I have never been inside the building, but the outside is just a genuinely impressive and unique building in the city. It's brutalist angles make it very photogenic, by day or night. Can't wait to go inside one day.

The library is a space for ut students, so I only saw the entrance and the outside, and a child who is a ut student says it is the best library.

Good place to study, food court could be improved a lot, whether from the quality of food or the capacity of seats. You find no seats in rush hour, and you have to stand and finish your food.

Such a cute spot in the heart of downtown to see the cherry blossom trees.
The building is beautiful.

I came here excitedly, but I didn't expect to have a Tcard to enter. Made my Toronto library road a hit! One star is for the looks!

Not UofT' prettiest library but the atmosphere is very serious for a serious work day and puts me straight into a work mood.
The campus has was more pretty libraries though.

Well stocked list of books. Clean and tidy building. Super enjoyed the display of children historical books and retro futuristic book/art material. Please keep these public spaces open for the future.)

Come here during exam season and you can feel the air dripping with anxiety and stress. Even if you don’t want to study, seeing the other students cry over their looming exams will somehow lead you to also cram 2 months of content in 16 hours. 5/5 great library

One of my favourite libraries. Has multiple floors for you to get your silent study sessions in.
05 June 2022 21:37
Fantastic spot to study. There is a lot of food around, either in the cafeteria in the library or the food trucks outside. It’s very easy to find a spot to sit and study, it’s generally quiet with a good amount of background noise.

A well-equipped library with librarians who are ready to assist. Its interior is jail-like - dull and dreadful, matching the depressive description of campus life here. All seems well at UofT.
22 April 2022 21:52
This place is an institution itself. Brutalist architecture, and a rite of passage for all students that go to U of T. Will never forget the late night study sessions, food trucks outside, smelly bathrooms, StarBucks lineups.

A popular spot for students and faculty at the University of Toronto. This place has printing facilities, a food court, reading rooms and everything else that you might need for a good productive session in your field of academia.

It's horrendously ugly and exterior feels like a mix of prison/mental asylum.

Access (since 2020) is restricted to Students/Staff, so public cannot access the building freely without a Student ID and Vaccine Pass.
Utilities are well-maintained and there is endless literature, technology and expertise available to use as needed.

The library itself is gigantic. But can I just say it looks super evil and definitely not a peacock, more like a turtle

Interesting shape to this building albeit it seems to be shifting! The stacks are a great place to study in.

One of the biggest literary with several floors and department, University of Toronto is one of the top University in Canada in right in heart of downtown.

This is one the largest library in North America it is found at the heart of university of Toronto.the stuff are extremely helpful and eager to help.

Huge library with lots of resources, computers and study space for students. Uoft students can login to computers and use the wifi. Has a cafeteria located on the second floor with lots of seating. Also has many “silent zones” for studying in silence without any distractions, although most study spaces are not loud around the library. Some floors have study rooms that you can reserve and also first come first serve based rooms also. The most typical place to study and get any books also. 8th floor also has a meditation/prayer room which is great! Jumah namaz is often offered there also. Has prayer mats and yoga mats for meditation also. Giant windows also on almost every floor for natural lighting and also beautiful views of the st george campus and also the CN tower on certain sides.

I’m still looking forward to having some massage chairs installed. And a screaming room for those stressed during final season.

Open at all hours (except Friday and Saturday, where the library system appears to impose social norms to go out and do something not related to books). Truly the gem of the university system. It is very cozy and inspires work. However, lately it misses the hot dog stand in front.

24 hours on weekdays (except Friday) and Sunday. Not the coziest ambience but a nice place to study on campus at any time. Has a good cafeteria

John P. Robarts Research Library is the largest University library in Province of Ontario. Very quite place. Students gets ample amount of facilities and research materials. Well organised and well maintained. Staffs are very courteous as well.

Just awesome all around.
Interesting architecture and building, lots of books, accessible to everyone, what else one would expect of a library?

Rating the library surroundings around Spring time 2019 during Cherry Blossom season. Some alright scenic views and good shots to be had. There were also some slight construction work being done in the area during this time of visit which lowered the overall visit experience.

Just students of UofT can use wifi!?

Why? !

But there is really beautiful
28 March 2019 22:54
A good place to get some work done in peace. It was a bit difficult to get a seat on the main floors during the lead up to midterms, but you could usually find a spot in the stacks.
14 March 2019 0:12
Nice and quiet place to study. Sometimes gets really crowded esp in exams season. The bad thing is wifi is only provided for uoft students and noone else.
26 February 2019 6:17
A lot of people say that this building is ugly, but I actually think it looks really cool. By the way - it is supposed to look like a peacock!
11 January 2019 20:18
Lots of spaces to study when you're up on the stacks. It would be better if all desks had power though
26 December 2018 3:12
This library should be open 24/7 so people can study at whatever time they want. At a world class institution like UofT there's really no excuse!
