Amazing morning experience. All I have to say is I love this place and Javier (the guy with black frame glasses) gives -always, that incredible above and beyond e service you are looking for. Aside the fact his coffees are the best. Very efficient, friendly.
My family and I we are loyal customers since Cafe Jules have opened in 2006, and we know Javier since 2007, and Cafe Jules quality products along with his amazing service, is the best way to start your morning.
Jules is one of my favourite bakeries in Toronto. I find it to be a no-frills French bakery with excellent pastries. All their pastries and tarts are amazing - especially the lemon tart (you need to wake up early for it!).
My mom always wants to stop by here when she visits. We love grabbing fresh baguettes and croissants that we’ll nibble on as we walk around the neighbourhood.
Excellent patisserie. Standout croissants and lattes, even in a neighborhood with many other options. Beautiful tarts, mousse cakes and entremets. Nice little butter cookies. Great danishes, quiches, sandwiches, and salads. Highly recommend the baguettes and financiers. Currently no seating inside.
How am I only finding out about this place now? ! The paste rows are amazing. The croissants are super flaky and buttery. It’s making me hungry just thinking of them now. I also tried the quiche, it was good and had big chucks of broccoli but probably not something I’d order again. That being said I’d definitely come back for the croissants again anytime!
Twice I tried to come.people inside looking busy to close. I came just before 5pm and the second time at 4: 30.nope, they won't let me in even give me a smile. Plenty of pastries remaining unsold but shop is closed.made enough money for today. They don't need me as a customer.too bad so sad.
I was happy to discover this bakery. Every time I was walking in front of it, I was seeing lineups. They also only allow 2 people inside at the time. They offer a lot of baked goods and I wanted to try everything. Their baguette is very similar to the ones in France. Their butter croissant was nice and flakey but in my opinion was not buttery enough. Their almond croissant was delicious. Their chocolate croissant was very good. My only disappointment was that the 2 chocolate bars were stacked and not separated enough so that you would have a really nice chocolate-y bite and then some with no chocolate at all. Maybe it was just the one chocolate croissant. Their pain au raisin was very good. I also tried their twisted chocolate bread which was very enjoyable. Their fig pistachio tart was amazing. They had a lot of different fruit tarts that all looked so good. They also had a whole quiche and sandwich section that looked very tempting as well. Their coffee was very good as well. Their quiche lorraine was nice and thick with a good amount of bacon inside. Would definitely come back.
Still the best croissant in Midtown (sorry Bayview Ave). This is a fantastic bakery, proven time and again by the lineups on weekends. Always fresh, quality ingredients, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
The pastries are delicious, that’s true, but some of the staff has low work ethics - I bought 2 chocolate croissants ($3.25) and 2 raspberry croissants (4.25) and paid 32 instead of 18, they overcharged me for $14, and they didn’t even notice that until I checked the receipt and asked them to check. So you have to pay attention when it comes to payment!
From the service, to the coffee, pastries, and other baked goods, this place is a standout in Toronto. Sure, maybe in France or Japan this would be a 4/5, but for Toronto this is most certainly a shining star amongst the so many underwhelming Patisseries. Enjoy!
Flavour is ok but I found the lady owner got my price wrong: 2 tarts + 3 croissants = $32? You gotta be kidding me!? Left in a rush so I didn’t argue about it
My favourite bakery in the area so why sell stale baguette? Think people can’t tell when it was rebaked and why it is stone hard? This is the curse of being a bakers son, I know most of the tricks.
Do I not give you enough business? This is too bad now I have to double check my orders for freshness.
Asked for a croque monieur & it was ice cold from a display case. Now i need to go home, fire up my oven & try to figure out how to reheat this thing. Very disappointing.
This was my favourite place for amazing French pastries bu today's experience has changed my mind. I haven't been to Jules in a while, today everything looked dried out. I bought the Caneles and they were hard on the bottom, burnt on the top and $5 each. I threw them out. I would not go back- ever.
This is my favourite bakery in all of Toronto. The quiche is the best I have ever had, as are the eclairs. The service is really wonderful, and everything tastes just as wonderful as it looks.
Excellent French bakery. From quiche to croissants, lots of delectable baking to choose from. They have this one pastry that is full of vanilla custard and damn delicious!
Found my new go-to carbfest. It ain't blackbird 2.0 but there is always a line in the morning. The best part is they serve coffee at a reasonable price as well. Large selection of pastries but I've gone around 1/2pm on weekends and they're sold out by then sometimes. Lots of bread to choose from and some tarts as well. Come support them! They take AMEX TOO!
Baked items are good, coffee is meh but the service is so so so bad. The people behind the counter are so rude. It’s a shame because I’m never coming back.
I love going to the post office now that it has moved onto Mount Pleasant because it means that I get to stop at Jules Cafe Patisserie for a chocolate croissant on the way home.
