We had a wonderful evening with our family at joey’s. The service was extremely good. The drinks creative and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the joey classic steak was as almost inedible. It was the sirloin, but was extremely tough (although cooked medium rare). I would not have expected this from a restaurant that portrays itself, in part, as a steak house, let alone for $40. I did not raise with the manager, as we were having a good time with daughters and I did not want to create a fuss. It I would not order a steak again. Stick to simpler fusion dishes that are harder to screw up.

Lunch is great time to visit, if you really wanna enjoy meal and talking to your friends. Not that busy so food comes fast, and get a table right away.
Filet Mignon is always on the first list.

We were a group of five on New Year’s Eve that have enjoyed dining at Joey Lansdowne multiple times previously, however, this experience was very unsatisfactory and disappointing. No complaints about our server - Joshua was very kind and apologetic about our experience and was a great server. We ordered three striploins and one fillet mignon - all arrived after over 45 minutes and completely cold which was disappointing for the large upcharge we’d paid for the steaks. We ordered three desserts hoping they’d improve our experience, but after thirty minutes of waiting for them we decided to cancel them; at this point we’d reached the two hour maximum seating time and didn’t wish to stay any longer. Overall, the food was incredibly delayed and unsatisfactory (except the delicious gyoza), probably won’t come again because of the experience.

I’m a regular at joeys Rideau and Lansdowne, I have to say last night my experience with the hostess was terrible. When we decide to come and spend a lot of money at joeys we expect decent customer service at the bare minimum. Me and my partner were scornfully treated by the hostess, it happened about 8: 00 - 8.06 pm last night.

The hostess didn’t even great us (lack basic customer service) she looked like she hated working there. She told us there will be a 20 minute waiting line but she serve people that came after us. I know this because we were siting at the waiting area and a could hear conversations then went we went up to asked about it she said she called us 3 times which was a lie. She took down the wrong number intentionally, she could clearly see us siting right there and never bother calling us. She even rolled her eyes.

I’ve never been treated so rudely by staff at joeys before. Management should do something about it.

The food n drinks was great. But I expect management to do something about that particular hostess if I were to go there again especially when we’re paying slightly higher than an average restaurant.

At least the staff and hostess at joeys Rideau knows how to treat customers

Ok appetizers. Fried cauliflowers were like general Tao chicken …. Crunchy with a lot of batter.
Spicy hot wings were nice but smallest wings I have had ever….

Came here on a whim with my friends for my birthday. It was so fun to be taken care of by Tyler M! She ensured everyone had their drinks and food in a timely manner while having such a fun energy to be around. I think everyone can have a lovely time here

Birthday meal gone awry. Packing clients into a crowded loud space, given two hours only to enjoy a meal with friends, with a great sense of being rushed by unsmiling waiters is not enjoyable! My yellowfin tuna salad had five little pieces of tuna and a salad completely lacking salad dressing. I requested salad dressing, but the waiter never returned during the whole meal with dressing. What used to be a good restaurant now serves half the portions at twice the price and with half the service. Very disappointing indeed.

The food here is really awesome. The wait staff are not so great. I mean they're nice to me but focus was on them socializing with each other so much that it was hard to grt service. This has happened a few times there.
Nice atmosphere otherwise

Visiting Ottawa and was in the area. Joey’s looked very nice and popular. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent! The Ribeye steak is highly recommended! Kat provided us with excellent service! Thanks for a wonderful experience.

The staff is super nice, the food & drinks are really good too. Special thank you to the staff for writing a custom message on our desert plate for a birthday, the attention was very appreciated.

Went there for my wife's birthday. Great place with delicious food. Food portion is a little less but I would still give 5 stars for the taste and restaurant ambience. Special shoutout to the choco lava cake.

Our 8 year old's favourite restaurant! He loves to get buttered noodles and sliders. They are always very kind and welcoming.

