Our server Paiten (not sure how to spell it) was very kind at first when we arrived. She was nice and kind before we ordered our food. After we ordered we could not find her anywhere and we asked other servers if we could get napkins and they said to wait for our destinated waiter. My group of 10 waited for 20min just to get some napkins and she brought 1. We ordered dessert which we were not happy with and our server started to give us attitude. She split our bill wrong which we corrected her (we could have just ignored it but we are honest people). She brought another worker with her and started whispering about us in the corner then she and her co-worker started giving us nasty stares. All was good untill the end of our dinner where the attitude was very much not needed. It's her job to serve us yet we could not find her and when we did she was quick to leave with a nasty attitude to follow. Don't think I will come back to this location again. Staff is just rude.
Jack Astor’s Barrie is a great place with great vibes, from all of the serving staff (especially Lindsay) and bartenders (especially Jordan!) to the management Jack Astors can feel like home to anyone that walks in! Love the trivia they host on the tvs and also the trivia nights they have allowed us to host (and contributed prizing for!) with my workplace and gym Athletic Kulture! Would highly recommend to anyone!
My wife and I stopped in after a date at princess auto. We decided to have a late lunch. We started with some appys. We had some bruschetta and some Asian wonton nachos. The bruschetta was very fresh, lite and tasty. The nachos were amazing. Full of flavour and a new type of Appy. Our mains were the bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and street chicken tacos with a side of beer cheddar soup. Just amazing the burger was very dripping juicy and my wife couldn't get enough of tacos, she took a couple of spoonful of the soup and instantly asked for a take home container as the food was so plentiful we couldn't eat it all. Kelsey our server was great making sure we didn't need for anything to the point she made sure she brought me the very tasty BBQ sauce to try. It was so good I found myself covered in it. She is a definite asset to your company. Can't wait to return and try something else
All i am gonna say is you’re guys KM is a grown adult women yet takes her time to make comments about young adults she had previously worked with they are inappropriate and frankly disgusting i don’t think people would wanna work in that environment knowing that you are gonna be made fun of and put down every shift
Went to Jack’s for the fire time and Barrie and everything was great. Service was fast and friendly and the food was great. Definitely and nice space either on the patio or inside to relax and grab a bite with family and friends. Definitely I’ll be back to try some more menu items in the future.
They got my wing order wrong got the wrong sauce mixed in.it was okay though server was friendly offered to make another one but didn't want the wings to go to waste.
We were a party of 4 adults and 4 kids on a Sunday late evening, when the restaurant was fairly empty. Unfortunately, our server had left a bitter feeling in our otherwise perfect day.our server didn't make us feel welcomed and made us feel as if our business was not valued to the establishment. They never came to check up on us after our order was served. Every time we had asked for anything extra, like lemon wedges or even water, the glass/plate was just loudly slammed on our table. Please do not order the shrimp tacos. It comes with 3 measly tiny, overly fried pcs of shrimps! Also, the tuna poke was too spicy. We enjoy eating and hanging out at Jack's in Mississauga all the time. But this Barrie location was a huge letdown. We'll never take our business here again.
Our server Tristan was fantastic. Food was delicious. Wonderful employees. We were there with a wheelchair and scooter for a birthday lunch. Nothing asked was too much trouble. Customer service at its best! BRAVO
Nice atmosphere. Perfect service. They wrecked the cheeseburger. It's now 2 patties. Reminds me of a cross between big Mac and Wendy's patties. Fries were mediocre. Fast food for double the price. I loved their old burgers.
My 5 star review is for Christine - the wonderful woman who served us at Jack Astor's tonight. She was festive (tis the season), enthusiastic and clearly took pride in her job. She made the experience extra enjoyable. Thank you!
Boys Hockey Team. We descended upon them without warning. Boston Pizza advised it would be 30 minutes. Jacks took us right in. Quick courteous. Wings were large and delicious. The chicken Pad Thai was bland but not bad. Washrooms clean. Only complaint was a mixup on desserts but rectified promptly with apology. 5 stars for doing what Boston Pizza couldn't.
Fave restaurant always fabulous food and drinks. All staf are very friendly and accomodating. Weve been coming to this location for years and its Fantastic, Every. Single. Time.
Went to the Barrie Jack Astor last night. Food was terrible there was a piece of plastic in my son's chicken sandwich. I told the server who got a manager that did nothing well he offered a dessert but when we said no he did nothing. My mum ordered a chicken sandwich to and instead of honey garlic on it l think dropped the pepper pot on it. Nothing good to say about it. If l could give you zero stars l would. We are never going back.
We a group of 7 girls went to dine in and everything went pretty well until the end when we were paying our bill and Tipped the waitress. But, the waitress Shonna. S was so rude and told us that “Now you didn’t tip me so I have to pay the kitchen and the host staff from my pocket so next time make sure you tip us”. Which we DID! Even after she said So much we did not disrespect her at all. It felt like she was taking her frustration out on Us just because we are BROWN don’t mean we should be treated like that. So rude and no sense of customer service and I’ve been here almost 5-6 times and this never happened before. Never coming back again.

