We really enjoyed dinner with work colleagues there. Chicken dinner and also chicken strips and tacos are good choices. Prices are reasonable as well.

Super fun atmosphere and always a good time at Jack Astors Lansdowne! They have a great menu that is often updated to change things up. The pricing is reasonable and the staff are amazing - always patient, organized and kind. Fun activities and decor as well! Great place to dine whether you are on the patio or indoors!

Good food, pretty good with allergies, however when I ate here, there was a bit of a problem with paying which was a bit annoying. Located in a very nice area. Expensive, but that's not their fault, it's just inflation and stuff which I don't know enough to talk about xD.

Food was not good. Everybody in our party felt ill after lunch. Plastic cheese slices on a $22 burger?
Might as well have gone for fast food at a third the price.

This location is quite cool since it has games - adults can get up from their table and go play a variety of games while waiting. This being said, we found the service quite slow; we ordered a tonic water. We got our food before getting the water and the server even came to tell us the bar was backed up so we asked for regular water. Otherwise, staff is friendly and we LOVE the food here. The pan bread and the chicken bowties are so so satisfying. They also have a new mushroom gruyere cheese dip appetizer that's very very yummy.

The music had a great selection. The server was curious. The manager was super kind and understanding as they served me a meal after I ordered something not seeing so well.the didn't charge me.

Went to the Redblacks football game yesterday and decided to wait till 9p.m. To go for supper at Lansdowne Jack Astor's. Our server was Naomi and she brought our drinks instantly. After roughly 10 to 15 minutes I tell my wife that I'm gonna go check because I think she forgot about us to place our order. Sure enough I was very nice with her and she was in shock and thought I wanted to pay for my order but told I haven't ordered yet. So right away I told that its all good. She placed my order right away. She was very apologetic and told me that she had a long day. I understand cause both me and my wife have served before. 5 minutes later the Manager John came to our table and told me he was going to take care of me by paying for my wife's thai bowl. He was very professional and told me that he would get his business card and he would take care of me next time I was in. So we ate our dinner which was amazing and then waited for our bill which never came so me and my wife go inside and John had forgot about us again. Rough and busy night. When he saw us again, right away he said it was on him and took care of the whole bill. He gave me his card and told me he was gonna take care of me next time I'm in. I wanted to say that although it seems like a bad experience. I was very impressed by John and Naomi who not only took care of my bill but they were amazing people and handled the situation like professionals. They made sure me and my wife were satisfied before we left. Well done John and Naomi.

Made reservations for last night after the Redblacks game. We were seated quickly - that’s about where the good stopped.

We ordered a garlic pan bread, it came out very “well done”. Ok, not a huge deal.

I ordered a rare steak frites and my wife ordered the hunters chicken.

Steak came out medium well and piping hot all the way through. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come check on the table after the food was dropped off. When I showed her the steak and said I’d ordered it rare she said “ok… so…what would you like me to do? ”
“I’m sending it back”
“Ok I’ll see if I can get them to fire another one” - no apology, no ownership of the situation, no definitive answer. I was given a “I’ll see” - unacceptable.

A few minutes later she returned with the fries off my plate and said they’d be sending out another soon. Over 20 minutes passed between the time I sent the first steak back and the time my new one, actually rare arrived. (Reservation was for 10: 15, we arrived and were sat at 10: 05 and it was 10: 50 by the time I got the second steak. By which point my wife was done her meal. The server didn’t wait to have me cut in to the steak to verify the temperature or even make sure we were satisfied.

By the time she came back to check, I had finished eating and we had asked for the bill. She brings the bill back quickly and then looks at it “oh give me a minute and I’ll have the manager remove the steak from the bill” - ok, great. The manager comes over, very apathetic and reeking of cigarettes and asked about the experience. I told him about my steak, the pan bread and my wife mentioned how salty the chicken was.

