Faced the usual reluctance when asked to be seated at the table for 1 with the bar being suggested. Got helped around 10 mins later. Ordered some steak and had to wait about 5 mins after the food got to the table since I was missing cutlery so the steak was "resting" on my table. Cut it open, overcooked when I had asked for Med rare it was medium well at best, so had it returned. The replacement steak was okay, and was rare/blue rare this time. I was hungry so didn't feel like returning this as well.

A trip east isn’t complete without a stop at Astors Argentia. Food and service is always great, and new to me is the ability to add music via the app. Great to meet you KiKi (probably spelled wrong) and thanks so much to make my experience a 10

Yesterday my friend and I attempted to enjoy lunch check# 1824370

When we sat down you could her music playing in the background

But about half way thru the music at least tripled in volume, thus making it impossible for us to carry on a conversation across the table

We asked the server if she could turn down the volume and it went down just a little

Still could converse across the table

This is certainly no place for the elderly with hearing aids

A management team member came around and asked if everything was okay and we mentioned that we could converse because of the loud music

She stated “ I’ve turned it down once I’m not going to do it again” and stomped off in a huff

We were nice in asking but treated with great disrespect

I will choose to dine at other places

First time at this Jack Astor's location.

I came to visit a friend nearby and we decided to gather here.

The establishment was very clean and well maintained.

We were assisted by a wonderful lady at the bar area, and I, unfortunately didn't catch her name. She was super friendly, polite, and very helpful. (This was yestarday Thursday Sep 28th 2023 around 4 pm)

Kudos to her for marking our visit, even more pleasant.

The food was awesome, and they do have a great Canadian beer selection.not just the regular american's terrible beer!

Cat was our server on Thursday November 4th. She was attentive and a conversation starter. Our food came out quick. But the pop how over was flat. I am pregnant and have been craving and drinking sprite. I told her the pop was flat and she gave us a can sprite and then took it off the bill

Had a wonderful Halloween lunch here. The food was tasty and my server Cat was very festive and accommodating. I definitely recommend this restaurant, even more so if you are lucky enough to have Cat as your server!

Absolutely loved it! My dad and I had a bad experience at a different location but really love the Harvest and Fiesta salad so decided to give Jack’s another shot, and thank goodness we did. The Argentia location provided amazing prompt service and made us feel welcome. Caterina was amazing, if we could request her to serve us every time we would. Thank you Jack’s Argentia you redeemed our opinion of Jack Astors.

Great place to bring kids. They give them crayons to colour with on the crepe paper table cloths.

Food was good but the music was way too loud in the dining area. This made it difficult to talk at our table and interact with the masked wait staff. Everyone had to basically yell to talk which we know we should not be doing during this pandemic. Unfortunately the managers hands were tied as music levels are mandated by head office.

Charm is the best ever! So happy to see her again and receive her fun, friendly, perfect service after 1.5+ years! Thanks Charm!

Came in for dinner and was impressed with everything from the greet at the door, food and service. It was a great atmosphere. Everything came out quick and Melisa was super sweet and attentive we didn't ever have to ask for refills or even the bill she was on the ball the whole time. Made great recommendations for drinks and food. For sure we will be back

We came in for drinks, the bartender "Yas" was fantastic to say the least. She guided us through all of our choices, was quick and really fun to talk to. Hands down one of the best experiences ever going out!

Our waitress was fabulous. Her name was Kiki. She made my wife's and mine evening so much more enjoyable. I would go again in a heart beat if she would be our waitress. Chicken Fingers were also very good.

We were seated on the patio on a cold fall night and they went out of our way to provide a great (and heated) experience.

Had a great experience when we went for lunch as a family. They have made all the necessary changes for a safe dine-in experience and also have a patio area set up outside.

Our server Nivi provided exceptional service and we enjoyed the food and the experience.

Ever in the area and you grab food at Jacks’ ask for Charm to be your sever. Exceptional service received. Came in with my family party of 7 and she treated us like family.

Had an enjoyable time, 100% will be coming back! Ask for Dante next time you go, super personable and made our experience 10/10!

Fun place but not well set up for team parties and associated billing. All they have to do is find out the player Jersey number and the parent of that player. Link both to that number and voila! What's so hard about that?

Location is always accommodating and the food has always been excellent. Kids are big fans too. Great family atmosphere

The food was. Ok but very greasy and not as good as I remembered it. Nothing truly healthy on the menu other than a salad. Which let's face it, is not cooking; its throwing some raw ingredients in a bowl. Deep fried broccoli?
Our kids meals came first, which meant that they were done by the time our food came. And, I had to entertain them otherwise while my husband and I tried to eat our dinners. The poutine was under a heat lamp so the plate was hot but the cheese didn't even melt, the kids pizza wasn't that good either. Literally tastes like store bought pita, spread with canned tomato sauce and topped with a pound of cheap marble cheese. Just not impressed. Sorry Jack, we won't be coming back no more. (No more, no more, no more.)

Good was Luke warm at best. My burger was just meh. Nothing special. My husband had the steak. Not very flavoured. The mash potatoes were unseasoned. For dessert we tried the donut holes. Unfortunately these were way overdone and almost tasted burnt. Won’t be back.