I think we just got discriminated by one of the staff members because of my daughter’s service dog or maybe she was having a really bad night. The thing is that me and my daughter were dinning there and when I call the waitress over to ask a question she snapped at us. I know she was busy with another customer, but the place is very loud, and I didn’t want her to walk away. All I wanted was to be acknowledged with a: “I will be right there”… or something similar.when I try to explain that to her, she asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager… I then said: sure! I guess I want the manager now that you mention It… The manager apologized and send another waiter over, and he was amazingly kind. I think that she was discriminating us because she was treating other tables much more differently than she treated us. I almost got up and left… it was a very strange experience. Please talk to your staff so this doesn’t happen again. We all have bad days, do not bring it to work.
Should probably train your hosts better. Front staff were clearly prioritizing Uber Eats pickups over walk-in customers and I walked out after being ignored.
It brought me back to my first memorable restaurant visit. As a kid, I'd go to Jack Astors by Eaton Center in Toronto, after my mum was done shopping: p. I saw the same hilarious wall art, and insane TV setups. The staff were AWESOME. (There were less peanut shells on the floor (throwback).
Thanks for the awesome visit, my fiance and I left full and happy. Your location rocks.
Please train the staff properly! Good communication and customer service are very important factors for any industries and this particular location lacks them.
Yesterday night was a very bad experience for me and my family. “WE FELT WE WERE ONLY TREATED IN SUCH A MANNER BECAUSE WE ARE BROWN”.
All 3 employees had no communication of what the actual matter was and the frustration was removed on us.
First time eating out since the pandemic. So much outdoor space and staff was super helpful and nice. I got the chicken seasame stir fry bowl and it was amazing. I think they added to the recipe. I would definitely Recommend:)
Staff were very friendly, Food took a while to come and they gave us a item taken off our order because of that, Beyond a very understandable speed issue for getting our food we had an amazing time and the food was great, Easily my favorite restaurant since I was a child.
On July 16th night, we were asked to leave the restaurant and we are glad we did. We found a much better location where we spend amazing time together with my family and thanks to Jack Astors.
Ordered chicken fingers and sweet potatoe fries and to my surprise I seen a calamari ring attached to my chicken fingers, and my fingers weren't as good as the normally are. Very disappointing, most likely my last time eating from here.
After visiting this location for 5+ years I have found the food quality to be consistently good. It's also a nice place to have a drink with friends (pre-pandemic at least).
Our first patio experience since the shutdown moved into stage 2. Our son, his girlfriend, my hubby & myself went to celebrate Father's Day. The food was great, and our server Jordan, was so much fun and an excellent server I might add.:)
This is the best and busiest bar in town in my opinion I have been going here for over 20 years the food menu has recently changed and it is fantastic keep it up
Went for lunch and the food was great. Fresh and hot. Had the chicken fingers and fries. Best chicken fingers I have ever had plus you get lots. Service was amazing. Also they had a magician going table to table who was phenomenal. Hope he is there next time we go! Highly recommend!
Even though it was quite busy we were seated fairly quickly. The staff are quick and effective, very friendly. I love that they have games for kids and you can color the tables! Our group of 3 had a great time and the food was SOOO GOOD! Got to us very fast (especially since they had two hockey teams in). We loved the bbq burger, Italian burger and chicken strips. Would come again and recommend.
My friends and I go here so often but after each visit we ask why. The service is always bare minimum and we always find ourselves waiting for something
Amazing staff, fast service, awesome food! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very modern and comfortable. I’m never let down every time I come here with my girlfriends
Standard type pub/restaurant fare at a decent price point. Haven't had to wait more than five mins without a reservation most times (weekends). They have a great selection of beer on tap and plenty of TVs for sports. Typically quite loud inside. Kids menu is available.
Went to watch NCAA basketball/march madness.they played all 3 games and raptors game on all TV's (can't hear commentary cuz music is playing in restaurant but that's ok). Had a big bowl beached drink. ️️️. Attentive and kind staff.good food and atmosphere.definitely come back here
Great place to meet with friends and family. Excellent selection of menu items for everyone. Sometimes it can get noisy when the restaurant is busy. But still a nice place to eat.
Amazing staff, fast service, awesome food! We let the staff know what they were about to deal with and they took us on with a smile and the best service.
We dropped in with a party of 9.5 autistic kids ranging in age from 5-14 and 4 adults. We let the staff know what they were about to deal with and they took us on with a smile and the best service. It’s like they knew what needed to be done to accommodate us from the location of our table to bringing out the kids meals first.the staff were friendly and the meal delicious! We will definitely go here again the next time we are in Barrie:).
I have always been a big fan. However the meal we had lastnight was not good at all! I get it, it was a Friday night, so it was busy! We ordered 2 panbread (the whole reason we love this place) both came to the table burnt! Right away put a sour taste in my mouth. Then my daughter's food from the kids menu was spicy! Which upon inspection of the menu. Most dishes were! I'm not a fan of spicy food! I found my options limited. The service was sub-par. The food was nothing to rave about. They whole experience in my mind was not good. Upon speaking with a manager, she reduced our cost and have us free dessert. Which we were thankful for. Still not the service and experience I normal have from one of our favorite restaurants.