He told us “ok, I’ll take 50% off the bill”

Great. Right? Nope. We get the new bill and quickly pay as it’s now been over an hour, and we’re just looking to cut our losses on the nights experience and leave. So we pay quickly and after the transaction, grab the receipt to file it. Only the chicken was discounted under a “staff meal” discount.

So the manager comes back around and we point out that we had paid, but it turns out he didn’t discount the steak. We were open to either a refund on the 50% for the steak or a gift card for the 50% - either or.

His response was “well I gave you 50% off as a staff meal, because that’s what we charge our staff but we have a policy that they can’t get steaks discounted so that’s why the discount didn’t apply” - I fail to see how exactly that’s our problem. He was the one who offered the discount in the first place and then didn’t adhere to it and then tried to shrug it off. When we told him that was unacceptable, we were told “well, I’ll have to reopen the receipt, refund you the total amount and then charge you again…. So. ”
“No problem, whatever you’ve got to do. ”

He looked frustrated and defeated. He leaves, fixed the bill and then comes back, drops the machine and the bill off at the table and then reaches across my wife and hits the OK button on the pay terminal to just bring up the tap screen option. We pay. And then he hands us the original receipt “here. So you can see that I actually gave you 50% off”.

All in all, terrible dinner service, terrible service (never did get the second Cesar or the water refill we asked for) and an absolutely brutal floor manager who had the customer service and hospitality intelligence of a dejected paper bag in the rain.

There are many other options for food at Landsdowne and our experience has been very positive at all of the other spots either pre or post game (we see 10-15 67’s games a year and 5-6 redblacks game. We spend a fair amount of time and money at Landsdowne). Jacks is usually a safe choice - we’re big fans of the Hunt Club and Kanata locations and have never had a bad experience at either.

Will not be returning to this location. Crust and Crate next door actually wants your business.

Very cool and unusual bar! Especially appreciated the ping pong table and the basketball court! I enjoyed a fish bowl with my date and we had a great time!

Excellent family experience! Making the phone reservation with John was delightful, checking if there were kids etc. We were a group of 10 who were hoping to eat between the double header rugby games. We did come early, prepared with our order but Server Kat and the Kitchen and team were on it! Genuine smiles and a speedy delivery. And ALL of the meals were very good. A variety from Pad Thai, Lobster Dip, Burgers, Wings, Salads and Fish & Chips +. Thank you!

Always love a good batch of wings from Jack Astor’s. This location was surprisingly emptier than other spots on the Thursday night we went, maybe because it’s a little bit tucked away. Still, Jack Astor’s is Jack Astor’s. Wings are crispy and toasty as always, and the hot sauce never disappoints.

Nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was fresh tasty and served quickly. Enjoyable evening

Had the plant based Mexican bowl and it was so good! Service was fairly fast for how busy the restaurant was. They had the absolute weirdest channel playing on TV. Fair prices.

Amazing Holy Smokes burger…I found it quite large and a good price compared to other burger places. The jalapeños and crispy onions, chipotle mayo make it so good. I couldn’t finish the burger though. Fries were amazing (possibly my favourite fries). Very juicy.

Steak was very good! Perfectly cooked, very juicy. The green beans and red peppers were cooked so well. The baked potato was very good.

The wings were probably the best I’ve had. Juicy, crispy-perfect. I got the medium spicy buffalo wings. Nice fresh veggies on the side.

Came here on a busy Sunday evening yesterday, they texted me to let me know my table was ready. Friendly staff- will return for sure!

Went here on a date night and everything went well. Server was very attentive and stopped by often. Our drinks came almost immediately and appetizer, main and dessert were served separately leaving us plenty of time to enjoy the food while we waited for the next item. The server even split our main for us without being asked. We just mentioned we'd be sharing it. Nice atmosphere, great service and the food was very nice as well. Would go again and the kids menu is pretty great too for bringing the kids along.

Stopped here after Christmas market. Not too many surprises at a Jack's. Decent service. Food could have been hotter. The sports area is an odd quirk to this location. Ping pong, bball and video games.

