My go to for client meetings. Food is great. Atmosphere. Service. Love it. Been going here for years.

Food was so good! Potatoes are crisp and fried w ketchup. I got the eggs florentine. Also the waitress was so friendly!

I went to Insomnia Restaurant & Lounge on a Wednesday night for the Mixology night. I had the most wonderful experience. The night was filled with good vibes, good food and yummy drinks. I do not drink alcohol and the mock tails were delicious. The live djs playing music really set the vibe. I was blown away by the deep beautiful beats and atmosphere. I really loved the lounge comfort to hang in with friends. The service was on point. Highly recommend checking out the mixology night! KEEP IT GOING!

Food was amazing, especially the chicken and waffles. Their potatoes are tossed in this house made sauce that really hits the spot

Always a pleasure to come here. High-quality drinks and amazing food. They have some amazing martinis and signature cocktails. One of my favourite ones is the Toronto Sour cocktail. Also, the food is good, recently I had their insomnia burger and wasn’t disappointed.
Overall great vibes and service.

Worth Trying

Fairly typical breakfast/brunch place with a focus on benedicts - and they're good! Loads of potato which they pre-toss in ketchup.

Salmon Benedict is good quality, nothing bad to say but nothing above average. Just solid stuff - worth trying.

First time visiting here yesterday and the food was top notch! Special mention to our waiter, didn’t get his name but he was wearing converse and had a chat to my dad about shoes. Great service and will be returning!

I wish I got the name of our server but the tall guy w/ the tattoos (lol) was very attentive to us. We went for late night drinks & apps to celebrate a bday and he truly took care of us. The sweet potato fries were delicious!

Service was very poor. Came here for my birthday and hostess who greeted us was unnecessarily condescending and rude. It seems like she may be racist toward Asian people. Will be filing a complaint.

Amazing beers on tap and the serving staff was excellent. As I was there to reconnect with an old friend they helped us celebrate with a round of shots.

Food was excellent, place has a nice atmosphere, prices are fair and I wish I remembered my servers name because she may have been the best damn server I have ever had. We were treated well, and look forward to returning.

I get to eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I got to say the service is always great and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Pricing is affordable and they serve sizeable portions.

First time here, I give this place a 3.5 star overall.
The service itself was excellent. The Asian gentleman was our server. If I could give a separate rating for service, I'd give a 5.

The aesthetic of this place is 4.5 star. It kinda gives the urban streets hangout, music is hip hop, scratch funk, vibe.

We came here by luck Googling for a restaurant since we went to 3 restaurants that closed early.
Ordered Lasagna, pouting, chicken waffles, iced tea, blueberry tea.

Lasagna was a bit on the salty/tangy side
Pouting- gravy and cheese, were savory, good but the fries had a coat of salt.

The iced tea is extremely syrupy, as in its 3: 1 syrup to water. The server replaced it twice, it was super syrupy. I asked for a half glass of water to watered it down and that made it taste normal. If it's a fountain gun, may need to check the ratio.

Their feature menu and main courses ends at 10PM. I wanted the Penne. Next time.

Other than that, I'd come back again.

It was something new for me. The pancakes were baked and the fillings were inside it. I opted for chocolate and banana flavor and it tasted really good. Their in-house fries were not like regular fries.

I had the Memphis benny with cheddar and oh my god is was so good. The pulled pork was juicy and melted in my mouth. Love the sauce that came with the home fries.

I came back for brunch the next day. My server, Bo was so sweet and friendly. She recommended the Charlotte benny with Manami buns. The jalapeño sauce really brings out the flavours. I also had the mimosa. It was very refreshing. This is my new favourite brunch spot!

Amazing amazing amazing every single time I go. The Lorraine is my favorite. With strip bacon. Extra hollandaise. The sausage is great too. Their hot sauces add a kick. I enjoy their Caesar cocktails. Expect to wait about 40 minutes on the waitlist but it's still worth it

I hadn’t been to insomnia for food before and was shockingly surprised by how delicious their brunch was. I would highly recommend the eggs Benedict, and their home fries were perfectly crispy. Make sure to make a reservation though, especially if you are more than 2 people. We got there when it opened and got 1 of 2 available tables for walk ins.

Eggs Benny for the win! The potatoes here are to die for. Can get a bit busy on weekends for brunch so I suggest you go early, but even then the food is worth the wait. Lovely ambiance as well!

The Grilled Chicken Burger is delicious. As is the Fried Chicken Burger. But I keep ordering the former mostly.

Worthless cake - ordered the climax cake, so dry and not goey at all. No syrup at all, not worth the money for this.

Chicken and waffles were perfectly executed! Sweet and savoury, chicken was juicy and waffles were crispy. Super efficient service. This has now become a brunch staple.

Service is bad.food is ok depending on meal.pasta was not bad, but poutine with chicken bites was driest I ever had.was there on Sept 19th late evening

They have the best drink menu. I always order the chicken and waffles. Its huge and so delicious. The coleslaw is really good too.

