WOW! What an excellent experience we just had dealing with this company. JL’s Tree Service came to remove a huge, hazardous tree overhanging our house and hydro lines. Joe brought his team and his fleet of top of the line tree removal equipment. He has a custom built Western Star truck with a massive Palfinger crane fitted with a grapple saw cutting head which was able to reach 70’ across our yard to grab, cut, and lower sections of tree safely to the ground away from both house and lines. One of his team was also up in a large lift with a chainsaw to cut larger trunk sections while he safely held the trunk with the grapple. The rest of his team was on the ground clearing brush and limbs with a chipper and truck as the sections came down.
They were all wearing helmets equipped with voice communications and were in constant contact with each other during the process. This kept them all aware and safe while working. I have never seen an more organized and efficient group working together. What would have taken days to take down using climbing gear was completed in just over two and a half hours!
They then cleaned up all limbs and trunks with a small loader then raked and blew all small debris away. Looks like a freshly vacuumed carpet out there.
I highly recommend JL’s Tree Service for their professionalism, safety, speed and attention to detail. They showed up with the best equipment available and when you couple the right people with the best equipment you get excellent results.

We had a number of large ash trees in close proximity to our home. They had sucumbed to Ash Borer Disease and had become a serious concern. The professionalism and work ethic this company displayed while doing the work was nothing short of incredible. JL's was a pleasure to work with and the passion, enthusiasm and commitment they demonstrated was second to none. We would not hesitate to recommend them or to have them return in the future.

We are very happy with the work which two of JL's team accomplished in our back yard. They arrived on time, listened to our to our concerns and set about implementing them. They also had a number of good suggestions. The result is the property looks great with a lot more light. They also did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards. We would recommend them to you.

In every way this company provided exceptional customer service and technical proficiency when it was most needed to remove an especially large and difficult to access tree. They also offered the most competitive quote amongst five comparable and highly reputable companies. Our 200 year old willow was about to fall over. It was located at the bottom of a steep hill, far from any road access, and stretched into neighbours' yards on both sides of our property. After carefully examining the situation, JL took the time to meet with the neighbours, address their concerns, and secure permission to access their properties (which was especially challenging since one neighbour was a townhouse complex/condo board). He made time on the weekend to sort this all out and got the job done with a short turnaround time. He's an excellent communicator, who answered all of my questions clearly and promptly and helped manage my concerns about cost, risk, impact on the yard, animal wellbeing, etc. The crew was professional and personable, and their expert handling of the tree and their equipment meant that the work got done in one short day, without any damage to the surrounding gardens or the shed or fence underneath the tree. They even made the extra effort to relocate the swing set and a ninja line for us, and to tidy up the yard afterward. We are relieved and grateful customers!

Five stars isn't enough! I highly recommend working with Joe and his team. From the first point of contact to the finished job, Joe's attention to detail and professionalism really shows! The team just removed a dead ash tree from my yard and I wanted to keep a bit for firewood, which they thoughtfully cut and stacked for me. The clean up was better than expected. These guys really know what they are doing. Joe even took the time to discuss concerns I had regarding some other trees, and I appreciate now having peace of mind. I have used JLs several times over the years for both storm damage and for trimming. I am always very satisfied with what they do.

Are they the cheapest? I honestly wouldnt know - I wouldnt think to call anyone else to even ask.

I haven’t had much personal relationships with the crew, but I know the owner and I’ve seen these guys in action. The crew did an exceptional job from start to cleanup. Included in this work were two 40ft + ash trees behind the house that were cut and removed with the large crane, along with many other trees on the property that were taken down. A very professional job from a very professional crew. I couldn’t believe the amount of work they did in one day. This is the second time I have used JL’s Tree Service and strongly recommend them. And they’re really nice guys too!

From our first appointment with Joe, he was at our house right on time (as scheduled), was kind, polite, informative and was happy to share his knowledge. He recommended what trees should be cut and what was okay to leave. When the crew came, they were one of the most efficient teams and so well coordinated. The clean up after the removal was amazing as well. I would gladly use them again and have nothing but good things to say!

We had a full day with Joe and his crew. They removed a few dozen dead ash trees, some quite large using both the crane and lift and were able to do so without damaging the remaining healthy trees or the lawn. We kept some firewood for ourselves but most of the trees were fully chipped into mulch. Everything was well cleaned up after. Very pleased with their service and highly recommend his team. I cannot speak highly enough of the service from this company! From the contact point, right through to the completion of the job, everyone has been very responsive, efficient, and wonderful to deal with. The skill with which Joe and his entire crew manoeuvred "Xcalibur" (The Remote Control Tree Remover) was astonishing! They were able to negotiate a very tight alley space, and safely and quickly remove a very large storm-damaged maple from a very difficult location. It's clear that everyone on the crew has a true passion for what they're doing, and take great pride in their work - and they are fun as well! A+ experience for this customer!

We contacted JL’s Tree Service after storm damage to some large maples. They were quick to respond, assess what needed to be done and complete the work. The crew for JL's tree service came in got set up, each person knew what was going on at all times. They were fast, friendly, respectful while upholding all safety aspects of the job. Joe and his crew did an incredible job cleaning up after the storm we had in Elora a couple of weeks ago. One of the trees he took down for me was a dead ash. I was worried about this one because a couple of the largest branches were hanging directly over my neighbour's oak equestrian fencing. Traditional removal would have definitely destroyed a good portion of the fence but with the grapplesaw truck each branch could be picked off without ever hitting the ground (or the fence!). Unfortunately we were out of town at the time but the video Joe shot was amazing! The grapplesaw truck is an absolute game changer in terms of efficiency and safety. Great customer service, very responsive, helpful and friendly. Crew was friendly and professional. In addition to tree they also removed some shrubs. Did a great job and left the space very clean and tidy. Would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.

This is a little bit late, but Jl's Tree Service definitely deserves a good review. We hired them near the beginning of May to trim our large maple trees in the backyard. They did an amazing job! Joe and his team arrived on time for the job. They have excellent customer service and a very good eye for spotting a few more dead branches that we didn't see. They also removed a small maple tree and stump that we didn't want in the yard. Also, they made sure they left no mess in the back and out front before going home. They also got back to me quickly by e-mail, if I had any questions. I would definitely hire these guys again for future work and recommend them to anybody that needs any tree work done.

We called JL’s Tree Service right after a storm and a tree was split at one of our rental properties. Joe and his team were quick to respond and deal with the tree. They are by far the best tree service company we have ever used and they are the only one we will call in the future.

Joe came personally to provide a service quote to trim a old nasty honey locust tree. He listened to our concerns and provided welcome advice on how to proceed. On the scheduled date, the crew arrived promptly and worked efficiently and professionally on the job. They were very respectful and personable while involving us in the process. This company is awesome! They emailed with me after hours to try to help me work with a tight deadline. The crew worked in the rain and were so upbeat and smiling through it all. Had me walk through job afterwards to ensure all was ok and I can’t thank them enough. If not for their help I would have had to cancel my fence install until spring. What an amazing group of people. Thank goodness for companies like this. They are all very passionate about helping and doing the best they can!

Very professional explained everything that needed to done. Came to remove the stump and took away the rest of the logs. Responded to my quote request quickly and the work was done soon after. They were helpful but not pushy. Very happy with the work done

Joe and his team were fantastic. Every crew member was polite and professional. They were pleasant to have on the property and left the worksite clean and better than expected. A people person who came to save the day in the middle of the night and in the pouring rain he came to help get our cat down out of a tree.