Food is terrible. I had the classic burger, which according to the description, has two patties. It does indeed have two patties but they are small and thin. And they were way overcooked. It was like eating a couple of hockey pucks.

Service was slow but at least they were friendly and apologetic about the wait.

Our waitress was super nice I wish I knew her name so I can say it, but I’m def going back just because of her service. Food was also good. Prices weren’t as high as I thought’.

Went for dinner with a friend. Ordered a veggie coconut curry bowl, chicken to be replaced with cauliflower. When I got the meal there was exactly 1 tiny piece of cauliflower, that's it. I asked if they could add more as the dish was supposed to have a bunch. They brought a little plate of cauliflower and I was disappointed to see I was charged for "additional veg" in final bill. Otherwise was good.

Everyone here was so kind and accommodating to our large party of 10! The food is also great, and they have so much selection.

I will definitely be returning here the next time I visit Lansdowne!

I ordered a group order off of uber eats and in the past the food would come in one bag and for whatever reason they decided to package everything separately and when the uber driver picked up the food they only gave them half the food and when it arrived we called the restaurant and they said that they would call uber but that doesn’t help us because we can contact uber ourselves and they just told us to reorder half of the food but now we have to wait another hour to get the other half of the food.the host naina was of no help and neither was the other host.

The staff and the establishment have found the perfect balance of serving a busy clientele and meeting Covid safety precautions. The service is as quick as you could expect such a busy location to be, the menu as satisfying as pre-covid supply chains could allow, and the barriers between booths allow as maximum an occupancy as the establishment could permit. Great service, great food, and a great chain (that needs a East end location!).

Sang happy birthday for my friend when she walked in and they didn't even do anything special for her. To be fair it wasn't her birthday but still

Food and service were good. We had a good time and our waiter, Dereck, was extremely nice. I just wish they had healthier choices on the kids menu.

Good service, very good food. Waitress was a little bit difficult to get a hold to, but it was opening weekend post-lockdown, so difficult to blame her. May have just been an unfortunate timing. Overall quite good!

Customer service is really good, and although waiting times can be a headache, the food is worth it!

I Fill welcoming when I pick my order. This bar really organized and front door is sociable.also this bar is populair arround the ottawa Community I love it too.

We enjoyed the food. The protein side of the meal was delicious, but would say it would’ve been more filling to have more proteins.

The fries were decent.

The only fault of the takeout would be that my chicken fingers were soggy and ‘moist’ from the heat.

But I would say they were a good meal to have with delicious sauces!

Delivery. Arrived right on time. Food was nice and hot and very well presented. Everything came labeled so was easy to figure out who's was who's. We also added a drink package Blue raspberry lemonaid. Super concoction. Was alot of fun to make. The dinner and leftovers package really does leave you with leftovers. Add on the soup.

Worst service and experience ever. The manager is very annoying and makes it hard to even be seated at a table and is rude and made my experience terrible. I was on the patio and was told after it was raining I could not even stand in the entrance. Everything I asked about was no. Will not go back.

Glad to see them open. Waitress was super nice, and really helpful as I was on a very tight timeline from start to finish (waiting for my son). She also included a cookie for him, which was super sweet. A+

I came in on Friday and first off let me say the host is amazing he told me his name but I forgot it if u could kindly remind me the name it would be great but anyways the food was excellent the tables were clean and a great atmosphere

I ordered through Uber Eats, and it's a gamble if the staff will read your comments. I asked for enough extra onions to ruin a date kind of amount on a burger. You did not disappoint. Also, dip the burger in the cheese and beer soup as a side. Thank you to the chef who worked so late on a Monday at 1030pm, the server who had to take the order, and close on a Monday evening corporate

We love this location as the staff is fantastic and super friendly! They have a lovely patio that is lovely to enjoy when the weather is nice. They’re also equipped with crayons and other stuff which my children love!

