In a great location downtown.parking is scared but did find a parking garage for $3 1 block away. 2 levels so lots of space. Staff was attentive and food was great.

The service was great!
The place was cold in temperature. I've seen other customers looking cold as well.
Food needed a kick to make it a return visit.
Don't see us returning.
It was also pricey for what we received in food.

Outstanding service from energetic and engaging sever named Abby A! Professional conduct, she quickly rectified a meal deficiency and kept a free flowing beverage atmosphere. Her light and witty tableside banter made it feel like home!

Although food and service were good, the music on the upstairs patio was too loud to carry on a conversation. It might be appropriate later in the day or for evening crowds, but at lunch time, when there were several families with even small children present, it made for a negative experience for our party (even after the server attempted/pretended to turn the music down).

Been going here for quite a while and the staff are always polite and friendly. If something isn't what you expected they will fix to your liking. Bryan is a super bartender and very attentive to your needs. The food is made from scratch and the people there are always fun. Great place to go.

The truffle fries are delicious here! Our server, Jordan was very friendly and brought out our food in a timely manner.

Overall great experience at the Jack Astors in Kingston. The food was great, but it was the genuine high quality service from the staff that made my time there so much better. Shout out to my awesome bartender Kaitie!

First time at this location and I love seating at the patio where you can see beautiful view. The food was good and the staff are nice. The only down side is that they are under staff.the server takes longer to go grabs order and serve. Other than that it was a nice experience.

Super cool patio. Food was bland, one of the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had, no sriracha available. The Coke in my drink was totally flat.

Good place to eat, nice and super friendly staff, cool and amazing environment. Make sure to eat "Buddha salad. " It was amazing, delicious and refreshing. I really liked this place.

Went on Thurs for my gf bd. It seems Covid has made people crazy. They messed up our food order had to wait for them fix it. Bees were crazy. They should put traps on patios to help with bee issue. Server seemed confused about what happened. I hope places can figure out staffing issues. They did do best to social distance everyone and had misting poles set up. Will go back when things settle out bit.

Tried to make reservations by calling, could not get through.showed up in order to make the reservation, not busy but we wanted a later time. My husband was seated by the hostess, and when I inquired about a table at the edge (rooftop) I was told that we would be moved when the first table opened up. This was not the the case.
We waited 15 minutes for our drink order, could not sample the beer and ended up with a very light plain beer.

Took another 20 minutes for our do if food order to be taken.

Hats off to the chef, the food was amazing.

Over all it is hard to recommend this restaurant.

Was to be texted for a table wait if 20min, never happened. Stood outside waiting within sight of the hostess. We had to go and ask after 45min and told they lost putting us down for the table.

Really bad customer service. I was there in today to spent some good times with my friends and the person at the front end asked us to come back after 30 minutes so that we can have our dinner in the roof top.we were happy that within 15 minutes we received the text saying that our table is ready. As I was waiting near the host stand were all the people were standing with there phone. The employee who was passing by there suddenly approached me and asked me to collect the parcel bags at the corner and asked me that I can check it with the order number.she thought that I am there to collect some delivery packages for Uber or skip the dishes. This was like a shock to me. Do you treat every international people like this.we do pay our taxes and also follow every rules.we came here to make our life better and I believe we are working really hard for that. Yes we do every kind of job but don’t judge us on that. Never expected this from you guys. You all are very lucky to be in this country were you have all the opportunities.she might have not done this intentionally but you spoiled my day and i am writing this post because this should not be happening to my brothers and sisters.please do go through your mission statement and think wether you treat everyone as great people.

I wonder why there is no option of 0 star. Went there 3 times every time it was disappointing experience. Last night I went there at 10pm one of the server who served us said kitchen is closed but host at main door said it closes at 11pm. So rude service of server she didn’t even served any water or cutlery. We just ordered 2 things and still she was rolling her eyes at us. Worst experience not going there anymore and never recommend anyone.

