Went for walk in services and despite there being zero patients I was turned away bc the walk in doctor isn’t there til the afternoon. Paid for parking and got no care - everyone was kind but I won’t be back. Call ahead!
I just dropped this office as my family doctor. The previous doctor, Dr. Awad, was an amazing doctor whom I miss terribly, next to these new ones. He was amazing! I also miss his staff as the new staff is awful! I write this because Dr. Kanu doesn't look far enough back on my records when prescribing medications. He prescribed me something I've already taken and didn't work for me. He also has prescribed me a medication that should have been taken with an antipsychotic, claiming it would help with my anxiety and fibromyalgia pain. Meanwhile not prescribing the antipsychotic. It stopped working, made me gain weight and eventually lead to suicidal thoughts and extreme depression and dependency on it. I stopped taking it right away, once I realized what was going on. He's promised me therapy sessions and I've yet to receive a call from anyone and calling and asking the staff for anything isn't worthwhile because they never call you back! I shouldn't have to harass the staff or doctor to be taken seriously or to be heard. In appointments I also feel rushed and I'm never completely heard and not everything I've needed addressed gets resolved because he rushes onto the next person. I feel he doesn't take pain and mental health seriously enough.
Excellent, Clean, Professional Doctor The team is over the top to make you feel comfortable. All questions I had, Dr. Kanu & his lovely team answered immediately. God bless them all. Dr. Kanu is available for any questions or support 24.7 via his personal mobile number, which is excellent. My baby boy was healed after 3 days, which was very impressive. Definitely worth coming here if you want a 10/10 job well done for your new born baby boy. Again Thank you Dr. Kanu & Team ️ ️
I was looking for a doctors office cuz I need a doctors office and the lady asked if I was a patient and I said no but I'm looking for a doctor, then she just said sorry we don't do walk ins matter of factly. Not helpful at all
I have been dealing with a chronic pain condition for years and my 5 years old daughter had problems with her weight issues, low weight. My previous doctor moved to another city and I was accepted by Dr Kanu very nice and caring doctor. Most of the time I was seen by the nurse practitioner (Fariba Shahin). She did exam me and noticed that my pain is related to something that did not make sense to me but when she explained I understood. She referred me and she called the specialist's office personally in front of me to make sure that they received the fax and emphasized that I needed to be seen ASAP. My daughter had eating problem and doesn't like to see doctors but the way that this nurse practitioner communicate with her she likes to see her and listenes whatever she tells her. She is gaining weight gradually and eating better than before. I think we should be fair when we judge and it is important that how we behave and to know the lomit of our expectations.
Call to make an appointment, was told they are not a walk in clinic. I said but thats what the name is, they said sorry yes, that is what the website says, but do not take walk ins, and wouldnt let me make an appointment as I hadnt been there before. False advertising.
Please find another place, these people have no time for you. They just run business for money. The NP is not knowledgeable, anything i asked her so far was replied ‘I DONT KNOW’ and dr kanu is always in rush and not available on most days
I am new in the city and have been visiting this clinic for last 6 months.every month they have new staff, they have no proper system and communication has been really poor.
The reason I am writing here is because of the doctor himself and his rude behavior. Dr. Itua G. Iriogbe has been my go to doctor for past few months. I have been advised for few vaccines from one another specialist doctor and I am going in this clinic to get them administered. In past few months I have visited clinic 4 times and got 5 vaccines in total. Today I had an appointment for final 2 vaccines. I had appointment booked 4 weeks ago, yesterday they called me to confirm my appointment again. Today when I went in, doctor said you have to buy the vaccines and bring in yourself from outside and then he will administer. I was surprised because nobody in past few months talked to me about this, neither staff nor doctor. I got all previous 5 vaccines without bringing vaccines myself or paying anything. So I asked doctor about this and why nobody told me before, the doctor instead of giving me any reasonable answer said " I do not know", when I asked to check with your staff, he still only had to say he doesn't know, and then straight told me very rudely "I do not have an answer, If you do not understand you can leave, and I do not get pay cheque to explain this"
Seriously, you are a doctor, you guys run a clinic, and can't explain to your patient? Looks like he only cares about the money. Never experienced any doctor like this.
