Jerk King

Been coming here for years. Ownership changed, they seem to have franchised, and the new recipes have gone absolutely downhill. If you’re thinking of getting their new Pattie’s (old used to be AZING), just save your money and eat an orange brick - it’ll be tastier, I promise. Slaw used to be great and now it’s gross, watery, and never fresh. On top of all this they raised prices and made portions much smaller.

Food here is good customer service is not the greatest. The girl isnt payment attention to her customers by serving people that came in after me and random customers causing a kaos in the restaurant we were waiting for 20 mins to be served due to alot if customers and not much of a seating area!

The oxtail is extremely good but don't sleep in their desserts. Not where you expect to get there best flan in the neighbourhood, but here we are.

Also the only coleslaw I actually enjoy.

Can’t lie, I found a hair in my rice and peas on the second bite into my small jerk chicken meal. Gross still

You need a good bite? Late night, or really any time of day. You'll leave happy. My preference is any of their Roti. Folks adore it all. Check the menu for goodness!

Price and size plus unbelievable jerk chicken or ox tail.it's a no brainer!

This used to be a great spot to get food but the service has consistently diminished. These are three of the most miserable women you'll encounter in the service industry. Particularly the short hair asian women is terrible. Message to management: If you don't like people, get out of this business. You and your staff are rude and impatient. You've had up to 5 customers beckoning to you for service while all of you convene in the back and resurface without an apology and annoyance after keeping THEM waiting. I have had one blatantly ignore me after I asked about the plate being put together for me. I hadn't been there in months and went back last night only to be greeted by the same lack of professionalism. You're in a prime location and have a horrible attitude. With any luck your customer loyalty will erode and a more deserving establishment will emerge. Disappointing

I bought jerk chicken & BBQ mixed with spicy sauce after my work. So Yummy! Service was quick & the two staffs are super friendly. They generously gave me enough portion of the rice I asked for.will drop in again by this Friday after work.

I go to the location near Dufferin station, it is a pickup only place. The girl who takes and prepares your order is very friendly and polite. There are several Jamaican jerf chicken places in the city but honestly, nothing is as nearly as good as Jerk King, this is the juiciest, tastiest jerk chicken you will ever taste. The race and beans is delicious too and not to mentheir coleslaw! Fresh, tasty, perfect.

Regarding size choices, I recommend to go for the large one, it's the best value for your money, if it's for two people one large and one small would be fine.

Jerk chicken rice was great. Service was fast and good. No seating inside. It’s also open until 4am.

Had to run a few errands in the area and decided try the jerk chicken here. This meal was very filling and had a large portion enough for 2. We were given three pieces of chicken that were cooked very well and seasoned generously. It was very flavourful and savoury. The spicy sauce was a great addition to the meal. The beans were a little bit on the more soggier side which many people may or may not prefer. The coleslaw was also really good, but not enough for the meal, so I’d recommend to purchase extra. It’s wonderful that the place is open till 4 am which is great if anyone is craving a midnight meal. Will definitely have again if I’m in the area. Overall I’d give this place an 8.4/10.

Staff is friendly and there's always a lineup outside. Patties are the best I tried in the area. Strongly recommended

Absolute trash and waste of money these people can't be Jamaican. Had a small jerk chicken with "spicy sauce" and a dumpling.the seasoning was overwhelming and didn't taste right the dumpling was too soft and had a weird after taste. COMPLETELY INEDIBLE I don't know whose writing these good reviews.lies! This has to be the worst Caribbean place I've been too in all of Toronto. Nothing worse than being hungry and go waste your money on food you can't even eat.these people cant cook.period.

This is more of a "pick up and go" place than a dine in. Their food tastes great! I just wish they'd not use Styrofoam containers but something more environmentally sustainable.

I buy jerk chicken at least once a week from this place. But it’s literally a win or lose. Sometimes it’s fresh and tasty. Sometimes it’s all saggy, hard to chew and tasteless, like today. I don’t know what day or time I should go there so I can get the fresh food instead of trash.

Great tasting food and great value for money. By far the best Caribbean food dishes in Toronto.

One of the best take-out experiences I've ever had! For $20 (including tip) I had enough to last me 3-4 meals in the fridge.

On my way to Dufferin station, the idea of picking up some bland A&W on the way home was just too depressing, so I looked up what other places were in the area. I was thrilled to see a Caribbean restaurant pop up, and when I saw the line outside, it just made me more excited to try their food. The line moved quickly, and once inside it was easy to order even from behind glass and while wearing a mask.

