I've been having seizures for over two years now, at first they kept telling me it was all in my head so they would just send me home. Cause I'm on ODSP and over 45, until this year in January when I had a seizure and went to hospital, 30 mins later told me I could leave. Only to take a seizure in they're parking lot as I was leaving smashed my head, broke my phone and spent a week in hospital. They did nothing to fix the problem, they told me I was ok to leave but I wasn't. And then gave me the run around when I asked them to help, and same thing I keep getting sent home after having seizures, were I spend hours vomiting and weak. Top it off I'm being harassed by one of they're nurses outside of the hospital. Good times!

More likely to hurt you than help you. I've seen them bill for procedures that didn't happen, I've seen them refuse to record workplace injury, and I've seen them attempt to criminally charge mental patients they failed to restrain/care for.

If they were less malevolent when speaking with patients and their own employees, I would think that is due to incompetence.

I think it is deliberate. They have a monopoly on care in the region, and they use it.

Our son had his adenoids removed in the Day Surgery unit on September 13th, this year (2023). While there were reception issues upon arrival that had us over an hour behind our scheduled "appointment time" (why do they provide us with a time if it ultimately doesn't matter?), and the overall wait time was longer than we were prepared for, the surgical team more than made up for it. Dr. Hughes, and his team were nothing short of amazing. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Flemming, was informative, and communicative. There also was a female doctor or nurse who was very warm, kind and helpful, as well as the nurse Megan who looked after our son. All 4 team members helped my husband and I to feel comfortable about our son having the procedure, and they all spoke DIRECTLY TO our son, treating HIM as the patient instead of speaking to us & ignoring him completely (as often happens!). Their calm demeanours, and knowledgeable responses allowed all 3 of us to feel prepared for the procedure. The bedside manner following the procedure was the same, Dr. Hughes came and told us everything went well, that he could not believe how calmly & well our little guy handled the situation, and eventually shared those compliments with our son as well. We could not be more grateful that a situation that could have easily been an awful situation, turned out to be a great one because of the skill, dedication and care of Dr. Brian Hughes (ENT) and his team. Thank you, Dr. Hughes - from the bottom of our hearts - for taking such great care of our little man!

I was at the hospital today for knee replacement surgery. I cannot praise the staff enough! From the porters to the nurses to the surgeons the anesthesiologist and all the support staff, everyone was amazing! I highly recommend this hospital with the added bonus of $5 all day parking!

My fiancé and I Went in for Ultrasound and they completely isolate the fathers. They don’t allow the fathers in the room, They don’t give fathers information on child or allow any input and leave them completely isolated and Sitting outside and in my case was suggested I can leave and go something to eat locally around town. This is truly unacceptable and bringing a life in this world should have both parents involved and be an enjoyable experience and this place truly robbed us from that. I feel this place is sexist towards men and they practices are unethical considering the fact they aren’t any health or safety concerns with a father being in the room while discussing and overseeing they’re baby’s health just ridiculous.

The emergency staff and ICU staff were incredible from beginning to end. The hospital is welcoming and perfect when you are used to small town areas as it is not overwhelming. Parking is only $5 and the lot was never full. The surrounding areas made our stay so pleasurable and we need that. Shout out to Dr Narayan, the nurses Anita, Madison, Trish, Kim and emerg doc who was the tallest and bald Dr? You all have my deep thanks.

I don't usually post reviews but this time I had to. I've been in a few hospitals in my life (in Canada and other country) and now I live in Stratford. I've been here on and off in the last few weeks and today I had surgery. Most of the staff was so so caring, professional, supportive and very helpful (all of them were very good but some were extra caring and nice) I never felt more cared and 'loved' in an environment like this. I could feel they truly care for people and love their jobs (I had a miscarriage so maybe they were more sensitive because of that.not sure)
I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone God bless you all

I was in the area today fell sick and went to the ER. I was there and because I did not have a Stratford address apparently I was punished. Patients who came in after me and was triaged after me were sent in to see the doctor BEFORE me. I expressed to the admin that I was in the area not familiar with road at nights and was still avoided. After going through an excruciating triage process because I have small veins. I had to leave the ER. I thought once I am paying my taxes I can visit any ER if I fell sick in the area but apparently Stratford general hospital does not see it that way.