I am going to rave about the eggs benny. It was so damn perfect all the way down from its presentation to its flavour profile that I genuinely believe this spot WILL cure your insomnia.

Wicked atmosphere, wicked service, Tyler is dope. All around great place if you want to talk and hear the other people you're with

This was my first time here and I can’t wait to come back. Everything we tried was so goood and the service was amazing. Our sever was so friendly. Chicken and waffles are really good and so are the fries with the garlic mayo/aioli. They do have a small patio out front but indoor dining seems way better. Highly recommend this place both for the service and the food.

The chicken and waffles was pricey, but very good! The homefries were also excellent and were gobbled up by my friends at the table.

Went for brunch on a Tuesday afternoon and had the bacon grilled cheese. I would say overall the food was really enjoyable and the interior of the restaurant was very aesthetic though we chose to enjoy the nice weather and sit outside. The “patio” seating is right by the main road so it is quite loud and would get quite dusty when trucks drove by. I would suggest maybe eating inside if that is available to you. Also my meal came with fried sweet potato cubes and it was overdone it seems. Some pieces were very hard and were not so nice but the sandwich was yummy and I enjoyed the mini side salad that came with it. Side note, I didn’t order this but the “sunrise mimosa” looked very appealing. I saw the bartender making it when we walked in and I hope to one day try it.

I love insomnia and its my favourite brunch place. However i visited today and I was a little disappointed. I always get the benny but for some reason when it came, something smelled off. I figured it could just be something else but it reminded me of deli meat gone bad. I had the benny Lorraine with pemeal bacon. However it tasted fine so didn't think much of it. The potatoes which i normally enjoy was also a bit hard. However soon after I left my stomach started to hurt and I had to wonder now if I was right that something was wrong. I should have said something when i felt something was wrong. Either way could just be a bad day and won't stop me from going back. But if you think something smells wrong let them know.

The chicken and waffles. SO GOOD! I really appreciate the halal options, very rare to get that outside of Middle Eastern/Indian food. The chicken was perfect!

Service is wonderful. Very friendly. A bit pricey but well worth it and it's downtown anyway. Will come back:)

The food here is always fabulous, I love stopping by for brunch. The French toast is rated as one of the best in the city and the chicken and waffles are packed with flavour! They also have a very cute little heated patio that welcomes pups!

I had been here a few times before the closures and always loves the food and atmosphere. After the closures I sadly forgot about this place, but tonight found it on doordasb foor delivery and I am so glad. I rarely post reviews but the food was amazing as I remembered and im so glad. I live in the annex and this place is worth supporting though all this.

Love this place. Everything is so tasty and fresh. They are known for their Benedict which was tastyyy and their potatoes are unique and flavourful. Overall Worth the wait and the service was good. Yum yum!

Food is always awesome. Best weekday brunch you will find in the city. Servers are always cool too.

First time visit with some friends for Brunch, and was pleasantly surprised with my overall experience.

Quantity of food and price was good and ambiance/decor was relaxing. I liked that there are sofas toward the back of the restaurant if you want to slow sip coffee or a cocktail.

Since the pandemic, I’ve noticed some smaller establishments have cut back on staff which in my experience hindered the overall experience- but not here! We were attended to promptly and often, despite only 1 server on duty at the time.

Definitely will be back!

The food was great! Got the tacos and chicken and waffles. The service was also awesome. Our server was named Bo and she was super friendly and funny!

Got the Minami Benedict with gluten free rice patties. Was surprisingly really nice. Also ordered coffee, which had a hint of cinnamon. Potatoes were cooked well and were glazed with a flavorful sauce. Mixed greens were also lightly dressed. Overall very nice. Waitress kind of rushed us out by bringing bills prior to us asking but otherwise experience was great. Total came up to ~$20.

Exceptional food! Totally worth the wait! The best brunch I've had in a long time. The mimosas here are high quality. I normally don't like mimosas, but I love these mimosas. I'm definitely coming back. I highly recommend the PBB&J short stack. The turkey bacon was perfect and the smokey ketchup sauce on the potatoes is really good. Also the snowball cocktail is exceptional as well.

Food is always consistently good here and the service is friendly and attentive. You can't go wrong with the eggs benny and their home fries, but if you haven't tried the side kale salad I would highly recommend it as well!

We came as a party of four with reservations on a Tuesday night at 6: 00. The restaurant was fairly busy.
We were promptly seated and attended to, but afterwards the service went downhill in terms of speed. It took about twenty minutes to get our orders in and another thirty for our food to arrive. We also had to wait a long time for our bills. While our server was fairly friendly, the long wait time was awful. It seems like he was aware that we weren't pleased at that point because our bill came with free shots.
The drinks here were spectacular. While pricey, the diversity is amazing and the cocktails are very unique. I suggest the Toronto sour in particular, which comes with latte esque art.
The food was tasty, but the portions were small. The fries were probably the best value item on the menu in terms of calories vs price.
I suggest you come here for unique drinks, but if you want a quick bite or big portions it might not be the place.