I was asked what kind of sauce I wanted, and replied "SPICY! " with so much excitement that I think the woman preparing my order might have given me some extra chicken just for the enthusiasm. Because MAN do they ever give you bang for your buck here! I have never seen so much delicious food crammed into what looked at first like a smallish Styrofoam container.

When it was my turn to pay, I joked to her that she was going to put those two franchises across the street (Popeyes and A&W) out of business. She laughed and said they always have a line, but it's still a challenge to compete with the resources of a big chain. I made sure to ask if there was a tip option since she'd truly STACKED my order with more chicken and rice than I was expecting. But I can't share the cute little moment that made me go home smiling because then all y'all will want the same.just be good to the princesses of Jerk King and they'll be good to you.

Now that I know this place is here, I'm never going to settle for a depression-order of A&W or Popeyes, both of which taste like they've been frozen six months while Jerk King is fresh, delicious, and generous. It's worth the quick wait in the line! Support the hell out of them and make sure to ask for the tip option, because their prices are so reasonable for the amount and quality you get.

They cancled my skip order. Even though the place was closing in one hour. I guess there was no more food for the night.

Food is great along with the juices but for some items like the wrap the price has nearly tripled over the past 5 or so years. Still worth trying!

Jerk King has a special place in my heart (and stomach). There's always a huge line-up for a reason. You cannot go wrong with an order of jerk chicken with rice and peas, spicy gravy, and a patty or plantains on the side. Service is super quick and efficient.

I come here regularly for my lunch/dinner and it's never a bad time plus the food is great. The servers are nice too, especially Casey & MJ who are very friendly and, make the place more lively. Definitely would recommend.

Flamy, Mj, and Casey are amazing, stellar, employees! They also make my night when I walk tired and hungry… Anytime you come here and they’re here, you’ll always get great service!

We make sure we pick up a big order every time we visit from Hamilton. Nothing local stacks up.

We had two meat eaters and one vegetarian in our party. The meat eaters thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of the jerk chicken roti however felt that the chunks of potatoes were too large and too much in quantity (see picture as everyone took their leftover chunks out and placed them in a single container). The vegetarian in the group basically received an entire roti with these giant potato chunks with a very small amount of chickpeas and spinach. I do not recommend this place for vegetarians at all as you will be eating a meal of potatoes that you won’t be able to eat much of because of its larger size. Overall this was not suitable for us for a family dinner as the vegetarians had little to eat other than potatoes, however the meat eaters will likely order again.

Very juicy even at 4am in the morning lol. One downside is recently the jerk chicken gotten much much more spicier which I had to throw mine away. Hope they lower the spice level a bit.

Had a large jerk chicken (bone-in) with rice/peas plus oxtail gravy. Staff very friendly and courteous, portion size was very generous, price was decent. The food tasted terrific, and I had a hard time deciding between a 3 and 4 star review. The issue being that the jerk chicken didn't taste like jerk chicken! It was delicious, but the only way I could describe it would be a fusion of a sweetened chicken cacciatore and medium spice curried chicken.

I couldn't be more disappointed with this restaurant. It used to be my favorite place to get authentic Jamaican food. However, after it changed owners the quality decreased to the lowest point ever. The customer service is scary, loud and extremely rude.

No longer sell medium boneless jerk, only large. So you have to pay $18 if you want any. Such a scam. There’s no reason not to sell a smaller portion except to force you to pay more money. Will not be returning.

This guy is the worst guy to even have your food delivered the food quality is garbage this guy's a hot head he almost ran somebody over in front of the restaurant and try to fight him he's bad news and he supposedly the owner everyone don't go to this place it's a very bad ownership

I always seen a huge line up here and wanted to get myself one of their bestsellers. After having their fried chicken with rice and beans, I know understand why they are a crowd puller. The food was yumm and good portion!

Great chicken and pattys. Their spicy is pretty spicy and I like to think I can handle spicy food.

Frigg Holly hands down best place for that jerk chicken and dumpling, but who don't like coleslaw donno the way ur body needs and thanks you for it.

Undoubtedly good food. Filling and legit. Decent pricing for the most part. But not the place I'd suggest for authentically Jamaican food.

Jerk King is Toronto's real deal Roti / Jerk / Caribbean chain restaurant. There is often a line up at this place because this is it. Known for its Jerk. But the Curry Chicken is worth it too.

Delicious, affordable Jamaican cuisine for those in a hurry. Make sure to get the oxtail gravy on your jerk chicken omg so good.

Service is always top notch. Food is always excellent. Would usually go there after work on Saturdays, but been still closed. Hopefully open again soon to make it my Saturday night ritual again

Excellent coleslaw, it’s the perfect sweet/creamy side to get with spicy dishes. The patties have some kick to them which I love though the dough could be better if it was flakey, still 5 stars for flavour though. I also would recommend the rice and peas and definitely try the Ting soda, yum!

