Had a delicious serving of mac and cheese bites and a juicy burger (my friend didn't tip). The server was also a very friendly gentlemen who was very accommodating with his services (my friend didn't tip like, at all). Wait times for the food was also not very long at all (like, zero dollars towards a tip from him). Look forward to coming back soon! (sorry my friend didn't tip)

The burger is good, but the wings are sub par and very skinny. I also find not seasoned enough. I got canjun and fried with sauce on side and both tasted almost similar. So not worth the price.

Atmosphere was good. Food was good but the service was great. Her name was Stephanie. She has an excellent personality, kind, respectful and know exactly want you require. I was there last July, If I were to dine there again, I would definitely ask for her. She's the best.

Hate the digital menu. Bring back a regular paper menu. That way phones are put away for dinner

John max never disappoints! I had a chicken quesadilla here tonight and it was amazing! I definitely recommend it! My boyfriend got a burger and a poutine tonight and he loved his meal too! There boneless wings and fries are always amazing too! John max has great food, it’s a very nice atmosphere and all the staff are really friendly and that is why I’m giving John max 5 out of 5! Thanks for the delicious meals and good times!

What can I say about the serving staff here OMG. Gavin creates an imediate welcomeing atmosphere when you walk in the door. Hes welcoming and very easy to get along with not to mention he is an absolute gem with following up and remembering regulars. This man deserves a raise, a good pat on the back. I could continue. Now lets move on to Lauren oh lauren lauren lauren. ASTOUNDING every single time she remembers us has great conversation with us and even lets us call her Delores lmfao she the bestest.no weve only had Sarah a few times but she great to and thes three have been our ones we ask for every time were here. Lets just say were their fans but we secretly think their our fans.thanks for doing an amazing job yall! Gavin keeps smiling and greeting people and you see how infectious his demeanor is.

Waitress and atmosphere on dining side were good. Food was passable. Boneless chicken wings are like a bigger child's nuggets. Would not order again. The salad was edible but was left near grill or something warm because it actually had hot parts in it. Was very hard to eat this way. Had it been cold or at least room temperature, it would have been fine. I think it was just a bad experience for us but probably okay to give it another try. Taste and spice of food were fine. They do have an outdoor patio as well.

Thank you ever so much Gavin for the friendly greeting as soon as we walked in. You made us feel like a part of the John Maxx family. We've been coming here for a while and you have added a new angle to the team that's become an asset from an outsiders perspective. Keep up the amazing work.

The waitress was great, the use to love this place. Now it's really gone downhill they didn't have somethings on the menu an no longer served some carrots and celery sticks that went with your meal. But they did charge you the full price (advice get rid of some of them tvs an put toward your food) place need a revamp to get back to business COVID is over that's what the waitresses blame it on. Lol

Had my daughters 19th Birthday dinner here. The waitress, Jenna, was absolutely fantastic. She is very well suited in this atmosphere.

I hope I have the right John Max location, but an employee named Jason called me to inform me about a Skip order I placed and how they had to change it and if it was okay that they made the change. I've worked in the service industry for 10 years, and normally employees wouldn't do that cause they're busy and stressed out already. So cudos to Jason, I hope he gets a raise, recognition from management, or a free drink or something.

Amazing! We stopped in for lunch on our way from Kitchener to Chicago, originally just for a snack style lunch, but the menu pics got us curious and they DID NOT disappoint. Everything was incredible, thr Caesar salad was amazeballs, the boneless chicken was moist and delicious and the mild sauce for them was an absolute delight. My son also got the deep fried pickles and said they were the best he's had, and the portions were more than reasonable for the price.

We'll be back for sure when passing through

Great night last night at John Maxx. We were pretty disappointed at the prices, but the service made up for all of it! I think our server's name was Jolene and she was on top of everything we needed. She is friendly and knows what she is doing. We will return for sure, even with the current pricing mostly because Jolene made our evening pleasant.

First time visiting and won't be back. Burger was disgusting.meat not properly cooked, bun soggy from the grease, cheese was already half congealed by the time the burger was served. The cook should be embarrassed for thinking the burger was acceptable. Service was subpar.

Getting a restaurant to take a reservation these days is tough getting a reservation for a group of 25 people is almost impossible.

We decided to take a shot and show up to JohnMax. The staff welcomed us and got serving our large group right away. Not only was the service perfect, the food was excellent.

Almost think we need to pop in for lunch tomorrow before we head home! Thanks again!

Good food, decent bar, friendly staff. Nowhere near enough dressing for the salads though, and yes extra dressing will cost you

We enjoyed our time here. The staff was friendly, and the service was great. What impressed us was how quickly we received our drinks, despite the relaxed atmosphere. This place is an oasis of calm, delivering efficient service without the usual bustle. A perfect spot to grab a drink when you're looking for a more tranquil setting on a weekend afternoon.

The price of food is high. My wife and I had chicken wrap 1 salad came with fries had 2 beers and the bill $70.00 staff friendly and place is clean other then that to expensive.

This used to be one of my favorite place for wings but the value has gone down while the price keeps going up! Their wing special is only 2 for 1 on boneless wings (any wing lover knows these are just fancy mcnuggets). Their traditional wings are buy 1 get 1 half off. I took my son out for dinner and we both got the "special". He had a coke and I had 2 pints of Guinness ($9.75 each? !) With tax and tip it was just under $100! I also get a bit upset when the lowest tip option on the machine is 18%. Our server was OK but not exactly impressive. (definitely not worth a $17 dollar tip!)
I can also say that their wings have gotten smaller over the past few years - must be a new supplier. They also used to give you carrot sticks which are no more and they give you half as much sauce as they used to! No towels or even a wet nap. Pretty mediocre experience at an exorbitant price. Not planning to go back. I live about 300m from John Max but I will make the drive to Patillo to go to the Loose Goose next time.

Food was good but I'm so sick and tired of all these restaurants jacking up the prices and giving less food! I wasn't even full after spending almost 50 bucks!

Great spot to post up at the bar and grab a beer and some wings. Place is loaded with TV's. Bar staff is great, Andrea is always doing the most for people!