Really food and reasonable prices but average service. Got there right at opening for breakfast on a Friday and was immediately told if we wanted a table there would be a 90 minute limit, but then took forever to have our orders taken and about a 30 minute wait for our food. Then close to the 90 minute mark someone took away my food before I had even finished (still had some salad I intended on finishing).

I'm always happy when there's vegan options at restaurants that is other than a bowl of fruit or salad. I ordered to tofu rancheros and it was delicious. The atmosphere is also very casual and the decor very instagramable. Iwould definately come back.

Went there about 2 months ago, the service was incredibly slow - but more importantly, i have extremely sensitive Celiacs. Their menu indicated the fries are GF, I asked our server twice if they were in a separate fryer and safe for Celiacs and was assured they were fine. I was extremely sick after eating the fries with a reaction that for me can only mean I unknowingly consumed gluten. Super disappointed this is an ongoing theme for many Toronto restaurants. I get its a big trend for a lot of folks, and restaurants don't take it seriously, but some of us get dangerously bad reactions like myself from this serious autoimmune disease. In any event, I will not be returning.

Ordered the "Heaven on Earth" which is an over-the-top large french toast, stuffed. This place is definitely quantity over quality as the portions were huge, but not special. My wife had the citrus-spiked french toast. We arrived at 10am sharp, ordered by 1020am and got food served just after 11am. Was quite the wait. The french toast at both The Greenwood, and White Brick Kitchen were better. Would not return. On a side note, our server was absolutely lovely.

Amazing brunch! I usually ask for the classic Benedict and they are always really good! I just don't really like the sauce that comes with the potatoes. Other than that is great!

Taste was good. Place was good. Serve was terrible.
If you want to eat some food there, you should wait for 1 hour and 10 minutes. We entered there at 10 o'clock and we could eat food around 11: 20. I had a lot of time this morning, so no problem.
If you have lots of time, there will be great place. But If you don't have enough time, It will be terrible place.

Visited during lunch time on a friday and it was really busy. We only waited a few minutes for a table which was alright. We then waited 15 minutes for our drinks and another 40 minutes for food. Our server told us the long wait was due to a bigger table ordering before us. Luckily me and my friend had lots of catching up to do so the waiting time didn't bother us that much. However several different servers came to our table to tell us that our order will come soon which kind of got annoying after the first 2 times. Food was great and so were the drinks. My friend got a discount for the long wait but I didn't which was very strange to me. Would have given 4 stars if it wasn't for the strange discount handling and repetitive apologies for a long wait.

I loved the atmosphere and food, it did take quite a bit to place and get the bill though once the food was done. Prices as well were higher than other places I like visiting which is why I am only giving 4 stars. I will be coming back to try their brunch and dinner menu as I tried their late night menu only and had the Insomnia Burger and the Fried Chicken Sandwich as I was pretty hungry and a 6oz burger did not cut it for me for my massive appetite

The place is very popular for its brunch. They only take 9: 00 am reservations on weekends. The home fries is awesome due to the secret sauce. The service is so so not in the busy hour.

I ordered food from them through skipthedishes and I never got it even though they marked it 'delivered'. When I asked the skipthedishes support what happened they told me they driver got a flat tire. That's it. Why was it marked delivered then? When I asked to have the food re-sent to me they said the restaurant can't do that.

First time visiting and decided to go for a burger for $12. The burger was fairly small (around 10 cm diameter and tall) and tasted pretty average. The only taste that really stuck out was the pickles. It would be fine as a side but not worth the $12.

Happy they had some vegan options for my brunch. The sauce on the hash browns are delish! Very quick service and wasn’t too busy. Would definitely come back for brunch.

When it's your first Christmas in your new city and you find a killer cocktail bar open all night on Christmas Eve and you have a custom made cocktail as beautiful and delicious as this, you know you're in the right place. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. They are crafting unique and interesting cocktails and it is a place you want to settle in and stay for a while. My only complaint is that it's not closer to home!

Brunch was great; was a little packed so we have to wait more and less 20 minutes to sit. Waitress try to be fast as much they can but, some customers don't help with it

It's a trendy restaurant. The drinks are good. Food is good too. I sampled the tacos and they were all excellent. However someone else at my table had the chicken fried waffles and their chicken was burnt on one side. I'll ding them a star for that.

In one word, YES. This is probably my favourite restaurant in all of Toronto. I would come back more often were it not for the prices, which are a a little higher than would take to make this more than a one-in-a-while kind of treat for me. However, every time I eat their food - be it for brunch, a late dinner, or catering - I know that my expectations (high as they are now that I have had such great past experiences) will be met and, on occasion, even surpassed. How does one create a space that feels intimate yet gives each table a sense of privacy? That is the genius that is whoever is behind Insomnia's interiors. Dimly lit and decorated with small lights throughout, the restaurant is warm and unpretentious. But the food is the main reason I come back here. I do not even know where to begin with the food. I am not a foodie by any means, and I often cannot distinguish subtle differences in the same dish. However, I can tell when food off-the-charts amazing. That is the case here. Every time I dine here, I die a little bit on the inside, knowing that my meals for the next little while won't live up to the meals they serve here.
