Expensive, but excellent home made food. Best pita or Donaire you'll probably ever get

JP is the man! Massive pita at a reasonable price. He's a character, as evidenced by the photos on the wall and the fact he sells t shirts with his face on them. We were chatting about how it was my first time here since I didn't live in Bowmanville, so he pulled out a bottle of Johnny Walker, and we took a shot together to celebrate. I'll certainly be back! What a guy!

We stopped here on a day trip to Clarington and I’m so glad we did. The food is delicious and made fresh. The portions were huge, and JP offered us free samples. Go for the food and stay for the experience - you won’t regret it!

Great food! At first I thought it was very expensive. $23 for a combo. But then I saw the size of the shawarma.and it's worth it. Enough for 2 people!

I'm from Georgetown but whenever I find myself in Bowmanville I make sure to come eat at JP's! Besides having really great food, my fiance and I were struck by how nice of a human being JP was and how quirky the restaurant looked. You will have a customer for life in me

Best food and value out of all of the pita places in Durham Region. Friendly service offering filling pitas for a great price. We went the other day and got a chicken and a gyro pita. Both were delicious

That was the worst sandwich I had ever had meat was dry could barely swallow it. Sandwich was lacking flavour tasteless if you ask me. Basic toppings, nothing special considering it cost $17.00 not worth the money.

Great pitas. Never can finish a whole one though I keep trying! Gyros, donair, and chicken club are favorites for sure.

The food is amazing and all made fresh on site. The man who runs it was so nice. Let us sample the fresh in-house made meat. It was all amazing. And the homemade tzaikai sauce. Wow! A must go to.

I just finished eating my first order from this place. The owner is so kind and sweet. The food was delicious! So fresh and unprocessed! Servings are more than fair for the price you pay. It is right next to Subway and never again will I waste my money at Subway. I'm going to try everything on the menu at JPs! Can't wait till we go again!

These are the best, loaded with ingredients and a great price point! You will be full after one of these as they are big!

Just paid 15 bucks for the worst chicken ceaser pita I have ever had. Man was nice tho. But maybe get some romance lettuce or take that item off the menu.

Came all the way from Manitoba to try the food here and the owner did not disappoint. Authentic well made delicious food and the owner is one of a kind! Will come again!

As soon as we walked in it smelled amazing and we were greeted. He was very friendly and funny. It was our first time there and we asked for his recommendations for the pulled pork pita. It worked out wonderfully and it tastes awesome. We will definitely be back when we're in the area! Such a great experience!

This is my story. Worked all day. Didn't pack a lunch. Stopped here with a massive appetite. Today was a good day, and I ate this food in the parking lot. Customer service was a 10. Food portion was too much. Taste was awesome. And that tzatziki sauce was out of this world. If you come to this plaza, this should be the only place you eat.

Best pita in bowmanville 100% came here like 13 years ago as a reg. Pitas are big and juicy recently went when in bowmanville and quality has not changed a bit.owner still there still happy and smiling everytime I head out that way I stop by jp's!

JP's personality alone makes it worth a visit. The pitas are huge, delicious and have tons of meat. Great value! The business cards and t shirts available for purchase are hilarious. Made a special trip from Peterborugh to visit JP and will likely again soon!

I've never been in the store, but thus guy comes into walmart and thinks he's owed a discount on things and is unfriendly and rude

Such a character, stop in just for the entertainment! Loads of food options, the chicken wrap was gigantic, loved the potato wedges.the poutine wasn't my favourite but thats not a deal breaker. I'll be returning again soon.

Being from the east coast I'm a huge fan of a good donair, I had never come close to an east coast style donair since moving to Ontario.until I found this place. JP is a super friendly guy, and he makes a 5 star, east coast style donair with quality ingredients. Very lucky to have this little gem in town!

Had a pita here 3 years ago and then this week. From what i recall, they cut the chicken off the spit and straight on your sanwich - the way i like it. This time the chicken was flaked and soaked in a sauce before the put it on the sandwich. Not how i like it - too soggy and tasted more like tuna. All else was good.customer service, toppings, size value for $$$ etc. Will try elsewhere next

JP is awesome the portions were massive and the food was delicious. If you are hungry try this place you'll love it. The atmosphere will make you hungry for life. Such a cool place, Guy Fieri should have this place on his show.

Easily the best pita place in Bowmanville, far outdoing the top franchises. The warm and welcoming atmosphere along with the phenomenal owner JP, makes you feel like a friend as soon as you step foot in the store right until you leave with a full stomach from the gargantuan meal you get for the same price as big franchise companies. Definitely recommend eating here if you’re in town.

Very welcoming, amazing and Friendly service. First time trying JP's Pita Deli and upon entering we were given a sample of all three meats and homemade tzatziki sauce and explained how everything is made in house. Delicious food we will definitely be going back.

I met the owner tonight he's the one that made our gyro. The sandwich was quite large and delicious all the way through the last bite. He's been in business for many years and knows what people like to eat.

Drove all the way up from Louisville, KY and got super hungry so stopped at JP'S Deli to eat the most delicious pitas and met the nicest people!

Always the best place to eat. Been going there for about 8 years now every time I am going west I take the 2 hr drive and stop there.

If you are passing through Bowmanville, you MUST visit this place. I give the food a 3 star, but the owner and experience a 6-star! Had the chance to visit a few weeks ago.

So hard to put into words the experience, but it was incredible! Owner makes you feel like family and don't want to leave. Only suggestion I have to the owner, don't microwave the meat in front of people, it cheapens the meal, no one wants to go in for microwaved meat.

Other than that great place!
