Joey's Seafood Restaurants - Thunder Bay

Waitress were rude to us. We were a big group with kids. She couldn’t hide her frustration toward us and kids and made gestures to us from the glass window to shush them, she frequently grumbled esp when serving orders. She wasn’t able to serve the right order for the right person and expected us to guide her. I would say if you as a restaurant don’t have the ability to serve a big group or dislike the presence of kids please let us know or put a sign so we find a better place! Absolutely disrespectful!

I normally love Joey's but I had an awful experience there because of a waitress named Uthara R. Her customer service was terrible, she was rude, didn't seem like she wanted to serve us at all or do her job. We didn't ask her for much while we were there, we just expected the very minimum, at least a smile on her face and a kind "hello" could have made the experience better. And we ordered a lot of expensive items off the menu, we weren't there just for something small. Yet she treated us like she didn't want us to be there and wanted us to leave. We asked her for the table at the booth because we usually feel more comfortable there and she said she couldnt do it because she already cleaned it. As if they don't clean between customers or something. I didn't mind that but her attitude the entire time we were there was unacceptable. While we were dining she didn't even come back to ask if we were okay, she only came back to try and nudge us to leave toward the end and to get us to pay. I truly believe this girl will make Joey's lose business. If she's ever there to serve us again I'd probably just walk out without ordering anything.

They say the Fish and Chips does not include chips! I spoke with the manager. He blames Skip the Dishes.
I'm not sure who is responsible, but if you want fish and chips.don't order fish and chips (apparently)

Some of the best seafood I've had in a long time! I thought the ratings were unusually high but they ended up being better than I expected!

The service staff had a really tough day but they managed to pull together and encourage each other through a tough shift. There's no score for that but good team work and leadership is worth it's weight in Google STARS!

I had the fish and chips plus the best calamari I've ever had (PERIOD)!

The Cape Hawk fish with its light batter was scrumptious. The staff Uthara was knowledgeable about the menus; soft spoken, friendly and attentive.

Got buffalo shrimp and fish and chips. The taste was great. The fish was really crispy. Good service also. A quiet place and not too crowded.

The waiter did not even wait for me to sit down with my friends before he was yelling at me to see what I wanted. I always enjoyed eating at Joey’s but being served on a tray as if I am in jail does not appeal to me. The French fries were not cooked or hot. Very disappointing.

Fries not cooked even after I asked for extra crispy. Barely any batter on the fish that was cold in the center. A waste of $50. I called to complain and she was very nice. I said I wasn't asking for any replacement cuz I was all ready in my pjs and nothing was offered.

The food was good, server should warm customer that sweet potato fries have additional cost.

Food amazing. Employee attitude could be better, if it’s 8 they’ll stand over your head until you’re forced to leave. Not very friendly guys

Joli restaurant style resto pub. Leur fish and chip vaut la peine. Surtout leur classique Joeys avec la pâte maison, les frites délicieuses et le poisson qui fond en bouche. Le lieu est propre. Pour 15-20$, tu as une bonne assiette qui répond à ta faim!

Worst fish and chips I've had in many years. Chips were raw, not cooked. Fish didn't taste like halibut. Batter was damp.
Through out the terrible tartar sauce.

I enjoy the Halibut dinner so much that I drive from Current River to happily get some Halibut.

We unfortunately chose the all you can eat night:/We ordered 3 x 2 piece dinners and two lobster and cheese. When we got home one of them had what looked like 1piece cut in half and the other 2 had quite small pieces… so disappointing: (

Excellent fish and chips. Wasn’t too greasy. The fries were plain but not bland, the right amount of crispy as well. Coleslaw wasn’t too sour and complimented the dish very well. Food was also VERY fast. Definitely recommend

The last three times I’ve ordered Fish Tacos they have been very disappointing. Their image on their website is no longer an actual representation of their fish tacos. It seems like they are trying to cut costs with only using one fillet for two fish tacos and that leaves a small amount of fish in both tacos which they try to smoother with their lettuce mix. Honestly, I hate to say this because I used to love Joey’s fish tacos but you’re almost better off getting your fish tacos from Taco Time.