My wife and I chose Joey Lansdowne as the venue for her birthday dinner. We had reservations for 630pm. I'm giving four stars because they did manage to come back from the brink of what was turning out to be a rough visit to a restaurant we know has a better service record. The bad stuff, took 20 mins to even get to see a server.ordered drinks that took another 7mins.coke flat, wine I asked for not in stock, settled for a different one. We ordered appetizer and mains at once.expecting the appi first.all the food showed up at once.so now we're more than a little frustrated. The servers quickly realized what was happening, took the mains back and said would reorder when we were ready. Finally got side plates for appetizer. Servers started to check in much more frequently, mains resurfaced hot and ready. Food was all very very good. They decided to bring us a complementary desert (the italian donuts) Bonus.all of a sudden we are smiling and reminding ourselves that they figured out it was going sideways and needed to fix it. So well done! We know its not easy and appreciated the extra effort near the end. Thank you!

I was here the Wednesday evening. Staff were very friendly, food was delicious. The covid precautions are really well executed here.

One of my favourite restaurants so far in Ottawa, it was our third time visiting Joeys (second time at this location) and my husband and I had a great dining experience. Our server Steffi was beyond expectations and made our night extremely special. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and helped us find something new and yummy to try. Overall a great night, we will definitely be back soon!

Nice atmosphere, good food and attentive staff. We had lunch there for the first time and was suitably impressed. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was fresh. The plexiglass dividers at each table created a feeling of being bubbled off from the rest of the diners. We would return.

Food was great but quality and taste have been declining recently and head chef is rude and uppity

JOEY, c'est la place hype en ville! On y mange très bien, le service est courtois, on voit les chefs en action et les prix sont abordables. De plus, l'ambiance varie entre chic et cozy, je le recommande.

Great restaurant but cheap on the portion size. I even ordered extra fries and between the The fries that come with my $20 burger and the side of fries for $5, it was barely enough to fit two hand fulls. The burgers are still good but for some reason they are cheap on the fries and they aren’t even expensive! Not sure why they got cheap during the pandemic but it’s pretty disappointing. Probably won’t order from here again because the price has gone up in the portion size has gone down.

Our server Kenneady was so lovely we have such a great experience at Joey. Highly recommend the sushi rolls.

Slow service. Don’t expect to be served when you get seated. Noticed other tables were seated but not being served. We got served to place our order 30 minutes after being seated. Ok if you want to visit and can afford to wait 30 minutes to get a drink. Reg

I went a few days ago for lunch. My server Rhianna 10/10, very nice and very helpful. Truffle fries 10/10. Caesar 8/10. Thank you for a great experience!

Joey is so good! Great location and everything I've tried has been super delicious. Definitely try the sushi rolls app yum. Great atmosphere, nice friendly staff, speedy service and a good menu. Classy joint for a dinner date, drinks, or a nice meal with family and friends. Cheers to Joey!

This is a nice place to go, either on the patio, or sitting indoors, well set up to meet or exceed COVID protocols inside. The food is very good, a little upscale and very, very good.

Wow! Service was amazing. Food was ok for the price:) pop had too much ice and very little pop in them. It dilutes the pop too much.

But! Yes, I am going back!

I like the Joey restaurants. I’ve eaten at several locations in the past. This time was a disaster.

My wife and I went to Joey Lansdowne in Ottawa on Aug 21st. They weren’t taking reservations so we got there at 5: 15 at put our name on the waitlist. They said 30-45 minutes. There was a long line and they continued to take names for the waiting list - lots of names.

After 45 minutes I enquired about how much longer to wait. They said there was still 6 names ahead of mine — even AFTER 45 minutes.

Then after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes I checked again on the wait and they said they already called my phone with no answer. WRONG - no call - no text - nothing. I was waiting right in front the whole time - I never left.

This is just wrong. Their management is a mess. If the wait is an hour - or two hours tell people so they can decide and not waste their time. When I left they were still sitting people and telling them 45 minutes for the wait. That was just a lie - they took 30-40 groups on their waiting list and it took me more than 90 minutes with only 10-12 names ahead of me when I arrived there. That means a 2 - 3 hour wait.

