Found this place while driving by, amazing burgers. They’re much bigger than you expect. 12/10

I loved it! I went there this week, and I was surprised with the burger I ordered. It's a small diner, but the burger is simply one of the best I had around the GTA. It's juicy, well prepared, and with just the right amount of seasoning. I loved that you get to choose the toppings. Great job, guys!

Service is really great here, tried hot chocolate today.you can definitely feel the taste, beef burger options and spicy fries are seems great in the menu. I highly recommend and must visit and I will visit again to try poutine, burger and spicy fries

Overpriced and mediocre burger.

Owner of the place was rude when asked why one burger and small fry cost 20 some dollars.
Saw him get angry at two more customers before me.must be having a bad day.

The homemade burger literally is one of the best if not the best burger I’ve ever had. Greek fries were also unbelievable. How can anyone to go McDonald’s or Harvey’s after eating this? Thank you for making my night special

A big thank you to the owner of John Anderson’s Hamburger in Markham.
My mother & my two young daughters & myself stopped in his parking lot with car troubles.
While we waited for CAA he came out to see if he could help.
He was closing at 6: 00 but he let us stay inside where we had something to eat & stay warm. The grilled cheese sandwiches & fries were very good.
He went above and beyond!
We intend to stop at his restaurant when we are in the area again.

It's a masterpiece. The burger is perfectly cooked with a great crisp on the outer layer. It's juicy, it's flavourful, it's exactly why you go to a local place like this instead of your typical chains. Chef's kiss.

The guys working are friendly and welcoming and definitely know how to make a burger.

I drove in from Guelph to come back here again and I’m glad I did. Even better than before.

Order a bunch of food for my team. The owner helped with delivery even when SkipTheDishes couldn't. Great food, great quantity. Highly recommended.

This is what it’s all about, folks. I’m going out of my way next time to come back. Tried it just because it was convenient and got a Greek salad that was absolutely amazing. Going to try one of the burgers next time. Great, family owned place with big portions and great prices. I loved it.

I just tried their homemade burger and it was awesome, so tasty and so many options. If u r in the city u gotta try this place.

I tried hand-made hamburgers and Greek chicken salads, there are all delicious, I highly recommend and the service also good!

I just went and tried their chicken tenders and let me tell yoh this place is a hidden gem in Markham tucked away on warden and 14th this spot has the best burgers in markham! Hands down recommend this place the owner is very kind and has a great personality as well

The fries are fried when you order. Love the freshness. Would appreciate the customer service they offered. Very friendly and welcoming. Spicy fries weren't spicy though.

Home Burger: 5/5 - tasty, well cooked.
Spicy Fries: 4/5 - was odd that they actually taste better reheated than at first.better than fries from most places though not the best but still pretty good

Tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I enjoy the fantastic ambience and fresh food and beverages. Highly recommended.

Portions are generous, prices are more than reasonable, food tastes great, and the owner shows amazing customer service skills. Fantastic experience here. Also, they use Cavendish fries so really, how could you go wrong? Will be back here in the future!

Edit: I appreciate the reply. Just spoke on the phone. There are no excuses. Wiping her hands on a towel is not the equivalent to hand washing. Let's learn from this going forward that once you handle the cash, hand washing needs to be second nature.

FYI - She's the one who grabbed the breads from the toaster and put the sauce and veggies on. Then you came and packed them into a bag.

The lady at the counter handled CASH BILLS AND CHANGE and without washing her hands started serving customers their drinks and MADE their sandwiches. I understand it started getting busy but this is not proper procedure. Highly sanitary anytime of the year but especially during COVID.

I highly recommend you try this place. I just the best Greek salad I ever had in my life. I wasn't very hungry today and opted for a small Greek salad and I enjoyed every last bite with so much gusto. Can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu.

Very friendly and quick service, i ordered the gigantic double home burger and it was great (could use a bit more cheese though), the only issue is that im not a hippopotamus, so i cant open my jaws far enough to take a proper bite out of such a towering massive burger!

Excellent home burgers! Hadn't been to John Anderson's in 25 years since the one close to me had closed. The burgers at this location were as good as what I remember. Family run business with super friendly people.

If you're tired of burgers feeling small in your hands, order up a burger from this long-standing local joint! Burger made my hands feel small because the patty was so thick!
Greek fries are also a nice treat:)

A refreshing change from your typical franchise fast-food joint!

Used to frequent the location on Victoria Park and Van Horne Ave until they sold it. After it was sold it just went downhill. I was super excited when I realized that the previous owners opened this location! Just like the good old days. Banquet burger was fantastic and the onion rings were great! I have not been able to find a place like this anywhere. Will be back to enjoy the chicken souvlaki.
