One of my favourite restaurants! The service and ambience here are always impeccable and the food never disappoints. My husband booked this place on a whim for my birthday party and ever since then, we’ve returned
multiple times. Such a gem of a place. Make sure to order the lamb shanks when available and don’t forget to try their old fashioned cocktail.

Decided to go to the Jazz Bistro to celebrate a special occasion and when we arrived it was obvious that the message we left, with our reservation, was not read.
The entertainment was great but unfortunately the staff is not well trained in hospitality.

Great music and atmosphere. The food was fantastic and our server went out of their way to accommodate us. Great time.

Awesome experience! After previously visiting Jazz Bistro my husband knew he wanted to have his birthday there. We booked his birthday event and we couldn't be any happier with how the night turned out. We went with a preset menu and all of the dishes tasted great. Our guests loved the music and really enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the staff who helped with planning the event. It was really a success. Big thank you to Eren and team who were so kind and such a pleasure to our group that night. Everything went so smoothly thanks to their service. Highly recommend Jazz Bistro for any occasion!

Came for the Jazz, but pleasantly surprised with the classy atmosphere, great food and service

We missed on the stake special the muscles were not good but they didn't charge for it, the lamb rips are good and the atmosphere and music was excellent, I would recommend it

Not a perfect dinner but atmosphere and performance was incredible. We enjoyed try it, you will not regret

Fantastic Jazz bar in the city, great atmosphere! Reservations seem to be a must if you'd like a good table, but the staff work hard to accommodate you in a pinch. Really great music and decent food.

Disgusting menu.nothing to choose from.from first course and main course. Very expensive, does not justify itself at all, not professional musicians. The music is disgusting. I thought it was a warm-up, but it turns out it was a concert. Believe me, I understand music, the rating for this restaurant is zero and the musicians are zero. I advise everyone not to go there.

We came to the Jazz Bistro for a live Jazz band performance, which was very good, we enjoyed the atmosphere very much.
We ordered a board of cheese which contained 3 sorts of basic cheeses, grapes, walnuts, and kreckers.
What disappointed me was the fact that the grapes were rotten and the cheese was too basic.
The cocktails were nice.
Overall, I would recommend the place, although it would be nice to have a better quality of the food there.

My favorite place to dine while in Toronto. Always stop in for a relaxed boujee meal. It's always a blast experiencing local music. They also have great service with yummy drinks.

Exciting band, delicious food and friendly service. To round it out the atmosphere and setting were wonderful. I would return!

Came here for the live performance and I was surprised that they have delicious food as well. I would come here for food only.

Music was, loved the blues band, but dinning experience was a big with the food being overly priced and overly salted. Would return for a cocktail and to enjoy the music, but not for dinner.

A pleasant place to spend a winter evening listening to piano improvisations. There are several details that make this place difficult to forget. The plates are huge and heavy, twice bigger than food on them but the tables are small. The napkins serve at the same time as a wrap for utensils and look funy on the laps.

Great place for live Jazz, the food was a bit pricey for what you get but.who cares when it tastes good and there is live music.

Jazz is back baby! We had the pleasure of attending a private event on the top floor. Such a great space and so nice to have this venue back in operation. Big thanks to the bar for making sure drinks were continuously flowing. The sound was good and the seating perfect for an intimate evening.

An impromptu date night brought us here. We didn't eat, but enjoyed the drinks, which were nicely made classic cocktails and beers on tap. There was a cover charge to watch the band that was conveniently added to our bar tab. The cover charge was expected and fairly reasonable (comparatively). We sat at the bar and the service was friendly. The crowd was super eclectic, which made for very interesting people watching in addition to the music. The layout of the place makes it a bit tough to see the band from some spots (especially if you're seated in some sections upstairs, I suspect), but there are little TV screens so you can get a better look at what's happening during the solos. It was a lovely night and, frankly, I'm just happy to have a choice of jazz bars to check out in the city where I live.

The food was disgusting and they charge each of us for live jazz music but there was not actually live music during the time we were there, so pricey with no quality, not recommended at all.

Was an amazing time! Went on a first date here, the atmosphere was really relaxing, great jazz trio playing while having a nice tasty dinner. Had the rigatoni and it was well done. It was hard to find parking nearby so anyone who needs to park I recommend coming a bit early to find parking. I was also able to use Open Table to book our reservation.

