Jack Asters was first visit with Grandson & group of YouTubers, was a luncheon. Anyway, Food looked good every one ate good, perhaps just me? Nice venue. Outdoor patios on both sides. Kid wasn’t having it. Just never know going in how they’re but as soon as food came silence. Good on you Jack Asters. Nice lunch

Mediocre food and not a good service.
We went there a week ago while the patio was open and full of open tables. We asked the staff multiple times to sit us outside since this was a special occasion for us, but each time they said the patio is closed (which wasn't). At the end we confronted the staff and manager and all the manager did was to say: Oops, sorry. Now that you finished your meal we can't do anything.

Ron, amazing server. In the ball and honest about food. Mushroom dip.is a must try, especially if you like cheese. Nachos were good, but he suggested to.order extra cheese, and he was right. But the salsa and sour portions tot.he size of nacho are off. Lmao.

Asia was out of this world. Took extra care with our family and checked on us frequently, sharing the specials and giving suggestions that made our experience top-knotch

I had Madi as a server and wow was she great! I wasn’t sure what to get but I was leaning towards the chicken fingers and as soon as she told me the origins of the chicken finger from Spankys I was convinced. Excellent service from an excellent establishment, I will be coming back and hoping I get madi again!

Ordered the chicken strip basket. Fries were COLD.and got recycled dipping sauce.already had left over breading from the last person.completely gross.never again

My fiancé and I came in last Sunday and had the worst experience ever. It wasn’t busy at all. We got seated and waited until our sever Rakeda came to serve us. We ordered 2 salads and wonton nachos. She repeated it. Our salads came before our water and soda. Then when we finished our salad we were waiting a while for the wontons. So we asked her and she never put the order through so we just said forget about it. Then we ordered two of the bow tie pastas it came 15 mins later and we tasted it and had no taste whatsoever. So we asked our server for salt and pepper and she said she will bring it. She never went to look, she looked after her other three tables and neglected us. So we asked another server and he never came back. Then she came back when we both had three bites left with pepper and said I’ll be back with salt. She never came back. After when she passed by and seen our plates done she made an excuse saying sorry all the shakers are empty we have no salt left. After the way she acted we were over our day and wanted to leave so quickly. She then brought these two brownies that looked like they were from pizza pizza thinking that would do anything. She didn’t even apologize which we weren’t expecting. We will never be back. And there should be more servers who enjoy their job and are passionate. Those excuses were very unexceptable.

Went here three times food is pretty mediocre service is alright but my friend and I went here once and the minimum tipping amount was 18 percent? I feel like the waitress deserved a 10 percent tip since their service was mediocre and so was the food. Went here 2 times before and service was better those other 2 times.

James was hilarious. His banter was great. Tossed a beer. Not sure how they did that. Unreal. Otherwise patio is nice. Food was cold. Ah well.

Out of ingredients for the first drinks we ordered, ordered wings that we never received. Music was to loud to have conversation without yelling across the table. Our table was roughly 6 inches aways from the table next to us. Server needs to be responsible for bringing the food to the tables so they can manage the orders.

Went to Jack Astors and man it took all of my strength to not walk out on my server. She was incredibly rude and everytime I said something which was not even hard requests like asking for mayo. I got a huff and an eye roll. At the end of the dinner we didn’t end up tipping because we were so flabbergasted by the service. She then shook her head and rolled her eyes again. I’m shocked offended and I had a horrible time.

I love this place! Best Jacks in the city! All of the staff are great! From the hosting staff that always welcome me with open arms and some sass (you know who you are.lol) but I know it's all out of love which is why I keep coming back. To the bartender staff that's always friendly and professional. To the servers who's customer service level is top notch. To the supervisory and management team that exemplifies leadership at the highest level. These people make this place feel like home to me and that's all a customer wants in a bar/restaurant.that home away from home experience. Special shout outs to. Christian, Megan P, Kiera, Megan M, Tamar, Trevs, Connor, Ronny, Julie, Juliana, Vanessa, Kait, and to all the others I missed. I feel like I'm accepting an award at the Academy Awards but I'm accepting it on behalf of Jacks Yonge/Dundas for restaurant of the year. Keep up the great work!

Been there for the first time and it was a wired experience with the staff. We were told by the lady host outside the door to go to the restaurant next door because of 20 minutes waiting. We didn't mind waiting and waited for our turn. It was only 8 minutes and we we offered a table for 3 as per our turn. Then while ordering for the drinks the waitress gave us the look as we don't belong here only because my friend pronounced wrong name of the drink (we don't go to the bars or restaurants everyday). While ordering food she was so sarcastic stating that only 1 fish and chips for 3? ! (We wanted to drink first).
We wanted to ordered more but Everytime she was passing by Rolling her eyes and grinning which was so rude and embarrassing as we rushed and left the table adding 20 Dollar tip to the bill. Its all because we understand the restaurant job but not every customer is patient enough and judging customers and giving them these gestures is not acceptable at all. Before job training the staff (specially the one who served us at the door and table) should learn some basic values and how not to judge customes on the basis of their skin color or language.