To begin with, we were sat at a very dirty table (underneath), so we moved to another table. We attempted to let a server know we moved that way they were aware, but I guess with the loud music no one could hear us. Regardless, we noticed the supervisor on duty notice us but did not greet us nor acknowledged us. We waited for about 10-15 minutes before being greeted, which we had to call a server over for. We were hesitant on leaving but then the server whose section we were in appeared very apologetic and friendly. She was quick to get our drinks and our food order. Once we received the food, it was cold. We returned some of it to warm up, which was actually re-made instead, which I was happy about. When another supervisor/manager came to drop of the food, he was also very apologetic. Overall, it was an OK experience, the food was tasty but the service can be improved. Perhaps the problem could've been avoided if the hostess communicated with the server, or if the supervisor on duty was more attentive. The dining room was not very busy, and she seemed a bit timid to approach the table. I am hesitant on returning to this location.

Our wonderful server Gurleen took good care of us. I tried a different entree highly recommend the Mexican salad bowl so delicious. A really good family restaurant. Bring the whole family great accessibility. My preferred location.

My girlfriend and I showed up to this restaurant for lunch, after having a rather trying morning! Marcus was the best server EVER! He even patiently listened to our ‘horror’ stories about our morning! Heh, heh. We had a wonderfully tasty lunch, and an overall wonderful ‘ladies who lunch’ experience! Thank you Jack Astor’s! You made our day!

I always enjoy the food. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but perhaps on par with other restaurants. Don't care for the short shorts of the waitresses. But I suppose that helps the bar traffic. Can't beat their pan bread. It's sinful.

I swore not to go to another Jack's since having bad experiences at Square One's location. But this location was so much better! The food was so tasty and fresh. Even though they were very busy, they still delivered great service. Apparently the kitchen staff there is one of the best!

Great service. He served we had was always checking on us and to make sure if we needed a refill or anything and that was amazing.

Our waitress was very friendly. I had the tuna salad and my husband had the chicken fingers.food was good and came quickly.

Extremely disappointed with the service at this location. I went there for a nice lunch with my girlfriends and the service was absolutely horrible. We waited to speak to a server for about 15 minutes after being seated, another 20 to get our drinks. The manager offered us free nachos as compensation for our wait, which would have been great if they had come before our entrees. We hardly saw our server after our orders went in and never had the option to get refills on our drinks. When we were finished eating it took over a half an hour for anyone to even start clearing our table. The manager finally came around and started clearing it herself, bringing one meal at a time to the back to box them up and refused to let us box it ourselves, which would have gone a lot quicker. Our server finally came back and proceeded to give us all receipts that were wrong. She went to the back to fix them, which took another 20 minutes. Overall, the experience was tedious and slow. Would not recommend anyone attend this location. Save your time and money.

This Jack's is by far my favorite one! The restaurant itself is MASSIVE and still they manage to provide great service to both the bar and the dining room. They have tons of big screen TVs around the place playing sports or news, and during the big sports events they always have them playing. Staff are great and friendly, and management actually cares about keeping customers happy. Don't pass this place up.

Terrible food. Terrible service. Manager Janny is a racist and has favourites. They hire people within the family and not from outside. Do not give these people your money. Any other Keg will suffice, this one is terrible.

This review is based on a dinner experience on NYE.

We had a party of 18 people (thankfully we had a reservation)
As expected the service was a tad bit slow but we didn't think it would be too bad.

When ordering drinks, we had a bit of difficulty because every alcoholic drink we chose they were out of, or couldn't accommodate certain fishbowl drinks for smaller glasses. Frustrated after 3 tries, a few of us gave up and decided to order classic pop, but sadly they were all very flat. Even all the beers on tap we ordered were also flat.

I ordered the Asiago Chicken Bowties and they were delicious, although the portion was a bit smaller than other locations I've been to.

Gluten-free options are limited here, 3 people in our party who were gluten free went with the steak (sadly there were not many other options)

Vegetarian Options are okkkk, I would definitely suggest asking for a vegetarian substitution over some of the options. Like asking for the Asiago Bowties with broccoli instead of chicken.

SIDE NOTE: If you come here on NYE around 9pm they do a kid friendly NYE countdown where the servers hand out partyblowers to all the kids (it's cute for the first 5 minutes, but gets increasingly irritating for the rest of the night)

Overall it was a pretty good experience, especially on a super busy night like NYE, but I probably wont be back to this location.

Gave this place a few chances for takeout, every time i ordered it was a bad.steak would be under cooked, my mashed potatoes had huge chunks of potato (hardly mashed at all) and had huge pieces of potato skin in it.ordered peppercorn steak and did not get any peppercorn sauce with my order.fries were missing from an order also.i would not recommend getting takeout from this location.i only ordered takeout from this location so that is what i am rating the service on.

Busy for this time of the year.service is ok, you have to be ready to pay $10 / 12 dollars a tap beer (pint) with taxes and tips.

Prices have gone up slightly in recent months, but the food was delicious and the service was friendly and lightning fast.

I just want to say a huge thank you to the Jack Astors crew tonight. We had such a fun time celebrating New Years a little early with the kids. They loved the hats, noise makers and kid friendly "bubbly" to toast 2019. The count down was the best seeing how excited they were. Not to mention even though it was packed the food still came out fast and hot.

I am extremely unhappy with the service that was provided to me. I asked for water, which i guess they ignored. When asked again for water, It took them nearly 20min. Every second item in menu was not available. Had to ask for cutlery, which I suppose is essential part while serving.

Wide selection of food and drinks. Drinks were a bit expensive at $8 for a 17oz pint. It's convenient and good pub food

Tons of wings for a hunger group of guys and our server interacted with us as if he could be one of our buddies. He read our Dynamics in seconds and set the stage for an enjoyable evening.

Honestly, there's not much to say about this place. The food is mediocre. I've been a few times with my lunch crew and nothing I've ordered has wowed me. The wait staff are generally polite and efficient, which is great.