Being open til 4am is the best idea y’all could have cause everything be fresh at any time. Food always fresh & hot, spicy and flavourful, perfect size

Being open late night is always a blessing on top of the good food and kind customer service and now they got juices too that's awesome.

Courteous friendly service and the food is freshly prepared and is very Delicious! I picked up a Large Jerk Chicken (bone-in) with Rice, beans and Coleslaw, and yummy gravy on top. The portions are generously Big, and the prices are reasonable! The friendly counter lady was nice enough to let me sample the fried plantains as it was my first time there, and let me tell you, it’s YUMMY! Great food and friendly Staff! My taste buds are Thanking me today! Will definitely be back for more!

Extremely badly served by a really unpleasant lady. Large chicken combo with 4 pieces of chicken (2drumstick) when everywhere in the city it’s 6 PCs.and the quality of the food definitely not worth 13$ for that. Never again.

Whenever I'm in the city, this is always on the list of places to stop! Can't go wrong with a large jerk chicken but I get 2 pieces jerk and 2 pieces fried with some amazing oxtail spicy gravy and a side of awesome creamy coleslaw! Keep doing what you guys have been doing for years

Delicious and tender who absolutely can’t pass up on this late night REAL JERK CHICKEN The portions are good, prices great and extremely friendly and accommodating women who run the place. Spivey the way real jerk chicken is suppose to be or they have mild as well if you don’t like it so spicey but I definitely recommend this amazing little restaurant and would give it more stars if I could? ️

The young servers are amazing. Kind and smiling. The older ones have attitudes, particularly towards to adult blackmen. The food is ok could be better. The place needs a new design and renovation. Keep away the older women behind the counter in the kitchen.

This place is open late, which is great. It was one of the only things still serving on Uber Eats on nights where I would've done anything just to eat something. What sweet salvation is was to have someone deliver this in the wee hours of the morning. I can't tell if it was actually 5-star food or if I was just hungry.

Nice, tasty food and service. Not exactly jerk, but tasty the same with other varieties of Caribbean cuisine. Support its sister juice shop next door as well.

One of my favourite jerk chicken spots in all of the world! And I say that as someone who lived in Jamaica. I love the flavour and spice level. Amazing price as well!

So glad to have found this gem while visiting Toronto. Seriously the best chicken I have ever eaten. So moist and flavourful, very generous portions and a sauce to die for. Roasted squash was great too. You cant beat the price value here either. Plain and simple order at the counter. Sit in or take out. Honestly much more impressive than some $45 restaurant entrees. I am sorry but the food is not a taste of jamacia. The rice is not traditional. I am going put it down too customers are from the City and I question if they have tried the real traditional jamaican restaurants. Like the Queens Delight on jane street. Albert's on Vaughan and St clear. I threw my rice in the garbage.it just did not have that nice jamacian flavor. Looks like the owners are not Caribbean and in this case get rid of the impersonated recipe's. And let the carribean staff cook it from scratch.

Good food good flavour staff look Caribbean so the food is probably being made by someone who as background in this type of cooking which doesn't always mean it’s going to be good. But as an Italian I would rather have an Italian cooking my food then someone who wasn’t. Highly recommend this place good prices to.

It's aiiit.they make home made patty's, fried chicken is nice and crispy.but now the best quality overall. If your hungry for late night West Indian this is your spot!

Have only tried the jerk chicken but was quite good (sort of half BBQ sauce/half jerk). Probably the largest serving of chicken of any Jamaican place I've been to. Coleslaw/rice and peas really good too.

The jerk chicken wrap has been great, both taste and portions. Small hole in the wall with limited seating and quick service.

Went late at night, the staff very nice especially the Angel.she treated everyone with respect n friendly.food is tasty.

Bought the ox tail with rice and beans it was horrible. It was salty and meat tasted bad would not reccomend! My go to spot is Pat's homestyle jamaican Restaurant try their ox tail and you will know the difference.

Despite the slow service this place used to have good food. In the last month they've done something different with the patty recipe. They are denser, thick salty paste, and overall gross. 2 separate occasions and same result. Disappointing.

By far the best jerk chicken I'm the city. So spicy and good. Also the coleslaw my god beyond amazing. Hands down the best in the city!

This is one of my favourite spots. Their boneless jerk chicken is amazing, especially as a roti. The only thing I am wondering about is, they recently changed their patties. They used to have the best patties in the city, and now they're not quite the same. What happened?