Hostess was AWESOME she was able to move us when we came for drinks Tuesday night. Ended up staying til closing, weather was great that night. Highly recommend and would totally come back next time we're back in Tdot!

Had a great post-movie dinner here! Dallas, our waitress, was awesome and the chicken parm sandwich was delicious!

Came out to celebrate our friend’s birthday and our server Julie made the experience so wonderful! She was so friendly, was very attentive and was just so joyful. Had such a fun time and she added to it so much!

Was at this fine establishment yesterday and we had an impeccable night! Food was great, the vibe was immaculate, but our server Zoe truly made the experience sensational. She took very good care of us. Will be back again; hopefully in her section!

Lovely time food was great. The best part of our visit was our host server Kiera who was amazing.

We got together after a very long time to celebrate family. The person who went on this festive journey with us was Kiera. She was funny, kind, patient and very efficient. It was a pleasant experience for everyone. The laughter will last longer than the night and add to our many experiences we share together.

No one was helping us to order even though it wasn't busy, so we just had to seat there and wait for a while. The food was amazing. But their service wasn't good and the waitress was rude (she also was rolling her eyes in front of us). I'm never gonna go there again because of the service we've got today.

Maddie was my server and made my birthday so special! She was so welcoming and kind and gave me great drink recommendations. She is so knowledgable of the menu and made my night wonderful! Would definitely eat here again solely because of my server, maddie.

Emma and fishbowls is why you should come to Jack Astor’s! Emma is what made our night she is so funny and entertaining! So when you come here for a good time you need to include Emma as your server or you’re missing out!

Our server Julie is genuinely one of the best servers we’ve ever had. She was literally tailored to us and made sure we had everything we needed. She acted like shes been a server for years WHEN ITS ONLY BEEN 3 DAYS! Absolutely unbelievable service. This is our new jack astors location from now on and it’s all because of her. 10/10 recommend

Unprofessional + disappointing to the say the very least. Clearly lessons in customer experience and hospitality 101 needed by maître d' + staff! Chef needs to go back to chef school to relearn how to make steaks and it should NOT be at the expense, time and patience of paying guests, who are not being served free.
Friendly advice, if you are looking for a good meal consider McDonalds as an alternative before heading to JA. At minimum, if the meal you order bombs, McDs will offer refund, serve again OR simply add in a coupon to get you back again. Customer / brand loyalty.alas!

We walked in and quickly got welcomed and greeted by Trevor the bartender. Excellent customer service. He a extremely personable and engaged with all customers even though it was very busy. We were new to the city and he made sure to always check in and even gave us tips about the city. Thanks Trev! Drinks were amazing and dessert was bomb. Recommend it, 10/10!

Drinks selection was impressive, lots of unique drinks. Food was very good! Lots of variety as far as pub food + unique dishes!

Atmosphere was great! We sat in the patio, with a view of the square! Music was excellent!

Nah, this ain’t it. We ordered a chicken sandwich and the thai sesame chicken. The food was very bland. The two stars are for not having to wait too long for a table and the view from the patio.

Visiting Toronto and had to stop at Jack Astor’s at Yonge and Dundas. The food is always fresh and delicious. Got the Nachos and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Of course no visit to Jack Astor’s would be complete without a cold beer. So many to choose from on tap. Got the Barking Squirrel and it did the trick. Lastly, our server Tamara was super friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Horrible service, the manager pretended like he cared. The manager told me to go write a letter to Doug Ford. Wouldn’t recommend going here.

We ate at the patio. There is a 1 and a half hour limit of staying. Before going in you have to scan the code at the door and sign the form provided for contact tracing. Social distancing was implemented. Food was great and fresh. Love the ambiance at the patio. Walk in is available but you have to call to be sure.

This location is not taking reservations, but the wait was about 25 minutes, not bad.

The patio setup is well spaced with potted plants inbetween tables.

It's my first time visiting any Jack Astor’s restaurant and the first time since patio reopened.
First of all, me and my friends have to wait for an eternity to sit at an available table. You also have to be prepared to sit separately if you’re a group of 5 or more people. However, it's a common practice nowadays (unfortunately).
Secondly, we’re waiting for a waiter to take an order for 20-30 minutes.
Thirdly, the food is overrated in my opinion and isn’t anything special (I ordered pasta and the plate wasn’t even properly cleaned before serving). I paid 49$ for a juice and gin, a Stella Artois beer and a pasta.
Fourthly, they have a weird policy. They didn't allow me to come to another table where my other friends’d been sitting, while my friend had come to our table. They also asked me to provide an ID because I look younger than 25, but eventually they didn't check it.
Finally, we decided not to give them tips because of poor service and the waiter threw a receipt at my friend.
The only things I liked are chill vibes and the AMAZING view of downtown Toronto.
All in all, I liked the place and the alcohol but the service, food and policy are unpleasant.