Wanted to rate zero for the service they offer. Our health is not important to them. My husband had back pain at work. Got appointment for a week after. They said that its work related, has to be booked with family doctor. We waited for a whole week, took a day off on monday and went for the appointment. Our family doctor. Dr Itua comes out and says that he cant see any cases work related. Then apologizes for inconvenience, asked at reception if dr Kanu can see my husband, waited for almost an hour there, and one of the staff comes and explains that the other doctor cant see my husband as they are not our family doctor and our family doctor can’t see coz he is not licensed for seeing work related injury. Why didn't they mention while booking or for the whole week we waited?
We were left out of no where. Someone having pain for over a week, waited so long, booked appt to see doctor, yet not getting the service is such a heart breaking. Had to run around the city looking for a new family doctor who can see work related injury as no point to stick with the same doctor when they cant help. I don’t understand why somebody who were license could not help in this situation when we waited that long. I wish to never come back at this disgusting, unfriendly place.
If I could give this place a zero star review I would. One of the nurses is horrible, she basically alluded that my health concern was all in my head (meanwhile I’m just anemic which led to more serious complications). The physiotherapy is run out of the attic by doctor Kanu himself (not even a physiotherapist exclusively which is a bit sketchy). It isn’t accessible for almost anyone having only stairs. Why would you make a physiotherapy office inaccessible for people on crutches, in wheelchairs, using walkers, etc, when they are the ones in need of physio? Majority of the people who need physio have some sort of a medical condition/disability that prohibits them from walking up stairs, yet that’s the only way to enter the office. It’s ableist. This same doctor was also extremely fatphobic and classist. I shouldn’t even need to explain how it’s disrespectful and unprofessional to tell your patient to “lose weight and just buy a brace from Walmart”. May just have to report that… For a doctor he sure is quite rude to the people who are in need of medical help. Do not go here ESPECIALLY if you are disabled, not skinny, and native (lets not even get into that). This place is horrible.
The staff are nice, but the medical service isn’t great. Doctor was quick to flippantly diagnose my weird arm/hand rashes as eczema, which even I know my symptoms are not consistent with. Luckily, through the Firestone clinic, I learned they are allergic reactions to nickel from food.
Also, please don’t get your blood drawn at this clinic. Got a blown vein and a punctured nerve in the same session and even now, weeks later, I still feel light tinges of nerve pain down my arm. The technicians were kind and apologetic, but it’s frankly not worth the risk.
I've been a patient at this clinic and I miss all the doctors which have worked here. I had a great relationship with them and felt cared for and have been treated w respect.
Dr Kanu unfortunately has no bed manner and on visits is clueless about what medication I am taking or when I was last in for blood work despite my chart being available to him. His interest in taking care of patients is at the most very minimal and im hoping to switch clinics (rest of staff plus pharmacy are great).
We drove all the way from Brampton to get our baby ears pierced, due to covid we’ve been extra careful with things we do with our baby so we found it to be safer to have it done by a doctor/nurse. When we arrived we were asked the covid questions and then sanitized our hands. The nurses were very nice and friendly, Dr. Kanu was very kind, gentle and patient with our baby. The waiting area was clean and so was the room we were in.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Doctor Kanu doesn't care about his patients at all and have audacity to tell that to my face. Requested for a CT scan 6 months ago and I am still waiting for a date. When I called them to follow up a couple of times, office and the doctor said they don't have time to follow up with the hospital and gave me a phone number to check myself and that phone number is not in service. Dr Kanu is not fit to be a doctor, never seen a doctor who takes no responsibility whatsoever for his patients and tells that to his patients on their face and also asks them to look for another physician if one complaints about it.
Really liked Dr. Kanu from first meeting. I randomly went as a "Walk-In" due to a tooth infection, knowing how long I would have had to wait for an appointment with my family doctor. Within minutes I was sitting in front of Dr. Kanu, who immediately recognized I required an antibiotic to clear my mouth infection. It's now a couple weeks later, and I've started to process to switch family doctors to Dr. Kanu. I work in the area of this Clinic, and I also recognize that Dr. Kanu proudly cares for people of multiple ethnic backgrounds in our very multicultural City, and that scores big points with me! I'm looking forward to having Dr. Kanu as my family Doctor.