Never been so disappointed in a doctor before in my life. Had a reaction to a shot I received a week prior for preterm labor and still wasn’t feeling well. I hadn’t been able to get ahold of my OB or family doctor so Went to emerg then sent to maternity ward hoping to get some blood work done at the very least to make sure levels were ok. Was seen by dr Christine Bloch and was told I needed to leave and go to Grand River Hospital and she wouldn’t be doing any tests because I wasn’t at the hospital I was supposed to give birth at. Plus the test I was hoping to get she said “wouldn’t even have the results until tomorrow”… what? Absolutely absurd and is complete laziness on her part. I left bawling due to how absolutely rude she was. Stressing a pregnant woman out who is at risk of preterm birth feeling out of it and confused already … great idea. Nurses were great though! Reading up on Dr Blochs background I don’t understand how she is still practicing given the sickening things I’ve read about her.
Was saying how everyone was so nice there and it seemed like it would be a nice place to deliver… so glad I will not be delivering at this hospital as to not risk my baby’s life in this woman’s hands.

In the past I've come here (for my ashtma) and I've waited for up to 8 hours to be checked. I've taken my family and friends to this hospital and have been unable to get them in in a timely manner without waiting for 7+ hours for conditions that near severe.

As of recent, a family member was in a room and is demanded to stay in there to watch over my sibling. It has been 9 hours as of now. They are not allowed to leave - even to grab food - because they can't watch my sibling for 5 minutes? Ridiculous. If you're going to make someone stay, at least feed them for crying out loud! They asked for a sandwich and were never given one! I shouldn't have to Uber them food when I'm 2+ hours away because they can't leave.:/

EDIT: The same family member has previously come back here (unfortunately) multiple times and like always, they barely check him, tell him he's okay (when he's CLEARLY NOT) and then send him home because doing your job is just so hard isn't it!:) Wanna prove me wrong? Do better.:)

I had a great experience here. Everyone from the admin staff, the nurses, and the doctors were kind, caring, and compassionate. Luckily it wasn't too busy when I went and managed to get through pretty fast, and got things done that have been taking months through my GP!

No service, staff fliped out about someone sick leaving the waiting area to use the washroom apparently your not justified in doing that…
People here are having a hard enough time without them making it worse.

This is what a hospital experience should be like! The staff are amazing! My son came into ER- turned out he needed his appendix out. The patience, compassion, and treatment here are very much appreciated. Thank You so much Michelle (you had such great patience with Seth) and Amy in ER,
Sherry in recovery. My god you are awesome
Dr. McWilliam. You are amazing. And all the staff in the operating room who played rock music for Seth to calm his nerves before surgery. And all his nurses including Sarah and Aimee who took such great care as he ended up having to stay.
Every hospital should be just like this one.
Thank You so much

All the staff on the maternal/child unit were amazing during my last trimester, when my baby was hiding and I couldn't feel him move. They never made me feel dumb and always encouraged me to come and get checked to make sure he was safe and ok.

During my induction and then labour which ended in an emergency c-section. The OB's and nurses and anesthesiologist and surgical team were amazing and encouraging and helped me be at ease. And they all watched my baby's heartbeat to make sure he was safe and helped me look after my baby after delivery.

The ladies in the breast feeding clinic especially Jill where crucially in helping me breast feed when baby and I were both struggling. It was worth the stress and tears to be able to nurse my baby now.

Also when I took my 12 day old baby to emerg because he seemed to be breathing really sporadic the triage nurse was reassuring and helped me find a private place to nurse baby and the emergency room Dr was wonderful at checking him thouroughly and double checking her decision with a pediatrician to make sure she was right. They all went out of their way to reassure me that making sure baby was ok was the right decision.
