Yes.plumber was a bit late. BUT.the important thing is they called ahead of time to let me know they were running a bit behind.and then they arrived earlier than they said they would. They did everything they said they would do.advised me on what had to be done next.and cleaned up when the job was finished. Would definitely use them again.

We came home late on a Saturday night to a flooded garage from a leak in an upstairs bathroom. We called John the Plumber and Lance was here within the hour. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, fast-acting, genuine, helpful and everything you can ask for during a plumbing emergency! He quickly located the source, worked to fix the problem which helped minimize any further damage through the garage ceiling and walls. We would recommend them 100%!

Recently renovated a kitchen in an older condo building. Called on John The Plumber to install new sink, faucet and dish washer.
Greg (the plumber) did all the work. It was a lengthy task since this was in an older building. Greg worked cleanly, competently and in good spirit. I am very pleased with the final result and would certainly recommend Greg and John The Plumber to anyone.

All of the above comments all more than appropriate. Cameron came and had to deal with my very old tub and sink bathroom plumbing. Tub taps were repaired and left as-is for my future consideration but the sink and tap was replaced and he even found another leak which was also repaired. The service was excellent and quick and I would definately use John the Plumber again. As for Cameron, I hope he has a great career going forward. He was very informative and really kind considering "my mess". The experience was absolutley wonderful all around. Finally, the price was reasonable.

We had water pouring from our ceiling on the main floor. Lance was able to trace it back to an issue with shower drain. He was able to secure a replacement part right away and installed it, which fixed the issue. He was very professional and courteous. We can highly recommend his services.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY to repair, install or replace your sump pump.they will leave you with a hole in your foundation wall and tell you to seal it yourself or call someone else. They will also damage your sump pump and use the cheapest option to repair it, thus leaving it still broken. They will also leave you with water penetrating your electrical components.

I hired John the Plumber to repair a leaking seal around the discharge line of my sump pump. He assured me he would fix the issue.

The day they arrived they told me they would only replace the line and I had to seal the hole in the foundation wall myself, this confused me, but they said i could use some blue seal (which I purchased incase there were any cracks in my foundation) to seal the hole, I was left with a hole in my foundation while it poured rain for two days and poured water into my basement. Blue seal is not designed to fill large holes, nor does it work on wet surfaces.

Their website advertises the best sump pump repair and installation. I still can't understand how that doesn't include sealing the hole in the wall. I've had electricians put holes in my exterior walls and they seal them.
I've contacted other plumbing companies who state its the plunbers responsibility so seal the hole.
I've tried to contact them and they keep saying they do not seal the foundation and that I need to hire a foundation contractor. I've called foundation specialists and they won't take on the job because it's half done and they don't want the liability. They have all told me that the plumber should have sealed the hole and finished the job.

They guaranteed me that they would replace the damaged heat trace line that was in my sump pump, which the plumber (now no longer employeed by the company) severed when replacing my discharge line.
It took a month for them to decide replacing the line was too expensive (their words) and that they "hope" the patch on the cable would last. I've called the patch manufacturer, who have stated they do not guarantee it lasts and that the cable should be replaced for extended use. I also still have water entering my home, as the severed cable took on water over the month wait and my heat trace device and electrical outlet continuously fill with water.

They have tried to blame my sump pump and offer excuses. They have offered me credit for the job and have wished me well with the issue.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY to repair, install or replace your sump pump.or anything for that matter. They are a absolutely horrible company and only care about saving money. (Again, their words)

Dawson was friendly, on-time and professional. He arrived on time, explained everything that he was going to do then did it in a quick and professional manner. The price was more than fair and significantly less than another competitor that bid on the same work. I will be calling John the Plumber again for all my plumbing needs.

