I love this place! I’ve gone only a hand full of times As I dabble in the kitchen myself! Energy is great, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I recently visited Jerk Island Hut and had a great experience overall. While they were unfortunately sold out of the ox tail, I had the opportunity to try their chicken stew with rice and peas. Usually, I opt for the jerk chicken with rice and peas, which is always amazing.

The food at Jerk Island Hut is fresh and flavorful. The portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. In terms of price, I found it to be quite reasonable and affordable.

Although I was disappointed about the ox tail being unavailable, the chicken stew was a delicious alternative. I appreciate that they offer a variety of dishes to cater to different tastes.

Overall, I highly recommend Jerk Island Hut for its tasty Jamaican cuisine, large portions, and reasonable prices. It's a great spot to satisfy your jerk chicken cravings and indulge in some authentic flavors.

Walked in after 5pm. No roti available. Ordered a large size curry chicken with rice and peas with a side order of plantain. It was filling. It was great. 4 pieces of chicken. Rice and peas, yummy. Loved it. One of the best curries I've ever had. If ever you are up there, stop in and try one of their meals. You wouldn't be disappointed

We frequent this place a lot and have not found another place in all of Ontario that compares to their jerk chicken. The meat falls off the bone and the spice is perfect.

Just take out right now. When you enter you get a very friendly greeting and prompt service. We went at lunch time and the menu was limited to chicken dishes. Curry, jerk and brown stew chicken. If you want jerk pork or oxtail you have to come later in the afternoon. The aroma in the restaurant was fabulous! The jerk chicken was great, nice and spicy. The curry chicken fell off the bone and the rice and peas were perfect. We will definitely be back to try the oxtail and jerk pork. A great place with authentic Jamaican food. And no airline ticket needed!

The staff are friendly and helpful.
The goat curry with rice and peas with plantain has great flavour. The meat is tender and the curry sauce is perfectly spiced.
The Jerk chicken is also very good.
Can't wait to come back to try the other items on their menu.

Good not worth the price. Received red peas soup with “pigtail” with absolutely no pigtails in it and tasted bland.

Heard some solid news about this place, figured I would finally try it out. I went a little so I think it was right before close. They still had food. I ordered a Large Jerk Chicken and a Large Jerk Pork along with a spicy Jamaican Patty. First got home, was disappointed because I ended getting 2 of the same Jerk Chicken. Missed or didn’t hear me say Jerk pork.
Tasted the food.delicious! Patty was soft and tasty just wish it had more spice. Jerk chicken was delicious! Crispy and flavourful skin. Jerk gravy was delicious on the rice. Overall I loved it and can’t wait to come back and try more next time.

Curry and rice was very nice, meat was off the bone too. Needed to be more spicy for my self tho lol

We got the jerk chicken and the chicken stew. Honestly both were amazing, but the stew had heavenly flavour. Well deserved 5 stars.

Have been hoping to find a place like this that I could finally say it surpassed my expectations both with the quality of food and excellent service. My search is ended. I am pleased to say Island Jerk Hut is the place. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the hospitality of the professional service graciously given by the efficient staff. I got the oxtail it was very meaty I'll give it that but it lacked flavor and the coleslaw was so bland they do give you plenty of gravy. I'll try something else on the menu but was disappointed with the oxtail it was just missing that rich flavor

Food was good but portions were small. Ordered a regular jerk chicken and large oxtail, jerk chicken box barely had rice in it and oxtail meal had enough rice just to cover a regular sized carton

I had to wait 9 mins for oxtail because they sell it at 1: 30 - I spent over $30 dollars and the quantity of meat I recieved was insulting.it mostly gravy mask as meat was in it. Not only that, but 90 percent was filled with rice. I tried calling - and the person hung up on me. Never will I ever go back again.

I wanted to take a picture of the food but it was so good I couldn't wait! Excellent food and great service, would definitely recommend!

Spicy jerk chicken, one of the best I’ve had. Real spicy! Saturdays the often have Mac n cheese and some specials. Jerk pork available after 5pm fyi!

Food was amazing and delicious! We got jerk chicken and pork dinner, portions were huge for what you pay for! Staff were also very friendly, will definitely be returning for their jerk chicken!

This place has the best damn goat and oxtail.nicest people run it.a true gem of a place! I really hope they are there for years to come! Highly recommended!

Got their Jerk Chicken Lrg today at 8 and boy was it amazing, chicken was juicy, rice/beans were well seasoned qnd the steamed veggies weren't even soggy! Would 100% recommend if you like spice and great food for cheap, only 13 for the plate!

Ladies pretty friendly small taste test are sometimes are required for customers to determine choices Ask for a sample from a dinner that I was in the process of purchasing for my wife if I would get the similar thing for myself was told they don’t do that I would have to purchase it and if I don’t like it well I believe that was unprofessional

Island Jerk Hut has the best tasting Jerk Chicken at an incredible price! Highly recommend taking the plantains on the side. And if you can deal with spicy spicy food, ask for gravy of the side.

Their oxtail and curry goat is amazing! So delicious! Portion are more then reasonable, and the staff are always super friendly.

My new favorite Jerk spot. Toooo Adictive. Customer service top notch, taste unreal like you are really in Jamaica. Curry chicken is my favorite, and a close second is the jerk. The rice and peas is so juicy as well and seasoned to perfection.

Its my favorite place for jerk chicken. Hands down in Hamilton. The jerk pork is so good, just wished they served it at lunch, only after 5pm. But so worth it.

First time trying jerk chicken - the food here is so tasty, and I loved the fried plantain so much. The price is also really reasonable.

Mouth watering deliciousness. Sampled the Jerk Chicken, the Goat curry & The Chicken curry. The Chicken curry is my fave. Can't wait to try the Jerk Pork and Oxtail next time.

Ordered jerk and curry chicken and also curry goat. It was ok taste wise but the preparation and presentation wasn't the best. Rice with beans and two slices of the soggy plantain on top of it. Chicken was fine but the goat meat was butchered badly with lots of small and sharp bones. Maybe it was a bad batch but in my experience good goat curry should be silky smooth along with fall off the bone goat meat.

The Food is always great but the service is very slow. You’d think calling for pick up and 30 mins later you’d just have to pick up the food and go but nope, you get there still not ready and still have to wait for your food.
It happens multiples times already.

The lady that works here is just lovely and so is her food. I travel from Eastgate area to eat here occasionally.

Tonight my husband and I were craving good Caribbean comfort food, we decided to try Island Jerk Hut for the first time. Well let me tell you it was AMAZING! The jerk chicken with beans and rice took us back to Montego Bay our favourite vacation destination. So delicious and good portions. We will definitely be back and spread the word to all.

Went here for lunch today for the first time. Had the jerk chicken and it was amazing. Highly recommended. Very authentic food with great price and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back!

Went in for the lunch special and all I can say is WOW. Had the brown chicken with plantains and it was amazing. Like my wife I want to try everything on the menu. Staff was super friendly. 1000% recommend it and plan to go back for sure.