Will definitely come back again one night soon

We came there as a group of 8 friends. The food was good a bit pricey but ok.
The biggest problem was the menager. We asked to pay separately ($700 bill) and the manager said that one person must pay for everyone as they don't have time to give us separate bills. I asked him if he is ok with the fact that this kinda ruining a good overall experience and his answer was "I don't care what people think, i don't care about clients complaints"
Have never had this type of experience. After a very long argue he agreed to give us the bill the way we wanted, it took him literally 5 min to come back with the bills. So why the argue? I won't go there again and do not recommend.

After researching a few live jazz music places, booked a table at the jazz bistro for a friday night. Booking was fairly easy and simple on opentable. They called me just a few hours before for a confirmation. This bistro is nothing but pure magic. If you are reading this review, please do yourself a favour and book a table here. What a wonderful night it was! The musicians were AMAZING. The food is extremely delicious and freshly made too.i am a vegetarian and I dont drink, i had lot of options. Please try the fettucine and thank me later. Service was exceptional! Everyone were so friendly. The negative reviews mostly talk about the cover charge of 20$. I was made aware of this from the time of booking a table. They reminded me atleast 3 times. So dont buy the reviews which state “hidden cover charge”. If you want to support wonderful local artists and a quaint little bistro, do visit this place.

Wonderful ambience, staff very friendly, food was quite good, had the steak, seasoned and cooked perfectly, all in all a very enjoyable meal and experience, sax player is awesome too! Desert was phenomenal

The Jazz Bistro has long been a destination for Jazz fans, and no element disappointed during my last visit. I dined wth an old friend, and three family members. We all ordered differently, according to our tastes, and all of us found our food delicious and well presented. The music that night with the Lorne Lofsky quartet was sublime.

The bread basket was the best part. Tomatoes bad in my salad, the steak was not so tasty. Barely ate my meal and wasn't asked why, so I didn't give feed back then. The music was nice.

Hidden 20$ Cover Charge, very average and highly priced food, rude, dishonest and impolite staff.

This place has nothing todo with jazz culture other than the name.there are a lot of jazz venues in Toronto along with other live music restaurants offering a real dinning experience, this place is not worth your time.

Took my gf out for dinner. We had never been to a jazz club before. The food was excellent and our servers, Safe and Joey, were both helpful, attentive and very kind. Can’t wait to go back!

Located near Ed Mirvish Theatre on Victoria Street and the throbbing Yonge / Dundas square, it transported me back to the 60's and those delightful clubs where talented entertainers complemented your dinner or drinks.

Great view of Vibraphonist David Friedman and his band, even from the 2nd floor! Sound quality was excellent. Enjoyed a delicious steak and frites that were so delicious, no ketchup or sauces were needed. The hostesses were wonderfully helpful; they truly tried their best to find us seating even though they were fully booked.

The dinner, rigatoni, arrived hot and the meat was perfectly cooked. The cocktails were fresh. The wine recommendation was good, but the service was somewhat spotty - excellent at times but sometimes not timely. That said, live music makes a meal!

Wonderful location, never fails to have amazing food and music. You can come by yourself or with others, and regardless you’ll enjoy your time here

The Jazz bistro is a fantastic place for jazz lovers and a hidden gem in Toronto's busy entertainment vibe. They perform both on main level and 3rd floor and have a nice semi open patio upstairs. Going back there after 4 years, the quality of service and food is still outstanding. The performance of the band (Club 350), jamming was astonishing.

4 stars because they host some truly amazing musicians and the space has an great vibe. The staff is attentive, although my beer arrived with foam flowing down the sides and was difficult to drink without getting beer all over myself. We didn't eat dinner, we just ordered the veggie board at 21.00. It features 3 very tasty dips, a few very tiny pickled items - to call them a garnish is flattery - and 6 tiny pieces of grilled bread. The bread is nowhere near enough to finish the dips with so we asked for a bit more, after all when you pay 21.00 for 3 dips, you want to finish them. We were charged 3.00 for the extra bread, we are talking 6 really thin pieces of baguette. Charging people 3 bucks for "extra" bread seems ridiculous on top of our sizeable bill of 140.00 for 2 cover charges, 3 beers, 2 mixed drinks and the hoard. It's a small thing but it stays with you.

