The customer service was very poor.i revived attitude while i was trying to order my food.the macaroni pie was terrible! It wasn’t cooked properly and it was wet with oil.the plantains were clearly over ripe yet, they still use it.i do not recommend.the Barbecue fry chicken was disgusting! There was extra fat under the skin and there was barely any meat.i recommend frying your chicken without the skin and hire people with better customer service.i would never revisit this “restaurant”.

Ordered the lunch time special food 5 bits of shrimp and rice - they have cut the portions so much. Charging people $15 for this

Smaller potions, price increase, bad containers, flies in the food case, nasty attitude staff. Have to find a new place fuh me yard food.

BBQ Jerk chicken is amazing always tasty and juicy. The ladies behind the counter are always so busy but still provide great service.

There is literally no place better for Jerk. This restaurant has ruined jerk chicken for me because no where else can compare to how amazing it is. Island spice, how do you do it?

I had to come and leave my review because this place well deserves it. Let me just say I’m a foodie and VERY picky on where I eat & what I eat. I’ve searched all over the GTA for good jerk chicken and a few places I did find good jerk but there was always something missing. I would settle anyways. I found this place Island Spice recently and I decided to give it a try. Let’s just say it’s been about 1 month now and I am in Scarborough once a week, this is my GO TO spot. BEST JERK CHICKEN! My daughter always gets the BBQ she loves it. My son and I get the jerk chicken and rice and peas and I have to pause when I take a few bites to take a deep breath because it’s soooo good! Cooked with love and has that Smokey Jerk flavour. I haven’t tried the oxtail but I know it taste good because I got the oxtail gravy on my rice and peas and let me tell you, it’s sooo flavourful & good! This is my new spot when I’m in Scarborough!

Honestly the food is amazing. The only reason for 4 stars is the price increase over the last 5 years the food has actually doubled. And portions have dotten smaller I use to come here once a week now its once a month due to the high prices for food.

Ordered fried chicken, rice and peas with macaroni and coleslaw salad, everything was tasty! Loved it and will definitely be going back.

Amazing food! But $2 for this amount of gravy is crazy…. Let alone us having to even pay for extra gravy? It’s gravy! Are you kidding? It should be complimentary with the way the pricing is set up. (photos are before I even poured it on to the food smh).

The food was delicious and renovation made the restaurant looks fancy. They have new containers and I think the owner is trying to pay for his reno by having his customers pay for it in one month. The food portion is smaller than normal. This restaurant is rated $, not sure how this is possible. Paying $20 for a meal without drink should never be a $ sign.

Honestly really tasty & fair portions, hard to find both of those these days. Stew chicken was a little more on the sweeter end for my preference but regardless was still a great meal. Will be ordering from here again.

My favourite Jamaican takeout place. Quality of the food is always consistent. Strongly recommend this place for those who haven’t tried.

Absolutely delicious had the jerk chicken with twice and peas and their oxtail gravy with there delicious hot sauce. They were open on Sunday which was awesome highly recommend

This is the best Caribbean food that I’ve had in the city. The bbq jerk with rice and peas, oxtail gravy and coleslaw go so well together and the combination of flavours are incredible. I’ve tried other food here also and everything is so good, the service has gotten better over the years also. This spot deserves 5 stars:)

So happy we have an amazing Jerk chicken place close to home. Food was excellent. The only problem was choosing the gravy for the rice. I think the person at cash had yet to be trained on their differences. I chose the jerk gravy which three of us loved but the forth person found to be much too spicy. I would suggest a chart since I think there were about four or five options. What is mild, medium, or hot, etc. The dumplings were devine and we will be back again.

I was not carribean food outside of the carribean to be so great.the service was great i felt like back home in Barbados

Not pleased. Very little meat and way too much rice. The ox tail was more bone than meat. The fried chicken pieces were more bone and skin than meat. Not sure I will give them a second chance.

Food is really good and I haven’t had any issues. I frequently go to this restaurant when I want authentic Caribbean food. It’s full of flavour!