Recently a group of us celebrated a birthday at Jack Astor's. Our server was incredible, The manager not so much.if you're calling ahead to make reservations and one of your attendees is using a wheelchair make sure you're very clear with accessible seating arrangements. The manager on duty clearly was not familiar with these types of seating requirements. It's hard to set a wheelchair at a booth table. Her attitude made it evident that she was having a bad day and perhaps should have called in sick rather than bring her negative energy to her place of work. 1 out of 5 for the manager's professionalism. 5 out of 5 for the amazing server that we had.

Great food. Too bad they ran out of ginger beer. Service was great. Had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was delicious.

Worst experience ever with the awful customer service. She (an employee) insulted us after half an hour of waiting to have a farewell party for our best friend. Her behavior was rasistic and Discriminative.
My humble friend was so sad, they ruined our night.
Tonight could be a fun and memorable night for us as a friends. But Jack Astor's staff ruined that. As an international it really hurts us, we don't want their service what we want from you" Jack Astor's"

If you’re going to this Jack Astor’s, i recommend getting the finger foods or their appetizers and fishbowls. Unfortunately, the mains are disappointingly dissatisfying. The service was good, the vibe is excellent, the servers and the place is great! It’s a huge location with 3 stories including the patio. Just so disappointed that the food is not the best part especially for the price. So not worth it. Nonetheless, if you go there you most definitely need to try the fishbowls! Those are alcoholic beverages in a giant bowl that you can sip on for hours and have no worries after finishing 2 bowls. Don’t be the designated driver if you plan to drink them fishbowls.

I like the roof top patio, one of the best locations in Kingston. My salad was overdressed but everything else was good.

Food is basic but it's good. A little pricey for what you get. The original chicken tenders are excellent though if you had to pick one thing. The roof top patio is also beautiful and the only reason I'd go back. Staff are all friendly.

Not many vegetarian options are offered and the ones that are offered taste average. But the staff is super friendly and the place is so lively. 4-stars for the staff and the ambience of the place! Arrive early on weekends as this place is super busy!

Rude hostess. We left before we made it 3 feet past the front door. No interest in eating in an establishment where it is acceptable to treat the patrons with such disrespect. Another couple witnessed the host speaking to me so rudely and they chose to leave as well. I understand the stress of the job but I felt like I was being blamed for whatever must have happened previous to my arrival. Jack Astor's, vet your employees.

The food was OK, both burgers and steak. Just the plates were not cleaned properly. Four plates, one had water, two had small pieces of vegetables. I asked to get new plates. Also waited about 20 minutes to get the bill because it was very busy.

Came for the view and what used to be my favorite chicken tenders. They've slipped on the latter. Large patio and service was good. The sanitizer made the table ridiculously sticky and attracted the hornets. Wish the tendies were like they were 5 yrs ago.

I came to Jack Astors Kingston with my boyfriend for lunch on Canada day weekend, and had amazing customer service by India. She was in training and did a terrific job! She gave great recommendations regarding drink and food options, as well as was able to help us move to a table with a great view of Kingston City Hall. Can’t wait to go back!

Service was great. We had the rooftop patio with a solid view of historic city hall bldg. Had the Memphis steak and some calamari, both were delicious.

Worst place at all when i booked a table they told me that 2 hrs of wait and I got a massage in an hour and they are not able to put hands on table totally frustrating very bad

Great dinning experience at the rooftop patio, food was tasty and portion size was reasonable for the price.

They were four adults, we had a great time, our food was very good, our waiter and people that served us were wonderful.
We had been sitting in the hot sun we asked to be moved.no problem.
We were told it would be a 40 minute wate, we went to the market, 29 minute later we got the call.
For the first Saturday being opened the staff were in great spirits.

They have a good menu with a decent selection of "pub grub" like meals. The five cheese macaroni is delicious choice as are the fajitas. The service is quick and friendly with a good bar service as well. There is roof top patio available for the summer season.

Kind servers, and a great atmosphere. The food was great as well. Best place to watch a hockey game and chat with friends. 5/5 we would return again.

Food was ok but some of the portions were small and the place is way over priced for what you get. Service was good though.