Enjoyed live music in the bar at Marvest (part of City Folk Music festival). It was packed when we went Friday night (line up for restaurant). The Mojitos were tasty, and the food is great. Large trendy sports bar and restaurant with big TV screens. Fun vibrant ambiance. Friendly staff, good service.

This evening I took my boys to Landsdowne to see the Christmas lights. My best friend and her kids who are friends with my kids and have been together through all this were meeting us there. My kids have been in online school during the pandemic, haven’t seen their old school friends in months and so were excited to spend time with their other circle. When we arrived she had mentioned they were at Jack Astors as the kids were hungry so we decided to join them. We were seated at a table ourselves as 4 is the current limit, and our table was about 20 feet across from them so we were visible to each other. At one point one child came over from their table to say hi to my son. It’s natural that a child would want to see their friend and he’s a child and did so not realizing. One of the hostesses came over after to tell us that we couldn’t walk over talk to the other tables. I said that we understood but then to let the other table know too as my kids hadn’t left the table. We ordered and were waiting for our food. My son moved from his side to sit next to me. He made a comment to his friend at the other table, he was not yelling but spoke to his friend from where we were. Moments later a manager came over with a stern look on her face and angrily told us that we had already been warned and that were not to be talking to ppl
At other tables. I explained to her no one had said not to talk and he hadn’t left the table. She was extremely belligerent and said no talking was allowed at all because it could spread COVID and they could be fined etc. Now believe me I understand, I understand the pressure of their job and what the restaurant industry is facing, and the rules they need to follow to stay open and not to be fined, but there could have been some understanding showed here. Which I said to them. My child isn’t trying to break any rules speaking to his friend who was 20 ft away, it was the first time they had spoken in that way in the time we were there.

In any case they were extremely defensive, showed no compassion to these children and obviously didn’t like that we were trying to reason with them and the situation and said that at this point they were going to have our food that we hadn’t received yet packed up and ask us to leave. My son was so confused and upset and in tears, and while trying to comfort him they kept insisting we need to leave. I told them they were upsetting my child, I need to deal with him and then yes we were leaving and without the food. They insisted they would wait right there by our table and escort us out, and I’m livid at this point. As I said, belligerent and no compassion. I told them they could have deescalated this situation a long time ago but instead they chose to create an argument and in front of children. They could have said what they needed to say and enforce their rules in a completely different tone and manner which wouldn’t have led to an argument. I got their name before leaving and informed them I would be addressing this incident.

Now this isn’t a post to say boycott Jack Astors or any restaurant for that matter. All of our restaurants need support right now. And tonight we were trying to do just that. But it seems that our business was not wanted in this case. All I’ll ask is that, Jack Astors Landsdowne work on training their management and staff on how to deal with clients with children, and to show some compassion and proper use of tone when dealing with issues that arise. From the minute we walked in to when we left were weren’t made to feel welcome, with the exception of our actual server. It’s a tough time for everyone and we should all be showing compassion and support to one another, but especially to the kids. Everyone’s kids are confused, stressed and dealing with a situation which is not normal to them and they lack the same understanding we do to cope with it. Compassion is the lesson here, that’s all.

Service très courtois et rapide. Filets de poulets maison délicieux. Bon choix au menu nourriture et au menu des boissons (plusieurs bières). Beau restaurant, beaucoup de places et terrasse intéressante.

I really like this restaurant, they have great drinks, good food and superb service.it’s a nice place to watch sporting events and the service is superb.

Great and friendly service. Good selection of popular beers. Nice outdoor terrace. Were disappointed with the size of 2 ft long nachos for about 15$ which only contained a few bites (about 9 bites).