Bill arrived on time and provided a transparent and direct outline of what my options and an estimate for the options before committing to one with no pressure. Called for help removing a stuck pipe inside our house, which is connected to a well system. I was told that since nobody is certified to work on a well system, they won't come out. Even after clarifying that the work we need wasn't part of the well, and was just with the plumping inside our house (like any other residential service), we were still refused an emergency visit. John the Plumber lists both "pipe repairs" and "valve replacements" as services they offer. We just needed a valve replacement. The person on the phone didn't seem to want to hear what the problem actually was, and wasn't even a little apologetic that they can't offer a service they're advertising. Given how limited the options are in our area, this was pretty disappointing.

This morning I was at a doctor's appointment and the building was having some plumbing issues. My doctor called John The Plumber to fix the issue. Garrett and Geoff were the two men who addressed the service call. They arrived, quickly assessed the situation and calmly explained the issue to my doctor and the receptionists. They were well spoken, calm, and informative. TRUE PROFESSIONALS. They gave such a clear explanation of what the issue was and what they needed to do to make the repair. Even though my doctor was hesitant to spend the money on the repair, Geoff and Garrett repeatedly explained the issue until my doctor understood the problem and why the repair needed to be done. They truly couldn't have handled the situation better. I was so impressed that I went outside and got their names for this review. Highly, highly recommend. If I ever have a plumbing issue, they are who I will be calling!

“John the Plumber” came highly recommended by a friend. I called and explained that I had a vanity sink, tap and drain that needed to be installed and needed a plumber to do that for me. I was advised that they had a plumber available and that he would be about half an hour getting to my residence. Approximately 30 minutes later Matt, the plumber, arrived and after showing him the required work he advised me that it was a straight forward job and what the price would be. I was satisfied with his assessment and the price so Matt started the necessary work involved with the installation. The task took just over an hour to complete and I was very satisfied with the workmanship. Matt was also a very courteous and pleasant young man who was very neat, tidy and very efficient with his work.
I will certainly be recommending "John the Plumber" should anyone I know need a Plumber.

Most expensive company I have ever dealt with in the city. They got the job done but for 3 times the price of other companies I have used in the past.

This is the second time we have dealt with John The Plumber, and let me tell you… they are awesome! Called for an issue with our shower. It would no longer turn off and the water wouldnt stop. Called John the plumber and they sent someone within 30 minutes. Matt came by to fix the issue, he very quickly diagnosed and addressed it. Extremely happy with the quick and efficient job. Will definitely use them again for any future plumbing needs.

I was really pleased with the service I received from this company. I called because I was having a problem with a toilet. Geoff came that same morning (unlike anther company which after a week had not gotten back to me). Since it seemed to be no longer leaking he suggested that it might be a waste of money to try and repair it since there might not be a problem with it anymore. I appreciated that.
I decided to replace the 34-year-old water-guzzling toilet instead. I ordered two from the company he suggested which took a few weeks. I had three installed in all. He volunteered to pick the new ones up which I appreciated and to my astonishment carried them into the house himself. I also purchased other bathroom fixtures, faucet, showerhead etc. He kept in touch and advised me with my purchases throughout.
On the day, he came on time and brought with him Garrett and Alex. Alex seemed to be the newbie, but he was very nice and worked hard. Garrett was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable and able to excellently repair my very old shower faucet among other equally well-done tasks. Geoff was the best. After doing the laundry I had a pool of water on the floor. After determining the washer wasn't the issue, I contacted John the Plumber. The person I spoke to was so helpful and friendly. I had an appointment the same day. Geoff was able to solve the issue and make the repairs. He explained everything he was doing and cleaned up everything before leaving. First of all thank you to Bill from John the Plumber for being so prompt and efficient. It was difficult to find services in Ottawa following the massive storm we just had on May 22nd, 2022. With the torrential down pouring we had, we were worried about our now 5 year old Sump pump and if would fail, but were fortunate to not lose power. Then we went outside after the storm and realized the devastation that was caused and how many power lines were down and just how many people lost power. We could have easily been one of those without power and our sump pump would never have worked to keep our basement dry. After helping our friends and neighbours who did lose power, we knew that a battery backup sump pump was essential to keep our home safe and have peace of mind. Efficient replacement of our 100 year old cast iron pipes. Jonathan, Connor and Zach were very helpful with explanations and great with our curious kids.
