Girlfriend and I both got a #7 and Lo Mein noodles. Everything tasted like it was made 3 days ago, some of the noodles looked microwaved. The general Tao chicken.some one lost the lid to whatever the sauce was and dumped the remainder of it in our containers. Not worth the experience.
Much better than last time we ordered! Delicious this time, everything seemed fresh, the only dislike was that the sweet and sour chicken balls came with the sauce on it, will order it separate next time
Food is always delicious. Forgot my red sauce but made due. Always make sure you are on time otherwise your food sits and gets cold. Tonight's was perfect!
Wow this food is amazing. Incredibly flavourful and really is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! I highly recommend anyone who wants delicious and affordable Chinese food!
Was disgusting. General Tao chicken was something I have never seen before. Soya sauce based sauce. Chicken was fatty and likely thigh meat. Bacon in the fried rice was deep fried. Again. A first. Chop suey was soggy like over cooked spaghetti noodles. The bulk of the chicken and vegetables must have been in someone else’s order because there 3 small slices of chicken. 2 small pieces of broccoli and 4 slices of mushroom. At least that’s what it looked like. Kind of. Spring roll came from Costco. Actually likely not. It would have been better. It came from somewhere Leave it at that Wonton soup wasn’t totally bad. I wouldn’t order seconds. A total disappointment and waste of money. Do yourself a favour. RUN AWAY
Jade Garden used to be our go to but this will be my last visit. The flavour is standard Americanized Chinese food…nothing special. It used to be fantastic but something has changed and now it’s just meh. The spring rolls tastes like previously frozen store brand and the chicken fried rice tasted like greasy day old rice re-fried. The final straw for me was paying $11.50 for the beef and broccoli and having only three small pieces of beef in the order. Just not worth the money any more.
Absolutely disgusted the chop suey was all bean spouts and way over cooked the egg rolls were Chewy and only half full the lemon chicken was mediocre not worth the money spent
Absolutely disappointed with this place. Over the past 10 years their service has become worse, and their food has as well. Always over cooked. Also their judgement in cooking time is TERRIBLE. Don’t tell me 1.5 hours when it’s going to be 2.5 hours waiting in the wet, cold winter. DO BETTER. If you want Chinese: order from Kai’s.
The ole’ Christmas Day Chinese food. Food was ok, your standard run of the mill Chinese food, nothing to write home about. The squid was our favourite however it was soggy rather than crispy.
We've never tried Jade before, so placed an order for 4 set for pickup 3/4 of an hour later at 530. By 6pm it wasn't ready. When we finally ate: - the beef was spongey - all veg was mushy and overcooked - there were 5 (I counted) almonds in our Guy Ding - the fried rice had rice, a bit of chicken, and no sign of egg or veg and was not flavourful - the overall flavour of dishes was mediocre - everything was super super oily This meal cost 80 bucks. I don't mind spending money for tasty food but this was not it. We won't be trying them again.
Tastes like every Canadian-Chinese food I've ever had, it was good. Only thing I noticed here (and was not a fan of) was how they put the red sauce over the chicken balls when theyre in the container instead of putting the sauce in a separate container (this was takeout). This mean't that if you didn't like the red sauce, you can't eat the chicken and if you wanted to eat the leftovers the next day, they may be soggy. Price here was also standard for this type of food. Other then the minor issue, would order from here again.
We placed our order on Christmas eve at 3: 30 and were told that the order would be ready by 445. Here it is 636 and we still wait. 10 min ago we came in from the freezing cold with no clear end in sight. This is absolutely ridiculous and the audacity to ask full price after such a mismanagement is deplorable
Ordered food for Christmas eve at 12: 15 for a pick up at 5: 00.arrived at 5: 00 to find 19 people waiting outside, was told to go in and let them know I was here for my pick up.waited outside in the cold until 7: 25! For a very small order (2 combo plates and chicken balls). Even if they started making it when I got there it shouldn't take that long. When I went in to check on the status of my order he was taking more orders on the phone and saying they would be ready in an hour! He opened up the window and said "lets refrain form cancelling orders please" then charge full price without an apology for the delay. 3 people just bailed and left, and honestly I should have as well. I mean, it's Christmas eve and I want to spend it with my family.the food was good I have to admit.but really!
