Jeonjuhyang Korean BBQ restaurant

We had good meals here before but things have gone downhill. We always order hot pot. Used to be full of good stuff. Now, they removed most ingredients, it's just powdered soup mix and tons of peppers. I can open a ramen package and put some bell peppers at home, if that's what I wanted. Would cost less than almost $50 too. Last time, we couldn't even eat it, it was so bad. I went up to the counter and asked the server. Where's all the stuff that used to be in there, tofu, dumplings, meat? She said, the owner was there that evening, she asked them to put the minimum amount of ingredients. Maybe they should tell people that they completely changed the recipe when the owner is present.

The side dishes were always hit and miss. They're sometimes good, sometimes you get spoiled kimchi. I think most food is store bought&frozen, so it doesn't taste like fresh made Korean food but it used to be filling, not anymore.

Great venue for a large family. We called to book a table for 8 the same evening and they reserved a spot for us. We ordered lots of dishes and shared them, with staff happy to bring out extra plates, bowls, etc. The food was really good, and there were so many things to choose from. The fried chicken was a particular favourite. Very friendly staff.

Got ubereats here and had the bibimbap which had a long hair. Not sure if they wear any hair nets etc. Food was overall too sweet especially the kimchi.

Having the experience of dining in the Scarborough location, I have to say I’m disappointed at this location. The kimchi and cucumber are under seasoned or not fermented long enough, which is surprising since this is a Korean restaurant. Besides that, the mackerel is burnt. The rest of food is okay nothing stand out.

Pork bone soup is not bad, I would say a little different than what I’m used to. The bbq eel rice was good, nice crispy rice around the stone pot. Portion could be a little bigger.

Super nice people, they tried to contact me regarding running out of rice punch, but unfortunately I was at work/in a meeting and couldn't pick the call up. However, they substituted the drink with something else which was nice of them.

Got takeout from here a few times previously and their food was pretty good, but this time the bulgogi and the kalbi tang were both way too salty, and the kalbi tang is not worth the price of $20. Only 3 pieces of kalbi and a small handful of noodles, disappointing

We frequently visit this restaurant if we are craving Korean food. We always come in for the Dak Galbi for 2 or Dak Galbi Myeon for 2. It's 20% off Monday to Thursday. The total coat comes to around $50. Tasty side dishes. If you want more side dishes, they let you refill three.

The store is new, it has great food and great service, we ordered one tofu soup, one lunch special, and one stir fry rice cake, my husband and I were so full.very satisfied, very yummy, going back again.

Came here for lunch on a holiday Monday. Place wasn't busy at all so we were seated right away. The hostess/waitress was very nice and brought us water once we were seated. Menu is very authentic with a ton of options. The food was good, very traditional tasting. Was kinda slow to come out however and we waited quite long for everything to make it to the table. Seemed like they may have been short staffed. One of our orders was missed entirely but it was ok as we were able to cancel it. Outside of that everything was on point! Definitely would go back as the food was tasty!

A big disappointment of the order of jamjatang. The soup is dilute and the pork bones strong smell. This is the worst I have ever taken in my experience in Korean restaurant. It is pricey.

Pretty good Korean food and a much needed Korean restaurant in East Markham. The menu is pretty varied and the food we've tried has been good. Location is clean and service is attentive.

Nice new clean korean restaraunt in Markham. The staff is friendly and they have a really good selection of different korean dishes. I usually get the porkbone soup and its on par with the Owl. Tasty side dishes come with every meal.

Dinner at Jeonjuhyang on a Saturday was quite busy. I tried both the kimchi stew and the soy bean paste stew. The soy bean paste stew was quite flavourful but the kimchi stew wasn’t as sour as I would’ve liked. There were five different side dishes which they happily refilled for us. The service was quite slow which is why I’d rate it four stars and not five. When the rush cleared out service was much better.

After knowing the chicken and beef are halal, I’d definitively come back many many time:) the food is tasty, and ordering from the web is convenient!

I noticed that this place had great reviews so we decided to give it a try.

The menu was authentic and the taste was delicious.

Wow! What an amazing gem we found to have authentic Korean food in the heart of Markham.

The staff were attentive the manager/owner was humble and appreciative and very appreciative.

I will be returning here again and again for authentic and traditional Korean cuisine!

It is one friendly neighborhood eatery. The food was ok, things are toward a lighter taste compared to other Korean restaurants I have been to.

First time going there. Very friendly staff, I like restaurants that are not too big and not so noisy. Like my spicy tofu soup, other dishes we ordered were very good too. I will definitely go back there again and try other dishes. Reasonable prices