Wake up and stop ruining the dining experience by disrespecting your patrons and wasting their time.

One of the best patios in the neighbourhood - great for people watching. The food is good, and you always know you'll get the same quality. My favourite are the chicken lettuce wraps!

The service was good but being limited to 1.5 hrs on the patio was a bummer. And to boot, we were given a countdown at 30 mins then 15 mins - ridiculous. Couldn't order a bottle of wine bc we only had 15 mins left at our table. So we went to Milestones and it was awesome, we were able to enjoy our evening on their patio w/o any pressure.

I had an amazing experience with a young man named liam when i went to this location. He was incredible and had such a lovely personality. He greeted us and engaged in conversation was extremely funny and made our family feel right at home. He was extremely professional as well. Thank you liam for the amazing experience that you gave us!

Never been a restaurant like this one before which serve you depending on their emotions. Food rating is 5 out of 10. Serves is 0 out of 10. Anything we ordered was missing something and took forever for the food to come. The waiter unprofessional and well go around to different tables talking about your order which the people across from us told us as we leaving the patio lol. He actually told them what we order making fun of it lool anyways worst experience.

Very nice to see things opening up and people getting out to support. Another great meal. Was in line before Red Blacks game at 4pm. We had our table and food before 5pm. Couple of Old Fashioned’s were ok. Need a better selection of bourbon. Joeys is really working hard to get the kinks out. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We waited on the waitlist for more than 2 hours before going back in to find out that they "gave us a call quite some time ago". It was brushed off as a phone number input error even though I got the automated text message from them when I was placed on the waitlist. I also had service the entire time. Guess they just never called.

The food was fine (although portions are small and I was quite hungry after waiting for so long), service was friendly, but the experience was ruined by the time we actually sat down inside. Overall not worth the wait. Plenty of other good choices just a walk away.

The location is great and the sercice as well. I could not beleive how expensive it was. A glass of wine was $19.75 plus taxes and tip and it was very poor quality.tasted really bad. I ordered chicken on my salad for an extra $6.00. I had 6 (one inche) pieces of very very thin chiken with the skin on.not inpressed.

Hoping it was a just a bad night as we have had great service and food pre covid here. I'm guessing the combination of hiring new staff now that things are open again along with filling the place overwhelmed staff. Waited 20 mins plus for drinks every time an order was made. Food was cold. Certain parts of the meal or even cutlery, we had to remind staff we required. I'm very patient and have worked in this industry in the past but for what you pay here, I hope they get back to what they formerly were capable of. Till then I'd avoid. Sorry. Just being honest.

Everything was perfect, we had veggie burger and chicken parmesan. The veggie burger taste was totally different from what we've ever had. The chicken parmesan was good.

I work here. I feel that the food we put out is amazing. I would absolutely eat here. Or even drink here.

Not constant had them before and loved it had them again and it was a total different experience. Order the same items and the second time it was not worth the money or the drive to get it.

The restaurant definitely needs an extra 1-2 waiters/waitresses. I feel like even with the wait, something simple like clearing a table took over 20 min. So if I was waiting 45 for a seat, I had to wait an additional 20 just for that. I thank the ones who did their best to get it done as quickly as possible, but management should definitely consider hiring more on days it’s extra busy!

Great place, amazing food, the service was awesome. Try the Korean cauliflower app and enjoy some of the best steak you'll ever have.

Love this place! Always have great service at this location, both for dining at the restaurant or for take out! Definitely try to go at Happy Hour as a huge portion of their menu is discounted. Great food and drinks and great environment!

Waited over 30 minutes for uber pick up, nobody cares. Atlrast they were nice, when there was no dine in. Lol. So many hosts looking at uber drivers, never come to curb side pick up area. Don't give respect, but please don't disrespect, we were there, when difficult time for restaurants. Hope you guys will treat delivery drivers like when there was no dine in. Still waiting somebody to attend curb side pick up, let see.

