I have been with Johnson Insurance since around 2008. I have always been pleased with their service for multiple policies for auto insurance. We have many auto insurance needs from trailers to stored collector type vehicles. The premiums have been excellent, the service is even better. I can speak with one person and get everything I need accomplished on 5+ policies in clear dialogue. That's very valuable to me.

I’ve been with Johnson for many years, TJ was the very first one to exceed my expectations. He was full of energy and with high spirits, patiently listening to my concerns which he addressed with strong knowledge and was able to give me solutions to my issues. He even hand the time and patience to listen to my partner’s issue, which he also found time to address. He never had a dull sound while he was patiently explaining to us his answers.
I felt that I am valued and welcomed.

I was trying to sign up with Johnson and twice I've been told by different agents they'll call me back and don't. Unprofessional and you lost a potential customer.

Also, I'm seeing Johnson responding mainly to positive comments and not addressing anyone raising concerns. That's not good customer service.

Update: Responding to Johnson's comment below - we did call again and someone said they'll call back. AGAIN no call back.

Awful insurance company! They are making me pay my deductible and some of the car rental fees even though I was rear-ended. I was hit and I have to pay? ! They are liars. They have kept me out of the loop. They don't seem to like to call or e-mail you back and then just spring information at you last minute! 5 weeks later and I am still waiting for my car! Don't waste your time or money! I'm livid with this company and the awful customer service! When my policy is over, I am leaving! Enough is enough!

So disappointing. We have had a flood and because our basement also flooded in 2018 they have told us that if we submit a claim for this second flood, then they will not continue to ensure us. Neither flood was our fault. This is our second very bad time dealing with Johnson and I will be switching providers as soon as possible. Stay away. Johnson is awful. I’ll be the third member of my family to leave them for terrible service.

I called them to get a quote for home and auto and I am ready to provide all my information, but they cannot ask for the personal information of the household member as they are not insuring them then why to ask for their information to get my quote. However, To insure my person car which is driven by me only, then why do they need the personal details of any other person living in the household. I am the one who will pay and you will insure me only. So, they want me to disclose the details like their drivers license no. And all other details. Which is not appropriate and it’s like violating their privacy right.

Full G since 1996 full M since 1999. I currently have 3 cars and a 1050cc speed triple motorcycle insured with them! After almost 2h on the phone and 6 different agents, I was told my new bike, Yamaha 250cc Vstar is a high risk and I can’t get insurance for it! Took 2 days and 2h of phone chat for that answer! Time to change I guess!

I have never come across this type of insurance company at all TOTAL SCAMMERS. I will never ever in my life advice anyone to get a policy from this company. They are professional thieves, lairs and very unprofessional workers and just like taking money from people’s pockets. I gave my friend my car to pickup my gfriend from YYZ airport, because I couldn’t make it I had to work.
Unfortunately he got in an accident, Nobody was injured just the car had very little damage at the front. The insurance company canceled the insurance and refused to pay for the damages. Me and my friend had to pay all the damages never got help from them. After few months I received a call from collection agency saying I owe this company over $2000? How! And nobody even the claim advisor mentioned this to me while the last time I spoke to them was July 2020. From my experience with this company its unacceptable and it isn’t worth your money getting their services. Please RUN IF YOU HAVE A POLICY WITH THEM. Not worth it at all.

The worst customer service, 1/10 employees has common sense and common courtesy.
Management never called me.
Had a lease finalize and they would not cancel cause i wasnt policy holder. The holder was over seas. All they had to do was give me information on where to send the paperwork from dealership. Instead argued with me and management never called me back.
Do not recommend this company
Also during covid have raised the price twice while others were lowering or rebaying

Two separate times my fresh insurance card never came in the mail. Had to call and request both times.

Insurance premium went up each year despite never having an accident or ticket.

Then when I went to change policies to another company I got charge $140 for early cancellation. Even though I am 5 days after when my policy was up for renewal, to which I didn't realize because again, I did not receive an updated insurance card.

Pretty disappointing

Edit* after they "reached out" I was just told that this is the policy in corporate speak. Very lame and if suggest to anyone out there, find someone else to go with.

Have been with them for 13 years. I pay yearly for the insurance but this time due to Covid I didn't receive the renew letter. They said they send us the registered post but I didn't receive any notification from Canada post regarding that but they cancelled the insurance without letting us know. Very bad service. Will never go back to them. When I called them they send they send the letter on November 3rd but they cancel it within 10 business days. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM. VERY POOR SERVICE. ***DURING COVID CANADA POST SERVICE MAILING SYSTEM IS BIT DELAYED*** THEY SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED CUSTOMER THROUGH PHONE BEFORE CANCELING THE SERVICE.
AFTER THEY CANCEL THE INSURANCE THEY SEND ME EMAIL THAT THEY WANTED TO DISCUSS SOMETHING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM.

