Sarah is amazing. I have always been scared to get a haircur because of poor skills at a lot of places. But Sarah gave me the best haircut. She is so polite, friendly and has amazing customer service skills. I strongly recommend Ivan Hair Salon for women.

Great wash and blow dry, all in good time and with friendly service. The only reason I'm giving a four is because of the dated decor, but maybe that's part of its charm too.

Don't go to Sarah. My wife had to fix what she had done. 10 minutes haircut, exactly what the client wishes. I'll visit another master next time and will probably update the review.

VERY POOR HAIR CUT. The lady has no skills and does men's haircut extremely poorly. Hair looks like a hedgedog after haircut. Worst $30 spent. Surprised she dared to charge after making an absolute disaster. Likely RASCIST against asians as she somehow thinks asians would prefer to look like a hedgedog. Unbelievably ignorant and such a scammer.

I was extremely satisfied with Ivan Hair Salon. I wanted a haircut that was fast but that looked great, and they were able to help me get exactly what I wanted. The people working here are extremely friendly and offered a complementary bottle of water when they noticed I was thirsty. You can call a head for an appointment or walk in. I walked in and didn’t have to wait long at all. I would 100% go back for sure.

Extremely poor experience. Took an appointment to find out that the barber admitted someone else. After waiting for half an hour outside, found that another person had been admitted. No respect for customer. Avoid at all costs.

Went here for my 2 year old daughter’s hair cut. The staffs are very friendly and took care of her gentle and soft. Highly recommended.

Extremely disappointed on how my sons hair cut was performed. The cut was completely uneven and and we have to have it fixed by another salon. Very upsetting and will never use this company again

It's a bit old school but they have a team of skilled professionals. I would highly recommend Sarah. She takes extra care and does a fine job. The staff is very welcoming. It's their hospitality that makes me visit this place time and again.

If you are looking for a really simple haircut, go here since the price is very good. I personally didn't like my last barber since she didn't seem to have enough attention to detail.

Pathetic customer care service, I just called up and they did not answer my query and just hanged up the call saying we are very busy. VERY RUDE

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, run by a wonderful bunch of people. Polite, friendly and very efficient. Corrie is my go to person who is extremely good at her skill and meticulous with her work. Highly recommnded.

It was a basic buzz cut and cost twice what it should have been but the stylist was fun to talk with and did a decent job.

This is by far the worst place on earth. Bad hair cut. Staff cannot listen to any direction. Over charge. I would not bring in a stray mangy dog to this place. Avoid it! Do not give them money for inept behaviour. I would actually give ZERO stars or negative if possible

Excellent service, affordable price and good customer service. The place was clean and the barber was quick to understand how I want to get my hair cut.

Requested top to remain long, and sides/back to be shaved short but to be faded. The barber (I believe named Lina), ended up shaving straight up. Now I have an unwanted punk look. Also felt nicked multiple times by the clippers.

However the man (manager I believe) was very nice and gave courtesy bottle of water.

I went in with a bad haircut from another place to get it repaired, they repaired it pretty well and I love my new style that I am going to stick to this place. Very fast, very courteous and great location. Highly recommended.

Worst haircut experience of my life.

I asked one of the two barbers on Sunday if he can do a fade. He said yes.

I gave him specific instructions:
thin my hair, cut it a bit shorter at the top, and a 0 fade at the bottom and 3 from mid-top for the sides and back of my head.

He used a guard to shave the bottom of my sides (gives me a 1 to 1.5 instead of a 0 which I asked for). Not only that, but the fade on the right side of my head was a lot higher than the left side, and it was jagged and inconsistent on the back of my head. He only thinned my hair out at the top without shortening it like I asked.

He starts blow drying and combing my hair even though he hasn't shortened it yet (he thought he was done), and I point out that the sides aren't short enough, the fade is inconsistent, and that he still needs to shorten the top. He claims that a 0 is not the same as a shave and that I never asked for the top to be shortened. To avoid a bit of tension, I say to him: "Oh I'm from Vancouver, and a 0 cut is the same as a shave. Maybe its different from here. "

He seems nice about it at first. He shortens the top of my hair alright. He gives me a 0 shave, but the fades are still very jagged along the back of my head. Additionally, the fade on the right side of my head is higher than the left side.

As I politely point this out to him. He gets very angry and yells at me saying: "What the hell man? I spent 30 minutes on you already and you keep asking me to do more. You want a good fade? Go somewhere else that does it better. We don't do that here. This isn't Vancouver, this is Toronto man. "

I avoided arguing further. I knew he couldn't fix my hair and I did not want to bother with a barber who does not respect their clients. I got up, paid, and left. I'm not sure if other barbers are better or more courteous, but this man definitely gave me a terrible experience.

Haircut. Ivan Downtown Toronto.never go there. Marina the hairstylist is a completely rude and ill mannered lady with 0 work ethics.and extremely impatient. We took my 18 months daughter for a haircut there. Before visiting we had called and asked if we need an appointment and we are bringing our 18 months daughter for haircut.she said no issues as its Sunday.we reached there and it was not even that busy.when my daughter's turn came in Marina said she will not cut my daughter's hair.we asked the reason.she said rudely that she will cry.we said she is not even crying.she said "I will not waste my time on her. You go". This was extremely rude of her as to how she was treating her customers. The saddest part was that the owner was also standing there and she even did not do anything to stop her employee from treating her customers this way and rudely. The owner actions where she kind of supported her Marina to act rudely to us is even a bigger disgrace and goes to shows much how the owners of Ivan believe in customer service. I would highly recommend to avoid this place if you have kids.the way they treat you for bringing kids to their place is completely unacceptable. Very very poor experience.never ever visiting this place again. Marina is a completely disgrace and the worst hair stylist we have ever come across.

This place is really cute! I was greeted with a bottle of water, offered candy and my coat and scarf were hung for me. I booked an appointment very last minute on a Saturday and they took me almost right away. The lady's name who cut my hair is Lina. She's really sweet, and just focused on my hair through the whole thing. I am a quiet person and she didn't probe me to talk which I think is really respectful. I loved the way my hair turned out! It's exactly what I asked for! She also educated me that if I wanted to get rid of all the damaged hair that I would need to cut it more than I wanted, but respected my choice to keep the length. Definately recommend seeing Lina! When I got up to leave, the gentleman at the front got my coat down and helped me put it on. The rest of the hairdressers said "have a great afternoon" and "you look beautiful" before I walked out!