Absolutely the worst doctor or clinic I've ever been too. It took this guy two months to tell me he cant make me an appointment with a specialist. Just the worst! No wonder their excepting new patients. I really miss my old doctor, but i guess everyone has to retire sometime. Safe your self the headache DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE.
NOT FOLLOWING COVID STANDARDS! I called earlier in the day to book an appointment AS PER THE WEBSITE, and when i called the girl said i was able to just walk in. When i got there, there was ABSOLUTELY no social distancing in the waiting area, I was not asked if I had covid symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has covid. The staff also was not disinfecting and sanitizing the rooms after each patient. People with appointments were also waiting over an hour to be seen. Needless to say i left because they were NOT FOLLOWING COVID GUIDELINES.
Receptionists are rude and incompetent. They are disorganized and are not recording appointments properly. I had to ask the doctor if my appointment was booked on the computer and he said it was not. It’s a shame because the current doctor, Dr. Kanu is doing an excellent job.
Dr. Kanu is a very professional and patient physician. The service he provides is also excellent.the longest I have waited in the waiting room was half an hour. The secretaries and pharmacists are also very nice.
Dr. Kanu has been my family doctor for two years now. He is a doctor who genuinely cares for his patients. He is very professional yet extremely friendly. You can talk to him and feel at ease. The staff is amazing, organized and disciplined especially with COVID-19 I do not feel any fear for the safety of my family. The pharmacist is amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable. The one thing that I admire about the pharmacist there is that he always has a pleasant smile.
I had really bad experience at this clinic. I had a very serious health problem which was not treated as it shouldbe treated. The worst thing was that all my emotions and my health concerns were ignored, nobody cared what i am going through, they didn't understand this problem is affecting my mental health too, i will never recommend this place
Evey single time that I deal with this office I leave frustrated. Unorganized, rude and always giving conflicting information. Seeking a new doctor immediately
Dr. Kanu is always helpful. He likes to get in touch with new patients about all the family background, history of disease. I always gets satisfactory answers from Receptionist and pharmacy all the time. I would highly recommend Dr. Kanu, if you are new in a city and looking for best cure to your disease.
This office offers great services and staff are very helpful. Appointments are on time, even if needing a walk in they are accommodating if there is room to fit you in. Never have used the pharmacy so other than Dr. Kanu’s Office and staff, I give them a thumbs up.
Dr Kanu is an amazing doctor, He attends to all your medical needs and he takes time to answers all the questions. The front desk staffs are amazing also.
Dr.kanu is one of the best doctors I know, he does the best he can do for you and with my difficult health problems, he really committed to helping me so I'm comfortable.thanks dr.kanu for actually paying attention to me n listening to me.because I have seen alot of doctors and there not even close to your kindness.staff is great too everyone knows me pretty well.and always ask how I'm doing, I'm surprised they remember me.
Dr. Kanu is our family doctor and all stuff are very friendly. The space is very clean. There is TV Pharmacy And Good Doctor Parking Free Only For Patients Limited Space But Just G R E A T
Definitely recommend this clinic. I waited maybe 10 minutes to see their new doctor, Dr. Kanu, who was absolutely great, he takes the time to listen to you. My first time visiting and it was a positive experience. They're also a family practice!
Dr. E. Kanu is very friendly, saw him the other day and was able to get me the medicine I needed. Pharmacy on site too which makes things a lot easier. Short wait time and parking in front.
Dr is amazing but the little girl that us the so called receptionist is honestly the worse receptionist I have ever dealt with. I know how to do this hob as I completed the medical office course with honors. This girl spends her time either talking to the pharmacy people or hiding in the back of the office and looks down on the patients for being late well if she was at her desk when the patients walks in the door she would know that they were on time. SO GLAD THIS IS NOT MY DR GOTTA FIND MY DAD A NEW DR OFFICE
Doctor and staff were fine but the premises are awful. Felt like I was in a developing country. Not clean, not hygenic, I probably left sicker than I entered.