This is hands down one of the worst insurance companies out there, nothing but a bunch of unprofessional thieves, I was recently added on my families car insurance and due to me not being a regular driver, I chose to exempt out, in-spite of we informing them multiple times of our decision prior to our billing date, they failed to provide us with the policy change document, and when they finally managed to send us the policy change documents, they had the wrong year for the car, in spite of that completely being there fault and me sending in the policy change form in way before the billing date, they still charged me, and guess what no coverage for the month which is straight up theft and complete unprofessionalism from there end, overall this is one of the worst insurance companies out there, and I would advice anyone to refrain from using this company with them being complete thieves and there staff being one of the most unprofessional. I will be looking for a new insurance company.

They have horrible services. I was waiting almost one and half hours to get agent on chat this pandemic time. Agent did not help any thing auto insurance and told me have to pay full amount and disconnect my line. Have to think twitch next renew time.

Exceptional service. I had to make a claim for the first time in 50 years of driving. Every individual I spoke to at this company was professional, efficient and courteous. Have had several different insurers over the years. I highly recommend Johnson/Unifund.

I have been using Johnson Insurance for many years, on many cars.from Mercedes S Class to a Hellcat. Johnson has been working with me very nicely. I got in a few non fault accidents and my rates never went up. I asked them to put insurance on my car to move it from one location to the next, while it has just storage insurance on it, and they never charged me to put the insurance on it. People always say that I pay cheap insurance premium on the 700 HP Hellcat, I get the best rates at Johnson. They give me no problems, none at all. I highly recommend Johnson Insurance!

The worst people on this planet. They do nothing except taking your money and when it comes to the claim they transfer you file to senseless people that are totally unaware of the situation and make their own decision on your behalf without your consent.you will soon regret the decision for their services.

I have been with them for a year and I was paying around $200/month for a 1way insurance. Now that I am reaching my second year with them, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED when I saw the mail they sent me saying that I will be paying $60 more every month which is $1000 more every year. I got rear ended where in I was not at fault. Never had any violations. And still my insurance goes up. I was even thinking of renewing with them but I know I can find a different company that can offer me a reasonable price

I have been with this company for 5 years and I have no tickets and no accidents and no claims, and I'm loyal customer and after these years they increase rate for the next schedule and I don't know why and nobody tell me the reason, and they are liers because they marked me that I have accident and I have claim but the truth it was hit and run and that mentioned in police report and I cancelled the claim, I'm sorry for the years that I was loyal with Johnson insurance and the only thing that they think about it is only milking customers, bad bad bad experience.

Our insurance rate for auto increased from $1984 to $3399 in one year even though we had no accidents, no tickets, not claims. Its as if they no longer want us as a customer and therefore try to get rid of us through ridiculous and unjustified rate increase.

Based on my past experience I would not recommend Johnson/unifund. Unfortunately, the Ontario government allows all insurance companies to operate the way they do. Doug Ford promised insurance reform and has done nothing (similar to McGuinty).

I have been with them for a number of years and premiums have held steady. This year they had to pay a $1200 claim (I still paid a $500 deductible) because somebody broke my side view mirror while I was parked on the street. Johnson assessed I was 0% at fault. I repeat. I still had to pay the deductible. A few months later when it came time for renewal they increased my premium by almost $1200! I guess they are great until you actually need them and then they gouge you. In my case they are gouging me for something that they themselves assessed was 0% my fault. Will not be renewing with them because I have found much better rates elsewhere.

Every year they increase my insurance atleast $200.no other choice.
Also they don't have agents for taking calls or chat.may be 1 or 2.so you have to wait years to get to them.

Very slow process at the office in grand falls newfoundland iv been waiting a week now trying to switch from ontario to newfoundland and now today i get told its going to be another day or so because apperently the lady cant see or approve the driving history and it has to go through someone else. Now im late for work, everything pushed back because there not trained as well as in ontario where the one agent can deal with it all in one day and not a week process. The agent i was speaking to in grand falls was very rude, talking over me when i tryed to ask questions and the agent before her refused to let me talk to a manager or supervisor. PEOPLE YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANYS NEWFOUNDLAND BRANCH. Makes me worried if i ever have a claim how im going to be treated.

Denied insurance because there is 3 names on the house.why the F does that matter? There is no mortgage.why does it matter who is listed. Do not waste your time. They’re clearly snakes that will probably deny your claim anyways.

CALL WAITING TIME.
They have similar prices like any other insurance company but the wait is min 1 hr.

CALLED SAME DAY after an accident. The agent took all the info and made me to wait 2 business days for an insurance appraiser. When i called back on third day, another agent said they didn't assign any insurance appraiser.
