My best Thai restaurant in my heart! The service was 1000000/10 because they are friendly, well spoken and and enthusiasm. The restaurant was very busy but they still left smile on their face. In term of the food, they tastes uniquely and the price is reasonable. However, the music was too loud for a dine in restaurant in my opinion. Overall, I had a good experience!
Hosted a work lunch with my team and we had a great experience. Friendly personal service, reasonable prices and wonderful food. The food was tasty, made with care and wonderful presentation with each dish. Highly recommended.
Came here on a Friday night at 7: 30pm, and was told it would be a 1.5hr wait Totally worth it! The food was super flavourful and everything came out within minutes of eachother, for a table of 10 I'd say the timing was great. For the table we shared 2 pineapple fried rice, 2 Thai Volcano ribs (which tasted and felt super homey), 2 Pad Si Ew and 2 Curries, definitely a good amount of food, even went home with some left overs. We also got the shrimp cakes as our appetizers and it was the star of the show, a must everytime. Our servers were very kind and always presented with a smile:)
Pros: - 5 star service from waitress - Food was pretty good
Cons: - Host was incompetent, and had poor judgement - Cups and cutlery were very dirty - Had a hair in our pork ribs soup
The host tonight, the guy in the devil horn costume, really had a lapse in judgement. We'd been waiting 40 minutes for a table for 4 and were told we were next in line. But when a table for 4 opened up, he split it for two groups that had just walked in 10 minutes prior. He said one of the booths had settled the bill and would be leaving soon - turned out that wasn't true. Ten minutes later, they were still there, and he said we would be more "comfortable" in a booth. We had to wait another 10 more minutes for another table to free up, and guess what, it wasn't a booth. Seating the two tables makes sense, I get it, but no other groups were waiting after.
The soup in the hair was disgusting, looked boiled to death. We changed cups twice and they were still dirty. 3/4 black soup spoons were crusted with some white film that I could scratch off.
Otherwise, waitress was very nice, and food was decent.
Food was good but pricey. Maybe you are paying for the ambience if you eat there. Very busy on Sunday at dinner time. Called in for takeout and was told it will be 40mins for the food to be ready. Got there and had to wait another 25mins for the food.
Love the food. Very flavorful. Would be an almost perfect restaurant if the food came quicker. Second time in a row that my friend's whole meal came and he almost finished it all before mine came.
Food was amazing. The duck fruit red curry was unique and surprisingly works out very well. The pad kee mao is very tasty and flavourful. The shrimp cakes were fragrant and the mango sticky rice dessert was exceptionally made.
Downside this for place is that they often have a queue for a table and you need to wait 30-60 minutes to have a spot. Some of the tables are extremely close together and you eat very close to other people if they give you those tables. Music is super loud and the whole environment was difficult to have conversation with people you’re eating with because everything is overly loud.
Went there for an early dinner, the music was loud for an early dinner at 4: 30. I don't get why they need such loud music! You can hardly even have a conversation.
The food was pretty good, it had lots of flavor in our meals. The service was pretty fast, and our cups of water never ran out.
I would recommend this one if you're looking for a good thai restaurant.
This place has excellent Thai food! I'm not a fan of Thai food but after this experience I think I changed my mind! I had the regular size volcano ribs and the lamb shank Massaman curry. Both were amazingly tender and flavourful! Highly recommended to anyone who likes their meat fall off the bone tender!
Went for lunch at noon on a Friday, restaurant filled up quite quickly but we got a large booth for just 2 of us and didn't need to wait much. Our server, Thai, was excellent! He explained the dishes with detail and made our experience there very enjoyable. The food was spectacular, especially the shrimp cake. Large portion for the pad thai. I would definitely go there again (next time I'll try the mango sticky rice since they were sold out this time)! Excellent new location for thai food in GTA!
