Instant Lawns - Sod Installation Ottawa

RUN! This company has got to be the worst company to deal with! They will lie to you in order to get you to pay them, then when you pay them they will ignore you. I paid this company $45,000.00 to complete my landscape in artificial turf. Not only did the company misrepresent their products they will bill you for one brand and use a lesser quality brand, they will not provide you final documents (still waiting on my final grading approval which apparently was done through them but they can’t give you the contact of the individuals they dealt with - “quote from the owner” not my problem) they will not provide you warranty information in writing (which I’m still waiting on) they will blame you for your project and their negligence - they didn’t complete a proper install when if it was done proper the first time a fence install would have no impact. My turf is coming out in clumps and is shedding immensely (according to the owner - normal) My yard is caving as they didn’t install a border to hold up their mountain of stones (which might I add were not properly compacted as I’ve got bumps and holes and the company just says oh this is called settling - totally normal - well to the several other landscapers that I’ve had come by to quote and assist with advice on what to do as my yard is only on year 3 and it’s caving all over this isn’t normal - this is lack of knowledge of how to do a sub base/install of a large area foundation and is not normal. The company owner is impossible to talk to as he will treat you with disrespect and anything you have concerns about is “irrelevant” according to him. They will argue with you - if you are not happy they will say too bad you have to deal - they refuse to tell you where your product comes from and withholds the manufacturer because they know they were in the wrong and took advantage of their customers. They don’t meet customer satisfaction at all and if I can recommend anything stay away from this company - you aren’t seeing all the negative comments or reviews as the owner will put caveats to finishing their work or giving you a refund on a cash back (which might I add, they won’t follow the process and actually carry through a cash back investigation because they don’t want to get hit with the penalty and of course will blame you) they will try and silence you through intimidation. As a woman I’ve felt personally attacked by the owner with his accusations (at one point for about Two months prior to the man actually showing up, argued that my project was completed and they owed me nothing, at one point when I just wanted to get them to take their garbage product that was misrepresented back and give me a refund, he accused me of being financially stressed and blamed ever rising interest rates - which made no sense as it’s going to cost me an extra 15k to dig out the mess they have made with my yard!) my yard is elevated and my stone is caving all over my neighbours yards smothering their real grass (a border would have prevented that if they were going to build up my yard an extra 3” above everyone else’s - instead this has created a slope along the fence a mountain slope in the middle of my yard and my daughter and dogs have gotten caught slipping under the fence. They have created a very unsafe environment) all this above is only a portion of what I’ve gone through with these people. The pictures speak for themselves (all my seams are not seamless as they boast about, you aren’t suppose to see lines in your turf the way you see them in this stuff - this is the “crap quality” oh and the straight lines - aren’t seams they are runs in the backing of the turf this isn’t common in your quality stuff - and no we didn’t skimp out as we paid 5.99 a sqft and even Rymar was cheaper). I’m approaching year 3 and I’m still sitting here waiting on the side that had no impact by a project done last year and has already been paid for. Just do yourself a favour - the negative reviews are quite accurate.

Thank you to Clayton and his team for being so professional and meticulous. We absolutely love our backyard - the artificial grass has created the perfect space for our 3 year old to tear around. This is one of the hardest working teams we’ve encountered - even working late into Friday night before a long weekend. We appreciate your attention to detail!

I highly recommend Instant Lawns! Lucas and his team provided us with grading and hydro seed services, as well as an irrigation system. As the pictures show, after only 3 weeks, we had a fully established healthy green lawn at a fraction of the cost of sod. The team was great to deal with. We look forward to working with them in the future.

Had irrigation system, top soil and hydroseed installed. Did a good job with the work overall. However they were late starting and raised the price quoted significantly one week prior to starting (when it was too late in the season to hire someone else to do it). Also no communication between the labourer and management led to them rototilling areas that were not part of our lawn. Extremely poor communication, hard to get a hold of often saying they will complete tasks then just never doing them. Also won't answer any emails, simply just ignoring them. Decent work but would recommend looking elsewhere.
