the respect we gave it to her, we did not say anything rude to her and gave her 5$ more to satisfy her then we left and for sure never came back. This is unacceptable since the tip is optional and it depends on the way the server treated us, not being careless and hope they can get 15% of tip without putting any efforts to take care of customers. I saw so many comments complaining about the service but the manager seems to be ignorant and didn’t respond or find any solutions to handle that problem. I used to be a server so I know basically everything about the customer service, these old ladies are too slow and unprofessional to become a good server. Instead, the manager should kick them out straight back to the kitchen and hire the younger generation to stay in the frontline cause it’s the face of the restaurant! This restaurant is overrated and we definitely find a better place to enjoy rather than coming back and support them.