Joey Lansdowne is one of those iconic upscale pubs! They are located in a happening spot of Ottawa and are usually packed!

Pros:
Loved their presentation and the ambience is just great!
Ample seating area and the music just goes so well with the vibe!
Food here is definitely good with a vide variety of options to choose from!

Cons:
They are a bit pricey considering the portion size. It’s not bad, but it just feels like they hold back just that little bit!

Recommendations:
Drinks- Spicy Passionfruit Margaritas, Elderflower Colins and Leading Lasy.

Food- Korean Fried Cauliflower, Sushi Cone, Katsura Peanut Chicken Salad and Japanese Gyoza.

They have ample parking here, but sure if they validate the parking tickets though!

It’s very good food for dine in but their takeout is pretty poor. I won’t rate the takeout as I don’t think it’s meant to be a takeout restaurant if it wasn’t for covid. Overall, visit the patio and avoid the takeout as the latter does not do it justice.

My most recent experience at Joey Landsdowne was wonderful! Sabrina was an exceptional hostess! Wonderful drinks and tasty food, definitely a fun night!

We came to this restaurant thinking we'd have a great time. We were well dressed for the occasion, and when we arrived to the receptionist we could see an open area full of greenery and open tables with only one family of four on the patio. Then PWC came and told the waitress that he was going to guide us to our table, However when he did we were brought to the almost closed part of the patio that were covered in black tarps and brought us to the last table at the end of the opposite side of the patio where the others were. At first we believe that maybe they we trying to broaden the serving area, but after more and more client came in they were all sat at the left side of the patio instead of outside even though we were early and id didnt feel right. My family felt discriminated upon during this experience, however the other waiter tweeted us with the utmost respect towards us and always checked on us however because of the space gap between us and the other guest they themselves even noticed the blatant racism shown by their own colleague l. I was disgusted and it ruined are morning. To all the other employees: (you all were kind and understand and are not at fault for that individuals actions)

Un bel endroit pas ennuyeux, avec de la bonne musique et une bonne ambiance.
Les mesures sanitaires pendant cette période de la pandémie étaient prises en considération.

J’ai quand même aimé le service en général mais en particulier le service à table.
La serveuse était vraiment souriante et gentille, elle était bilingue et cela a facilité les choses, il y avait une fluidité.

Nous avons commandé le steak et le temps d’attente était raisonnable. La nourriture était vraiment bonne, surtout le steak parce que nous avons demandé une cuisson à la perfection, mais c’était petit. Quantité et prix là je pense que c’est un peu à revoir.

En gros nous avons passé un bon moment et oui je peux vous recommander aux gens.

There is a problem with the website for the past month - always show that there is an error processing the order - need to call in to place order instead. Otherewise, exceptional food and service over the phone!

Had the most amazing pandemic experience here. Not only were they on time to the minute for my pickup, the food was sooooo amazingly good! I got the California chicken sandwich and I can't wait to go back. Also their handmade apple pies are to die for. 10 out of 10, would Joey again.

I always order from this location and never had an issue with my order. This time in very disappointed and unhappy. The my usual order which is the tuna poke bowl was horrible. Rice was very old and clumpy and inedible. Tuna tasted old and not fresh and the plate presentation was horrible in general. Not worth the $27 I paid. I do not recommend it. Waste of money

The food is very tasty. The service is lacking. It feels like most servers only pay attention to their friends or regulars. Maybe it was an off night. Willing to try again.

My sister and I were served by Marleigh and she was incredible. Perfect timing with our orders and refills, took every precautions to make sure we felt safe during COVID and the food was fantastic. 10/10, we hope to be served by Marleigh on our next visit

Ordered a meal at 540 to be delivered to a downtown hotel. The Uber Driver could not find the Sheraton which actually takes up over half block. I find this out when I call at 710 looking for my meal. They said it was returned. They made it a second time and it arrived at 835, almost 3 hours late. Still billed me full amount!

Very good food, nice ambience, lots of other good restaurants in the same area. Their NY Steak is amazing, at all locations from east to west coast