Bland wings. She took them back and they just added sauce on top. It turned out to be way to spicy hot and could not eat them. Service was mediocre. But the company was amazing:)

Terrible place! Cavernous, has the atmosphere of a tacky pool hall.

It’s not the sort of place to go to if you want to enjoy a meal quietly with friends or family.

The service is horrendous and the climb to the top floor sealed their fate. Never going back to that hole in the wall, literally!

I won't go back to this location. Server heard our table speaking a different language, and thought that we didn't live in Canada. When we were paying our bill, she complained that she didn't get her 15%, and said that because of us, she was paying from her own pocket to serve our table. While we know that is customary to tip the waiter, we did tip her 10%, since the service was not exceptional, she dropped water on our table and she got one of the orders wrong. She had no right to tell us that is mandatory to tip, and make everyone uncomfortable in our table.

Great bar for sporting events. Plenty of tv's. 30 beers on tap. Tried the Ontario Craft beer which was fantastic, and at the same time, you are helping the kids!

Great place to watch a game or enjoy the patio in the summer. Unfortunately it is pricey, which is the only downside.

Just awful food. I can’t even believe the prices they charge for such poor ingredients. The fries are pretty much bad cafeteria fries, frozen and then heated up. The burger buns are ‘made in house’, which says nothing about the quality. $19 salads which are pretty much 90% white lettuce chunks.

Very disappointed with Jack’s Kingston location. We always go to the Toronto’s and Ottawa’s ones and service/food was always good. First, our food took 1 hour to come aftwr ordering and when we asked for any updates after 45 minutes, they said the kitchen was very busy when the restaurant was clearly empty as it was early lunch time. As our food arrived, it was cold (pasta plates) and learned that one of our plates had not been placed. At the end, we left the restaurant after 2 hours late for a tour to which missed and were only able to get the evening one, and one hungry family member. We ate at other local restaurants around that are definetly better for the same price. Don’t waste your time there.

I ordered the strip loin steak and unfortunately did not enjoy the strong spice that was generously sprinkled on it. It was a Cajun type spice with too much fire. Unnecessary and covered up the taste of the meat. I'd recommend that the chef only use salt, pepper and possibly Montréal steak spice. The cut was a little tough and overcooked for the way we ordered it (medium rare)

The rooftop location is absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful misting pipes to cool the place on the hot day, but we did not enjoy fighting off wasps throughout our meal. They need to get and use some wasp traps!

Fish and chips were delish. Wings were also great.

We were there with friends. A table of four - drinks, appetizers and dinner. They ran out of Pan bread and they got my order wrong. They said they would discount the appetizers (because we waited so long for pan bread only to find out they had none) however no discount appeared on the bill for that. I was given 15% off for getting my meal wrong. My fajita bowl was half empty, missing ingredients so they took it back and fixed it. Our waitress seemed inexperienced. She did not know which drinks to recommend and was unsure of what to do.

Long service and cold food. Busy on a saturday night but nonetheless.served wine in a dirty champagne glass and reheated fries.

It is one of the nicest Jack Astor's I have been in Ontario. I like that it has the roof top terrace. The atmosphere is great.
Although, I ordered 10 wings and they only brought me 9 once. I have tried their fish bowl martini, can't even taste any alcohol, so I prefer not to waste nearly $14 on 3 oz alcohol (so they say.), but they have a lot of other nice foods on the menu. Just because these two things do not stop me from going there again. I like their pad thai, surprisingly very tasty. So don't let cooks who may not be able to count chicken wings and non-alcoholic alcohol beverage fool you. Try different dish, enjoy the atmosphere!

I’m sorry but the food was pretty bad because when I was having a salad it was pretty gross it was like it was made years ago and the chicken was not fresh at all. I’m sorry but it was pretty much like that and when we we’re-in a rush the waitress super slow and yes I get it it’s super busy there you can’t get every thing you want. One more thing the waitress wasn’t so good so I would suggest going some where you will felel welcomed to eat and enjoy the food
