My experience with Intact can only be described as an utter nightmare!
Everything from querries being ignored (to this day I have yet to hear from my so called 'adjustor' Kiran Baig!) None of the several messages I left with Ms Baig were returned. I discovered my car had been written off as a total loss from a support agent somewhere in Toronto. This was later confirmed by email from another claims employee. She (the support agent) was the only person I'd dealt with who went out of her way to get me some answers as to the status of my claim. The car rental I had reserved from Vancouver (where I had gone to deal with a family death) was denied when I returned and I was informed that they could not put me into a rental for another 5 days. I was informed the reservation number I was given did not exist! No records of my call anywhere, yet I have a 17 minute call log recorded on my phone to an Enterprise office! I've purchased another vehicle and when I called for a quote from Intact (I'm still scratching my head over that), I was again put on hold and made to wait until the call was eventually disconnected. I will never ever deal with Intact again for any reason. I will make sure everyone I know hears about my experience and promise to actively dissuade everyone I come in contact with, that is considering insurance coverage, to stay as far away from Intact as they possibly can. You people made feel like trash throughout the entire ordeal and that will stay with me forever!

Don't go with them, after canceling my policy they went into my account 3 months later to charge me and then proceed to tell me I owe for canceling even though no one clarified that on the day of cancelation or even sent a letter. Promise you will be robbed by them

Your just a number to them change your claim and not tell you was to get a new paint job on my car but got carstar to use CLR on my car not happy with them I will never tell any my friends or anyone to get intact insurance company for there car or home

I am not recommende this insurance company to anyone. Even I cancel insurance in grace period because I getting new car. You still trying to take money out. Even after you send me email confirmation letter we apart on good terms. Now I am looking for leagel advice.

At the hands of their trusted vendors, my home was destroyed, I was forced to move home to unliveable conditions, no kitchen, no bathroom, one electric plug. The home was gutted and I was handed the keys. Never trust this company with insurance. I’ve had to repair my home myself. I sent a video walk through of how the house was left. No additional funds were allotted yet I had to repair my entire home. For 25k. I live in an unliveable, unsafe home and this company did nothing to help.

This "VERY BAD" compamy excluded me from being able to be drive my dads car just because I had a traffic ticket. They made us both sign a waiver that if I drive the car, then he will be finedm and I wii be fined, and insurance will not cover any damage.

I recommend Intact insurance to everyone looking for an insurance company, whether it is for car insurance or home insurance. I am one of their clients and I have had a very good experience dealing with the claim department. The staff members whom I had to deal with, were all very competent, efficient, and attentive to my needs. Their service was excellent, and I am impressed.

Customer service at first is responsive and nice. Once you get to the core issue, it’s radio silence. Wouldn’t recommend this insurance service.

Such a joke - Modern Times Mafia.
Working with unprofessional Bianca Prevost from Mirabel and the least I can say is that they do not consider us as customers.
10 days to respond to an email only to say that she did not even open the documents we sent at the first place.
We faced water damage in our living room that was coming from our roof and they decided to go and open 2 claims instead of one.so that our deductible becomes not $1,000 but now $2,000.
Construction "expert" ONSIDE, owned by intact insurance, came and did their analysis, and came back with a report saying that the total to repair is $995 for the first claim and we re still waiting for the second to come. I couldn't believe it.

Intact insurance has had my car for 5 months. I have received two phone calls from them in 5 months. It has been one week away for 6 weeks.

They take no responsibility for updating you about progress. They do not call their clients to inform them of delays. They have been an absolute nightmare in every way

I would never recommend somebody use intact insurance. The overall level of customer service is pretty dire. It's not that people are rude or dismissive. It's that the company does as little as humanly possible to help It's clients.

This is the worst experience with insurance I have had. We recently renewed our policy for the year and wanted to simply switch from annual to monthly payments as we were getting a new car later this year and would be changing things up. We sent our payment information in three times and they continued to claim they didn’t receive it. Then they tried canceling our policy for non-payment even though we had the money sitting there waiting for them. I had enough and shopped around for new insurance and found that every place I checked was at least $200-$300 less a year. Not some places, EVERY PLACE. There are many better options. Save yourself the stress. I know a few people with Intact, including the company I work for uses them for our work trucks, and I have recommended they all switch companies based on this experience.