No one is there to answer the phone, Get you, your order for takeout or help you at all. Don't waste your time here during the pandemic. Go somewhere else.

First time there. The waitress was very nice. Even the manager connor was very friendly and gracious. Told him it was my first time there and he took the time to show me the amazing patio and i appreciated that even though they were very busy he still stayed a few minutes to chat. Great experience. Will definitely go back.

My sister and I had a terrific time. The food was great, but what stood out more was the server. He was really friendly and didn't have any attitude like most young people.

First time going to this location slow service not good food.all 3 of us have been sick since leaving this place! Will be spending my money somewhere else!

They were so nice! And the food was amazing. They really take the time to come and ask how everything is going and making sure our orders are okay and if we need a refill.

This place used to be good, the past six months I am not sure what happened. 4stars if I was reviewing last year but long ridiculous wait without any acknowledgement. Servers not as friendly not get a vibe they want to be there. To get service after seated on last visit took 20min only drinks once we had to wait and finally got manager who found someone, 20min to cook a burger and fajitas? Food is fair price for this convenient location before or after movie but the wait causes stress. Many better restaurants including the food court that I will be selecting from even cheaper. 1star for quality of food and 1star for prior when they deserved my business.

This location of Jack's gets understandably busy, especially when we went on Friday evening. Nevertheless we were seated at a table in under 5 minutes without a reservation which is great! Our waitress was very friendly and had a great sense of humor, even bringing a sparkler in our pitcher of beer when we joked about getting a fancy pitcher. The food was pretty decent, no complaints there. There are plenty of tvs to watch the game from any angle. The patio is covered and heated so if it's not too cold outside (I'd say -5 or colder) you should be more than fine out there.

I went here last night with my friends. Firstly the food took forever to come we were starving. Second, i got the buffalo chicken fingers they were average, very small in size compared to the price i paid for them. My friend ordered the nachos and got around 5 nacho chips on a long unnecessary platter. My other friend ordered the 5 cheese chicken mac and cheese. The cheese and chicken were both missing from the mac and cheese. The pasta didnt have any flavour seemed like they just put boiled pasta in a plate and served it to her. So disappointed and never going again.

Service was horrible! The food was terrible. The soda was watered down to the point that I just had to order water to replace my pop. They didn't put all the toppings into our salad until we asked them to. It was a terrible experience and I will never make that mistake again. Save your money and eat in the food court you would have got better food and definitely better service.

This place use to be a go to for me and my partner to celebrate or just have a date night. Lately they have been changing the menu every other month and the food is not good. It use to be delicious but now you get cold food for a high price. I ordered the fajitas and they were suppose to come sizzling (says it on the menu) I got cold food and a bunch of cooked watery peppers and maybe 4 little pieces of steak for my fajita building. Not good at all.

Good food, but the staff could be better.the waiter made my friends and i feel uncomfortable as soon as we sat down.kept pushing us to buy alcohol trying to be friendly but it was creepy.got our orders wrong even though he confirmed with us before leaving, and rushed us with the bill (for the tip) because his shift was ending.we asked for water, but ended up getting it about 30 minutes later and AFTER we already paid for the bill.so quick to give us the bill but couldnt get us water.bad service.

Nice location and view. I had a server named Vero R.purposely short change me, she claimed to forget. The Jack's itself is great though Im really unhappy about the service

I got seated at a table, I waited twenty mins and no one even acknowledged me. And I'm sure the manager saw us waiting and yet he waited five mins later to tell one of the servers to serve us. Really bad customer service to be honest.i won't be back. I rather go to Joey's. Better food and customer service is way better. Learn to improve! Even buffets deliver better service than you. Absolute trash

I love this place. The only place that makes a fantastic salmon meal that fits my picky taste buds. They have a lot of other wonderful meals and have every time visiting only shown me and my friends why we love visiting to the location. The staff are amazing and super friendly. The place does get busy which only shows you how much others enjoy it to. Suggest you call ahead to order if you want take out or if you want meals ready upon arrival. If you have time to sit in, the tables are well kept and clean and the service is quick but food varies based upon what you order. Speaking on hygiene, this location has been pretty good at keeping everything well maintained. Yes this includes the bathroom.

Love a drink with pals? Great place to come and sit at the bar or a table and order a few rounds. Many different types of drinks to fit all the fancies.

Terrible, every waiter and waitress was on their cell phone and or talking with each other and did not look after the paying costumer. I feel coaching them as you'll do would be a waste of company time. But go ahead and have your coaching meeting.in this meeting I bet you won't fire the person whose playing on their phone. If you don't. You should be fired!

Paid 18$+tax for a fajita bowl that is suppose to come with chicken. I substituted the chicken for tofu.not a problem. I was then charged for the tofu when my bowl came with chicken. Not only did I over pay for my meal but at least give me the chicken if your going to charge me for it. I would have given it to someone else. So frustrating.the bowl wasn't worth 18$. At least just give me the tofu free of charge.