We got a bunch of dishes for dinner, good portion size, this was enough for 4 people. The sesame chicken and egg foo yung were great. Fried rice was okay. Shanghai noodles was good but a little salty for our taste. Wish there was more beef in the "beef and broccoli. "
Been coming here for years. The food is okay, but it's no longer worth the wait. The wait times have become unreasonable. If they tell you 30 minutes, it'll easily be 45 or longer, 40 minutes is an hour or more. Unfortunately its time to go elsewhere.
I lived in Kingston for most of my life and Jade was always the best restaurant to eat at. Life took me away and I came back with some friends for the weekend and I raved at how good Jade was so we ordered for supper. Then lady on the phone that took our order was extremely rude when placing the order, the prices she told me were different than what was listed online, we ordered extra egg rolls but did not receive them and they claimed that they looked on the camera and it was packed. They offered to give us a credit on our next meal, but we said that we would not be ordering again from Them and we would rather have the order delivered. They kept insisting that the order was correct. The egg rolls that we did get were only half filled. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH JADE THIS TIME AND WILL NOT BE RETURNING! If I coulD not click a start for this experience they would not get the one that I had to give to post this incident.
My preferred location was closed so I tried Jade Garden. The portions were reasonable. The rice tasted overcooked. The batter whenever it was used tasted like sweet bread dough.not tempura. They overcharged on every item. Dinner for 4 is actually $52 not $47 as advertised. They advertise 10% off pickup orders but it seems they add at least 10% to begin. Trying to support local small business but on this occasion maybe wings from Montanna's would have been the better option.
First time ordering. Ordered #1 . Pick up was ready when promised. #1 was delicious & similar to other restaurants. My #7 was alot spicier than I'm used to, so very different than I'm used to. I did eat most of my meal, by takeing most of sauce off. The chicken sauce was missing the sweetness leaving an overpowering hot spice taste. Not a fan Sadly Lesson learned. C.j.
Decent Chinese. With two phone lines sometimes they just don’t answer the phone so have had to go elsewhere but I guess they have enough business and don’t care. Still order there the odd time.
Customer service was quick and pleasant. The young boy was really friendly and polite. Food was also delicious, I had the house fried rice and Dai Dop Woey. The vegetables tasted fresh and flavourful and paired with the house fried rice, I had a great supper. Would come back again!
We order from them all the time but no more We waited an hour then was told it would be another half hour. Half hour later we checked on our order they gave it to someone else
Had a friend that ordered food here at 3PM for a pickup at 5: 30PM. They received a call stating the food would not be ready until 6PM - the food was still not ready by 7: 25 PM. Pretty much a ruined evening because a restaurant didn't make food - go figure.
Amazing food every time! Cannot praise them any more than I already am:) this food is worth every cent. Don’t hesitate buying from here, so delicious 10/10 best Chinese food in Kingston
Ordered takeout for the first time yesterday on recommendation from a friend. They were right! Everything tasted so fresh, sauces were flavourful, meat was tender. A true Five Stars!
First, understand what we are talking about here. It is not a fine dining Chinese food restaurant that you will find in Toronto or Vancouver. This is your classic eat-in/take-out Chinese food place. In its given genre, it is excellent. We do take-out here about one a month and enjoy it every time. It is reasonably priced and there are always leftovers to we get two meals for the price of one.
Too salty. The general tao tasted good, very spicy. The chicken fried rice was ok. Egg rolls overcooked, as well as the chicken balls. Quality of meat used mediocre in my opinion. Still looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Kingston.
Expect an hour to an hour and a half wait to get your order on a busy Friday evening. They don't hurry you out of the restaurant once you get your order, so it all works out OK.
Best Chinese food by far! Love the beef with vegetables and black bean sauce, General Tao chicken and tofu with vegetables! Very fresh. Am a repeat customer for many years.
Always great food, very quick and pleasant service. Great serving sizes always more than I can eat for a good price. I keep going back it's my go to place.
