Jacobs & Co.stands as the epitome of culinary excellence in Toronto's steakhouse scene. With its impeccable service, elegant ambiance, and a menu that boasts the finest cuts of beef cooked to perfection, Jacobs & Co.easily earns the title of the best steak place in the city. Every visit is a gastronomic journey that leaves a lasting impression of indulgence and delight.
One of the must try places in Toronto. But honestly it’s way over priced and overhyped. But a good place to try different steaks. The Cesar salad used to be really good here but has lost some of its pizaz. Bathrooms could have been a little more cleaner.
Excellent experience for our first time at Jacob's for our anniversary dinner. The care from the team was very pleasant. Our server took the time to explain the menu very well to us. The timing for each course of the meal was great, and we enjoyed the table-side preparation for our salad. The staff made sure to make our anniversary memorable here and we won't forget it!
Been here many times and the service is top notch. The food is excellent and all the servers are extremely knowledgeable. Tableside caesar salad is a must. Last night we had New Year’s Eve dinner and Karan (hope I’m spelling it right) went above and beyond to make the evening memorable. There was a minor issue with the order, he took care of it immediately. He’s always knowledgeable, fun and makes great suggestions. Every time we are taken care of from the minute we enter until the minute we leave. Thanks for another great experience at Jacob’s!
The table-side prepared Caesar salad ($34 for two) was still a hit with enough dressing to adequately cover the lettuce without being saturated. A mouthful of garlicky umami, the splash of Tabasco was perhaps a bit more heavy-handed this visit so there was a noticeable kick to the salad. The bacon was still served in chunks, a bit too hard for me. I wish they'd change this to strips so it’s crunchier… they could even place a strip on top (like the sliver of anchovy) as a garnish. Making the croutons from leftover cheese buns, rather than regular bread, could bring the salad to new heights.
Thankfully, no low-carb vegan diet has influenced Jacobs, their cheese buns still make an appearance. One of the highlights of the meal, it’s really a Yorkshire pudding with cheese, slather on butter and these are perfection.
Remembering how tasty the T-bone steak looked previously, we substituted our typical rib eye order with their Guelph prime Hereford bone-in T-bone ($175), a hefty 25oz (when including the bone) and was more than enough to share amongst two.
While not as marbled as my beloved ribeye, it’s a great cut for contrast as you receive a piece of tenderloin and striploin. Both are leaner cuts: the striploin full-flavoured and tenderloin swoon-worthy as it's soft and juicy. The steak's crust was flawless and the seasoning perfectly. For those who find it needs more salt, complimentary condiments – a bacon blue cheese spread, shoyu, chimichurri, and selection of salts – are available.
Amongst our table of ten, we shared five side dishes, and it was more than enough. Go to Gastro World for the details of the 5 sides.
The standards of this restaurant reach excellence and authenticity. The staff is extremely attentive and food is good. Merci pour l’accueil chaleureux.
Highly recommended, The ribeye, the ceasar salad. Everything. Our waiter, Karan went above and beyond. This became our most favorite restaurant in Toronto. Hands down the best steak.
Overall, amazing dining experience. Top 3 Toronto Steakhouse for sure! Great service, and steaks. We were seated in a really comfortable booth which shouldn’t be overlooked as you’re ars is sitting and eating for 60-75minutes and needs to be comfortable. I’m a fan.
What else can I say, but Wow! Every time I visit Jacobs I am blown away by their delicious food, impeccable service and over all world class professionalism! Bravo indeed! Make no mis-steak its rare to find all these qualities in any restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary (a few days later) in style on NYE. Our hosts graciously brought us to a beautiful booth facing the "meat locker" Our waiter made some great suggestions on the menu and the sommelier was very knowledgeable in suggesting the perfect wine to pair with our food. Dinner was off the charts amazing and each course was brought out in well spaced time intervals. Highlights of the meal: Oysters were fresh and well shucked, the freshly made Caesar with extra anchovies, divine potato gratin, warm brioche style dinner buns with garlic butter were mouthwateringly on point and of course the savoury and succulent (well sliced) tenderloin steak. Icing on the cake was the dessert wine and creme brule that was beautifully adorned on a Happy Anniversary plate! Special shout out to Phillip - the Maitre D', who was so gracious with his time in welcoming us to Jacobs to celebrate our special night. He made us feel extra special by taking amazing photos of us and giving us a nice complement on our attire on the way out! So classy!
Incredible food with incredible service. They treat their guests so well, you’re basically paying for the service. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel special and tended to. We got 3 sides and one ribeye to share and it was all so melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We also had the cheesecake for dessert and we both agreed it was some of the best cheesecake we’ve ever had.
I had read about the experience at this restaurant and none of the reviews do justice to it! From the warm, fresh white cheddar popovers till the small short bread cookie given complimentary at the end of the meal, every bite was absolute perfection! The meat was cooked exactly to our liking, the seasoning was on point and the service was impeccable! They made us feel like royalty and served us accordingly. The halal steak options are second to none and the prices match the overall experience. The sides were heavenly and every morsel of the meat just melted in the mouth! Highly Recommended for an unforgettable culinary adventure!
Just came from Jacobs’s. It’s everything I had hoped it would be, and more. The food was incredible - the steaks beyond anything I’ve tasted before. The fresh bread, amazing. And to top it off, the owner personally wished me for my birthday. I was so shocked by the gesture that I’ve become a permanent fan of this fine establishment.
Jacob’s always hits the mark! We were a group of 12. Service was top notch, and evident in all the small details. Great assortment of cuts from different regions. I really enjoyed the 12oz Ribeye from Headwater Farms Wagyu, it was cooked perfectly. A decent variety of Scotches for a nice after dinner drink. Looking forward to dining here again soon!