We booked through open table and we’re not informed about a cover charge PER person. I even called to ask questions to the restaurant and they did not mention it to me what so ever. It was a recommendation from the Mirvish Theatre and that did not mention cover charges what so ever. It was absolutely ridiculous to charge $15 A PERSON to eat dinner, we had no intention of staying for the show. Apparently paying for dinner, drinks and tips is not enough.

Great place to listen live jazz, great cocktails and cool service. Excellent place for a first date or drinks before crazy nights

Looks great, nice rooftop patio because not opening til after 10 doesn't make much sense on a weekend to me. I'm sure they have their reasons. The fan/heat/ac unit (?) on the patio is very loud and annoying. They should play some background music via speakers out there. At least til the live band comes up to play.
If you're going for live music downstairs then the place is an enjoyable spot. Unfortunately I was only interested in the patio on that evening so my review is a little biased;).

Music and vibes are immaculate. I wanted to give this place a 4 star review instead of a 5 because the food is a little pricey for what you get, but the environment is so rich that I have to give it 5 stars to do this place justice.

20$ cover for person after 8pm. Whether you dine in or not.

I feel it could a been 10$ specially if you come with 4 or 5 ppl go together it's can get pricy.

Getting back to all the positive. Food was awsome yummy. The our server was awsome.

I loved the band they were interactive and funny and they were just amazing.

Lamb was awsome that's what I had.
And pasta was awsome as well.

Didn't have dessert it wasn't great choices at least from my end so I skipped it.

Just to give you heads up if you going there hungry have starter or prepared to have small meal after this meal.

But I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Sooo we went to the Jazz Bistro to celebrate my mothers birthday. The service was impeccable our host for the evening Veronica was amazing and helpful made everything super easy. I just have a couple little issues, the food was good but for the amount you pay not worth it. $20 for 2 pieces of braised beef, 41.99 for rack of lamb that came with 3 pieces not 4 also should have came with somthing like wild rice or something I get the dishes were to be upscale but they should also be filling. We had to pay for bread which is normally free everywhere else. We also paid the entertainment fee which was well worth it, however we we decided to move upstairs for the late night session we were going to be charged again for an entertainment fee. I feel as if we paid once we should have to pay again especially if we will be buying drinks etc. However all in all we enjoyed ourselves the taste of the food was great and again service was amazing.

We dropped into this bistro to kill time before the theatre. The atmosphere was great and the live jazz was a treat. After a long wait my Vesper martini finally arrived but was not so great and then the charcuterie board arrived? First off the lone sausage amongst the food was the tiniest ever but in proportion with the tiny pickles and even smaller pile of meat. I could have put it all on a spoon. At least you could put it on a smaller board to look more. Disappointing.

I came to see some friends play. The wine prices were very reasonable and the service was fantastic. I had the squid salad and a rigatoni. Both were fantastic. I usually ask for salt but didn’t have to as everything was seasoned perfectly. I’d strongly recommend this spot for a sophisticated date night.ps you’re wine chillers are a cool concept but they’re leaky and don’t keep the wine as cold as the classic ones. Cheers lol

An amazing meal. We had between us a salad, scallops, soup, veal rigatoni, & chocolate torte. Fresh food, beautiful presentation. Had us out in time for our show at the Mirvish Theatre across the street. I meant to take pictures but it was so delicious I couldn’t wait!

Our waiter Eren was exceptional; full of life and energy. My burger was cooked to perfection. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and pleasant staff, definitely a triple threat restaurant!

Service wasn't great. Sound wasn't great (vocals were way too low).

Tip option was on top of cover and they didn't warn me. Maybe that's my bad, but I hate giving an extra tip for bad service.

I had to wave down the server to get served at all.

It may have been a slow night, but staff started cleaning while the performance was still going. Kitchen staff was playing loud music during the performance that you could hear every time the door opened (which was often since people were coming in and out while cleaning).

I get it, everyone wants to get home, especially on a slow night, but in my opinion it was so disrespectful to the performers who were great.

I would not come back here unless I specifically wanted to see whoever was performing.

3 stars are for the look and feel of the place. It has a ton of potential, just get some more respectful staff or better supervision.

The food was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere was so relaxed and chill. I went to see the Wild Blue Herons perform and had an absolutely wonderful time. The server was cute too and was so funny and attentive.