I came today with my family for Father's day dinner and I left the place giving them the parking ticket to validate. At the exit I paid the full amount for the ticket as if no one validated it. I went right away to the manager and I spoke to her and she started giving false excuses as if it was the first time at TD and said things like the weekend is expensive and thats why, the hourly parking is something like 18 dollars per hour etc etc. I told her I live in Ottawa and this is my 1000s time being in TD and I know how much it is and I know you cover an hour and I stayed only 2 hours and I paid for 2 hours and it is a mistake from your employee not me. Say you do not want to pay but do not give me false facts. I told her I am a customer and I am not happy by your meeting and she just replied "well, I am sorry go and talk to the parking company, I cannot help you". For me it is just few dollars but being treated this way for a special occasion is really bad.

I love Jack Astor's and I am not happy they hire such managers who really ruin everything.

Always great food. Plus the different t-shirts worn by the staff are original, different and hilarious.

We were a table of 4, went in Thursday night to watch the basketball game. We got sat immediately. Then our drinks took over 30min. Server missed one of the appetizers. The other 3 got their mains and I got it 10min later. We asked for a side of fries that we never got until we asked again. It ended up taking another 20mins. My boyfriend asked for some sauces for his wings as he can’t eat them without sauce. Which took around 15mins as well, for SOME SAUCE. No manager touched the table during the whole experience, server was barely present in her section, wasn’t writing anything down and was very overwhelmed. The server could clearly tell we were annoyed. Horrible experience. And she made us pay for everything! Even the fries that took an hour.

Never a bad time here. Every other Jack Astor's in Ottawa is the worst but the Lansdowne location is soooo different. Phenomenal atmosphere, always the absolute best service and the food is so freakin delicious! I come here very regularly and can honestly say I've never had ONE bad experience. This is my happy dinner place <3 Thanks for the amazing quality and service!

Applebee’s quality food for double the price. I got garlic shrimp pasta and the shrimp was definitely not fresh and the sauce tasted like a jar of ragu sauce. My husband got bbq ribs and wings, they were also subpar. Giving 2 stars because we had a big party and they were relatively fast with service and their house lemonade was good. Won’t be returning.

We arrived (group of 9 after our softball game) around 10: 20pm. The restaurant was half empty and though normally closed at 11pm, would be open late because of the Raptors game. We asked for a table *and only wanted drinks. * We waited more than 5 mins for a table while a group of staff conferred about us 10 feet away. We were told by 3 different staff that the kitchen was closed to which we repeatedly replied we only wanted drinks. We finally get a seat and the waitress repeats the same deal about the kitchen. Then says the bar announced last call and we better get our drink orders in fast.

Great place to hit before a 67's game or a Redblacks game. Best chicken fingers from any family restaurant. Good appetizers as well. Great service!

Show up around 4: 00 restauraunt is practically dead. We get sat in this dark corner, no screens, and as far away from everyone else as possible. First strike. It felt intentional. Second strike. Took our waitress a good 15 min to even arrive to inquire about our drinks after we watched her walk around slowly and empty handed. What is it about us they don't like? First time I've ever felt the need to walk out of a restaurant.

Good food, service and music but I wish they didnt have the same cat, dog, helmet cam, people jumping off of things videos on some of the TVs.same.videos for years now and never underatood the purpose.

Very good. All the food is delicious and wait staff are prompt and polite. Music is mostly 90s and early 2000s which is awesome id only wish they would turn it down a little. I wouldnt recomend this place if conversation is your goal, but otherwise its awesome

The place is pretty cool, our waiter unironically said "eh" so that was very nice - he was really a homie-g. The TVs also play cool videos in the background. The food was also really good and the wait was pretty short. 10/10 would recommend.

Tried going to the Local and it was packed. This place had a great atmosphere at the bar and the nachos were also pretty good

Good food, nice atmosphere, right under the theatre. They do those loud birthday things where they draw attention to the fact that it's your birthday and everyone else in the restaurant politely cheers.

Good food.reccom3nd the beer/chedar soup.just be carefull to ask if you havecany kinda food alergie. The new menus dont properly list ingredients.

Great service and the food is always good. Love the atmosphere! Always a good experience. Highly recommend!