Food is great ……. But kinda disappointing, we made a reservation, and 45 mins in restaurant, the server comes up to us and say “” oh our next reservation is here, and another staff stepped in and say “” I gonna clear out the table now “ we spent a lot of money in this bill…. So if we are a group of ppl that eating very slow…. Then what you gonna do? ! I don’t care if your next reservation is here. We are ALL your customers…. Perhaps you shouldn’t take any reservation at all. Just do a walk in base, no reservation at all
Isaan Der leaves a lasting impression. Despite its small size, the ambiance was delightful and far from feeling cramped. With its tastefully designed interior and vibrant, colorful lighting, the overall experience was enhanced.
The food is reasonably priced, and the restaurant is clean and upscale inside. The area it’s located in is known for food, but there’s something about a Downtown Toronto quality restaurant in the suburbs that makes me happy about living in the suburbs. It makes suburbia a little more bearable and for that, we need more restaurants of Isaan Der’s quality.
The menu boasted an array of traditional Thai dishes I intend to go back to try the dishes that piqued my interest but didn’t order during my first visit (yes, there will definitely be more visits).
While the food was generally good, there were a few shortcomings, which detract from making this a perfect restaurant. The chicken satay, although had a satay sauce from the gods, was dry. The oysters are topped with fried onions, which make for an “interesting” texture. The green curry delivered an exceptional taste experience despite its spiciness and dry beef. Finally, the pad Thai stole the limelight with its unforgettable flavors and visually pleasing presentation.
Would recommend and will return. As of my review on June 1st, 2023, they do not have their liquor license yet. Can’t wait until they do, there’s a lot left of their drinks menu to try.
Entertaining experience for the palet. Truly exotic flavours, plenty of options to choose for vegetable and meat dishes, and finger foods for sharing. Our server was very friendly. Atmosphere is energetic. Will go back.
Great vibe for all ages. Group of 4. Short wait to be seated but the place was already full at 12: 45 PM on a Tuesday.
Server was very attentive.shared pad Thai, pineapple shrimp curry, cashew chicken, appetizer platter. + drinks. We were full with enough for 1 more person if needed.
We were seated near to kitchen and bar. Wasn’t too loud.
Recommendations: Not a big issue but noticed the counter at the bar area was a bit untidy/cluttered - that’s where they place the menu’s etc - could be a little bit better with this.
Not a big fan of the cashew chicken - a little dry and the Thai shrimp cakes - a little bland and mushy.
Overall Enjoyed Isaan Der - definitely on list of places to go with another group.
The best Thai food I ever tried in many years the flavor is authentic and the quality of food is great not like most restaurants that are decreasing their quality of food to save
This spot is a casual eatery serving spicy curries, noodles & rice dishes from Thailand's Isaan region ️
With the fun vibes & atmosphere, it’s def one of my fav spots I visited this month everything was so tasty & full of flavour! The portions are amazing so it’s def a great idea to order a variety of dishes to share & try a bit of everything ️
Like other Isaan Der locations, the food has always been great. I find the portion to be satisfying. I love their Fish Masaman curry, and this menu in this location is as tasty.
However, unfortunately this was all marred by the dine-in experience. We were a party of eight, and instead of food coming out relatively at the same time, they came out really far apart. Imagine having someone started eating and the rest was just watching. It could’ve felt better if some other tables that came after us didn’t get their food before us, but seeing these people got their food first was exactly what happened. We were a bigger group, and the automatic gratuity (while common) really annoyed me with this experience.
I really miss going to the Junction location. Simpler restaurant that doesn’t try to be an upscale place with all the gimmicks like decor, or tablet menu that didn’t allow us to order anyway. With the Junction location, it’s all about the core of all this, excellent food.
Food was amazing! Love the platter. The customer service was outstanding. Specifically, Thai was very friendly and helpful, he provides great services!
The food was DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was super tasty from the pad kee mao to the scallops and soft shell crab mango salad. The green thai tea is also aromatic and super tasty.
I also love the vibes and atmosphere. The changing lights are super fun and the music was surprisingly really good.
The prices are fair and the food is delicious. Definitely a great spot for thai food. They do get super busy so come early or make sure to make a reservation.
Came here for the first time with my family. It is the best Thai food in Toronto for me yet. Service was amazing. Our waiter named Thai was friendly and very helpful. Would definitely be coming back with friends again.