This bakery is one of my local favorites. The chocolate croissant is a must and you should definitely try the whole wheat sourdough. On my last visit I had the ham & cheese sandwich which is delicious but not for those on a diet. I usually have a cappuccino but this time they only had regular coffee as it was almost closing time but I must say it was actually pretty good. Hope the pumpkin croissant comes back to the menu next year.
A friend of mine gave me this pistachio tart/cake (I don’t even know what it’s called) …but it was heavenly. The perfect mix of tartness from the raspberries and plums with the sweetness from the pistachio cream, not to mention the crunch and the tart shell had a great texture. I would love to visit one day and try the rest of their goodies.
Croissants & tarts are 10/10 delicious - just what you would get from a bakery in France. Also excellently priced! Love this place & will be back again.
The Chocolate Almond Croissants at Jules are amazing! Had a lovely selection of croissants and their lattes are to die for. Definitely a staple when in the area.
I tried the croissants in this pastisserie. I chose the plain and the pistachio because of the reviews. Both were very good, but the pistachio was amazing! I highly recommend.
This place is popular - and it is no surprise why. Love coming here for a sandwich or pastry, everything is so delicious! This place is definitely a staple of Mount Pleasant. Excited to go back.
Jules bakery truly is a hidden gem in Toronto. Their baguettes and bread loafs are amazingly perfect. They have super delicious french pastries. Mount watering croissants and puff pastry. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Awesome bakery! My favourite place in the Mt Pleasant/Yonge & Eg area. Their croissants, baguettes and sour dough are so good. Worth the early morning lineups.
Delicious. My new favorite thing is the chocolate and pistachio danish. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. There is usually a line up. I used to pass this place on my early morning runs and always made sure to run a little closer to be engulfed fully by the fresh baked goods smell.
I’m not easily impressed, but WOW, the croissants, pain at chocolat, and other pastries are to die for. Can’t wait to try the sandwiches per the other reviews.
A french bakery/pastry shop with great baguettes, breads and pastries and cakes. They specialize in pastries and croissants (regular, chocolate, almonds and mixed). They also have a small dining area (4 tables of 2 and additional counter seats) where they used to serve specialty coffees, any of their dessert items as well as a lunch menu. The dine in option is not available due to COVID. There is an inside washroom (downstairs and thus not easily accessible with babies due to the steep staircase). In all, good quality, authentic European style products. However, the photos show the whole wheat sourdough bread (healthy but a bit chewy), the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon danish swirl which together cost $15. I was there around noon and most of their regular selection was gone. Due to COVID, they only allow 2 people at a time for take-out orders only.
They falsely advertise a "20% off on all pastries" on the front of the store. This 20% just includes some baked goods (not including bread). They make a good coffee leclaire tough for that I give an extra star.
Love it. My go to place for a croissant and a good espresso coffee. A real FRENCH patisserie, one of the best croissants I ever had. Try the almond or the pistachio. The food in general is of a very high quality and the service is always quick.
Wow hidden gem of Midtown. Please only come to this place for coffee and food.food is soooooo gooood.i recommend starting with salad for under $3.its really really good.and order any of the sandwiches they have.and consider trying one of their deserts after.
Dont waste your time. Snobby to the core. Expensive and all for food that is not even fresh. Chewy baguettes. DONT DO IT.save your money and just go up the street to Thubors. MUCH MUCH BETTER. At least THEY ARE FRENCH
Hello cute Neighbourhood Bakery Cafe! Fresh breads, croissants, salads, soups, pastries and baked stuff. Their coffeee is sooo good too! I’ve seen their stuff fly off the shelf, it’s pretty good. They have a tiny sit down area which only adds to the cuteness. Mount pleasant road is such a great location for this Patisserie, it’s a bit of France in there and the street only adds to the elegance of it all. They are very reasonably priced and the food is consistently very good.
They have a huge spread of delicious goods. They bake on site! Croissants are buttery and flakey. Delicious latte that needed no sweetening. Friendly staff. Love this place!
I know it's hard to look past the baked goods, but they have great salads. I like their beet salad, fresh greens salad with lemon dressing, and their lentils salad is great too. I get salad takeout for lunch all the time.
I would suggest best pastries in Toronto, croissants and deserts excellent. Usually a line up for service on the weekends. Not much seating best to get to go. On a warm day nice park around the corner to enjoy their coffee and croissant.
I just popped by Jules for a quick coffee and snack and I am incredibly impressed. The ham and cheese croissant I got was one of the best I've had! Flaky pastry with a legit bechamel cheese sauce and thin slices of flavorful ham. EXTRAVAGANT and DELICIOUS. My cappuccino was tasty as well. Friendly service and decent prices, they get an A+ in my books!
Was sent here by a former co-worker who claimed it was the place to get a pastry in mid-town if not the city. A little pricer than other places but you defently get what you pay for in terms of quality of menu items. Look forward to trying more items
